I visited Heena's for the first time last Friday. Â I have gone to different places throughout the Metroplex to get threaded but this salon was actually clean and had air conditioning. Â Most threading places are hot (and I can't deal with that in 104 degree days!). Â This place was pretty large with many chairs and women ready to remove your unwanted facial hair. Â I don't think they take appointments because there is a number system where you pull a ticket. Â They can get you in/out within 15 minutes so making an appt is not necessary. Â
It had been awhile so I wanted my whole face done. Â My technician was very fast and skilled. Â What I liked was that she would ask me if I wanted baby powder or lotion before applying. Â I have been to places where they don't ask and just glop whatever on you. Â One thing I did not care for was that she asked me to put a headband on that I saw was on her previous client. Â I had already put my hair up in a clip but I guess it wasn't out of the way enough- I think it was my tech's personal preference. Â **Tip: Â bring your own headband- you never know what's on those headpieces- i know she did not place it in that Barbicide after the last customer.***
When it came time to pay, I noticed that your tips needed to be in cash. Â I thought the lady said "Fifty dollars". Â I thought that it was a little steep but I had paid $40 in Southlake for a not-so-clean salon. Â So I gave her a $10 tip on what I thought was a $50 tab- she looked at me funny. Â When I got home, I noticed she ran it for $15! Â Score! Â No wonder the lady was confused on why I gave her a $10 tip on a $15 bill. Â I definitely will be returning to the salon and highly recommend this place to anyone in the Collin County area.
NEVER AGAIN.
The problem with Heena Salon is that they are so busy and concerned with getting people in and out that they fail to listen to what their customers are asking for.
I went in today to get my eyebrows threaded. I have naturally full eyebrows and asked the lady to leave my eyebrows as THICK as possible - I simply wanted her to clean my eyebrows up. She responded very indifferently and instructed me to lean back. 5 minutes later, I open my eyes and my eyebrows are PENCIL THIN (not to mention there were still stray hairs that weren't cleaned up). She completely ignored my request and did what she wanted with my eyebrows. Lesson learned: don't trust just anybody with your eyebrows. I'm sure some of the ladies here are great, but I would now never go in blindly and assume that everyone here knows what they're doing and will listen to you.
I really like Heena in the Frisco location - the people are nice and respectful, its a clean place and the prices are pretty cheap, given the location. I used to go to Styles of India for my eyebrows but now i come to Heena b/c its cheaper.
Also, if you go M-Thur and get a facial, you get free eyebrow threading which is a good deal. I've never had one of their facials but they're only $30 and i'm looking forward to trying it.
I have been going to Heena Salon in Richardson since 2008 due to their lowwww prices. You can't imagine how excited I felt when I discovered Heena in Frisco while shopping at the Stonebriar mall (it's near Half Priced Books..across from Target). One of the ladies that work there told me they have been in the area for about a year. This location is obviously newer and looks brighter than the Richardson location. I have never had to wait and the quality is the comparable to the other location. Check it out! Eyebrow threading is only 4 bucks!
