Not bad. I've gotten 2 tattoos here, I love both. The environment is very 'drugs & rock n roll' ish. It's not the most sterile environment, but the techs are very nice & helpful.

Don't even try to go here. Called the day before and was told to just come in for the tattoo I wanted. Went in and stood there for 20 min. Without someone even talking to me. Ill take my business else where. Holly

    Update on my previous review!
So, based on my review on here about the owner of Flying Monkey, the owner himself messaged me (back in January) and informed me that he would be filing a lawsuit against me for "libel", aka telling people what happened when I came into his shop.

The message was full of more homophobia, more transphobia, and more misogyny, not surprisingly at all. This guy is so fucking delusional that he views me posting the truth about him and his shop as "slander".

As quoted from his email: "By commenting as you did on Yelp you have slandered me,Libelously damaging myself, my business and reputation and have denied me my civil rights of being able to publicly express my beliefs and expression under the 1rst amendment of The Constitution of the United States of America."

    bummer

Another fun quote: "Whether or not I feel that "GAY "or transgender or whatever they call themselves to bring attention to whatever "rights"have been denied them is acceptable is my "right"under the Constitutionof free speech and freedom of expression."

Nobody's taking away your right to free speech, Michael Flores. You're allowed to be a dick as much as you want. This is America, after all. But I have every right to tell people not to get tattooed at your shop. Also, go fuck yourself.

    ETA:

Public record of more threats from Michael Flores, owner of Flying Monkey Tattoo in Pittsburgh, PA:

"Not only am I going to sue you,I am going to make you my pet project for the year,my reach goes far as you are soon about to learn,my attorney will be in touch."

Scary! Also not a very good business tactic!

I was in Pittsburgh for a conference, during a break one evening I was walking by the shop. Being from Kansas and a name of flying monkey I had to stop in.  I have had a arm piece in mind for awhile I talked to the person at the front desk and they recommended I talk to one of the artist his name is Mihailo Vukelic. I showed him what I was looking for and he said that he could do it. His work is second to NO one he absolutely is unbelievable. I was so impressed with his work that we are already planning a trip back to Pittsburgh to get more work done.

DONT EVER GO HERE FOR PIERICINGS.

1.) They used the wrong clamp for my piercing.

THEY USED THE WRONG CLAMP.  Cough Cough I mean SHE.

I HAD TO GET IT SURGICALLY REMOVED a few days later.

Pretty cool Spinal piece tattoo though but I got that one when it was still Angry Moon by Tex Mike :)
