  Goodkind Tattoo is awesome!  I was looking to get my first tattoo which was to be a memorial tattoo for my grandmother who just passed away.  I shopped around to other area tattoo shops but all of the artists were cold and did not give me any artistic input.  They basically wanted to tattoo me with something that had already been done.  When I visited Goodkind, this was NOT the case.  Rob came out and introduced himself, shook my hand and listened to what I wanted to have done.  I initially was set on having a picture my grandma and I holding hands (just the hands part).  He tastefully told me "while this is a beautiful picture, anytime someone tattoos a picture of hands, the thumb ends up looking like a dick."  I definitely did not want this.  We began talking and I showed him a medallion my grandmother always wore.  He then grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and began sketching this beautiful design.  He saw exactly what I wanted and listened.  He hit every aspect I wanted to portray in my tattoo to honor my grandmother and I love it!  He also helped me avoid certain embarrassment by having a penis like look on my arm that I would forever have.
  
  Rob is a true artist and professional.  He made sure to talk me through over an over again as to what I needed to do to be sure it heals properly and that I don't get infected.  He also runs a very clean shop and ensures that you are comfortable all the time.  The price was very very reasonable too.  I would definitley recommend Goodkind Tattoo to anyone over and over again.  When I am ready for my next one, I'll be going back!!!

  Nicest tattoo shop!! Showbiz did a sibling tattoo for us. He was so nice and patient. I've been to a few tattoo shops and they always come off rude and snobby. Not here, he made us feel welcome and didn't feel awkward the whole time. Clean lines, clean spot, and great customer service. This spot will be my go to spot and recommend everyone and anyone.

  Goodkind Tattoo is the kind of shop you spend months looking for.  Rob is super friendly and the workspace is INCREDIBLY clean (which is always reassuring to see when you're getting a tattoo done).  He is always willing to work meticulously with you on the artwork you want and is fun to talk to while you're sitting for hours.  It's not often you can walk into a shop without feeling intimidated by the grizzled veterans of the tattoo industry.  Rob definitely makes you feel at ease with the work being done and the time spent in the chair.  
  
  I can't say enough about how great the shop is, and could not recommend it any higher.  I plan on going back for my the rest of my tattoos.

  I saw this place a few months back while heading down Belmont, and I decided to check it out. It may have been the best decision I've ever had.
  I'm not sure what the best part about Goodkind Tattoo is. Rob is super friendly (so is Curtis), and they're very professional about the whole tattooing. Rob keeps the place spotless and sincerely cares about the cleanliness before, during, and after tattooing. Everything's done by the books, and it seems that Rob goes above and beyond other tattoo artists in that respect.
  And Rob might be one of the most talented artists around town. When I say "artist," I truly mean it. He can help transform your ideas into something brilliant and completely unique. Each time Rob draws up an idea I have, I'm always blown away.  He puts a lot of thought into his work, and it shows. Honestly, the use of color, the line work...you'd think he's been tattooing for decades.
  I've been recommending Goodkind Tattoos to all of my friends, so now it's time I recommend this place to all of Chicago. I know a handful of people (myself included) that have gone to Rob multiple times, and there's a reason- he's the best. I will never go anywhere else, because Goodkind Tattoo is un-fucking-touchable. Get off Yelp and find out for yourself!

  I cannot say enough good things about Rob and Goodkind tattoo. Super clean shop, friendly staff, the perfect tattoo parlor. Rob is the third artist I have been to and as long as he is in the business I will never go to anywhere else. His work holds up well over time and he is a master at color and shading work. I bring him an idea that's kinda fuzzy in my head and he presents me with a work of art better than my wildest dreams! Can't wait to go back in April for my next piece, I recommend  this shop to everyone and even usually keep a couple of his cards in my wallet as I am often complimented on his work.

  I have 6 tattoos that I have received from 6 different artists in 6 different cities.
    Prior to deciding on this place I had looked at his website. I liked what he did with color and with flowers and because the tattoo I had in mind was going to be very vibrant and leafy, I decided to go by and check him out.
    First thing I noticed is there are no tattoo designs on the wall, only the owners framed art. I liked this very much. To me, it makes a statement about the integrity of his art.
    Second thing I noticed is the owners welcoming demeanor. He's not 'that creepy tattoo guy'. He made me feel comfortable to talk about what I wanted and has a way of giving his opinion and still letting you feel like your decision is the best decision. Later, as I was getting work done, I was able to witness how he treated others who walked in and it was exactly the same. Well, other than the jerk who seemed very upset that they do not do piercing in this shop.  Which again brings be back to the integrity of his art.
    All in all I am very impressed. This kid is OCD clean freak. By far the cleanest I have gone to. Not that my other tatts  were done in back alleys or anything. They were all done professionally its just that this guy was noticeably cleaner.  
    As of now, I only have an outline. I am looking forward to completing it but I have a feeling it will end up an ongoing project for a while. I love what he has done so far and I am pretty sure that this will be my last and largest tattoo.  
    I really went with my gut since he is 'the new kid' and he doesn't have any reviews or anything. I am sure I made the right choice.
   My husband, who has no tattoos, smiled wide when he saw Robs work on my arm when I came home. This was the best part.

  I have been wanting to do a Fleur de lis on my upper back/neck area for a while now.  My fiancee and I are getting married next October in New Orleans, so I wanted one last Tattoo to signify me finally finding true love.  ANYWAY, I found this CLEAN and FRIENDLY Tattoo place to be spectacular!  Rob the owner, was SO nice and gentle. I have a couple others, which I am very happy with, but Rob's artistry and kindness could very well make me go back for another, although I promised I wouldn't get anymore!  We'll see.  Bottom line, Go see Rob and his apprentice, Curtis.  They are artistic but not the snobby Tattoo guys that you can run into at GOOD Tattoo places
