Horrible!!!! They're absolute liars scamming people out of their money. Paid $130 to get pierced with what I was told was surgical steel...my ear would not fully heal. Come to find out their jewelry is not surgical steel! I actually spoke with someone who was going to work there until he saw the catalog they order from, everything is LOW QUALITY under $1!

They have no interest in the customer or doing things right. They're just out to make a money any way they can.

When I confronted the rude old fart about falsely advertising their jewelry as surgical steel, he called me a liar and hung up on me.

Immediately called my bank and got my money back for the crappy work and lame jewelry!

So I walked in to get a touch up, and get new minor details added to a pre existing tattoo.  Not only did the tattoo artist blatantly insult my choice of tattoo/art, he said he hates doing the type of art.  He was rude, and down right pathetic.  The job would have been easily $200, yet he had the nerve to be a prick.  Don't use them, tattoos are personal.  You don't want someone with a nasty attitude doing your work.  You'll be living with it for the test of your life.  Get someone personable with character and passion for the work.  Not someone who thinks they have better things to do than their job.

I had been looking to get my cartilage pierced on both ears and set this as my New Year's resolution (I obviously aim high in life) and finally 8 months later am getting to it. This place is pretty close to my house and came by last night to to finally get my 5th hole in my left ear and my 4th in my right.
I was quite surprised how easy it was and how nice the staff was. I do not remember the name of the guy who pierced me but he was adorably funny and very informative about what he was doing. I definitely say I would get more piercings just to have him take good care of me (tall, black skinny guy). He made me feel very at ease and comfortable (Thanks again!)
The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because when I was paying I dealt with an older man who was a bit rude and overly pushy. I was NOT a fan of his demeanor. It also came off that he wasn't particularly nice to his staff either.
Other than the distasteful attitude of the manager (?), I would recommend anyone to get their piercings done here!

I got my tragus pierced from Body Jewlz, which was a HUGE mistake. When getting it pierced the piercer suggested REPEATEDLY THAT I GET A smaller rod. The piercing kept sinking into my ear and the skin would grow over it AS AN INFECTED BUBBLE THAT WAS VERY PAINFUL . I went three times to get it pushed out and I asked them for a longer rod TO WHICH HE REFUSED REPEATEDLY CLAIMING BETTER JUDGEMENT. They told me to buy some salient solution from them, which I did. Then they asked me to buy tree tea oil, WHICH I DID, none OF WHICH helped my swelling. Yesterday, I went over there AGAIN( THIRD TIME THUS FAR) to ask them to take it out because I wasn't able to push it out by myself. The owner was really rude, NOT CONCERNED ABOUT HOW HIS POOR PIERCING JOB HAD AFFECTED MY EAR AND THEN he asked me to pay for another stud, after seeing how bad my ear had gotten. After GOING BACK AND FORTH FOR SOME TIME, he agreed to give me the longer rod for free to which I refused because I didn't want anything for free.  I just wanted GOOD customer service.

The only reason Im giving this place two stars is because I got my tongue pierced a couple months ago by a younger guy who was really nice and my tongue healed perfectly fine.

The low rating is cause recently my boyfriend went in here to get me a clear barbell since I have an interview and he was helped by the old man who I guess is the owner, not sure. He asked the guy for a CLEAR barbell for the tongue and first the guy brought out completely different kind of piercing jewelry! My boyfriend even showed him a picture and then brings him a black barbell...not clear, black. He was so rude and unprofessional. Then, he brings my boyfriend a plastic barbell and says you can cut it then screw the ball back in and it'll RE-THREAD ITSELF. Seriously??! I think he was just trying to make money off of someone who doesn't know much about piercings. My boyfriend ended up going somewhere else that has 4 barbells for cheaper than this place. We refuse to go back until that old guy changes how attitude and becomes serious about helping his customers.

Ricky re-pierced my ears for me last night, very professional, excellent service. He clearly knows what he is doing with his years of experience.

    Impressively clean sanitary environment.

Professional experienced and typical manager salesman (didn't catch his name).

I was in with my daughter who has a navel piercing and she was also impressed by the quality and cleanliness of this business.

Recommended by sales employee at Hot Topic.

This place is a rip off.
My skin is sensitive so I have to get titanium jewelry.
They charge you extra for titanium jewelry but the jewelry they give you isn't actually titanium. I got my nose pierced here and the jewelry fell off 3 weeks later. I paid extra for titanium and found out it's actually not titanium!
I also got my industrial pierced here not too long ago and paid extra for titanium. My skin got irritated because the jewelry isn't titanium.
I give them 2 stars for that one piercer with a dermal on his face though. I never got his name but he was super nice and he placed it really well. But other done that, don't come here. Bulldogz is more professional and have higher quality jewelry. Plus they don't charge extra for titanium. What a waste of $$$

Same thing happened to me as Elaine T.

I had gotten my nose pierced about a month ago  at Bulldogs and wanted to change it to a hoop. I was in the mall and had already bought a hoop at Hot Topic but since I didn't get to ask about sizes I returned it and came to Body Jewlz to ask for advice on what would be the right fit.
I walk in and an older man aproaches me and asks me if I needed help. I informed him of my situation telling him I don't know anything about the sizes and if he knew what would be the best one for me. He walks me over to the case and picks up a container and tells me those are the right size since I dont want them to be too loose. Since the man sounded like he knew what he was talking about I believed he truly knew the product and the hoop would fit. So I buy two.

I get home and try it on and the hoop doesn't even go all the way around. I get frustrated since I had specifically asked for advice on WHAT SIZE to get. I didn't just walk in and just buy whatever.

I go back to the store and TRY to explain what had happened and immediately the same man cuts me off and gets all defensive and starts to argue with me. Obviously if you tell me something is going to fit, I am going to believe you know your product. You work at a piercing/tattoo shop, you should know what you're talking about. And if you don't and are only a cashier, cool, tell me who to talk to. So obviously I wanted a refund or atleast an exchange if I not only bought one, but I bought two believing that I would have NO PROBLEMS. There was another man with him that politely apologized for not being able to get me a refund, which I appreciated. But the man who was arguing with me saying "I know nothing about the hoop sizes, why would you ask me?", if you didnt KNOW then why not say, "Sorry Im not sure, let me get a piercer to help you", you know? Atleast have the balls to admit you were in the wrong and apologize  for it. I get that you can't give me a refund even though I ASKED FOR HELP. But to argue with a customer who had seeked for advice and all you wanted to do was make a sale, bullsht!

ALL IN ALL, NEVER SHOPPING AT ANY BODY JEWLZ AGAIN. IF YOU NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP GO TO BULLDOGS. THEY KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING.

THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON PURCHASES, THE BUSINESS ITSELF AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. **I would give them a ZERO if I could..

I came in to purchase belly rings to replace the one I was pierced with. I have an appendicitis surgery scar above my naval so I had to get it pierced slightly longer than 'normal'. I've been searching high and low and someone at Claire's recommended that I try this place. I trusted her judgment and went in. I walked straight to the belly ring window and was quickly approached by an associate. I asked him if they had longer curved barbells for my unique piercing and he didn't seem to know what i was talking about. I then asked him if they had a 16 gauge 7/16 size and he said they were ALL THAT SIZE. Welp, I ASSUMED an associate of a specialty store such as this one would know his product and could not have so boldly stated that ALL of them were that size.. so I went on and purchased two.

**Also another error the associate made: He informed me of the promotion: "2 for $25 for the ones on the left and 2 for $30 for the ones on the right". I asked him if I could get one on either side for $25 just to see if he'd give me a deal. He said YES. So I picked a simple one on the left and a fancier one from the right. We went to the register to make the purchase and he types in $30.. with tax $32~. I pointed this out and he acted like he was aloof the whole time.. "Umm.. I thought you said they were $25". He responds, "Uhh, no, this one is 2 for $30"... I respond "okay.. well... can I exchange the cheaper one then if you're still going to charge me for the expensive one anyway?" His response, "um, okay." -________-

Aside from the incompetent associate who clearly is untrained and poorly managed.. a much older man stood by him leaning on the counter picking his teeth like he owned the place... which I assumed he did. As I was making the purchase, I asked to make sure, " So that was $32. 59, correct?" and this sleezy looking man rudely and jokingly replies, "No for you it's a million dollars"

This guy gave me the creeps.. and it seemed like he was a very mean manager. His associate looked terrified of him..

    AFTERMATH

When I got home, I took one of the piercings out to compare the sizing just to be sure since it would be weird to do that in the store AND because I had been wearing a dress in the store. To my surprise.. the piercing was far too small compared to my current one... great. So I immediately call the store and tell them about my issue and ask to return it. The same old sleezy guy from earlier picks up and DARES TO TALK BACK TO ME and on top of that, after I explained what I asked his associate for and what he told me, he said NO SUCH THING EXISTS. Okay, MAYBE it's UNCOMMON for anyone to carry a 16g but a 7/16 certainly EXISTS. I explain this to him and he still argues back and says I can't return or exchange because it's against the law. WELL I NEED MY MONEY BACK BECAUSE YOU FALSELY SOLD ME THESE. It's not the point whether or not that exists.. it's the fact that I asked for something and your associate told me that was what you had--basically selling me the wrong item and falsely claiming that it is that size to make the sale. ON TOP OF THAT, as a manager or owner, supervisor or WHATEVER, YOU DO NOT talk to a customer like that no matter how much attitude they give you! ON TOP OF THAT, it is your duty as a business to state or verbally notify the customer if it is a FINAL SALE. DUH. This is how you avoid shit like this happening and unhappy customers. ALSO, EDUCATE YOUR DAMN EMPLOYEES.

I would have been completely content if he was nice about it and maybe let me exchange or SOMETHING. This guy is unacceptable. I do see them going out of business if this is how they deal with customers.

Sorry for the essay.. this was just a very frustrating encounter. NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN. IDC IF EVERYTHING ELSE THEY DO IS GOOD. I WON'T SUPPORT A BUSINESS WITH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This review is strictly based on a few purchases I made last week so please take that into consideration.

I must have looked like a lost mall patron when I stepped in here with my 2 month old and stroller in tow. I was actually on my way to Hot Topic to see if they had what I was looking for but I'm so glad this store's sign "tattoos & piercings" (or was it the other way around?) distracted and lured me to come here instead. My daughter's stroller probably wouldn't fit in Hot Topic anyway. I was greeted by eye contact and a "hello" when we entered the store. I wonder if the guy was ready to give me directions to [insert mommy & me type of store here] or something since a young parent with a stroller in there looks pretty out of place in that "What a dumb and immature mom!" kind of way. I wasn't there to get a new piercing or tattoo anyway. We were at the mall for a totally different reason and I decided on a whim to see if there were any stores I could find some body and ear jewelry I needed since we were already there. Maybe it was because I knew what I wanted when I first got there but the service I was provided with was pretty decent and helpful. I needed legit jewelry for my tragus piercings since I've been using standard stud earrings for many lazy years. I finally couldn't stand all the ear wax building up inside my ears on the butterfly backs of the earrings I was using once I started to feel and hear like I was getting deaf by ear wax. Eww, I know. I also got a regular jeweled, navel banana barbell for myself just so I could wear it as motivation for me to get rid of all my stomach gut. (My belly button piercing hole, the top one, at least, still exists after giving birth to two beautiful children. Nice!) The guy was nice and didn't try to sell me anything else I didn't need. I didn't even know this store existed and I was pretty red in the face when I asked him how long they've been at Valley Fair and he said "about 2 years." I told him the truth in that damn, I haven't been to VF mall in that long?! Or at least the second floor. Haha. I am already a faithful customer to a different tattoo shop with no intention to ever go elsewhere so I honestly can't tell you how the tattoos and piercings are at this place. I'm just happy with the customer service I received while buying some things from here, though.

Came here about 2 years ago. Incredibly disappointed. They are sanitary that's a plus but I came here to get my navel pierced and about 2 weeks later it came out. Went to a friend who does body piercing and asked if the guy used a clamp and I said no, which is the reason my piercing came out. Plus they are way over priced!!! Do not recommend!

Okay, overall a great experience. The shop is very well kept, extremely clean and sanitized (which I hold A LOT of value to if your putting something in, on, or around my body). The woman who did my actual piercing was amazing, great sense of humor while still professional, very knowledgable, and I didn't feel A THING when she gave me my piercing. I wish I remembered her name so I could call her out personally, but the best I can say to identify her is she was slightly older then the rest of the crew, and had blue hair/highlights. You were awesome! I'd come back to you ANY day.

I feel obligated to give this establishment 4 stars instead of 5 because of the associate who helped me at the register. Again, I wish I had a name so I didn't have to result to crude descriptions, but she was an Asian girl with a chin piercing, I think.

Understand this was my first ever piercing. I was (and still remain) as green as you can be. Definitely nervous, and clearly as vanilla as they come, especially since I'm a guy. I wanted to just do one ear lobe piercing, and when I told this to the associate she was very judgmental and callous over this fact. She tried to persuade me to do both ears, and I can tell it was costing her all her strength to refrain from saying "that will look stupid." This type of attitude proceeded through the whole ordeal, and I was just thrown into this process.

Clearly I had not done this before, and my trepidation could not have been more obvious. I wanted a little more hand holding. Walk me through the process, will it be painful, give me some options as far as earrings are concerned, talk about the cleaning process, tell me the price options, etc. She held up this trey with tiny little studs/balls for earrings. I wanted something with a little more, you'll pardon the phrase, 'bling' in it. I felt like I really had to work it out of her to show me the more "diamond" options of earrings. Surely a guy asking for an earring with a diamond look to it, isn't a first.

She was just very clinical, and rude the entire time. Made me feel stupid for wanted a single ear pierced rather then both. Then tried to tell me since I was "already paying for both, you may as well get bot ears done." What? Why are you trying to talk me out of the piercing I had already decided on. I'm not buying a pair of socks miss, I'm putting a hole in my body. I don't need a "deal." I've spent $200 on jeans, $400 on a new iPhone, I don't think THIS is the place to be stingy.

I didn't know I was spending $65 on the entire process until she rang up the total on the register. And I bought some of that "H2Ocean" cleaning solution, which she also didn't really explain. I was grateful I had a VERY experienced friend with me to explain a lot, because this sales associate was absolutely terrible.

Bottom line: definitely come here, again the establishment is clearly well kept and professional. And the actual piercing process was extremely painless and even fun. Just, if you can avoid it, keep away from the aforementioned associate. Rude, unncessarily cold, judgemental, and completely half-a**ed the entire transaction with me. I will stay clear of her should I decide to come back for the other ear.

These people do not know what they are doing.  Staff is very rude and unprofessional.  I wanted to know what size my gauges were because I had gotten them mixed up with another pair but I knew they were a 8 or 6.  He tried to tell me they were a size 2 which they obviously weren't.  I asked if I could see the size 4 and he rudely said, "Why do you wanna get smaller ones??" so I said "Well I'm pretty sure these aren't a size two so I'm actually going bigger"  he looked at me like I was the stupid one so I said "Let me see the size 2 gauge" and I took out my gauge, the size 2 gauge was clearly bigger than my gauge.  The guy didn't even admit that he was clearly wrong.
Still bought some gauges just because I desperately needed some but will never return and I recommend no one else does either.

Off a spontaneous idea, my friends and I went here so I could get a naval piercing. I'm surprised this place even has 3.5 stars. When we first walked in, we were greeted by one of the female workers who was friendly, but rather unprofessional about it, she was dancing around, getting up and down on the couch. Now, the manager/boss, the older man was a complete asshole. As I've read in some of these reviews. He was hella pushy about my friends getting their cartilages because they considered getting one with me. He kept hovering and he was veeerryy rude, He asked my friend to get it done and she said another time and he kept pushing her saying he'd give her $20 off if she did it but said he "couldn't" give me a discount. His overall tone was just eerie and.. eww

Since my friends and I drove all the way out to Valley Fair from Milpitas, I figured I might as well get it done. I went up to pay and the boss tried persuading me to pay for the titanium one, and although it's probably better, I didn't want to spend an extra penny there so I stuck to the stainless steel. Nor did I purchase a cleanser/spray from them.

The piercing experience itself was.. a bit weird. I'll admit the guy was nice, but again unprofessional. He has a very sarcastic sense of humor. And a lot of weird ass shit was coming out of his mouth, he said he hears voices and shit like that. My friends asked me if I was scared and he said he was. and that he's always scared. Even if jokingly, I dont think a piercer should say stuff like that. Anyway, he marked my tummy and I confirmed it was straight, and he pierced it. They do not use a clamp to pierce your stomach if anyone wondered.  After, he very nonchalantly went over how to take of it, and my friends and I dipped out hella quick. I went home to take a longer look at it.. it's about 95% straight.. it goes more to the right side; confirmed by 2 of my friends and my mom. wtf right? I went home and told my brother about it and he told me his gf got it done there as well and had a similar experience.

I will never come back, Nor would I ever recommend this place. Once again, unprofessional, pricey, creepy as fck, and clearly, didn't do a good job. Was this not spontaneous, I probably would have went to bulldogs as their customer service is much better.

He has done my belly button, and my teardrop diamond by my eye he also has done my moms eyebrow. I have nothing to complain about maybe thats because I'm not the type to complain.. But overall I love Matt and hes great at what he does. And id recommend him if you end up going to this shop.

After having not great experiences at this place two times in a row, I don't think I'll be going back.
The first time I went there just to get a new nose stud. The gentleman didn't even look at my nose and bent the bar and I paid and left. I didn't think anything of it until I got home later to change out the jewelry. Sure enough, it wouldn't go in because the bend on the bar was too shallow and wouldn't even go all the way through to the other side of my nostril so I could get it in. Anyway, didn't feel like going back that time so I just took it as a loss.

So yesterday, I decided I wanted to put plugs back in my ears after having nothing in my ears for like 4 years. I went in not knowing what size gauge they were because its been a while since i've worn gauged jewelry, and so the owner had me stick a pen in my ear for reference which I thought was odd and slightly unsanitary, but i've definitely put my share of pens in there back in the day so I didn't care about that.  Anyway he said I was about a 2G so I picked out 3 pairs of double flared plugs, and  the owner kept trying to talk to me and hustle me (thats what it felt like) and I just wanted to look at the dang jewelry.

Anyway I needed a new nose ring again since I lost my last one so I decided to just get one since I was there. I told the guy who was bending it what happened last time, and if he could make sure it was bent far enough back so it would go all the way through. He looked at my nose and bent it and I paid for everything and went on my way. So I go to try my new jewelry and I couldn't get the plugs in because the flares were too big, and the nose ring...guess what! Same thing as last time! The bar was bent so close to the tip/end of the bar idk how anyone would be able to get that in. So i went back upstairs to the shop and politely as I could explained that this nose ring wouldn't go in, because it is the same way the other person had bent it before. The bended portion of the bar is literally not long enough to get to the other side of the hole in my nose.  I've had my nose pierced for 7 years, so I know my piercing pretty well and  I have already had this experience before. They made it seem like I was asking a ton of work to just rebend the stupid thing, and he eventually just gave me a new, longer one all together.

When I told him about the plugs, and asked for a smaller size,  he just said they wouldn't go in because they are double flared. I know this. My ears have been stretched since I was 15, and they were at 5/16 at one point. All I wanted was a smaller size so that I could get the double flares in.  And he goes "well they are going to shrink if you do that." But no they are not because I haven't had any sort of gauge in my ear for 4 years and they are still not smaller, they will never shrink back down to normal. And I really don't care what size they are anyway because I'm just putting jewelry in so my ear lobes don't look disgusting all the time. He finally just exchanged the ones I hadn't tried to put in my ears for a 4G and those went in perfectly and fit and look great.

Just seemed like it was made into a bigger hassle then it needed to be.

I'll stick to my regular piercers :)

I visited here to get my ear cartilage and lower ear pierced again. Matt was calm, friendly and it was over before I knew it. In the past my ears have gotten extremely infected thus the re-piercings, but nothing has happened so far after Body Jewlz! It's a little pricey: $35 for each piercing with a standard earring (there's a fee chart). It cost me $105 for three piercings after I got a little reduction of fee. They recommend their sea salt spray. If you get it, spray it on when you're laying in bed because it drips down your ear, but it's good for a hands-off clean. Highly recommend if you want a hassle free experience!

LIERS, A** HOLES AND UNPROFESSIONAL!! Absolutely hate this place, i bought a $35 dermal top for my dimple and paid an extra $5 for them to put it on. He starts by almost ripping it out and than proceeds to make me bleed by that time i said you need to stop if you dont know what your doing. He replies with a dumb luagh and says your anchor is bent. Sure it is buddy. I go to my normal wonderful amazing piercing shop, body exotic, and i get my anchor CUT OUT to see if it is bent and of course its not, the top the sold me is to big. I go back the next day and the OWNER told me his piercers are the best and im wrong and ignorant, really? When i pulled my anchor out of my purse and showed him he said nothing, but he sure had alot to say when i asked for a refund. To sum up this crap place i didnt get my money back and have never walked into thier shop ever again even to just buy jewelry like the first time. They suck at doing piercings and  selling you the right stuff.

First belly piercing and it went great! I know some have reviewed that the older gentleman at the front wasn't very friendly, but, if it's the same guy I saw today, he either changed his tune or was just having a better day.

Matt was the guy who did the piercing and he was SUPER GREAT! He was very nice and easy to talk to and that definitely helped ease my nerves a bit. I also figured he had to be an expert since he had tons of piercings himself...so, who better to do the job, right? It actually took longer to fill out the waiver form than it did for the actual piercing itself. =)

Of course it pinched a little, but, hey, that's only natural. I went for the titanium jewelry just to be a little extra safe in the healing process and got the spray that's supposed to be used 2x a day for the next 8 months. it's a little long, but, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I think $59 out the door for jewelry, piercing, and spray is a good deal.

Overall great experience and I was in and out in 10 min. It's also nice that Matt assured me that I could come back if I happened to have any questions or issues. Awesome, right?

I dont remember the gentlemans name that pierced us, but he was very helpful and answered our questions. The piercing wasnt too painful either. :) The guy at the front counter, the older guy was a little standoffish but nevertheless, it was an awesome expierence. We will be coming back here! I came here in May to get my Septum re-pierced. I got it the first time at another shop, which I totally recommend I just wasn't in the area to go there again. Anyways, when I came here, the workers were somewhat uninterested. They came off as rude, and like they just wanted to get the piercing over with.. A girl pierced me, I forgot her name; but she's the short one with brown hair. Now, I have been professionally pierced 13 times.. I know a good piercer. Since this was my first time at this shop, I was asking pretty standard questions, how long she has been piercing for, stuff like that. Now she has been professional for about 5 years she's said. Seems legit..

All piercers pierce differently, thats understandable. She started by having me sit on the chair in the private room. She marked where she was going to pierce, she although couldn't go through my last septum hole because it closed. Anyways, she started piercing my septum.. The slowest piercing I've ever had. My nose was gushing blood. I never bleed in piercings, even the first time I got my septum done it was fast barley hurt didn't bleed at all. She put the jewelry in, sat there for a minute looking at it and said "I don't like the way this sits" so she takes it out and RE PIERCED IT. I don't pay $55 to have you pierce my septum twice cos you messed up the first time. Incredibly unprofessional.

On top of all of that, I have never been to a parlor that doesn't provide any cleaning substances. Every time I've got pierced they give you a guideline on how to clean it, and they go over it with you. Along with the bag of salt to clean your new piercing. I do not recommend this shop, and I would NEVER get anything done here again.

I love this place. I got my tragus, conch and rook done here. All healed perfectly well, a little tissue bumps(but mostly from my forgetting to clean it) but they went away fast.

The service may be a bit pushy, but hey, its at the mall, what did you really expect. Plus, almost every piercing place is pushy, especially fatty zone, which is known for really good piercings.

Matt the piercer is great and if i ever have a problem, I come in and he fixes it. Even though it costs five dollars, it does every where else too.

I think if you had a bad experience here you could have easily had it somewhere else, some people just reject piercings more easily than others, or swell more than others. And considering the tough competition between shops, if you go to another place to ask their opinion, i can garuntee they will bad mouth or find something bad to say about the other shop.

I just went into body jewelz and they are in the middle of making ALL their jewelry TITANIUM. which is really good.

I love this place and will keep getting pierced here.

AND THEY HAVE REALLY CUTE JEWELRY AT A GOOD PRICE.

These 4 stars are for Matt, the dude who pierced my ears.He was super friendly, professional, and completely eased my nerves. The only thing that kind of sucked was the no after care solution, but he gave a very simple and effective home solution. I would DEFINITELY come here again.

I came in here for my second set of lobe piercings because my usual shop (Staircase in Santa Cruz) told me that the cost for lobe piercings wasn't worth it to get it done there. I wanted my lobes done with a needle, as my first experience when I was 5 was horribly botched with a gun.

$48 for a second set of lobe piercings, kind of ouchie (better than $100 though).

As someone with 13 body piercings and 3 tattoos, I consider myself pretty well informed on what a good shop will have.

Pros: Clean shop, fast and friendly service. No worries about this location being dirty, it's quite spotless.

Cons: Because of my body piercings, he made the assumption that I knew how to care for them. Correct, but no aftercare sheet OR cleanser? That's what made me give this place an "eh" review, because that's standard no matter how many body mods you may already have. Better safe than sorry.

Verdict: I would come to this location for minor piercings, ie. Lobes, belly button, maybe nostril, but leave the rest to a location outside of a busy mall. One of the pictures on here is of a really badly done industrial - the bar shouldn't be showing out the sides of the ear like that! If you're going to get a serious piercing (most cartilage piercings, dermals etc) go to a more reputable place.

I went here to get my belly piercing today.

It felt as if it were a pinch, and my piercer made decent conversation to take the pressure off.

The whole experience only took about a minute. It would have been only $35, but I decided to upgrade to titanium and get the sea salt spray for better healing, so it came out to $55.

As of right now, my belly piercing is a little red and sore, but I'm sure it will heal soon enough.

I was only told that I couldn't touch for 6-8 months, how to clean it, but wasn't informed about how I couldn't swim for a month or so. Make sure to ask questions!

I got my belly button pierced here and it's on straight. It was quick and painless. I didn't have any problems and in fact it healed immediately. Everyone's body is different so I wouldn't expect another person to have the same piercing with the same experience as me. The only complaint I have is  for the people in the front their customer service was ridic. Girl was trying to hussle me into getting a piercing (lip piercing) when I was only asking a couple of questions about it. The owner wasn't very friendly either but hey they aren't doing my piercing so I'm fine with that you win some you lose some. I mean it's in a mall I can't really expect much and for the price too. Besides that... the guy who pierced me I think his name was Matt did a terrific job. Thanks!

    DO NOT GO HERE.

So about four weeks ago I got my tragus pierced here.
    It was overall a disaster.
I went in and it was my first time ever getting pierced. No one there is particularly nice, in fact they were kind of pushy.
Anyway, so he pierced it and nothing terrible happened right away. Beyond the fact that the place gave me no after care instructions, as soon as I was pierced they pretty much wanted me out.
A few weeks passed and one day the front/ jewel just fell out and I lost it. It hurt so much because it wasn't suppose to be changed. At that point I probably should've realized this place was sketch but instead I went back to get a new jewel put in.
When i got there the guy who had originally pierced me was not there and there was a girl piercer. She was probably the most rude person I have met in a while. She was pushy, did not care I was in pain and the owner was not there so she most likely was acting worse than she normally does.
Anyway she picked out a new front to put in and was basically rolling it around in her bare hands. She cleaned it off but I don't think well enough. When she screwed it in it hurt worse than when I got it pierced.
2 weeks after that some weird abyss started growing around my tragus. I went to a different and BETTER place (if you want to know where, message me and I'll tell you where to go)
Long story short the guy ended up having to remove my tragus piercing. Blood and pus went everywhere and as of right now I have  a huge red scab that I have to soak 2 times per day in sea salt water. The real kicker is that it had nothing to do with me- the bar that he guy pierced me with and put in my ear was too short for my tragus. Places at the mall can put anything in your ear as long as it is a certain grade metal. The guy just picked the wrong size (they only have two) and my piercing was destined to get messed up.
If I had waited a few more days, my ear would have swelled up and engulfed the piercing and I would have needed surgery.

I know this may seem like an alarmist review but I think anyone who gets pierced here and doesn't have a problem is just getting lucky. Do not go to this place unless you want bad service and a terrible experience.

I was really hesitant about getting a piercing in a mall...i had promised my younger sister that I'd take her to get her cartilage piercing. Originally I had chosen my previous piercing place (Pierced Out)  but my sister wanted to save me money by choosing a cheaper place. $35 for a piercing. The old man in the front gave us a "deal" by giving us diamond studs. We got pierced by Matt, cool guy but horrible job on the piercing. I got my mid cartilage pierced and my sister and cousin got their upper cartilage. Both of theirs came out fine but they keep having mild complications to this day. MINE however is not healing properly at all. It's been well over two months. I had gone back to my original piercing place the other day to get another piecing and my piercer asked me who pieced my ear. She told me its crooked and that it will be hard to heal. My ear is still swollen and it is always a pain to deal with.

Yeah, $35 for a piercing is pretty cheap but honestly you get what you pay for. Shitty piercings. Without hesitanting I'd much rather pay $75 for this piercing at Pierced Out. Screw body jewlez and their awful piercing services

I regret ever getting pierced here. It all ended up being a waste of money (I went here to save money in the first place). Here's why:
I had my eyebrow pierced here. Even though I cared for it well, it never was able to heal right, so I  decided to take it out. The ball was screwed on extremely tightly, so I went back to Body Jewlz to have them take it out. They informed me that they would charge me 5 dollars to unscrew something they had screwed too tightly in the first place, so I left. I ended up stopping by a place on haight street in SF later on, and they took it out without charging me. They informed me that the jewelry was cheap, and the threading of the jewelry was probably what irritated it and prevented it from healing properly.

I also had my rook pierced here (its a piece of cartilage inside the ear). I came in knowing I wanted to pierce my cartilage, but I wasn't sure where. The guy (I can't remember his name, but he has eyes tatooed on his eyelids) convinced me to pierce my rook. He said that it would look good and he hadn't done one in a while, so he wanted to do it. I asked him how painful it would be, and he replied, "I wouldn't hurt you. It will be easy." That was a complete lie. I have many piercings, including piercings in sensitive areas, and nothing was as bad as getting my rook pierced at body jewlz. I almost fainted because the pain was so intense. The piercing bled for days, and despite the care I gave it, it was not healed months later. In fact, one day and my piercing (which was already not doing well) was swollen, red, painful, and pussy. I decided to look up a good shop, and I went to one in Oakland (sacred tattoo, I highly recommend it). The lady there looked at it and was surprised at how bad it looked. The tissue around the balls of the barbell was so swollen, it had started to swallow up the piercing, which means she had a really hard time taking it out. She told me that the jewelry was much, much to small for me, and that was what had caused all my problems. (Also note, I got this piercing almost 6 months ago, so it should have been reasonably healed by now.) It was so difficult for her to take out that it took a few minutes. There was so much pressure in the area built up from the jewelry being to small, that it was extremely painful. In fact, it was so painful that I cried, sweated, and got dizzy. She put in longer jewelry so there would be room for the swelling to lessen, and enough room for healing. Immediately I felt better. Also, she only charged me 10 dollars for high quality jewelry, and didn't charge me for the time she spent working with me. She cared about getting my piercing in good shape, unlike the employees at Body Jewlz. Also, I bought nipple bars at body jewlz, which began to fall apart after a month. (all of the crystals fell out one by one)

Never get pierced here, and you should probably never even buy jewelry here.

I haven't been pierced here, but I came here with a friend who got her rook done. The older guy at the desk was super pushy & a bit rude, but the girls who work there are super friendly - one spent a good 10 - 15 minutes answering my friend's questions about a piercing she wanted.

Matt was really professional and nice - he kept up a steady stream of conversation going as he prepared the instruments, which I love because it keeps my mind off the stabbing that's going to come.

The piercing was quick & it didn't even look red afterward! My friend said that she wasn't sore at all - & Matt even cleaned up some blood from one she'd had done the previous week.

I'll definitely be back next time I get the urge to pierce something!

I have never given a 1 star review, but I have also NEVER been treated more poorly at a business! I walked into Body Jewlz on a whim during my shopping trip to ask a quick question about my helix piercing. I was talking to the man I can only assume was the owner, and I told him that I hadn't been able to unscrew the jewelry that had been used when I initially got my ear pierced elsewhere, and I needed some help with it.

Instead of treating me with the respect and kindness that I offered him, the man rudely asked, "ARE YOU GOING TO BUY SOMETHING?" If he had coated his bark with any sugar whatsoever, I actually would have considered buying a replacement (as I have something in mind), and I would have also considered getting another piercing, too! But the way he treated me was absolutely unconscionable; When I replied, doubtfully, "Well, I already have the one in my ear..." he started ranting about how his piercers will only touch you if you buy jewelry from the store, and the only thing they will do is put new jewelry in. All I wanted was for someone to unscrew the thing because I can't get a grip on it by myself. Seriously, nbd. Needless to say, I walked out shaking my head.

Advice for business owners, from a customer's POV: when you provide a VERY small service for someone, like adjusting their jewelry in good faith, you will earn a loyal customer for life! On the other hand, when you try to nickel and dime someone, they will get royally pissed off.

Maybe these guys know how to pierce (I'm sure they do!!), but I wouldn't know, because the owner's attitude prevented me from finding out. And hey, maybe there is some sort of legal reason they couldn't even take a look at my ear, but if so, the owner could have explained that cordially. In any case, I look forward to taking my business back to Pierced Out when I am next in the area.

Just went and had my septum pierced. First piercing I've had since I was a baby when i had my ears pierced. Matt, the piercer  was kind and respectful and also playfully told some jokes to make the situation less tense. He kept talking the whole time and kept my mind occupied. He asked me to take a deep breath, as I did I coughed right in his face and the tears started flowing, but in the end he told me I did well and gave me a congratulatory hug. All in all I had a pleasant experience and would recommend and see him again for all my piercing needs. Thank you Matt.

My friend and I came here yesterday. First we went to Bulldogs, but their piercer wasn't there. We called a few other places to check their prices before going here. We finally came here because the price seemed reasonable. When we came in we were greeted by the owner,I believe. He asked us what we wanted and asked for our ID's. Signed a few forms, waited for what seemed to be 30 minutes and then finally got our piercings. I got my lip pierced. It was like a pinch. My friend got 2 dermal piercings. The guy that pierced us was very professional. I didn't get his name, but he had a bunch of tattoos and piercings.

They were really nice here. I didn't know that I could buy a lip ring and have them pierce it with it too. I realized that after I got my piercing and the guy re pierce my lip to replace the lip ring he had put on me before.

Overall great experience! I don't think I want anything else pierce so this may probably be my first and last time. Unless I decide I want something else pierced.

Today I went back with my girlfriends and got a quadruple forward helix. I have over 10 piercings, and Matt is by far the best piercer that I have ever been to. I just stopped in to pick out jewelry for my tragus piercing. What should've been a simple shopping experience turned into a bad one. The guy who helped me was the tattoo artist and when i asked him to help me pick something out he was extremely rude and demeaning- he just made one rude comment after another to me! I then witnessed him being very rude to two other customers, who were also shocked at his attitude. I would've given this place one star, but the manager was very nice and so was the girl who changed my earring for me.

I came here a little over a week ago to get my industrial piercing. I decided to be spontaneous after doing a little shopping & came in without any knowledge of what to expect. I believe it was Matt who did my piercing. He was really friendly and energetic. Since I had small ears, I told him I wanted a barbell that would complement my ear. He then showed me with a mirror how the barbell he chose would look against my ear. I was happy with the size, so he proceeded by disinfecting my ear and making two small dots showing where the piercing would go through.

I was super nervous at this point because I had no idea how painful it was going to be. He told me to take a deep breath and as I exhaled, he made the first piercing with the needle. It wasn't that bad at all! He then told me to take another deep breath and pushed the needle to make it go through the second hole. There was a little more pain, but it went away within seconds. After he screwed in the balls, I was relieved that it was over. My ear felt hot & was throbbing after.. but nothing unbearable.

After I told my friend about it, she wanted me to get the tragus piercing with her the following week. I decided to go for it. Apparently piercings can get quite addicting -_- Anyhow, I am very happy with both piercings. I clean it twice a day and there are no sign of infections. Just make sure you don't accidentally hit it because it hurts like a mother ___! It took me a few days to train my brain to avoid that area.

I decided to get another piercing yesterday - random craving since I took out my nape piercing over the summer.

I'm somewhat hesitant to be going to stores in the mall for piercings, but I must say I'm pretty impressed. I went in to the shop after work to check it out. I was greeted immediately since it wasn't very busy, and filled out the form to get my rook pierced. As soon as I was done filling out the form, I waited only about 5 minutes, then Matt took me to the room to do my piercing. I has my 2 friends come with me to watch, and I'll admit I was a bit nervous. Matt was constantly making little jokes to ease my nerves. He cleaned my ear, then marked it with a pen. It looked all good, so got all set up to pierce. The piercing went super smoothly...Matt told me when to take a deep breath, then as soon as I let it out, I was done. Probably my most painful ear piercing, but not too bad either way.

Piercing looked great. After I was done, I felt pretty light-headed, so Matt got me a shot of water and told me to take my time before I stood up. As relaxing a setting as it could have been to get the piercing done.

I convinced one of my friends to get a piercing about an hour later. We went back to the shop after grabbing a bite to eat, and Matt helped her figure out what she should get. Same thing, he did the piercing super quick, and was very easy-going during the whole process.

I would definitely go back to get more piercings. Hopefully my rook heals beautifully!

I've been waiting and wanting a lip and naval piercings for a long time. Yesterday I finally decided to get it, since I just got paid the day before. I did my own investigation with prices and calling all the piercing places off of yelp in my area.

I did get various prices for the same piercing. Of course, I went with the cheapest in price which is Body Jewlz. $35 for each piercing and their PROMO 3 for $80.

I brought one of my closest friends, Ramona. We both came to the Valley Fair location, and was very excited. Walked in and noticed how bright the store and immediately went to look at the glass cabinets. Browsed around then got in line to talk to the man behind the counter. I told him I was planning on getting the 3 for $80 PROMO deal. He asked me for an ID and gave me a clipboard to fill out my information. He asked what piercings I plan on getting: 2 lip and 1 naval.

Waited for my turn and was sooo nervous. I only had my earlobes ever pierced when I was like 9 at CLAIRES. The piercer was very nice and try to calm my nerves down. We walked into a small room to the right and I smelled metal. It was because there was a girl getting a tattoo done in the same room. Her chair was on the opposite side of where I was to be seated.

So, the piercer let me choose a color for the naval and I chose periwinkle :] Afterwards he asked me which I would want first ; lip or naval. I asked which is harder? He just said let's go with the naval. My nerves were getting bigger and bigger. First, he needed to disinfect the areas I was getting pierced, plus he used a marker to dot the piercing spot. I laid on the chair and he explained to breathe in and out. I thought it would've hurt alot more, like I would've cried. But it wasn't painful at all! I was so glad. The only thing was, a little bleeding occurred after I got pierced.

He changed the chair into a sitting position, so he could go ahead and do the lip piercings. He went ahead and made 2 small black dots under the left side of my lip (where I wanted). Showed me the dots, which were right next to each other. I explained to him I wanted a spider bit, which was spaced a bit. He said that the piercings next to each other would look better "stacked". I looked at it again and was like mhmm okay. ( I still had doubt and wanted it space) When he first needle went into my lip, it was hot. He had to thread the stud into place. Then went ahead and with the second piercing. He showed my the mirror, and I looked at it. ( I still didn't like the fact they were touching). I was going to see if it would grow on me. I thanked the piercer and was on my merry way out with my bottle of H2Ocean Spray. I could feel the swelling up tissues on my lip more than my naval. I noticed my naval was still bleeding, but decided to clean it once I get to my friend's house.

    UPDATE**

I called today around 11 am, stating that I was unsatisfied with the placement of my lip piercing. I explained how I got the 3 for $80 PROMO deal, and I have the receipt to prove my situation. The man on the phone explained I can come in and talk to the piercer about my piercing. I show up around 12pm and waited for my turn to talk to the piercer, Matt. Went to the little room in the back, I explained I wasn't very satisfied with the placement of the piercing. That I wanted it a little lower or spaced out more. I did say spider bite, he said "I don't know what the slang terms are nowadays". I was kind of shocked at this, because if a person works in the piercing business, you would need to know what all the names are of piercings. What made me feel mad was that, there was another guy in the room while I was explaining, the piercer seemed like he was getting irritated because I wanted my piercing to be spaced down. He explained, well you want me to take it off? It looks good, and there's nothing wrong with it. He explained I would have it removed and come back in 6 weeks and get re-pierced, but it would cost me more. So another $35.

I know there's nothing wrong with the piercing, it's just that the fact I paid for the piercings and not happy with the outcome. The fact I have to shell out more money out of my pocket, was ridiculous. I told him I have to call someone about this and walked out.

Like seriously, he was pushing his own opinion that the "stacked" look would be better. And when I come in to complain about my dissatisfaction with the piercing I get a rude attitude from the piercer. I appreciate his kindness and his advice, but I didn't get the result I paid for. I'm very furious how he showed his lack of customer service to my unhappiness with the result. I might have to go elsewhere for my future piercings or a different location.

and this is after the swelling went down and all the blood was cleaned up.

wow..im in shock that this place has more than two stars.

worst experience with this "piercing" shop.

after seeing a super cute picture of a triple inner helix i decided to come here to get it done, thinking that it would be cheaper than going to a high-end piercing shop. i had heard horrible stories about this place, but being a risk-taker, i decided to go here anyways.

first off, the piercer (blonde guy) looked super hesitant but decided to do it anyways. he ended up putting the same jewelry as a nose stud in my ear (same size and length). he kept yanking at each piercing (3 total) to get the hooks hidden, which was an EXTREMELY painful experience. piercings are usually NEVER painful for me (i have 13 other ones), but this pain was to a new level. after he "finished", he told me to wait the appropriate amount of time for them to heal then to go to a DIFFERENT place, like pierced out and get different jewelry put in. UMMM?! i was still in pain from the procedure so him saying this slipped my mind at the time, but now that I think about it, it just shows how even he knows the jewelry they carry is CHEAP!

anyways, a week goes by and i notice my ear swelling..i thought nothing of it until last night when i started to experience a HORRIBLE pain. i looked in the mirror and not only was my ear bleeding and red, but my skin was swallowing up the studs that he had put in because they were so small! the piercer didn't realize that since swelling would occur, th

THANK GOD for fatty zone being so close to me. i immediately went to Mark at fattty zone and it took him about 45 minutes to remove the horrendous work that the guy at body jewelz did...if it wasn't for Mark helping me out, i'd be in the ER having a doctor perform surgery on my ear.

    Update:

My friend and I decided to get our tongues pierced. It was the usual coming up to customers and asking them what they could help you with and we told the piercer with the blonde hair and really big gauges that we'd like tongue piercings

My friend went first and I went second. When I got mine done, he put WAY too much of that purple ink onto my tongue. When he pierced it, it stained my entire tongue purple, along with my lips. It might've because I drooled, but my second friend got his tongue pierced and he drooled, but the purple ink did NOT stain his entire tongue, at all. In addition to that, HE PIERCE IT CROOKED. Not even centered anymore. Super fucking crooked. When we were done, he did not even tell us how to take care of it and what we should eat and all that necessary stuff. They didn't even give us a guide to how to clean it.

Whatever. This place is located in the mall. They just want people coming in then out quickly. I liked the other piercer Ricky better. He was more caring about customer's piercings. Body Jewlz has a wide and amazing variety of jewelry though. That might be the only reason why I'll come back.

Don't let the slightly silly name or mall location fool you. These guys are spot-on and they know their shit.
JT for tattoos and Matt for piercings - both of them do seriously excellent work and they're fun to talk to on top of that. You can trust 'em with a needle, is what I'm saying.
The back room is pristine and way more professional than anything you'd expect to find at Valley Fair. It's also like right next door to Claire's, so if you're weighing your basic piercing options, IGNORE CLAIRE'S AND GO HERE INSTEAD.

This review is definitely focused around JT (the tattoo artist). Any time I come to him, he always makes my original idea 100 times better. He does crazy clean line work, AMAZING color work, and for chickens like me he has a light hand so its not as painful as other artists I've gone to. I was slightly hesitant when I heard he was tattooing out of a mall and not in some hole in the wall shop like I am used to...but the place is VERY clean and comfortable. I will forever go to JT for any future tattoos and plan on having him fix some old disasters (his cover ups are amazing too!!)

As for the rest of the shop, the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was clean and well organized. While getting the tattoo I saw some of the piercers work and he was quick and had great placement on all the jewelry. I was definitely impressed with the over all experience!

In short, go here. The tattoos are amazing and the rest of the shop is pretty awesome too!

    I LOVE MY TRAGUS PIERCING!

I went to Valley Fair Mall with my friend on 10/14 and saw this shop and was amazed that there's a Tattoo and Piercing parlor in the mall now and went in to check prices etc.

Next day 10/15 i came back and got my tragus pierced for $35
The price is ok, it's usually around this price.
    Single holes are $35
    Industrial is $40
    Dermal is $50
They also have discounts if you get 3 or more piercings

The piercer was ok, procedures were followed such as marking and showing me the mark with a mirror to make sure it was ok.
Sanitary - gloves, new needle, etc.
He's white with fairly light colored hair..dirty blonde i think.. and about 5'5. i distinctly remember the red tattoos on his eyelids though (:
I usually give tips but I wanted to observe it when I got home just to make sure that it's perfect. I'll wait until it heals and when i do like the work, I usually come back for more and will then tip em (: He also asks if you know the healing procedures and such so he can give you the info but since I knew em already there was no point in having him waste our time haha. However if you do, don't hesitate to ask. Too shy? There are plenty of info around the web! (:

Piercing was pretty quick..didn't hurt, just the usual popping sound you get when the needle goes through skin. I've had many other done but I can never get enough. For newbies, my advice is to just not think about it or think of something more painful!

I suggest going on weekdays for piercings and tattoos because a lot of people are in and out on weekends since they also sell a shitload of body jewelries.

Pretty small place, the room where they pierce and tattoo you can be seen from outside the shop. It only has two chairs and when I went, one was being tattooed and other chair is for piercing.

    OVERALL
    good for the price
quick even when there's others being pierced considering there was only one piercer

I have yet to see how my tragus piercing turns out after healing time.

    Now I'm just confused...
Went back with my boyfriend because he wanted to check it out.  Spoke with a different guy who showed us cases filled with acrylic plugs!  I have no idea why the first sales kid didn't show me that.
It's such a mixed service I don't know what to think.

Went in for a simple question and the man was sooo rude. First thing he did was criticize where I may have have gotten my other piercing. Don't go bashing other shops. It not only makes you look like a jerk, but passively insults your customers. I went to a very reputable place! I just don't live in that location anymore, so I can't go back.

Yeah, not a nice guy at all. I'd go elsewhere. Somewhere cooler then a place in a shopping mall with a rude staff.

This place is great!  I'm surprised no one has yelp this place yet.   Right when I walked in I was greeted right away.  This being my first piercing i wanted to find a place that was very knowledgable and that was also clean.  When it was time to get the piercing I went with a size 12 which was a pretty decent size to start off with.  Later on I'm planning on going up to a size 8 or 6.  The gentleman that did the piercing measured where to pierce so everything would line up and look even.  It took only a couple of seconds and that was it. They dont use the piercing guns here.  It was just straight needle.

This place has a Wide selection from gauges, tapers, plugs, studs, you name it they got it.  I got my piercing the last week of December and was really cheap.  I only paid $25.  I went last night and the owner gave me two sets of size 10 tapers for $18.  I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get some piercing done!
