Bulldogs knows what'sup for piercings and I'm talking bout both locations (Tully and Capitol). I've been directing all my colleagues to their shop and they've all loved their piercing/tattoo outcomes thus so will you *thumbs up*
I got my nape done by Adrian (stationed at Capitol location) about a year ago.... and surprisingly it still hasn't gotten infected (knock on wood!) I purchased my piercing thru a groupon deal but didn't know that it didn't apply for surface piercing BUT he let it pass if I bought additional Jewerly/ cleaning products; what a steal! He was super laid back and easy to talk to as if he was a long time buddy of time; he knows how to keep his customers at ease especially if you're nervous!
I got my double tragus surface piercing done by Jason (stationed at Tully location). Jason kept it real... Unlike other piercing shops he didn't jack up the price and told me straight up not to purchase h20 cleaning products since sea salt is more effective (I just saved myself a couple bucks there!) Jason as well was super friendly and a major jokester!
Not only will you leave the shop w a new bangin piercing but a couple laughs and extra cash to splurge elsewhere woot!
I was hanging out with my friends and decided to spontaneously get a cartilage piercing. Adner pierced my cartilage and he was extremely helpful and kind. He was even patient enough to wait for me and my friends discussing which kind of piercing I should do. I ended up with an industrial and while the pain was there, it was pretty minimum. Adner really knows his work. I would definitely go again. :)
Review Source:Came into Bulldogs to get my navel and tragus' pierced and I'm Real satisfied. My piercer was ADNER who I highly recommend for any piercing. Made the experience painless, fast, and accurate. Explained each step he was doing and was just confident, which made me feel more at ease. If I ever decide where I want my next piercing I will def. go to Adner. I really appreciated the great service. =)
Review Source:Three words: ADNER ADNER ADNER. Â This place this the best place I have ever gotten a piercing. Â I had my nose pierced ten years ago, and it took at least 5 months to heal and hurt profusely. I finally let it close about two years, and I missed my nose ring. Â Last month, I decided to get it pierced again.
After looking around and searching Yelp for a few places on a Saturday night, we finally found this place. Â The other two places we had called before did not have their piercer in on a Saturday night around 5pm. Â My friend and I thought this was really weird considering lots of people probably want to "do something crazy" on a Saturday night. Â Our third called was Bulldog, and I thank our lucky stars every day that we found this place on the third try and that the other two places were closed.
This is by far the best place I have seen on the Peninsula, and maybe the country (I'm from New York) in terms of how clean the studio is, and how friendly their staff are. Â And when Adner finally did the piercing for my friend and I, we were over the moon! Â
His hand was very steady and stable and the piercing took less than one minute. Â There was no pain, and it healed within three days. Â After three weeks, my friend went back and got her nose ring changed out and it had healed perfectly. Â We both kept marveling over what a great hand Adner had and how comfortable he had made us both feel.
He answered all of our questions (even the dumb ones), was patient, friendly, and focused. Â With all the kinds of people that could come in to a piercing/tatto studio, he was able to speak to all of them in a friendly manner and never once came off as arrogant or impatient (which some employees at studios like this can do).
After spending some time there for our first piercing, and then the change out, we learned a lot about Adner - mostly, he is a terrific, sweet guy who takes his job seriously and puts in a lot of hard work and hours.
We found out Adner is there 6 days a week, from open to close (with only one day off for rest!!) Â This kind of stinks for him, but for the rest of us who need him so badly, this is great!! Â For the amount of hours Adner works, especially in Silicon Valley, he should be getting 2% equity in this place! Â I know thats what most of my friends get, and they put in the same amount of time (if not less!) in to their work. Â And most of them are not half as passionate about their work as Adner.
Yes, I am a HUGE Adner fan, and will be back for my nose piercing to be changed, and any other piercings I may need (I have been thinking about doing my eyebrow). Â They also have an amazing tattoo artist, I have heard, and based on Adner's service, I will be back to fix two tattoos I had done in New York.
It's a one stop shop for everything! :)
The only recommendation I would make is for them to have more product and jewelry for piercings because I think they could sell it right there in the shop and make a lot of money - but they only have the basic few silver piercing jewelry, which is hard for people who only wear gold (me), or who want something that has more personality. Â Right now, I am searching ebay, etsy, amazon, etc. for the perfect nose pin that has different colored stones, gold, etc. Â Girls really like to treat their piercings as jewelry (like earrings, etc.), and if this store had a more extensive selection of items, I think they could sell it along side their piercing services. Â It would make a huge difference.
THANK YOU, ADNER, AND BULLDOG LIFESTYLES FOR SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE!! Â We will be back, and I will recommend you to all my friends.
This place is terrible! I called about their e-liquids and received terrible customer service!
The guy who answered the phone was probably stoned out of his mind. He didn't know anything about the liquids, and I'm talking about simple stuff like how much percent pg/vg is in the bottles, nicotine level, etc. Oh and let's not forget that he refused to give me a price over the phone on a 10ml bottle. They don't even have a station to sample flavors to entice you on coming in. Their excuse was that they didnt have any caps for their clearomizers and if I wasn't germaphobic, then to come right in. Can you say unsanitary? Gay
At least PLATINUM VAPES will give you an end cap for the clearo and will let you sample all of the favors and will give you prices over the phone!
My first experience getting my eyebrow pierced was awesome and didn't hurt much. The pain was even less than a cartilage piercing. So I called Bulldog Lifestyles asking for the price of the eyebrow piercing, cleaning it, and how the pain would be. Adner, the store manager, explained everything to me very well and told me that I can stop by the shop today. Within minutes of getting inside, I signed the information sheet and just got to piercing it. During the process, Adner is pretty cool to talk to, has good humor, and tells you that the pain is not that bad as it wasn't. He clean it very thoroughly and precisely dot it before piercing it. I definitely recommend others to come here.
Review Source:My tank for my vape broke so I came here because they stay open later than most places that sell stuff for vapes. I was greeted immediately by the people in the store and the girl in the front counter pointed me over to the vape section. The store all of a sudden got really busy so I was helped by Christian, who was really nice and friendly and took the time away from his lunch to help me out. He got me the tank I needed so I took a look at their flavors. They had sample tanks for all the VaporAll flavors but there was a line from a different brand that they didn't have demo tanks for. I was interested in that line because is was cheaper, but was wary as to the taste. Christian really knew which flavors were good so he gave great advice as to making my decision. Will shop here again.
Review Source:Adner repierced my industrial the other day and it is healing very nicely so far. I got it done elsewhere the first time and it wasn't nearly as painful this time. It hurt like a mother but he is much smoother in his technique. He's very thorough in the whole process from when I walked in, until I left. Very professional and I highly recommend him for all your piercing needs.
Review Source:Overpriced basic production line rigs. Save yourself the time and energy on going here. I recommended this particular location to many of my patients and boy was I dissapointed.
Basic rigs, with minimal perks for the heighest prices possible. Even the accessories/attachment/ replacement parts are over priced! (If they're even available!!)
SUPOSSEDLY a high selection of glass. All they have is multiples of the same bs rig that they are up chargiing more than 80%
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO A REAL GLASS SHOP. SAVE THE TIME FROM LOOKING AT BASIC OVERPRICED BULLSHIT GLASS FROM HIPSTER KIDS.
Not to mean the way the employees neglected aiding me in finding something I needed and made me feel like I was interrupting their conversation while trying to inquire about products!?! Shouldn't you want to show me something else that could work for me so I will spend my money?? Thanks for nothing bulldogs.
Go to: THE CAVE instead for glass. AND PLATINUM VAPES for vaporizer needs, don't let them treat you poorly and leave you assed out.
My friend and I got our belly buttons pierced here and it was a good experience! The piercers name is Adrian and he is super friendly and makes you feel comfortable. The place is super clean too and I'm so glad they did renovations because before it didn't look as nice. The piercing cost $45 including jewelry and I 100% recommend this place!
Review Source:I was extremely pleased with my encounter with Adner! I got my naval pierced here on a whim with my girlfriends. They were very kind from the start and professional. We randomly had a conversation about how many piercings he had and people he met at a comic convention.. really cool.
I had an issue with my piercing being swallowed up by my skin a few weeks later so I had to come back in. I called ahead and they told me to just drop in to have a look. I ended up needing a longer barbell and after the change (free of charge), I bought some H2Ocean to keep it clean (I've learned my lesson) and my piercings been fine and dandy ever since!
I had a few questions here and there about it over the past months and when I call, I always get a very thoughtful and helpful response from Adner. He is really the best and the sweetest! I would definitely come here for any piercing no matter what! Can't beat great service!
Came here to pick up some hookah tobacco, called ahead and made sure they were open until 10 pm. We arrive at 9:50 and right when I walk up to the door, the girl says she already closed the register and proceeds to shut the door on me... DAFUQ? You wont be seeing me or my friends coming here for tobacco with service like that! HMPH!
Review Source:Hey Thanks for coming for moral support Kevin. Â I usually don't write reviews only on occasion I deemed necessary. Â Adner you are an amazing person with superb customer service skills. Â Adner was very keen to what my concerns are and I told him I had my brow done twice in the past but failed to heal correctly. Â Both times done at Bulldogs Tully, I had severe bruising and swelling. I don't remember who did it, but he did not use any forceps, and also dropped the brow bar, and used it like no biggie. This is my third brow piercing in the same spot and it has successfully healed, hardly bruised or swelled, I am very happy with the outcome. Â If you want to get it done right, get it done by Adner.
Review Source:I came here with my friend because he wanted to re-pierce his eyebrow. The last two times he had it done at a different shop he was bruised badly. It looked like he had a black eye so he decided to get it done somewhere else. I yelped a couple places and we decided on this place because of the good reviews and decent pricing. We came mid afternoon on a weekday so it was not busy. We met with the store manager and explained that my friend was bruised the last time he had it done. Adner told us his previous piercer probably did it too deep or his body just rejects that kind of piercing and most likely it will happen again regardless of who does it. My friend really wanted another brow piercing so he decided to go ahead with it one more time.
The store manager did the piercing himself and was very clear and thorough about the entire process and aftercare. He made sure to wash his hands and open the new brow ring in front of us. The whole process went smoothly and there was minimal pain as I was told. It's been a little over a week and my friend's brow piercing is healing well with only a small amount of bruising. You can only tell if you look very closely that there is bruising, which is going away now. Needless to say, his piercer did a great job and the price was decent compared to other places we checked on yelp.
As for the shop. It is fairly new, clean, and well kept. It also has nice decor with tiny human organ model's i.e., lips, nose, nipple with piercings to show what they offer, which is very helpful.
Overall, I highly recommend this place for piercings.
My first tattoo at age 58. Â I met with Isaac and discussed what I wanted and made an appointment to get the tattoo. Â When I arrived for my appointment Isaac recommended an area of my body for the tattoo than I originally thought but I agreed to this change. Â Isaac had drawn the tattoo design we discussed and made several copies of various sizes for me to pick. Once I picked the size, he gave a final price, previously he had given me an estimate based on size, Â which seemed reasonable to me and within the range we had discussed previously.
He then started the tattoo and discussed with me every step of the process. Â I was very impressed with his profession ism and also with his artistic abilities. Â We talked about his training and apprenticeship he did to get to where is is in his career as a tattoo artist.
When he was done he allowed me to see the tattoo in a mirror, I asked him to darker one area which he gladly did. Isaac then discussed aftercare on what to expect and how to take of the tattoo for the first week or so.
I was very impressed and highly recommend Isaac. Â I will go back to Bulldog if I decide to get more tattoos.
Got a piercing here recently, and everyone was super helpful, informative, and nice. The place was really clean and nice inside and both the piercer and the girl working the desk were willing to answer the roughly fifty questions I asked them about my piercing. Very patient and comforting. Might go back if I ever forget how much it hurt. Definitely will go back to them if I decide to get another piercing in the San Jose area.
Review Source:I went here with my boyfriend just to check out there smoke shop and piercing shop. It was nice, clean and new which was a 2 thumbs up. But I honestly was not happy when I was trying to get a septum noise ring. Adrian wasn't helpful even when I didn't understand the sizing to well, didn't seem like he wanted to help me out as much as his manager. Just the atmosphere was just blah.
If anything go to the Bulldog Lifestyles at Tully, Jason is just the right piercer. He was friendly, explained the process and seemed interested in helping me with anything. Honestly I really like the workers at Tully.
Adrian is the best,
My boyfriends friends recommended him, obviously, cause they've known each other for quite some time.
I got 2 piercings from Adrian and I'm planning on going back for more.
Got my tragus piercing in January, and got my nose piercing 2 weeks later. Adrian is super nice and will tell you what he's doing before hand. He's super quick and will try his best to make things not too painful. Definitely recommend coming to Adrian for all piercings. Btw, He's off on Mondays.
I came here a couple weeks ago and got a tattoo from Isaac. I was very impressed with his work. The only thing better than the work was the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere that Isaac created.
Getting a tattoo sometimes is not the most pleasant experience in the world, but this was not the case here. Isaac found something that we had in common (NFL and UFC) and my mind was completely off the pain/discomfort of getting a tattoo. It felt like we were just hanging out and talking sports and before I knew it, I had some fresh ink on my skin.
This was my fifth tattoo, so the pain is not a huge issue for me as I am used to it. However, if you are thinking of getting your first tattoo and are nervous about how it might feel, this is the place for you. Not only will you have excellent work done, but you will feel completely relaxed throughout the entire procedure.
Highly recommended!!
Was gonna go to Tully's but decided to go here cus they haveemore stars & good reviews. This place is way cleaner and more organized. Â So my first time here, I actually enjoyed it! I give both Sean & Adrian 10000000 stars! Sean is hilarious and he sure knows how to make customers comfortable in the shop. Â He's not like one of those awkward ass guys that also make their customers feel awkward. The best customer service ever (: we need more of him out there in the world. Haha .
I was just going to get the bottom part of my belly pierced cus my top one was scarred and I was afraid it'd reject my piercing again. But Adrian asked about it and said that it was fine & made sure I was gonna take care of the bottom one. He suggested that I might as well get the top pierced too so I can take care of both of them at once. Less of a hassle. So then I did. He was really cool. Â & did a reallly good job . He also made me and my friends feel comfortable. Like we can be ourselves aroun him and Sean. He walked me through everything & everything turned out fine. He couldn't even walk me through the after care process cus we were all too busy talkin bout Instagram and our phones. Loll. Adrian knows what he's doin and talkin bout. Best first experience ever. Â These two guys put together, oh man.. Loll what more can you ask for! (:
Amazing Adrian does it again! I wanted to get my lip pierced and the choosing was easy, black round with a single ball. Adrian helped me out and pierced my bottom lip. Not only did he make me comfortable, I got there when a rush of people showed up. Luckily I was first. If you are curious look at my You! YOu save money!!!
Review Source:I had 2 tattoos done today coz Isaac is amazing! Â He was very patient with me, very professional, detail-oriented and made me feel really comfortable. I love how he didn't rush at all and took his time to get exactly what I wanted done right. Â It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would and actually turned out ticklish instead lol
Will definitely come back for more and highly recommended! Might do some piercings next time too, heard Adrian was really good! ;p
Shout out to the staff who were really cool and awesome as well! =)
I've been wanting this quote for like 4 years already, but I never had the balls to get it. Yesterday, I was depressed, so I was like fuck it I'm going to go get that tattoo I've been wanting. Visit one place before I came into Bulldog's. Good thing I didn't get it at the other place because he was totally over charging me.
I called before I came in to make sure Issac was there. I read some Yelp reviews saying how he was really good, so I just wanted the best for my first tattoo. I came in showed him what I wanted. He was really nice and told me the tattoo would only be $80 for a 5 word quote. I was so surprised, because the place before told me it was going to be way more. I waited around for 15 minutes while he drew up my tattoo. He showed me different sizes and he put it on my back to see if it would fit. My back is really small, but he was nice enough to re-size it so it would fit my upper left back perfectly. In this moment I couldn't believe I was about to get my first tattoo. He stenciled the design out and then put it on me. In my mind I was like damn, I'm getting my first tattoo, ahh needles. He made me feel at ease explaining the needles to me and how it would feel. Okay, the tattoo didn't even hurt that much!!! Like seriously, all that build up for nothing. The tattoo didn't even hurt that much!!! He took around 30-40 minutes for my tattoo. It was quick and painless, except for when the needle hit my bone, that part hurt a little more.
I really love my first tattoo and its meaningful to me cause, I made that quote up. Thank you Issac! When I know what I want next i'll for sure come back to him!
I usually don't write review, but this place is that great! To be specific Isaac! last Sunday I went to 4 different tattoo parlors, 408 on Santa Clara street, Bulldog Lifestyles on Tully, another place I cant remember the name and this Bulldog Lifestyles on Capitol.
I was planning on a small tiny simple tattoo, 408 said minimum is $120 per hour, and your paying $120 even if it takes less then an hour, I said thanks but no thanks...the bulldog on Tully, when we walked in the woman who helped us was really nice, and said yea we can do that for $50, then the artist came out and said $60 to $80 most likely $80, I am like no, the way he said it made me feel like he was pricing high so he wouldn't have to do it....The only person willing to be realistic about the price was Isaac at Bulldog on Capitol, he understood how small and easy it was, and I felt like his price was fair.
....cut to tonight going into my appointment with him, he comes out with a sketch of a humming bird that was pretty nice, I was torn at first because of the size, I wanted something small, but I really liked his design, he shrunk it down a bit, and his price was really decent for the work, so I figured ok why not. He has this very chill demeanor that makes you feel comfortable and I found it easy to trust his judgement.
Now let me mention this is my first tattoo, so I was really nervous about the pain, I've heard so much from others how it hurts and all. But this experience was very smooth, hardly much pain, It was a very chill environment.
Overall I loved my experience here and as a tattoo artist, Isaac is just that an artist, he is amazing and I will definitely refer all my friends to him, get ready for more hummingbirds lol
This Tattoo means the world to me as it is dedicated to a very dear friend who passed away last August, I am really happy Isaac made this experience a great one.
Went to get studs for my lip and after waiting there for 45 minutes the lady behind the counter hastily gave me a pair after telling me I had to wait for the Piercer to size them. I figured she knew what she was doing so I paid for them (wayyy over priced) and went home to find they weren't even close to the right size.
They have a no exchange no return policy so I was stuck with them. Never going there again for anything.
On the other hand I have had no problems with the Bulldogs on Tully.
This place is great, very clean and friendly staff. Â I came here because I purchased a Groupon for a tattoo. Â I got tatted by Isaac who did an amazing job!
I came in with "my awesome drawing" and Isaac took it and created a beautiful masterpiece! Â I got a tattoo in honor of my beautiful daughter and he truly made it a special time.
It was nice because I didn't feel obligated to talk too much during tattoo, Isaac was very professional and like to "get the ink done". Â
Isaac is very laid back and has a beautiful talent. Â I highly recommend seeing Isaac at the Capital location if you are considering a tattoo.
I am already setting up my next appointment! Â I have finally found a good artist and I'm willing to drive from San Mateo for him.
Thanks to the crew at BullDog for making our experience fun! Â Late hours at BullDog = Lots of Fun!! Â
Pictures are posted here as well.
Got my tongue pierced my Adrian and he made my experience so nice. My first piercing I was pretty scared but he was very friendly and easy to talk to. I liked the girl who worked there as well. She was very approachable and answered all my questions about the after care. I like this place better than the other bulldogs on Tully. This place is much cleaner and has a better environment customer service wise. Very very recommended !!
Review Source:Came here saturday evening for my friend's piercings. She had bought a groupon and decided to get 1 industrial and 2 tragus piercings. What I love about this place, is the comfortable atmosphere. Very lax and chill. I was even laying down on their cushion waiting for my friend's turn.
I love coming here, because they have chill workers & are very professional. Customer service is alright, but they get friendly and have several conversations with you when it gets empty.
Adrian is very funny. Every time I come in here, I check to see if he's in. Hold n below, he was in, because he's the only piercer or this place. My friend was pretty stoked and excited, but mostly nervous because I was talking too much. LOL. Anyways back to Adrian. He's a great friendly person to walk you through the procedures. I even came by the shop to drop off stickers for him :) So glad, he actually remembers.
Coincidence, there was a girl who walked in. And I recognized her, but I didn't remember where. LOL. I found out in 5-8 minutes later, we met at a party. Well, anywho she was waiting for Adrian, because they were going to POP together.
It's kinda funny who you run into sometimes. Great deals (prices) & friendly people. I plan on coming here for piercings. Hip & Tragus. Im thinking about cartilage & nose right now. Not sure. We'll see in a few months :)
I got my first tattoo here a couple weeks ago on my inner upper left arm. I had a bible verse and the size is about 3x5 in. Isaac was the one who tattooed me and his cursive is perfect. It healed in a week.
After the scabbing and the healing process, it still looks like it was just done yesterday. I was told by Isaac that the ink may be a little lighter after the scabbing but it has still stayed very black. I'd definitely go to him again. We had good conversations, he was very quick and very skilled, also the place is very clean (I have OCD over cleanliness). No, it didn't hurt to get the tattoo.
I had my fourth tattoo done here by Isaac a few weeks ago and I couldn't be more pleased. I love the clean, bright atmosphere compared to the Tully location. I emailed him a pic of what I wanted, he blew it up to a few different sizes and he showed me where and why it would look better in different places. He took the picture and did a quick sketch and went to work. Isaac was really cool, easy to talk to and a fantastic artist. I will be going back for my next.
Review Source:I came here 2 days ago unsure if I wanted to get my septum pierced or not. I decided to get it and I'm pretty glad I did! I was really nervous because this was my first facial piercing, but it went better than I expected. The piercer was friendly and the process of getting the septum done was quick. I would definitely come back for more piercings maybe in the future.
Review Source:I got my tattoo here a few days ago and I finally have time to express how much I love this place.
My tattoo was done my Isaac (pic uploaded on yelp). I came in with a concept and he definitely brought it to life. I can't express what an artist this gentleman is. I vaguely described what I wanted to him and told him to do what ever he thought was suitable and it came out so much better than I could've imagined.
I definitely believe that you need real trust with the person that's going to be putting something permanent on your body. Isaac is such an easy going guy and definitely great at his job. I've been with friend to other tattoo shops and I haven't seen anything that I've liked more than the art that Isaac has put on my body. (Of course to each their own on styles of tattooing).
Specs:
- Area is definitely very organized and looks clean.
- Has curtains if you are getting tattooed somewhere private or just want privacy. (Some places have you out in the open even if you're a girl..... I'm definitely not down to flash a shop full of tatt-ed up men)
- Isaac - knows what he's doing, clean, quick and gentle. FUN too.
To be continued.... Part 2 coming. I'm going to add to the piece that I just got because I loved it so much. Now my bird Isaac is getting a girlfriend. Hopefully she'll turn out just as good looking as he did!
I got a tattoo session with Isaac, and I had him add more detail to a 1/4 sleeve on my arm and he was able to make it more realistic and add the details that I asked for. In addition he can make the time go by with his entertaining conversation and he didn't kill my arm with the tattoo gun....which hurts sometimes- no matter what you do. My experience was pretty good and he was able to get me in a short enough amount of time. He uses a high quality ink and I expect this tattoo will last me a long time and look good! *Even though it is permanent- ha!*
Review Source:This place just got rebuilt and looks more new and open then before. The service here has been great for me, because they would give me discount on some things and helped me on hookahs and how to use it.
The only thing is that this store is smaller than the one on Mclaughin/Tully, but overall I like this place.
I got my nose pierced here several years back and had such a great experience. Â I forget what the name of the piercer is but the service I got from the owners Mo and Joe (If I remember correctly, that is their names) Â were exceptional. Â They were joking around, making everyone in the shop feel comfortable. Â They were very helpful, advising me on which stud would look best.
I've been so happy with my experience, I always refer my friends to them. Â I took my friend there last week to get her nose pierced and much to my surprise, they renovated the entire shop! Â It is now the most beautiful and clean tattoo/piercing place I have ever been to. Â I always think of a smoke shop as being slightly dirty, over filled with incense smoke and just sketchy all around. Â Not BULLDOG! Â I would feel completely safe getting any service they provide. While I was there, Â I saw someone getting a tattoo on his shoulder and it looked amazing. Â Bulldog produces quality work and exercises exceptional service in a clean, modern, stylish environment.
I have visited this shop before on a few occasions for piercings. By the way. The shops go to man for that is Adrian. Who absolutely is the best at what he does. Extremely patient and calm demeanor makes the process completely comfortable and relaxing. I will definitely be back for more!
Recently, I visited the shop to comfort a friend as she was getting a tattoo done by one of their artist Frank. Who is also amazingly talented! As I was waiting I was admiring the art work of Isaac, the shops other tattoo genius. Simply amazing art work (be on the look for that in a gallery) we were discussing a tattoo I had been wanting to get. He showed me his book and knew his style of sailor jerry, traditional was what I wanted. He had a definite flare that made this old style entirely unique and fresh. So I gave him my deposit for the sketch. However before I left I noticed a wall piece he was working on quickly scrapped that idea and we worked on an entirely new design! That was the best design I could have never thought of! He was able to blend all my aspects of my ideas and put his definitive craft to work and spiraled it beyond my belief.
Isaac had an amazingly pleasant demeanor. Made me completely at ease. The time flew by and my design was original and superb. He was abel to contrast my piece so wonderfully with my previous piece. Completely gifted. I absolutely will be back for another round with Isaac. Maybe to work on the suggested piece to fill my back. I am absolutely so pleased I recommend him highly!
The staff there were quite pleasant and very knowledgeable. Couldn't ask for better service from the CAPITOL crew! Let's get that straight, cause unfortunately I have not had this same great service at Tully road!
Once again I have nothing but good to say about Isaac and his talents. Can not wait. To get another one done by him!
Thank you, thank you to the wonderful staff!
First off, I highly recommend this place and guarantee you will not be disappointed. Save your decision making for something else, because Bulldogs is a no brainier.
Talk about a 21st century smoke shop. These guys are real cool, and they know their products really well. If your looking for the latest and greatest products this is the place to be. The tattoo artists are professionals and make you feel really comfortable.
I will definitely come back, you guys are a lot better than the cave! I look forward to coming back for round 2!
My sister in law wanted to get her nose pierced and we decided to go to this one instead of the one off of Tully, since Capitol was closer. Â The staff is really nice. Â We were greeted right away by Frank. Â Adrian was the one who did my sister in law's piercing and he was super nice. Â He explained to us everything he was doing and what to expect. Â He did a great job and my sister in law couldn't be happier.
Now this review is for my tattoo -
Frank is http://bomd.com!!! PERIOD! When I went there with my sis in law I was looking through his album of tattoos and I saw a few cover ups he did. I had a bunch of questions and Frank was very patient and answered them all for me. My tattoo came out better than I expected and I for sure will be back to add on to it.
Ok people, we all know that smoke shops aren't cheap OK!? I mean come on, it's a smokes shop! Now to get to the good part...I went there for a lip piercing and Adrian was the piercer there, and he made me feel welcome and patient as I was looking through the lip rings they had there (I'm a picky person so it took a while) but he was cool the entire time. When it came to finally getting my lip pierced he asked me what kind of music I wanted to hear, that was really cool because no one has ever done that before, it caught me off guard haha. It even calmed me down a bit because I never had a facial piercing, just tattoos :3
I give Bulldogs a 5 out of 5 stars because I was welcomed heartily and people were keen to my needs! I am def going back to get more facial piercings and maybe even another tattoo!
Pros: Adrian the piercer is super nice and was on a mission to help me get my piercing out. (My nose ring was screwed on so tight and hadn't been removed once since being pierced several years ago - and after several attempts at getting it removed - nobody could!!) After several attempts he finally got it. He was very thoughtful and polite and kept making sure I was still comfortable and he wasn't hurting me too much. Then he even gave me a coupon for the next time I want to buy jewelry! Adrian gets 5 stars in my book!
Cons: The girls in the front are BITCHES! NOT the first impression you want your store to have! They took FOREVER to acknowledge me and were just chit-chatting and were so callous - seriously don't be jealous cuz I have a bigger rack than you! WTF is their problem. And first I thought it was they just have a problem with girls but I then watched them be bitches to guys that came in after me. I say ditch the bimbos and you'll have a legit shop. :o)
Cheaper than the other piercing place I went to in Washington. Â Adrian seemed to know what he was doing. Â I came in for a Conch piercing. Â I guess I should tell other Yelper's that Adrian doesn't work on Monday's, so don't come on a Monday! Â
As for the one star down, I don't think this place is as clean as the place I went to in Washington. Â The girl that did my piercing up there constantly changed her gloves every single time she touched something new. Â Another thing is for the instructions to use anti-bacterial soap to clean your piercings. Â I've done my research before hand, and I really don't think you should be using anti-bacterial soap to clean your piercings. Â Also, the girl up in Washington told me to just use sea salt soaks, which I believe nowadays is what you are supposed to do to clean piercings (along with the research I did). Â If you're lazy like me and hate mixing the sea salt with water all the time, just spend $15 to get the H2Ocean. Â It's well worth the money. Â My cartilage piercing healed quicker than it should have using that.
The reason for the 4 stars is because Adrian made the piercing go by really quick. Â I didn't even feel any pain surprisingly. Â Although the other place in Washington was a lot "more clean", the girl who did my cartilage piercing there sort of hurt me while piercing me. Â It wasn't quick like how Adrian did it. Â And I don't know why, but I bled a whole lot when I got my cartilage pierced in Washington. Â But with my conch piercing here, it barely bled. Â So that is why I give this place a 4 star.
As for my conch piercing, Adrian marked it beforehand and showed me if it was the right spot. Â He pierced it precisely and quickly, which made it feel painless. Â As for the healing process, I will update later if anything were to occur =] Â Can't say much until maybe a month after.
Update July 8, 2011: Â No infection what so ever, no hypertrophic scars, and I'll be honest, I did not clean it as often as I should have hahaha. Â But hey, it healed really nicely, and I did change my earring. Â Will definitely come back for another piercing !
The first time I got a piercing here was when I was in eighth grade which was like 8 years ago? Lmao I don't know but it was a long time ago. My first piercers name was Albert, but he's gone. Now Adrian does my piercings, and he's the best! He's very careful, calm, patient, and funny. If your nervous, he can calm you down. I'd recommend him as anyones piercer! And it's more fun if you bring a group of friends with you to get piercings altogether.
Review Source:I've gotten multiple piercings here with Adrian and he's amazing at what he does. He talks you through the whole process and is quick and precise. He takes his time to educate you about the healing process and I never experienced any problems with infection. I once was in dire need to push back in a nose piercing after having it out for a couple days. Instead of just convincing me to pay to re-pierce it he tried his little heart out to jab that sucker back in but to no avail. I ended up having to re-pierce but appreciated the fact he tried to help me out.
Review Source:during my phase of rebelliousness in high school, i heard this was the place for all your piercing needs. so a little after i became of legal age, i just had to come here!
had my bellybutton and tongue pierced by adrian. don't know if he still works here, but from my experience he was really friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. all of the tools were sterile, and all of the needles were pre-packaged (so don't worry you're in good hands here). the process didn't take that long, i was done in under 10 minutes. also, they provide you with aftercare and a baggie of sea salt for cleaning your piercings :)
only con is that between the two piercings, it was about $80 and that includes jewelry. expensive much? hell yea.
otherwise, service was excellent!
Frank is awesome!!!
He has done 3 of my tattoos and 2 for my husband...we will continue to come back again and again. Â All of our work was custom drawn...Frank was extremely patient with us through the design process, tweeking and changing the design until it was perfect.
Although we have done all black ink, I have seen some of his tats in color both while he was working and in his books...they ROCK!!!
Very detailed, very bright!
Highly recommend!
I've been in here a few times and this place is pretty solid. Good customer service, and sweet products. I got my first tattoo here ages ago... I liked this place so I went back! Â Their smoke shop has a lot of cool stuff, for prices that aren't as expensive as I thought they would be. There's a Bulldog on Tully Rd. also but I like this location better.
Review Source:I got my nose pierced here for my birthday last December and the guy who did it did it wrong! It started sinking in and I had to pay 5 bucks to at another bulldogs to have the guy take it out and put it in right! And boy was it painful. Â A week later if fell out while I was sleeping.I think I'll go elsewhere to get it done. wasted 45 bucks!
Review Source:I've gone here for my lip, nose & tongue piercings. Adrian does an awesome job! Get the three piercing deal too. It's worth it.
And I haven't gotten a tattoo here, but I've gotten it from one of the artist here named Todd. =) If you look in the pictures, you'll see mine. It's the crane with a sunset & pond, with a little bit of the fan showing. My tattoo came out amazing. Todd makes you feel comfortable while he tattoos you. You won't be disappointed in his work.
Gentlemen: Â There's nothing wrong with getting elephant ears tattooed on your inner thighs.
Ladies: Â Its completely natural to get door knockers pierced on your nipples.
Smokers: Â It's still a constant debate if hookahs are safer than cigarettes.
Pervs: Â Sorry but the back room is gone now.
I'm just saying.
Thanks to store manager, Davey Castro, for showing us around......
I came here to get my belly button pierced. Only to overcome my fear of belly buttons, my belly button being touch, and something near my belly button. It only cost me $40.
Adrian was the person who pierced me and started flirting with me.. Um, a minute ago, you guys had the WORST customer service. Who do you think you are?!
They gave me a memo specifically on how to clean it and etc.
I give this place a two star rating. Only because there was no pain and receiving a paper and instructions from the employees about how to take care of your piercing.
Another thing, this isn't the ideal place to get a tat. The only good thing is the room in the back. Separate for all the goodies, if you know what I mean.
I've only been in here once, and it was to get my nose pierced. Â The staff was super helpful, showing me what would work best for what I wanted.
The price was great, I didn't mind paying a little more just to make sure it was done right. Â I watched the guy take the needle out of the package. Â That made me super happy! Â I don't remember his name, but it was the one white dude that was working in there. Â He did a GREAT job. Â The placement was just perfect and exactly where I told him I wanted it. Â It was also relatively pain-free. Â I didn't even tear up.
They gave me what I needed to take care of it and a sheet to take home with me with the care instructions. Â I've never had a problem with the piercing still to this day!
so before I was pretty skeptical about bulldogs & all of the bad reviews scared me off. But I was desperate and I didn't want to pay big bucks for a simple change for my conch. I met Adrian the piercer that works there and he's SUPER nice. He's really professional, and does his job really well. He's friendly and cool so he makes you feel right at home! get a piercing!
Review Source:Went here for my lip piercing. There wasn't much of a wait when I went. There was a lady that was getting her lips pierced too before I went so I just waited for her to finish because the guy who was piercing her was the one that did the ring style. When I went to get mine it was over in less than 2 minutes. The piercing itself took less than 30 seconds. After I got my piercing, they gave me sea-salt and told me how to take care of it so that it won't get infected. Also they gave me a paper with direction how to take care of the piercing.
The people there were very friendly. One of the worker there were talking to me and I was asking her questions and she was very helpful. Also the piercer was nice, he was very patient with me cause I was totally nervous, but I was over acting cause it didn't hurt one bit.
The place is clean and well maintained. Their utensils are all sterilized and also they open the utensils in front of you to prove that it wasn't tampered with or anything.
The pricing of the piercing is high, for a lip piercing it's $45. They should lower it just a little bit. But they do have a special, if you get 3 piercing it's about $120 and the piercing can be done on 3 different people.
A couple friends got tats here, and I was one to witness it. In my opinion, they over paid for palm sized art. And it looked meteorce, nothing too beautiful, or amzaing. Usually, I would like it if the artist offered suggestions or bring in somewhat new ideas to bring out what you want..but the artists here just slap on the print, ink it down, and ask for money. Nothing to make this experience special, gave me the impression they just wanted you in and out.
Review Source:Erik is my tatt artist...he is nothin but awesome & talented! I got my 1st 3 tatts from him on Nov.15, 2009 it was painless & i absolutely love them all. I just got my 4th tatt on March 12, 2009 which i so love also! Thanks Erik...keep doin what u do best....i expect nothin but da best from ya!
Review Source:My friend and I went here feeling intimidated because we thought everyone would be all tattooed and pierced from head to toe but to our surprise the staff was really nice. I think we spent a good 2 hours in there figuring out what to pierce and getting the piercings done. Both of us got an orbital (I ain't gonna lie, PAINFUL), I got a regular cartilage piercing, and my friend got a snug. We got a deal for getting 4 piercings, about 74 each person rather than 46 for one piercing alone. One less star for not providing the necessary materials for aftercare.

This place fucking sucks, when my girlfriend called to ask for pricing they were rude, assuming we knew the difference between a gem and a "stud". When we went in they weren't all that friendly. Their prices were pretty damn expensive, compared to when we went to Briandrops in SF at least they know what they're doing.
The person who helped her (Adrian) looked like he didn't know what the fuck he was doing, he gave her an even smaller gauge (18) when she wanted to get a 16 gauge, he couldnt even put in right that her lip started to swell up. They went through 4 rings before they gave her one that she couldn't even wear for 27$. He tried flirting with her too. No refund or exchanges-fuck this place.
I would NOT go here for either a tat or a piercing....If there is an excessive amount of retail surrounding a place where there are piercings and tattoos to be had, I won't get anything put on my body (permanent or not). That said....
I've gotten some semi cute pieces (for um....smoking purposes), shirts, stickers, etc for halfway reasonable prices. Plus I give the staff mucho credit. I had a test involving bodily fluids (ones that the court are interested you in you perv!) and asked the employees on duty which cleaner they'd suggest. The manager eagerly got me a bottle of something red and sold the deal by telling me that all the staff (" the ones on probation") had used it with wonderful results (no one got a positive test). I ended up cleaning up a la nature (went on the wagon) but my idiot addict ex (addicted to MANY substances) took their magic elixir and passed 100% clean before he was hired by a prodominent law office in the FiDi. For knowing your clientele and product, you get three stars.
id rather give them a "NO MAS" review... because ive seen hideous things bear forth from this store... my friend had a fairy tattooed on her back her senior year... it faded in a MONTH. Â she took all the precautions and in the end, it ended up looking like a giant blurb on the small of her back. Â ive seen friends piercings reject from here, and the rest of the store - fashion-wise - well, i dont think anyone would be caught dead wearing any of that junk. Â well, maybe the big girls that keep investing in "playboy" tanks and halter mid-drift shirts that do not fit... WHY, WHY, WHY - WHY?!? Â *frustrated*
the people that work here are nice - just they aren't very up to date on piercing info... and they sell the same cookie cutter typical piercing jewelery that everyone else and their mother's have.
