In response to "Robert O.", I'll keep it simple. This review is entirely true, and not meant to be anything but an honest account of our experience. The tattoo that was done by Gerrit is a Lord of the Rings half sleeve, and can be found on Firefly's webpage in Gerrit's "In progress" portfolio. Page 2, tattoo 27. I'm not sure how Robert would know the details about what happened in our sessions better then I would, but seeing that I have the pictures and the receipt, I think I have a better idea of what happened. And yes, I get my tattoo work done at another shop in Indy, a shop in San Francisco, California and a shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I consider all of those artists my friends.
Here is my original review:
Gerrit did a coverup on my fiancee's old armband, and the entire experience was a disappointment. We traveled to Indianapolis from Michigan (about a 4 1/2 hour trip) after seeing his art online and at an expo in Detroit. We had a 6pm appointment, but Gerrit was still working on another person when we arrived. Apparently she had an appointment that week that he didn't even show up for, so he bumped her to our slot. Once we got started a few hours after arriving, he told us that he had to go shopping with his wife, and couldn't stay for the entire session, despite starting late. We ended up having to drive down twice more so he could finish the tattoo.
There are much better, much more professional artists in Indy then these guys. Do yourself a favor and shop around!
