A buddy recommended Hell or High Water Tattoo to me so I went in with a crude drawing in a text message on my phone and no appointment. They kindly welcomed me and I met with Eric who said he could take me shortly. I showed him the drawing and said I wanted it, just a little darker, and he turned this crude sketch into something great. And for a great price, too. He was very accommodating with my heavy smoking habit and my surprisingly low tolerance to pain (this is a recent development), allowing me to take breaks when the wincing became too much. It's a shame I don't live in New Orleans, otherwise I'd have found my permanent tattoo artist. From here on, whenever I visit, I'm scheduling something with Eric beforehand.

Eric, if you see this for some reason, thanks. I love my new arm.

Living part-time in New Orleans, I happened upon Eric Huffman at Hell or High Water Tattoo and have been back three times thus far. Eric is an artist, slightly tormented as most true artists are and it plays out beautifully in his skill as an illustrator as well as his fantastic usage of color. I had some vague ideas about just what I wanted and Eric did quite a number of sketches and conceptualized an amazing tattoo. Eric worked around my schedule and the price was very fair. I expect Eric will be adding further to his book of business steadily as his reputation continues to grow as an expert artist.

We took a trip to NOLA for the weekend and decided to get another tattoo. Found this place using the "Around Me" app, and then looked it up on Yelp! The previous comments are all true.  Tis is a cool little shop off the beaten path and away from the tourist district. We were walk-ins around 5:00 pm on a Sunday and I was helped by Eric Huffman.  I was looking for something to represent the birth signs of my two children and had a vague idea what I wanted, but when I explained my concept to Eric, he made great suggestions and steered me in the right direction. He got busy working up the stencil and personalized it using his professional experience to make it a damn good tattoo.  This guy is very talented and you should seek him out if you want a great tattoo.  He quoted a very fair price for a tattoo that took him a good two and a half hours.
The shop started to get busy and most of Eric's co-workers had bailed on him, leaving only him in the shop. Of course, that's when all the walk-ins started so we were interrupted several times. Eric was professional about it, but it was a bit frustrating. Oh, and by the way, you should take note that this place is CASH ONLY and there are no ATM machines close by other than at the Shell Gas Station three blocks away that charges a $3 fee to get cash and is limited to $200 per withdraw.  You're better off showing up with cash straight away.
I'm extremely happy with the tattoo that Eric designed and placed on my forearm.  Thanks Eric, see ya on our next trip to New Orleans!

I'd been thinking about getting another tattoo for years, but never felt comfortable enough with any shop or artist. My background is writing/journalism, so I wanted some lines from a poem on my ribs. Another shop actually told me I probably didn't REALLY want words, but they would be happy to draw up a picture representing the poem. What the...? Anyway, by the time I stopped by Hell or High Water I'd pretty much given up on getting the tat I wanted.

However, I spoke to Skitch here, who sat down with me and helped me pick the best font, played with the spacing and made really constructive suggestions. He was super professional and made me feel as comfortable as possible.

Listen, Im not covered in tattoos or anything and I wouldn't say im a connoisseur of tattoos, but I know good art when I see it and Jordan is the SHI. Just take a look at his and the shop and its in house artists art on FB or in the shop and see what I mean. Jordan and the other staffers of this Magazine Street gem are just as nice and cool as can be...something that is way important in my book when choosing an artist to ink up my bod.

I received a tattoo from Jordan and I am going back there in a month to get another. I actually cant imagine having any other person tattoo me other than him since my experience was so spectacular. His technique was flawless and gentle and he stayed late to accommodate my schedule.

Do yourself a favor and DONT get a tattoo anywhere else than this amazing shop. It will not disappoint.

First off the decor in this place is awesome - lots of taxidermy and macabre art. They also play great music. Staff is a little rough but that's exactly how I like it. My roommate and I both got our work done by Eric and it's top notch. I wanted to go small on my first tattoo but Eric advised me otherwise. Apparently size does matter.

Holy shit, Jordan is the PRO. I've got a helluva lot of tattoos from a helluva lot of different places, and he was by far the most skilled artist I have ever seen. The shop itself is pretty rad too! Great art on the walls, nice staff and super clean. The Zom-Benet Ramsey doll (yep, a zombie Jon-Benet Ramsey) was a pretty hilarious DIY touch too!

My bf and i planned to get tattoos on our visit to NOLA and we completely lucked out when a friend of ours introduced us to Jordan. He drew something up for us (based on the logo of our fave bar in the city!) and kindly stayed a bit late at the shop one night to tattoo us, but based on the quality of work he did you would never guess it was a job he had to squeeze in to his schedule. Another friend of ours was getting her arm tattoo touched up by him before our appontment, and it was incredible what a difference he made by fixing up someone else's shading and line work!

As for getting the tattoo, he was super quick but very precise. Honestly, i have never seen or received any tattoos like it! Jordan has been tattooing for a long time and you can tell he is an incredible professional who has mastered his craft! Next time i'm back in NOLA i am definitely going to get more work by him!

So I got a tattoo. It is my first tattoo, but my wife and I have been thinking and planning our tattoos for quite some time. We didn't intend to go to Hell or High Water (aka F* You Tattoo). In fact, it was somewhat of an accident. In fact, we had intended to get our tattoo at Eye Candy.

Here's how our story goes. I had contacted Eye Candy via email. Unfortunately, tattoo artists aren't the most reliable of people, and despite confirming an appointment with my friend, the artist that we had signed up with at Eye Candy did not have me or my wife down for an appointment. My friend, however, did get his in (with Erica at Eye Candy). Frustrated, I asked Michael at Eye Candy if he had any other recommendations. And where did he recommend we go? "Go to Jordan at Hell or High Water."

I remembered Hell or High Water, as it had the guy with the face tats sitting out front. Of course, someone with a face tattoo evokes a certain response from some people, and I admit that I was at first taken a little back. Luckily, Skitch (I hope I spelled that right) could not have been nicer.

So we ambled in to Hell or High Water, and Skitch worked his magic, dealing with both me and my wife quickly and professionally. We paged through his book and he had some seriously good stuff. Jordan, one of the other artists, was out, as was Tony. Skitch had the idea of him inking my wife and another artist, Jimmy, doing my tattoo.

Skitch--His bedside manner could teach doctors a thing or two. Jimmy is a crazy mofo, but one very good artist. Jimmy took to calling me "Marty" because he liked it better than Jarrod. About 2.5 hours later, I was done (my wife was done a bit earlier). Needless to say, the cost to quality ratio was amazing. Skitch and Jimmy have about 50 years of experience between the two of them, and we couldn't be happier. If and when I decide to do this again, you bet that I'll be coming back here.

We were skeptical at first, but this place was great! My husband and I got a Fleur De Lis on our wrist, while we were on vacation. Cool atmosphere and great work!

Found this Tattoo parlor down in the Garden District of New Orleans.  Great Vibe in the shop!  Tony the owner was great and set me up with Jordan who did my 3rd Tattoo which is by far my favorite.  These guys are top notch and worth visiting if you want a great tattoo in Nawlins.
