My 21 year old son got his first tattoo done by Doc. The tattoo came out awesome. My son will definitely be going back to Doc and add more to his tattoo. I myself got my tattoo done at Dandyland many years ago and loved how I was treated by the staff. Now both my boys have gotten their tattoos at Dandyland. I would not allow them to go anywhere else. Thanks Dandyland.

I came in looking forward to getting my industrial done, but when Miro looked at my ear he said I didn't have the right shape. Then he offered to do a custom piece on me, and I swear this is better than any industrial! My piece is rook to helix on my left ear with an opal stone in it and I couldn't be happier, thanks so much!
Review Source:I recently came back to get a Forward Helix (Anti-Helix) on my right ear 9/24/13.
It's nice even tho I really don't visit often they still remember me by name!
I got a Neo Metal Lebret I believe. And I asked Miro if he could anodize it into a yellow greenish hue so he took it clipped it with a positive and let it lay in a liquid solution for a few mins and came out just like I wanted!
Anywho,
I got the piercing done by Miro I have to say my 1st hard cartilage piercing and dam was it a painful! Â But Miro talked me threw it so for the most part so I was distracted.
I'm pretty happy with it and it's Always a good place to go to!
FYIs
As of 9/30/13 no more Tue & Wednesday discount piercing specials.
As of 10/1/2013
Now Miro will be go changing schedule with Thursdays off for the most part and working primarily by appointment and on my friends, clientele and referrals.
So,
Tony Naggar will be there 7 days a week now.
I has yet to get work done by him but I will in the future.
And I will add another update review.

This place is amazing! I went there to get my ears pierced, this may seem like a simple thing, but I was terrified. Miro did my piercings. He was so nice and reassuring and professional and there was no pain. He explained everything and made it very easy. The shop was very clean and no 'attitude'.
Review Source:I came here to have my nipples pierced back in January. It was my first piercing aside from my ears and I was incredibly nervous, but the staff was friendly and put me at ease as I was waiting for Miro.
Once we were in the piercing room he let me know step by step what he was going to be doing and what to expect. After he was done he gave me all the instructions on how to help them heal properly.
He's professional and really friendly, kinda made me feel like I'd known him for years. I'll definitely have him do my nostril piercing when I'm back in San Antonio.
Had my Triple Helix done today, and nose re-pierced. I love this place! The people there are honest and so helpful. Miro and Audrey just have this positive vibe about them and the jewelry selection pieces are unique and fun. Â The only place I'd ever recommend in San Antonio to get a piercing done.
Review Source:I'd heard a lot of good things about this place, knew they are usually voted "best of" in The Current, so decided to go check them out. Â Walk in and they ask me what I'm interested in, explain, they set me up with Daniel, an artist who travel down from Austin. Â I wonder how they assign an artist to a customer? Â Is just the next available artist? I liked this place, liked the guy I talked to and think I would have been happy getting work done here. Â The artist listened to what I was telling him, had a few suggestions, and gave me a ballpark figure on how much he told me he thought it would run, around 150 or so. Â That's about what I was thinking. Â I choose Fortune Brothers simply because I liked the vibe of the shop better and Robert had more time available to sit and talk to me, get to know me a bit, help me develop a firmer vision of my tattoo, but Dandyland was always nice and courteous and friendly both on the phone and in the shop.
Review Source:I got my tattoo done by hoss two years ago and holy shit I love that! he drew the bow himself just went with my font and he was amazing! the staff, great people! they completely proved my stereotype of a tattoo shop absolutely wrong! they were all so nice! I felt so comfortable with the cleanliness of the equipment (I'm a big neat freak and germ phobe) so me getting a tat period was a surprise! yet I would most definitely come back for my next tattoo!
Review Source:I have only worked with one guy here for tattoo work, so my review and rating are for Miles.
Miles has done two pieces for me, both are beautiful. I have only received compliments and inquiries about who did my work. Recently did a piece for a friend as well, and her tattoo came out great! Highly recommended.
Popped in here to get some replacement jewelry and Audrey helped me at the counter. There was another gentleman there who was helping give suggestions to her based on what I wanted. She showed me a plethora of choices and my mind was pretty much blown because I didn't think I would have that many options. I had a hard time making up my mind and she was so patient and friendly with me! Due to her customer service I decided on a whim to get another piercing. Audrey also did my piercing and she had a good bedside manner. She and I had a conversation while she prepared everything and she did a good job. She was a very nice gal and I had a wonderful experience. The only reason I don't give 1 more star is I have had plenty of piercings done and my regular piercer (in another state, as I moved here about a year ago) whom I trusted implicitly, ALWAYS suggested a regular sea salt soak to heal the piercing. Audrey gave me a spray and I told her that was interesting, I've never done a spray before. I said something about also doing a sea salt soak and she said no, only the spray. I thought to myself, well that's not going to happen. I'm still going to do the soak as I've done that every time and my piercings have healed fine that way. She gave me an after-care pamphlet and lo and behold, inside it recommended a sea salt soak. I found this strange as she said she had been piercing for five years. Now, I'm not going to pretend that I don't sometimes slip with the soaks, but I know my body and feel comfortable with that to an extent. I just was slightly turned off by the mixed information. Luckily I've done this so many times and know what works for me, but if it was my first piercing and I talked to her vs. read the pamphlet I wouldn't know what to do! They have a very good selection of quality jewelry and are attentive. Due to that I'll return.
Review Source:I went to Dandyland for my nose piercing. Â Miro does the piercing by hand. Â They don't use a piercing gun. Â He was very professional. Â He explained the process and was very friendly. Â Very clean sterile facility. Â I spoke to others who have gone to other places around town and Dandyland isn't cheap but I don't mind paying for higher quality jewelry and a quality piercing. Â With the piercing you get to choose from one of the basic jewelry selections and piercing care solution.
Review Source:I am not new to tattoos but this was my first visit to Dandyland and I will definitely be back. Â
This was my seventh tattoo and unlike the others, which are larger and colorful, I just wanted a very simple bit of writing (one word) on my inner wrist. Â I'd heard a lot about Dandyland from other people and figured this would be a good test to see if I'd like to go back later for more extensive work. Â
I called ahead and asked if there was time available for me to get this done and I was told to come on in. Â The artist I worked with was Cheese. Â I told him what I wanted and he spent a lot of time helping me choose a font that I liked and that would work well for the area and space. Â
I was surprised at how quickly my tattoo was done and done very well. Â Cheese is not heavy handed (and sorry, guys, but a lot of you ARE just that...ouch!) and I was chatting away with my spouse while he did my tattoo, thinking there was a long way to go, but when I looked he was already almost finished!
The things that stood out the most for me about Dandyland (and Cheese);
1. Very clean, organized place. Â
2. All the work I viewed in the large portfolios was impressive.
3. (the biggie): Staff is seriously lacking in "rockstar" attitude.  This is a big deal for me. HUGE.  There are good artists all over SA but I cannot, WILL NOT spend my money somewhere where I am expected to put up with arrogance and indifference, as if I'm being done a huge favor, and those are unfortunately  things I have come across way too often in my years of acquiring ink. Â
So you are good at what you do, doesn't make you a demi-god! Â Â I have walked out of many places for this reason, and I was immediately impressed with the friendly and professional staff at Dandyland.
Cheese was very helpful, friendly (although quiet, which is fine!), and professional above all. Â I will definitely return for more detailed work and would recommend Dandyland wholeheartedly.
This place is the best! Â Recently got my sugar skull tat done by Christopher (Per) and he did an awesome job. Â He was so nice, made sure I was happy before he got started and it was a very calm experience. Â Even the other people that worked there were friendly to us and anyone else that walked into the shop. Â Dandyland and Christopher are highly recommended!
Review Source:Considering the multitude of germs, viruses and other little nasties that might abound, it gives such incredible peace of mind to know that your health and well-being are so important to the Dandyland staff. They are downright militant when it comes to cleanliness. Â I would never dream of having work done anywhere else.
Review Source:Speaking purely on a piercing basis as that is what I've mostly had done at Dandyland (Miro has done ~15 piercings on me), Dandyland is the place to go to get pierced in San Antonio. Miro has been piercing me for nearly a decade now and I would never go to anyone else. They only carry titanium jewelry so you can go here knowing you're not going to get crap put into your piercing.
Miro is the definition of a perfectionist with his work. He will mess around with the placement for as long as he has to in order to get everything perfectly lined up and it is definitely worth it. He's calming as well which is always great when you know you're about to get a needle shoved through your body. I know I can go into Dandyland, see Miro and say, "hey, I'm bored, let's do something cool" and he will come up with some funky ear project or piercing that we can do. My nape (surface bar) piercing will be 5 years old at the end of the year and the two microdermals he has done on me are amazing.
The tattoos I have seen come out of Dandyland are pretty awesome. I have one tattoo done awhile ago by one of their artists and had a great experience getting that. After looking at Cheese's portfolio, I will more than likely be getting work done by him in the future. These guys are the epitome of professional, nice guys. If you're wanting to get tattooed or pierced, definitely swing by Dandyland.
I went to Dandyland on the recommendation of a trusted friend, and was sorry I did. Maybe if I had gotten another artist... WHo knows? So, I sent "Cheese" my peacock pattern, and told him I wanted a realistic looking tattoo, with loads of color. He said he specialized in realistic, though he had a drawing for me that looked cartoonish. It was pretty, though nothing like my design, and he talked me into it. My fault, my responsibility entirely. I should have been more insistent, but I do believe in giving an artist some artistic liberty. He assured me it would look more realistic than the drawing. Three hours later, I had a partial outline of a stylized (not realistic in the least) peacock. While it was certainly pretty, it was nothing like what I had sent him. Now, the more I look at it, the more I hate it. It almost looks more like a phoenix than a peacock, and it looks as though it is folded in half, as opposed to flowing with the contours of my body. The neck is too long, and the face looks like some flash I've seen. I'm very sorry that I let Cheese talk me into something other than what I sent him, though I have someone else willing to try to fix this mess. The moral of the story, DO NOT LET SOMEONE TALK YOU INTO SOMETHING THAT HE WANTS. Yes, ultimately my fault and my own responsibility, because I let him talk me into it.
Review Source:I moved to TX just over 5 years ago, and did a lot of "research" prior to walking into Dandyland a few years ago. I've been tattoo'd over a dozen times, and while I haven't had the pleasure of getting a tattoo here (next one will be this coming December, and I can't wait!), I have had my nipples and nose pierced, as well as having my ears gauged at Dandyland.
This shop is not your typical tattoo/piercing shop (EVERYONE is VERY friendly...not a common thing in this industry). They belong to the APP (Association of Professional Piercers), and I believe are the only shop to hold this certification in San Antonio. Miro, the lead piercer (and Mgr, I believe?) is simply amazing, informative, welcoming, and can probably make anyone feel at ease about a new piercing.
Dandyland has a decent stock of jewelry, but if you ask Miro...Gold is the way to go! I recently purchased a beautiful gold/diamond nose stud...absolutely stunning! Miro wasn't in the shop the day I decided to change out my original glass nose stud, but Julie (I think that was her name...I lost her card...Ugggg) was incredibly helpful when it came time to choose what would look best on my nose. We talked about traveling, and she even gave me the name of a couple of piercing studios in Atlanta, GA, where I could peruse other jewelry options when I visit in July. That's what I call customer service!
I wouldn't trust my body parts to anyone else!
I love DandyLand. Miro is such a fantastic piercer. He's so calm and patient. He also explains everything in full detail and you can tell he's very knowledgable. And he's just as good removing his work as he is putting it in. He always makes me feel like family, not just more money in his pocket. I will never go anywhere else and whenever I'm talking with people about getting pierced, he's always who I refer them to. Thanks for being a rockstar Miro.
Review Source:This place is fantastic. Quite a few of my friends have gone here for tattoos, and they've been pleased with the results.
The piercer here is WONDERFUL. I've been both the person getting pierced and the friend brought along for moral support, and it's always a good time. He remembered our sorority because a lot of the girls in it have gotten piercings there, and is really easy to talk to. He specifically orders a lot of his stuff from an actual jeweler, and promotes the use of nice, elegant body jewelery. It's awesome.
p.s. the place is super super clean. very trustworthy. I've never heard of anyone getting an infection or anything, and i've always seen them take things directly out of the bag right before use.
I am very cautious when and whom I get my tattoo work from, I just don't go to any shop or anyone. Dandy Land I have know for over 10 years and they are great and there service has been the same great and friendly service over those years, still go there for my jewelry. Best shop in town.
Review Source:A while ago I went to Dandyland to get my cartilage pierced. Actually I've been there a couple times to do this piercing. Not at all their fault. The piercings were great. Not that much stress and pain and the guys that pierced me were always really nice. I remember the first time I went in they asked me how high my tolerance for pain was. I figured I could handle a good amount of pain so I told them pretty high. They figured it was medium, which it is, and took it upon themselves to talk to me while the piercing was happening. If you've ever gotten your cartilage pierced you know how it feels. I got an industrial bar put in and it didn't feel like roses, but while it was happening the guy was talking to me and explaining all the sounds and what tools he was using and just talking to me to get my mind off the pain. The piercing was relatively cheap and even with the jewelry it only came out to about $20 or $25. I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it.
Review Source:Let's cut to the chase. I'm not too sure about Dandy Land as a whole (Since I'm a relatively new customer to the actual shop) but I CAN vouch for an artist that works there named Carlos. He hasn't always worked at this shop, but I've known him for about 6 years I guess... 90 percent of the tattoos I have, he's done. He's clean, professional, and has experience. As far as the rating on his art... I can't really say, because everything he's done for me has been a piece of art I've taken in for him to apply... but I can say, his lines are sharp and clean, the inks don't fade, and he always makes me feel comfortable when I explain how I want my tattoo. If you continue to get work from him, he will usually cut you some good deals. I will keep going back there until I finish my sleeve, or until I have a reason not to.
Review Source:The Handy Dandyland...
Before ever getting some ink from the place, i got me some Piercings. The piercer, whom i knew before hand from a friend is very professional, and has many many years of expirience. I have some "odd" holes in my body that he did for me. he no longer works for Dandyland anymore, but becasue of him, Dandyland is a good place for me.
At the start of the year me and my guy went to get some tattoos from a tattoo artist he knew. I was nervous at first to get some ink from a man i didnt know, but it turned out AWSOME! Since i had previously been to the joint, i figured they wouldnt hire a "bad" artist.
I WILL BE BACK! ( as soon as i have more $$$ to spend!)
