I have been seeing Rene for lashes for many, many months. Â She is professional, friendly and her work is outstanding. Â I have had people comment on how beautiful my lashes were and, when I told them they were extensions, they couldn't believe it.
I have also been going to Holley for my nails. Â She is so creative. Â Right now I have watermelon slices on my fingers! Â I love her fun, playful spirit.
And finally, I am now using Jazmyn for hair. Â She is just out of beauty school and looking to build her clientele. Â She is fresh, meticulous and full of ideas!
I don't even know where to begin. Saw them on groupon on a Wednesday, called them several times throughout the day, no answer. Called them throughout the day Thursday-Saturday, no answer. Left voicemails, never received a return call. Called them Tuesday (closed Sundays and Mondays) and finally Renee answered. I asked if there were openings for lash extensions and she said in August. The groupon will have expired by then! She spoke over me the entire time while telling me "this is why it's important to call right away." I said I've been trying to reach you for days-she interrupts, "we always return calls, sorry we were playing phone tag." Uh no. No we weren't. I said I needed to return the groupon because I will be moving soon and she said "well good luck, I don't think groupon will refund you just cause you're not going to be here." I can't believe how poor her customer service is. Never going there.
Review Source:Rene Halstead at Free Spirit in Gresham does such a great job on eye lashes, brow tint, etc.. She is very detailed and works so hard to make the customer happy.

Ugh.. started out as a 5 star because of all the awesome choices of sparkly shellac like I've never seen, as well as all of the different things that this shop does including eyelash extensions, piercings, tattoos, etc.
And, this is exactly why it ends up as a 2 star.
The owner has SO many things going on all at the same time, including 2 groupon specials that she has NO time for anyone.
While she was doing my nails,
she was answering the phone to schedule an appt. with a client,
and ushering another client into a room to do their eyelashes.
On top of that, she had 1 person doing hair,
and 1 other person doing nails.
Holly is the only saving grace at this place. Â She did a fantastic job on our nails.
I had a groupon for a pedi and a mani, and ended up not being able to get my manicure finished because my polish took way too long to take off.
That's what I was told.
I had the option of going back to get it finished.
No way I would go back there.
Someone is juggling way too much and not giving any undivided attention to any of her customers as far as I could see. Perhaps hiring more people might help?

As far as the "free spirit" part of this salon's name, if that's what you want to call the lack of organization of appts, well there you have it.
I bought a package from Groupon for a Full Set of Eyelash costing $125, which I had to pay for a week in advance. The next day I saw they had a Groupon for $89, with a fill, eye mask and eyebrow wax, etc. Â I called to see if I could switch packages and Rene stated that I could, I also bought a package for my mother. Â The advertisement photo on Groupon had a lady with thick full lashes that looked natural. Â This is what I was expecting. Â I got this package for a special event coming up so I was shopping around other places and they stated that they normally place about 50-60 lashes on each eye. Â So I expected the same when I went into Free Spirit, this is not what I got. Â I arrived to my appointment on time and waited around until I was greeted by the receptionist after she was done texting, at which time she proceeded to sit next to me and regale me with her very personal, very gross medical conditions. Â NO one ever gave me any instruction on what was going on, if someone was running late or what. Â My appt was at 6pm and it was now 6:30 and still no clue what was going on with my appt. Â Finally about 6:40 Rene arrived and said sorry and told me to lie down. Â She hurried through some treatments and gathered her things. Â She kept placing eyelashes on and cursing because they were not cooperating with her, two hours later I was able to get up and look in the mirror, I was horrified. Â I had SUPER heavy, long and sparse lashes. Â NOT what I anticipated or was shown on advertisement. Â She stated that I have super thin lashes; if she knew this she should have used a lighter weight product or not done them at all. Â When I got up to the register she demanded her gratuity and even calculated how much I was to pay her based off the original price of the services. Â I was shocked, confused and am wondering if she does this with all her clients. Â This is not what gratuity is you earn it, it's not mandatory. Â She didn't even do all the services she included in calculating her gratuity such as the eyelash dye or the fill, and I'm not going back so I feel super cheated. Â I went home that night and counted my lashes, I have 22 per eye and losing them by the day. Â I called the next day to let her know my frustration and also ask if they could be trimmed. Â The receptionist called me and left me a message stating that no, they can't be trimmed and they look nice and that I'm just not use to them. Â I have had several people ask me what is wrong with my lashes; they are irritatingly long and twisted, not to mention the itchy feeling on my eyelids. Â I am super self conscious about them and also I can't go outside as they flap in the wind and poke me in the eyes. Â Â I am suppose to be in a wedding this weekend and am going to be fumbling with them the whole time. Â I want them off and a refund. Â My Mother is suppose to get hers done too and now she doesn't want to because of all the problems mine has caused. Â DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE OR ANY OTHER THEY ARE OFFERING! Â I feel sorry for all the people who just bought Groupons for this service.
