Been here for 2 of my tats and they're definitely reasonable with their prices. Clean, sterile and they're very good at explaining after-care, etc.

**This shop no longer does piercings -- according to a printed sign in their window.

GO TO PATRICK! Hands down. This guy knows what he's doing. If you love vibrant colorful tattoos drawn and tatted beautifully, than this guy is for you! He knows exactly how to play with colors and add the right shading and contrast to make a beautiful tattoo even more beautiful with vibrant color that will look just as bright, colorful, and of course, beautiful as the day you got it tatted on you years later.

I'm Filipino and Salvadorian, so I have brown skin that likes to tan in the summer time.
About two years ago I got a tiger lily tatted on my chest by Patrick and I recently I got a cover up tattoo and added a hummingbird next to my tiger lily on Wednesday 7/24/2013 and I kid you not my tiger lily looks just as vibrant and colorful as the tattoos I just got on Wednesday. I know that when my new tattoos heal they will stay just as vibrant and gorgeous even with my brown skin during the summer time! I absolutely love my tattoos done by Patrick. They're my favorite tattoos on my body because they're the only ones that stayed looking beautiful. Lol.. I have decided that I will only be going to Patrick when I get more tattoos and I suggest you do the same.

I went to the shop with a friend. They got both of our tattoos started in 10-15  min. The artest I worked with was awesome I came in with a few ideas and we worked together to come up with something I LOVE. They did a great job

I went to see about getting a tattoo from this shop since a friend of mine just had one done and raved. I had a general drawing of an idea and took it in.  I walked in the shop and there was nobody around and then a minute later some guy comes walking out of the back.  He doesn't introduce himself or even ask me any questions, I just started the whole convo.  I showed him the design and he said it would take about a week for him to draw it up and he would get back to me.  Our little "consultation" took less than 5 minutes and he didn't even want to look at my drawing.  Needless to say it has been over a week and no phone call.  I took his card on my way out and that is how I found out his name was Patrick.  I was totally bummed and won't go back even if he does call...which he probably won't.  Customer service is a plus for some people.

Went there years ago,me and a friend got our first piercing there.I got the eye brow, she pierced her tongue. Her piercing was crooked in her tongue! stood at an angle and my eye brow ring was too far up the eyebrow! It was placed before my eyebrow arch,in the middle of my brow! Her tongue got infected, she ended up removing hers and i removed mine and got it redone much lower, where it should've been pierced.Of course i still have a scar from the first eye brow piercing though.they also had a pitt bull in there that had a pierced nose! The poor dog had a bull ring through it's nostrils!!I couldn't believe it,the dog looked miserable.I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone but the Humane Society.

Just got back from getting a tattoo, which I have been contemplating for a minute, however it has been long overdue.
I called before hand to make sure they took walk-Ins and they do. The place is easy to find and the Guys in there are laid back and cool.
Patrick spoke with me about my tattoo, got prep & tatted within a hour. He was really nice but professional.
I love my tattoo and its my favorite so far especially since it means so much to me- I will be coming back! Thank you again Patrick
    See u soon!

Absolutely love this place, hands down my favorite shop in the East Bay.

First off, I'll start with negative. There's only 1 negative really, and that is that the place is tiny.

Also, just a heads up, they don't have a piercer anymore, only tattoo artists.

Now, onto the good stuff. So far, I've gotten 2 tattoos here. One from Nate (the owner). His apprentice was supposed to tattoo me, but was feeling a little under the weather, and he sat right down, pulled out his equipment and gave me a great tattoo. My second, which I got done yesterday, is probably my favorite tattoo so far. It was done by Patrick. They've got a good group of guys in there, they don't mind chatting if you're waiting around or getting tattooed, and all of them are amazing artists. This is definitely a spot to come in if you're looking for new ink.

I have been to a lot of different tattoo shops and this is the ONLY place I have been to where they are actually nice to you. I have only gotten simple tattoos there but they did a quick and amazing job, they even touched up my other tattoos for cheap! The shop may jut be a little hole in the wall but they provide great customer service and great work and if you are looking for cheap prices then you will get a cheap tattoo so price shouldn't even matter, but the price was very fair for what they provide. Also the guy was so sweet he had to shave some of my hair to get the tattoo where I wanted and he was really concerned about shaving my head and it looking bad. It just proved they really care about their customers and their experience!

I got my dermal anchor here by JOHNNY a littleover 2 months ago. Everything about it has been great. Getting it done was fast easy and Johnny explained everything about the process while he was setting up. 2 months later the anchor has healed perfectly with no complications. I'd go back to Johnny for any piercing.

Got my 7th (I think) tattoo from Devin and I have nothing but stellar things to say about my experience. The staff is friendly and awesome and an easy group to be around even for hours while enduring pain. I got a tattoo on my foot which I should have known would be extremely painful but decided to risk it anyway. Devin worked with me to produce and original design that was to my liking. He was patient and attentive while working and kept up some light conversation while working. The guys in the shop are fun, funny and friendly. A couple stopped by to check out my work in progress and gave encouragement at how good it looked. In the end I walked out with an amazing tattoo that was more then I expected as far as quality and attention to detail. The tattoo took longer then I expected but this was because Devin has a great eye for detail and wanted to get it right. It was an awesome experience and I have no complaints... except for maybe they need a bigger space because it got crowded.

If you are looking for a great piercer, Johnny is the one to go see.  He is very educated and knows what he is doing.  He has been a piercer for many years so he has seen everything. Go see him if you haven't he's also an awesome guy!!!

I went here with a friend so she could get her first tattoo, which was just simple lettering, but the artist (I apologize but I've forgotten his name) did really well with it. Even though it was such a simple tattoo, he made sure that it was absolutely perfect and when it was done he said if she ever needed a touch up to come back in for free. So then I decided to get my belly button pierced. The piercer was very thorough with dare information, gave me a huge bag of sea salt for salt soaks (which places like Zebra will charge you $10 for something not even close to the same size) and they skip the BS and don't try to make you buy all their crap. Unfortunately the only jewelry they had was a clear head(diamond looking) one, but I was totally fine with it. and it was Friday the 13th so my piercing was only $13 + jewelry (around $15).
Besides that, very clean inside and nice people. I would go back and recommend it.

I have a tattoo that's months old yet looks like it's YEARS old. I don't blame it on how I took care of it because I did everything right---I blame the artist, especially after someone who knows their stuff looked at it and confirmed that it was crappy tattoo work done by an AMATEUR.

My first tat is 5 years old, is red, and still very bright and colorful. This second one has a lot of meaning to me and is special because it's in honor of someone, but is faded and has spots where the artist DID NOT fill in! So it's got "bald spots" and is horrible.

I can't even show the person I got the tattoo in honor of because it's so ugly.

I regret going to this place for that tattoo!!!!! I wish I didn't tip the guy so high, but I was in a very happy and generous mood back then since the tat's so important. Now I need to go get it touched up by a REAL tattoo artist.

    Go to some other place.

Honestly, I've been to this shop like 4 times and still haven't gotten anything done but this review is for Nate and the awesome work I've seen him do. All the guys here are funny and pretty cool. Nate is a great artist and I strongly recommend him. They welcome walk-ins but seriously they get hella busy so call ahead for an appointment.

I love this place! It's clean, the guys are funny and personable but completely professional when it's time to work, and I always feel welcome here.
I've gone a couple of times to get tattoos by Nate, and I'll keep going until I'm "done" or he retires. I'm sticking to him as my artist, but all the guys are really talented and I've recommended this place to everyone who's ever asked me a good place to go. And when asked, "Is there a certain artist I should ask for?" I always say, "Go in talk to them about what you want and they'll set you up with the guy who can make it happen."
Had my daughters ears pierced here so that it would be done with a needle, not a gun. She was real nervous when it was time to sit down, but the piercer was so nice, calm and soft spoken that he instantly put her at ease.
All around... BEST place to go if you want a tattoo or piercing!

Went to DV8 for a nose stud. Had been wanting one for over a decade. Here I am a rather straight laced gal and the artists here did not treat me any differently than anyone else. Mich made me feel comfortable and was very professional. The piercing smarted, but I expected that. The instructions on caring for my piercing were amusing, "treat it like a friend and don't " f " with it"  One day later, it is feeling much better. Mich, thanks for the advice and a great job!

Thinking about a tattoo and when I decide to do it, I will go here. Their atmosphere was very welcoming, clean and the artwork pretty fab.

This place was definitely the right choice for my tattoo. I got a tribal type snake and it was done very quickly and cleanly. Before I got it someone told me I should be skeptical about tattoos that are done in 20 minutes but mine turned out even better than I expected. I will definitely be going here again soon!

Josh of DV8 gave me my first tattoo in February of this year. I walked in around 9:00 one Saturday night, and hemmed and hawed a bit, and then choose a tattoo. Josh took the pic, completely changed it, and tattooed me. An open red rose, with leaves, and a black tribal-type backing.

Josh and the guys in the shop took the time to make me comfortable, and help me get prepared to have ink and needle put to my skin. Throughout the entire process Josh and guys in the shop were great - they joked around, answered my questions, and made this a wonderful experience.

It is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've seen. It's driven me to get the other tattoos I now have...and the ones I plan to get in the future.

    Mahalo nui loa, Josh!

Crap I dont know who from this place did my friends tattoo but this is the place she went and the reason I went to Diablo Ink instead.  DON'T go here.  Hers looks so bad.  It was her 1st tattoo and she got three stars like mine but smaller and on her shoulder the guy did some shading maybe that made it looks blurry.  The colors aren't right she wanted purple it look pinkish She hates it.  Go to Diablo Ink instead they are awsome!

I love this place. It looks exactly the way I think a tattoo shop should look. It's small but comfortable, drawings tacked up on the walls and the atmosphere is great.

The artists are all very talented. They treat you really well. They're friendly and patient and do their best to make you feel comfortable.

    They're fantastic.

I've been inked here several times, and have always been pleased with the results. The artists are awesome, and the foot tattoo I got from Josh barely hurt at all, and looks amazing. They also did a cover up on my ex a while back, and it is one of the best cover ups I've ever seen.

The colors they use there are great too, really rich and bright. They also do piercings so I went back for a nose stud, which I'm also really happy with. And it doesn't hurt that the piercer is hot too!

As an ink addict, I'm sure I'll be visiting DV8 again.

I'm reviewing you Roper - my new most favorite tattoo artist in the world!

For my daughter's 20th birthday last week she decided she wanted to get matching tattoos with me - I felt like the best momma in the world when she said that!!

Being an illustrated woman in my own right, I agreed.  I told her you pick it out and I will set it up!

We head down for matching dragonfly tattoos - I already had three dragonflies but this is my daughters pick and I'm down with whatever she wants.  Hell, she could have picked an artichoke wearing a sombrero and I'd have said "lets do it!"

    Do it, we did.

My daughter's tattoo cherry has been popped.  I told her to give it a year she will be working on sleeves.  She said it hurts and she doubts it - I say, "yeah, that is what I said too!"  And, look at me now!

Thank you Roper for hooking us up.  You are my tattoo hero.  I cannot wait to have you do more work on me.

I'd give 100 more stars if I could just for the mere fact that my daughter thinks I'm cool enough to get matching tattoos with!
