I just got a matching tattoo with my best friend here the other night. We called to see if they took walk-ins, and they told us to come on in and he could squeeze us in. When we arrived, we went through portfolios and went with Weston, the tattooist working that night. We told him what we wanted, and he drew up a beautiful design that we loved. He priced the tattoo and took us back immediately. His station was super sanitary and he made us both feel at ease and relaxed, as getting a tattoo can get your nerves going! He had a steady hand and he asked from time to time if I was okay with the pain. The tattoo came out perfect, I am so in love with it! Payed a little more than I thought it would cost, but it was worth it in the end. Loved the friendliness of all the artists in the shop. Will definitely be visiting Weston again for my next tattoos!

Definitely liked it! Went in to get mine and my sisters tragus pierced. Jess pierced my sister 1st after explaining the after care and what her jewelry options would be. She pierced my sisters tragus laying down and made it as quick and painless as she could. She did a really good job. Before starting mine she explained the issue about the position of the piercing I wanted, while also giving me some options for several other positions. Jess overall made the whole experience a clean smart quick piercing. I know my sister and I will definitely be going back to Jess.

My girlfriend and I went to visit this place and were excited that they were open late on Sunday--till 10 p.m.  We got there around 8:30. Now I just want to say that Buddah Box was not our first choice. I wanted to go to Dandyland, but they were booked and not accepting walk-ins. I should have just gone home! Buddah Box is a joke.  Well let me rephrase. MATT...MATT at Buddah Box is a joke. Always get suspicious when your tattoo artist has like no tattoos. First he didn't want to allow my girl to choose the colors she wanted because he's a firm believer in black. Second, he refused to do a tiny tattoo because he said it will all blur together. Crap! He is not an artist! He is as crappy as the advice he gives.  He's an amateur! AVOID MATT!!! AVOID MATT! He doesn't know what he's doing and is deficient in skill. Go somewhere else! I recommend Lucky 13 in McAllen--see Chris.

People are very friendly and professional. But I did not like how my nose piercing fell out the next day and I didn't even touch it.

Richard is a true professional with a good sense of humor, a rare combination. He did 2 genital piercings at a very reasonable rate, both of which are exactly what I was looking for. The store was a pleasure to behold, as well, tastefully decorated, clean and very easy on the eyes. I like the idea that the walls are not covered with the typical, screaming tattoo shop designs, seen at so many other places around the nation.
He took me as a walk-in, which really helped. A highly recommended and interesting place of business. I am 55 and will definitely return for more.

The Buddha Box sets the standard by which all other tattoo shops should be judged. The minute I set foot in the place it felt like a business in which I would be comfortable allowing them to repeatedly drill a needle in to my arm.

I was impressed at the level of personality that the employees had and laid back but professional manner in which we were treated. It's not that I've been mentally abused by (most) my former tattoo artists, but I've never had one that I cared to remember their name when I left. The level of cleanliness and sterility is nothing short of clinical, as it should be. I'm not saying I'd want them to remove my appendix at the Buddha Box, but if I found myself in some life or death situation where they needed to remove it, they could, and I certainly wouldn't need to be concerned about getting an infection.

My appendix aside, each employee is also OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen certified meaning not only are they educated in universal precautions and procedures of blood exposure as well as proper sanitation for their tools, but they are also ready for the coming zombie apocalypse.

    Are you?

Buddha Box is definitely the most professional, sanitary, and all around best tattoo and piercing studio in San Antonio.  From the moment you walk into the studio there is somebody to greet you and answer all of the questions and concerns you may have about the procedure you are going to get.  The room where all the piercings and implants are done is immaculate and the set up is like a room from a doctor's office.  The tattoo rooms are sanitary as well, with separation walls for guest privacy.  I went to Buddha Box Studio to get a dermal anchor and ended up going back for a tattoo and other piercing procedures done by Jess, Richard, and Mike.  The aftercare is great as well because if you have any problems they will tell you exactly what is going on and make adjustments (for piercings) if needed.  Another thing that I personally liked was the proper scientific terminology they use when describing the procedure because it shows that they 100% KNOW what they are doing.  I will definitely keep going to Buddha Box for piercings, implants, and tattoos and hope everyone will give them a try!!!
