I forgot the girls name that did my husbands tattoo (at the time, a year ago, she was the only girl there). She did such an amazing job. We had my sons baby feet tattooed on my husbands leg, the actual size of his feet. I had called around to other shops and was told by 2 other artist that they would have to  enlarge the footprints we had of my sons foot to maximize the detail, but the whole point of the tattoo was to have the little tiny life size prints, not enlarged ones. So glad I found The Constables. (Found them through reviews on yelp). Highly recommend! The shop is super clean and neat.
Review Source:At the time of writing this, I am 28 and have been to a handful of tattoo shops. Â In my experience, tattoo artists can be very...stand-offish, somewhat elite-est, and downright intimidating. Â My first couple of tattoos were by people who could tell that I was inexperienced in the whole process and completely took me for a ride. Â I was lucky enough to meet one of the artists from The Constable at my work, he invited me to check out the shop so, as they say, the rest is history. Â If you are looking for a clean, fun, and inviting shop, I can't recommend anyplace else higher than The Constable. Very talented individuals, honest, and friendly artists.
Review Source:Words cannot express how happy I am that I found this shop. Â I worked with Brendan to go from taking a bunch of ideas and putting it into a freaking masterpiece that I get compliments on every day.
When I walked into the shop, the first thing that I noticed was that it was IMMACULATE. Â That was contradictory to the decor, though: total guy's hang out sort of flare from the sports memorabilia to the music playing. Â It was awesome to go to a place that wasn't all "black and red are the only awesome colors in the world" decor. And, as I was only stopping in to check the place out initially, I was with my sister and 9 month old nephew at the time. Â Every guy in there was super nice to a little baby. Â Fan-freaking-tastic to both of us...anyone who can be kind to a kid when he's not exactly where he wants to be gets an A in my book. Â I spoke with one of the people there and was impressed when after hearing my ideas that he recommended not himself but another artist in the shop and pointed me to his portfolio. Â That was so refreshing...it made me really feel like he wasn't just out to make a buck off of me and was interested in the artistic side of the piece.
I made the appointment and commenced emailing with Brendan to get all of my ideas down into one piece. Â I appreciated that so much; made me really think that I was getting something custom and meaningful instead of just a stock piece from a pile.
Coming back for the tattoo to celebrate my 30th birthday with my best friend and sister was great. Â Brendan has a great attitude and was super professional about his work. Â (He may have air drummed when he thought I wasn't looking, but that's cool). Â It was painless and an enjoyable experience. Â I cannot wait to go back for my next piece. Â I'd work with any artist in that shop. Â
I've recommended at least 2 friends here and they have both been very satisfied with their work, too. Â I want to get over there soon and check out the artist gallery that's next door soon.
If you want a rockin' tattoo, then you should go here...if you don't want a rockin' tattoo, well, then, you're just lame.
Naturally, because I'm not lame, I went there, and now I am a proud owner of an amazing back piece done by Brendan. Â Not only is he a stellar artist, but also a cool person to chat with ...it was definitely an enjoyable experience. Â
I highly recommend!
If you want to get tattooed by a real genuine artist go see Brendan. Â I've studied art for years and Brendan is by far one of the best artists I've ever seen. Â I'm quite shocked by the negative review below, but I guess not everyone has been blessed with good taste. Â Anyway, my husband and I have both had work done by Brendan and he has solid, clean, crisp lines which is sooooo important. Â Impeccable color. Â Amazing traditional work. Â Brendan is one of the few honest tattoo artists left in this world and I recommend him to all of my friends.

The wife and I are looking for a new shop since our guy moved out of state recently. He is one of the best so it's hard to replace him.... But the search has begun.
We saw this place while eating at an establishment close by and decided to stop in to check it out. Looks nice, cool name, typical layout for a parlor... But not the best people. We walked in knowing what we wanted and having 8 previous tats and my wife having 4, we're not newbies to the game. We started looking at portfolios without being greeted at all.... And kept looking and looking, till finally about 25 mins later someone acknowledged our presence. Maybe cause it was cooler out and we were wearing hoodies that covered all of our work so they thought nothing of us? The Kid and yes he was a kid looked barely old enough to be in there himself was apparently willing to take on any challenge no matter what. The wife showed him a picture, he asked where it would go and he says sure sure no problem. Then it came to pricing... It started at 350.... For something not even that big, then he went into that whole oh if you want color that's another 100, and shading is extra too bs. That's when I said, um yeah no that's ok we'll look around. We turned to leave and the price magically came down to 250 total. I could hear the desperation in his voice. It was pathetic. Our guy has been in the business for over 40 yrs, he always said when a shop starts charging for color, shading, or thin lines, then turn around and walk out cause they just took you for a fool. We did exactly that and we definitely won't be back.
It doesnt deserve a rating this place should b childrens zoo or anything besides a tattoo shop ...
BRENDAN DID MY FIRST TATTOO..
this guy is seriously the worst artist in the world actually hes not an artist his work is the same as 1st grader he did my rosary and people saw it and they said get rid of it ..when u get tattoos u wanna show them off mine i had a t-shirt on everyday and only my closest friends saw it ..
BUT just recently i found one of the best tattoo artist in this city  and were currently working on amazing chest peace that i cant wait to post up on here and show u before and afters ..I will say i have heard real good things about KYLE but if u go to brendan u deserve what u get u mise well hand him your money and have him write IDIOT ON YOUR FOREHEAD ..so if u go see KYLE otherwise see therapist because everyones else work in there looks like AFGHANSTAN (its a mess)
Best tattoo experience of my life...fo sho! I've had at least 12-15 hours worth of work done prior to my experience at Constable. While I'd say there are great artists and shops everywhere if look hard enough, why look when its right there for ya in 1 shop?! I got a tat by Brendan H. and he KILLED it (that's a good thing)! I also got to see Kyle (owner) and Junior's work which were awesome too. The artists take an interest in all art that was being made, so they were commenting on each others sketches and making sure their clients got the best tattoos possible. The vibe is casual and youthful, and the place is IMMACULATE! As long as they're open, I don't ever see myself going anywhere else for tattoos again!
Review Source:Hands down best tattoo shop I've ever been to.
So far I've only been tattooed by Kyle and all I can say is HOLY CRAP this guy is awesome.
Seriously. In every way.
From start to finish the whole experience was simply great. Kyle was excellent to work with and was incredibly accommodating and really worked to make my idea come to life as best as possible.
And boy did it come together. I really couldn't have possibly pictured it coming out any better which means a lot considering the personal significance.
That said my next piece will be done by Brenden followed by another by Kyle.
I love this shop and after one visit I can say for sure that this is the only place I'll be going for work so long as I live in the Chicago area.
