The best tattoo shop in Florida....period.

I needed to get two tattoos covered up on my ankle (one on each side) and in a perfect world wanted them to be covered with one new tattoo.   One of the tattoos was a huge BLACK apple, so I figured this was pointless to even try to cover.

After I did a lot of research and talked to several friends, I was directed to Hart & Huntington in Orlando.  I worked with the shop manager, Chris and sent him some examples of what I wanted to do and he matched me up with Jeremie LaFrance.  I took a look at Jeremie's portfolio and I was sold.

I made my appointment to come to the shop and drove 2 hours to get there.  It's at Universal City Walk, so you have to pay for parking, but it's about the same you'd have to pay at a garage in downtown Orlando, so no big deal.  Once I got there, I was floored.  The shop is dope, they have a nice line of clothing and some cool hats, shoes, etc.

One thing that is very cool is that they have an interactive kiosk with iPads for you to go through all the images in each artists portfolios.  This is not a shop where you pick stencil #56 and get the stock "rose" tattoo.  These guys specialize in high end custom tattoos that you're not going to find anywhere else.

On to my tattoo....Jeremie LaFrance is a artistic magician! Much to my surprise he drew up an absolutely sick tattoo that not only would cover up both my tattoos, but also stayed within the size constraints I wanted.  Your average artist would've needed to cover up half my leg in order to make a design to get rid of these nightmare hack jobs I wanted to get rid of.

I've been tattoo'd eight times and this was by far the best tattoo I have and Jeremie was the best artist I've ever worked with.  Aside from his meticulous artwork, he has a very "light hand" and even in the most tender spots of my foot and ankle he tattoo'd very carefully.

This is the only shop that I'd trust for another tattoo in the future.  Every artist that works there is absolutely off the hook.  Jeremie did mine, but JC, Russell, Jime and the rest of the guys are top notch artists....def the best in the town and quite arguably the entire state of Florida.

Over the years I've been inked and had them covered too.  Let me give you a solid piece of advice and tell you that there is no price tag or distance that is too much for something that is on you for the rest of your life (my tattoo was VERY competitively priced....just a point).  Pick your artist carefully and make sure you love what and where you're going to get your ink.  The thing I really respect about the guys at H&H is that they listen to what you want, but they offer up really good advice for placement, color, etc.

If you're going to get tattoo'd, then go to Hart & Huntington.  You will thank me.

I got a pretty simple tattoo and JC did a fantastic job on it.  The lady at the front counter was very courteous and professional as was the rest of the staff.  The store was very clean and it was an enjoyable experience (minus the pain of the tattoo).

I must admit while the artists have beautiful work on the website, the guy that answers the email needs some training. I was told that he discussed my email with my preferred artist and to come in when I got a chance. I know these guys are busy but thought I would give it a shot.

After paying $15 for parking I find that the artist had no time to see me. I then find out that this happens all the time by the guy that took my information. It's been two weeks and I have not heard from the artist.

I was planning on spending quite a bit of money on my art but now since the place is obviously poorly run I won't spend a dime. I'm sure if the owners knew how the shop was run they would be very unhappy.

I had an appointment today at 6PM. It says so on the card Jeremie gave me. I arrive about 20 mins late and he was working on someone else, no big deal, right? Wrong, he's too busy to even come out and talk to me, and some pipsqueak at the counter tells me my appointment was at 2PM and they took me off the schedule. So another artist comes out and jacks up the price $200 over what Jeremie quoted, telling me he couldn't do HALF the work I was originally quoted for at around $300-350. I should pay more.... for less work.... because you can't get organized? I did the smart thing and walked out - you shouldn't even walk in unless you feel like getting treated like dirt from some tool who doesn't understand customer service and that customers pay your bills, so show a little respect when you screw up something! The AWFUL service caused me to write this review everywhere I could find, Jeremie was nothing but kind to me and got me scheduled and I would have gladly paid $500 for quality work that I was promised, but when a bumbling artist that looks like Stu from The Hangover tells me his rates are different than Jeremie's and can t do what Jeremie said he could do, I'm not about to sit through hours of work and be unhappy at the end of it.... Do yourself a favor and avoid this tourist trap at all costs - I'm a local and drove 30 minutes each way to get there and won't ever go back with that kind of nonsense!

Interested in getting a tattoo? well this might be the place for you. Good staff, moderate prices (i guess since I never really gotten one), centrally located in the heart of downtown universal.
My girl Hannah got one here and I must say it's quite nice.
The store has a nice selection of clothes, shoes etc etc.

When it comes to a permanent addition to your birthday suit, I believe in only the best.

I knew I wanted to take the leap to my next tattoo while we were visiting Orlando, so I searched out the best and brightest via Yelp. Hart and Huntington sounded like a winner, so we headed over to Citywalk and bit the bullet for the $15 parking fee.

The shop is edgy and hip, with a sweet selection of clothes and shoes.

The dude at the counter was helpful and cool. He gave me a book from which to choose my preferred font, and helped with a couple different spacing and layout options.

I had to wait about 20 minutes for the tattoo artist to come back for lunch, but it was definitely worth the wait. Ike, my artist, was totally cool.

The experience itself was awesome. It hurt a bit, on my wrist - I think due to the vein placement. But I can deal. :)

We chatted throughout the process, with Ike regaling me with tales of people throwing up, fainting, and peeing themselves during tattoo time. Insane!

I love the finished product. It wasn't even red afterwards, and it looks freaking awesome. Thanks H & H! You rocked my world!

My partner and I have been to H & H Tattoo 3 times now.  We started out by knowing the name from the A&E show, before they opened in Orlando.  Once they opened, I knew I would have to get a tat there, what I didn't know was that I was going to find THE BEST DAMN TATTOO ARTIST IN ORLANDO!!!!  Jeremie LaFrance has been tattooing myself, my partner, my mother, my aunt, and several of our friends for the last 3 years.  He has given me 4 so far.

I have always been happy with Jeremie's work, but his time he blew... me... AWAY!!!  Both my partner and I got tat's, in the same day, both with intricate details and lots of color, and they are both STELLAR!!!  Jeremie is a true artist with the ability to understand exactly what it is you want.  I gave him my description of what I wanted, and the next week when I came in, he had drawn EXACTLY what I had envisioned.

If your looking for a cheap tattoo, this is not the place to go.  But, if your looking for a good tattoo, I would HIGHLY recommend this artist, as well as this location.  The  place is always clean, and the staff are very friendly, and helpful.  Most people don't even realize that CityWalk has a tattoo shop, but I am here to share with you, they have one of the BEST!!!

Thank you Jeremie, for always giving me great art to wear on my skin!!!

I know way too much about tattoos for only having two and have been keeping tabs on all the great artists in the area and in general for years. I got a tattoo from Cool-Aid at H&H this weekend and it was the best tattoo experience I've ever had and could hope for. I had been thinking about a tattoo design for a couple years, but it took me a while to find the right artist and the right shop. H&H ended up being perfect for me. Everyone at the shop was friendly and helpful, the shop was clean, and all of the artists portfolios looked great. The piece I got was custom. I talked to Cool-Aid about what I was thinking that morning and by the time I went in for my appointment, he had it already drawn up for me to look at. He really took the time to talk with me about it and made a couple adjustments on the drawing so I would be 100% happy with it. He was also great to talk with while he was tattooing me. I walked away with an AMAZING tattoo! The color is bright and it came out even better than I imagined it could. I've got nothing but love for Hart and Huntington Orlando!!!

A tad hard to find if you don't know where to look.  Its a small locale located up the stairs on the semi-second floor.

I walked in determined to get a tramp stamp.  OK seriously...  I went in because it looked like they had some great trinkets for the biker chick in me.  They did!

I purchased a wicked choker with a heart with flaming wings on it.  Nice.  Good price.  The individuals inside do not however interact with us touristy dorks unless they have to so if you don't look like Carey Hart, don't expect more than a glance and an eye roll your way.

My close friend and I went to Hart & Huntington to get spur of the moment tattoos.  Three days later, we were able to get inked.  They only accept walk-ins, so the first two days we went, we arrived too late at night and had to keep coming back. Finally on Sunday we got there before the artists arrived at about 11:45 am and were able to get scheduled for 2pm appointments.

I had work done with Chad and she had work done with Robert.  Both did fantastic jobs! We love our new tattoos. Chad has more of a cartoon-y vibe, and as I wanted a cartoon-y tat, we worked well together. My friend wanted more detailed work and Robert gave her a very realistic drawing.

If it weren't for he hefty price tag, we would both continue our sleeves with these two guys at Hart & Huntington... maybe if we win the lottery...

PS - Parking at Universal used to be free after 6pm, but now it's $3 from 6pm until 10 pm. We had to pay $12 for parking the day we got our tattoos.

My husband and I stumbled across this place while on our Honeymoon. I expected it to be just a merchandise store. Much to our delight, they have tattoo artists there!

As a tattoo "collector", my husband wanted to commemorate the trip with a tattoo.

JC did his tattoo and it turned out looking INCREDIBLE. Seriously amazing work.

It's not cheap, but with tattoos you get what you pay for. And do you really want to bargain shop with something that is going to be on you FOREVER? The quality of JC's work and the experience was worth every penny.

The staff is super friendly. No crappy attitudes or anything. Just really cool people.

They have a lot of great merchandise, too.

Definitely a place to check out if you want an awesome tattoo or some cool t-shirts.
