This place is awesome! After the artist took a look at my design, they advised that I NOT do it. We went over the design and I went back twice with revisions until the artist gave the ok. I found this very impressive as I had gone to a couple of other places that just said "sure, I'll do this for you" Obviously the artists at Kahuna take much more pride in their work and aren't just after your money! Everyone there was very nice and helpful, and exhibited a professionalism that you just don't see anywhere anymore. I am very very happy with me new tattoo!
Review Source:Stopped in to Big Kahuna last night after leaving Mizner Park as I was in the mood to get a couple tattoos that I've been wanting. Â After hearing great things on Big Kahuna, reading Yelp reviews, and being disappointed that the competitors shops never seem to be open or overly friendly, I stopped in. Â
It was about 9-ish last night and two others were getting tattooed in there. Â I was right off the bat comfortable with the shop as everyone was super friendly, greeted us at the door, and were more than willing to hash through ideas and draw up what I wanted without acting like it was an inconvenience....they were very accommodating. Â
After going through ideas and agreeing on the placement, I ended up getting two tattoos last night and they look great. Â My tattoo artist was friendly throughout the process and I have nothing but good things to say about Big Kahuna. Â
If you are around the area and looking to get inked up, I'd recommend Big Kahuna. Â Prices were very reasonable as well. Â I will post pics once it heals up.
Big Kahuna is by far one of the best and most friendly tattoo shops Ive been in. I am a tattoo collector and have been getting tattooed for about 10 years at numerous shops and Big Kahuna is by far one of my favorites. I have been tattooed by everyone at the shop and they all do great work. I have recently been getting most of my work done by Jason M. and i couldnt be more pleased they are great designs and they have healed even better as for some other reviews that say otherwise I wouldnt pay them much attention the people obviously havnt spent much time in tattoo shops. But I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone at big kahuna to take care of whatever your need may be. Awesome shop and friendly staff.
Review Source:I really hate to burst your bubble guys. I am from Boston where some of the best custom tattoo shops are located. However, I made the grave mistake of going into the BK while on vacation with my family. My tattoo, an anchor-cover up was a Valentines Day gift from my hubby. I lived in Boca for 2 years while attending FAU, and I read the 5 star yelp reviews. I went in for a consultation with Jason M. And later that week went in for a "feminine anchor." It was horrible, amateurish, generic, thick lines, all black (I agreed on black and grey, but it looked like a blob). I didn't say a thing, just left afterward. Needless to say I went home and went directly to Fat Rams Pumpkin Tattoo where I should have gone in the first place. They are fixing it, and warned me about Florida tattoo shops where there is often little accountability. Live and learn. Oh, and for the girl who said this shop was clean--- girlfriend, go to Boston you can eat off of the floor at Pumpkin Tattoo. For professionalism--eating a sub in front of customers. Gross. BTW. This was my second tatt in 10 years so my shop experience was next to nil. Just want to warn naive folks like myself! I have a large black tatt on my body that I am now paying more money to get color put on. Might take a few more times. Not a feminine anchor.

Review Source:After calling to inquire about scheduling an appointment the guy on the phone told me to stop by early so the artist could meet with me and create a custom design if I wanted. I let the artist, Jason, take the phrase I wanted and let him put his creative spin on it. I would highly recommend Jason and Big Kahuna; the shop is professional, clean and all of the guys are extremely knowledgeable.
Sidenote: They only accept cash, but they have an ATM in the back if you need it.
Although I haven't gotten a tattoo or piercing here--I went to Big Kahuna when my monroe got infected and swelled up painfully and I could not remove my bar. Although I didn't have an appointment they saw me right away and got out the pliers and got my bar out right away and cleaned the piercing for me and explained to me why my piece could be iffy (they don't use internally threaded pieces at all, which mine was, and they suggested that especially with facial piercings could be more prone to infection and harder to remove). The staff are professional and personable and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to get work done! They are Cash Only though. Remember to tip your piercier/tattoo artist!
