5 months later and I'm still very happy with the tattoo. People are often asking me about it and are impressed with how vibrant it is. Great deal.

Original review:
A week and one day ago I went in for a tattoo. Mike was my artist. It was my first. I went by yelp ratings and called quite a few of the top rated shops here on yelp. In my Capital Hill area, Ballard, Queen and and of course Fremont. 2 places were no right off the bat as they were rude on the phone. I am a tough critic as I work in Customer Service and want you to be at the least polite and hopefully helpful. 3 spots were helpful at first. One person quoted a hundred more than I ended up spending at Hidden Hand Tattoo. The girl who was scheduling me was talking to me in the tone that I was wasting her time. She was the second person I spoke to. The first girl was way more customer savvy. It was off putting and I changed my mind. She then said if you don't schedule now, it's going to be even longer before we can fit you in, as if that's incentive.
In the meantime hidden hand had got back to me and apologized for not getting back to me quicker about the pictures I had emailed. It had been decided that I should really come in for a consultation. They scheduled me for within a day or two. Mike looked at the two pictures I brought. He said it would only take him a day day and a half to get one ready. He was fine with me asking his opinion on the best font for the words I wanted. Serenity, Courage and Wisdom. I was lucky since I was not working at the time and got scheduled in for the next Monday. When I got there I was greeted in a friendly manner just like the first time I went into the shop. Mike came out and showed me the template which was exactly what I had in mind and a good melding of the two pictures I brought as a jump off point for the tattoo.
He was glad I was happy with the pic and went to get his work area set up. The tattoo took roughly an hour and a half and was exactly what I asked for and what he had shown me he was going to do. It is a simple red and black design. Meaningful to me as my dad was an alcoholic who was sober the last 10 years of his life. This year marks 20 years since he passed away. I am Native American and the colors for my tribes shawls are red and black. Really, the first comment made by my sister's brother was. NW Native American art. Cool! Mike was a steady worker and made sure I was OK, while he was doing his work.
So? Consistent good customer service. A nice clean working area. Professional workers. GREAT artwork. Not much more you can ask for from a tattoo shop. I happily recommend Hidden Hand. I would send my closest friends here for sure!

Jamie is a true pro and a super nice guy. Just got a superb piece done that he was able to draw up for me within an hour of showing up for my appt. The spot is clean, everyone who works there is nice and I can't wait to go back and get another piece done. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great tattoo shop.

I have been seeing Erika Jones for eight amazing years and I would *never* see anybody else. I will follow her wherever she goes, even if she ever moves out of state. She has done several beautiful coverups on me and such fantastic original art. I have recommended several people to her and they have all come back to me, claiming her as "our" artist instead of just mine or just theirs. She is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING... Formerly at SLAVE TO THE NEEDLE, you must see her in her new location at HIDDEN HAND TATTOO in Fremont. Same fantastic Erika in a new and exciting location!

After doing a search for tattoo cover artists in Seattle, looking through portfolios and digging for information from many-a ink-addicted friends, I found Erika Jones. She is a goddess. I get compliments on my tattoos almost every time I meet somebody new. I've sent several people to her and they all come back way beyond just satisfied with their masterpiece. That's what Erika creates; masterpieces. I found an artist that I don't even need to communicate with anymore. She knows exactly what I want.

I love people who love what they do. Erika loves what she does and it shows.

Don't be cheap when it comes to permanence. You get what you pay for.

I am loving my experience with Hidden Hand! Everyone there has been more than helpful and nice while I figured out what I wanted and timing and everything. The whole staff is professional and talented and really make you feel welcome. They asked if I wanted water, tea, or coffee while I waited for my artist!

I'm working the artist Ashley Dorr who is doing fantastic work and really patient with the fact that I'm a wimp with pain. She did not make me feel belittled in any way, and I felt really at ease with her (even when she was stabbing me with a needle over and over). She also did some real magic with a vague idea that I had and turned it into more than I could imagine.

I also recommend getting the "keeper of the ink" balm they sell there. It's really helped my tattoo heal nicely with minimal itchiness and flaking.

Last October I went here while vacation because an acquaintance of mine who is originally from Seattle recommended it. I had the privilege of having Ashley tattoo me. She gave me the best tattoo I've ever gotten and I absolutely love it. I don't really have tattoo anxiety, but I do have a bit of social anxiety and everybody in this shop was very kind and approachable. If I didn't live in San Diego I'd be there all the time.

I followed the best tattoo artist, Erika Jones, to Hidden Hand when she moved on from her prior gig. Hidden Hand is a super-friendly, comfortable place to have tattoos done. You will need to schedule a consultation, work with your artist, and probably wait a few weeks (or months) to get your art done, but this is FOREVER, so waiting should never be a big deal. Hidden Hand will work you into canceled slots if you are interested in that possibility.

The cost of the work is commensurate with the skill of the artist. Be willing to pay for fabulous!

With two full sleeves done, I do not currently have a project in the works. That is a huge bummer!

Go to Hidden Hand.....ask for Erika.....or one of the other fine artists....get a tattoo......and carry your art with you forever!

I went to Hidden Hand Tattoo after being recommended by a friend. I wanted an artist who could do realistic flowers, and was awesome at coverups. Roni was the girl for me!!!! Not only did she do a complete consultation (my original idea wasn't going to work out) but she was kind, and funny, and not afraid to give her opinion (i appreciated that). The day came to get inked. The drawing was beautiful, we twicked it a little bit though. I really loved that Roni didn't give me attitude when I adjusted the image. She was so nice and she just wanted me to be happy with it, since it is on MY body forever. The one thing that really stuck out to me about Roni is that when we were talking about cover-ups she said that she doesn't just do a cover-up to cover it up, she wants it to be beautfiul regardless and not be so obvious it's a cover-up. She's been tattooing for 20 years, she knows what shes doing!!! Its only been a day, but you can not see the original tattoo at all (I had serenity written on my foot in very dark black lettering). It is swollen, Roni warned me about that, but it is so delicate and realistic and I almost cried when she was all done. I am so happy with my experience with Roni and Hidden Hand Tattoo in general. All of the staff I encountered was so sweet and helpful, and there was nooooo tude! I will definitely be back to Roni for my shoulder cover up. Two thumbs up and 5 star service!!!

Great service, very busy place but they squeeze you in where they can. I got a great colored sunset tattoo. It was my first color and I was very happy with it. I will be going back to this place to finish out my half sleeve. Very friendly staff.

I went for a consultation for a cover up. I met with Roni and told her I wanted my old kanji covered up with something a little more meaningful. With in days she had an amazing tattoo that she drew up for me and a few weeks later I went in and had my work done. I still can't believe all the fine details she did on this piece.. I can't stop looking at it. I'm proud to call it mine. Roni went above and beyond and I will most certainly go back to see her.

Hidden Hand just started piercing! Yay! I have been wanting my nose pierced for six years. I knew that David was going to get this started at HH, so waited for him to do my piercing. Knowing that he had been doing it for years. I, also had heard that he was an amazing piercer and he is :) He prepped me with information on what to expect and also in all the details of caring for it. Following with written home care which really helped. I had an amazing, painless experience with him and have had absolutely no problems, no swelling, no pain, no soreness. It has been a week and a half and I know the healing is up to two months but I feel like I have had this for six years. So impressive. He is very professional and kind... on to the next:) Thank you HH and David!

I paid a $40 deposit for Roni to draw a sketch from a supporters logo and my last name and the flag, for a tattoo. I gave her one print out of the logo and my last name (font and all) and another picture for the tribal which would be around it. The sketch Roni drew was very good, but it didn't have those in the order I requested. Still, it was very well done and I praised it.
I asked that she draw the rest of what the tribal would be like, since this is a half-sleeve, but she expressed missunderstanding and confusion. I tried to clarify this by providing pictures of the tribal's style and dimensions, to no avail. I canceled the next appointments which had been previously scheduled and did not request a refund (even though she didn't do what I wanted, she did do some work drawing.)
They got my $40 but I'm going somewhere else, I have a budget of $2,000 for my 2 half sleeves, which will now go to some other tattoo shop. I emailed the owner, Jeff C and didn't get a reply.

Ashley is fantastic! She was recommended to me by a few mutual friends and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. I took her my ideas and she told me whet would work best artistically and make sense visually. She was thoughtful, extremely friendly and always made sure I was doing tine throughout. I left satisfied and it wgora great price for the tattoo. I left wanting to book another spot with her!

Really clean environment, plays good music and the "receptionist " is an absolute delight as well! Would totally recommend Ashley to anyone

I recently went here for my first tattoo ever! It's literally in a back alley, tucked away behind by a little tea stand. I got paired up with Mike Tidwell and had a very short consultation where I just handed him my art inspiration and then made an appointment for a week and a half later.

When I came back for my actual appointment I was so nervous and excited! I waited about 15 minutes while Mike perfected the stencil with a couple tweaks I wanted, and then it was off to the tattoo! I expected it to hurt, I got it on my foot where allll the bones are, and it definitely did hurt a lot. Mike was pretty quiet during the tattoo session but he made sure I was OK to keep going since it was my first time (which I appreciated).

I am so in love with the finished product! I can't stop staring at it and even though it was painful, it was worth it. Thanks a ton Mike, you did amazing!

I've been getting tattooed by Jeff for a over a decade now and am proud to say so. The shop that he and April, Jeff's spouse and also a fantastic tattoo artist, have built is a great space to tattoo and be tattooed. You can feel the energy in the space and you know that there is serious creative work happening. Hidden Hand has a group of artists that is unparalleled at any other shop in Seattle, the NW. I would highly recommend any of the artists. The best thing to do is go into the shop, look at the portfolios, talk to a few people and you'll know. You just can't go wrong.

Dearest Ashley,

You light up my life. Besides the fact that you are an INCREDIBLE tattoo artist, you are also a good person. A funny, sincere, beautiful, and loving person. You work with people to give them exactly what they want and make everyone feel special.

I truly appreciate that. I think your clients do too considering you are booked for months. I will get every tattoo by you from here on out. Until your hands fall off.

Best,
Me

This place is pretty great. Erika is the best tattoo artist I've ever worked with, not that I've worked with that many. I absolutely trust her with putting something permanent on my skin.
The place is tucked away but it's very nice. Customer service has been fantastic.
There are many talented artists here but if you want Erika to do your tattoo make appointments early, she gets booked up months in advance.

Hidden Hand is a great shop with great decor and personality. Every person I interacted with was super nice and professional, and Erika Jones did an amazing job on my tattoo.

Because this isn't the kind of place that specializes in walk-in banger tattoos, the scheduling process can take a while. From the time I made the first call to the time my tattoo was done was about 2 months. This included my initial meeting with Erika to discuss the design, an art consultation to see what she had come up with, and the actual tattoo appointment. Sure, it would have been nice if it were a little quicker, but I was willing to wait because Erika's work was so good and I really liked the shop.

The artists here are a little on the expensive side, again because they're artists and not just churning out bland flash copies. But I think if you're going to have something forever marked on your body, it's worth paying extra to make sure it's the best.

Now my tattoo is healing, it looks terrific, and I may return to get more work done sooner than I expected. And I'll be recommending Erika and the other artists at Hidden Hand to my friends.

I just got a tattoo here yesterday because I saw the awesome reviews on Yelp, and I am so happy with my decision, so thanks Yelpers :) This is a clean, classy and cool shop, and everyone there was extremely friendly. Jeff was my tattoo artist and he was incredibly down to earth, helpful, professional and skilled. This was my first tattoo on my arms, and it just didn't hurt at all. At no point during the tattoo session did I feel uncomfortable, and it was just an absolutely wonderful experience. He gave great recommendations for my tattoo, and I totally trusted his judgement and just let him do what he thought looked right. Jeff is the shop owner it turns out, and not only is he an amazing tattoo artist, he is also a really cool guy, and an amazing conversationalist and all around cool dude. He gave my brother so much great advice on where to move, where to look for jobs, and even where we could grab a good lunch. We ended up finding my brother the perfect place that day, in the neighborhood where Jeff lives. I really cannot recommend Hidden Hand Tattoo enough, in fact when I visit my brother in a few months, maybe I'll stop by for another tattoo and make it my Seattle tradition :)

My good friend Tucker and I decided to take a road trip from our home in Los Angeles all the way to Seattle and back. My father had passed away just months earlier and his illness (brain cancer) inspired me to become a certified Reiki practitioner. Reiki is a form of hands on energy healing. I have always had a fascination with Egyptian mythology and after years of contemplating a great Egyptian tattoo concept, I decided to get the Eye of Thoth (on my left wrist) and The Eye of Ra (on my right wrist) to symbolize masculine, giving energy...and receptive feminine energy.

I did some research and thanks (again) to http://yelp.com, I found Hidden Hand Tattoo. I did a bit more research and decided that Jeff Cornell would be the perfect artist for the job.

When we arrived in Seattle it was a stereotypically dark and dreary day. We arrived at Hidden Hand just a bit early for my appointment and the receptionist was so welcoming and really made me feel comfortable. Jeff was amazing...I had given him an image of what I wanted, which was black and grey, and asked him to throw in some color. I requested that the eye on my right wrist be brown to represent my father's eyes (my masculine side)...and blue on my left wrist, for my mother. His work was precise, his lines were clean, and his use of color in such a small space blew my mind. He totally exceeded my expectations for a tattoo I'd be looking forward to for years.

Jeff is an amazing artist, and a friendly guy. His work was very gentle and I was never in much pain. He made me very comfortable. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone in the area looking for a great piece of art. AND, it's very affordable. The neighborhood in general is pretty cute so I'm sure that finding a bit to eat before hand would be a breeze. We only spent 2-3 days in Seattle so hopefully someday I can go back and explore the city a bit more...and get some more ink!

Thank you Jeff, the tattoos you gave me have given me a sense of protection, confidence and spirituality that I did not possess before I got them.

P.S. On our way back to LA, I realized that I'd forgotten the original artwork at the shop. I called the shop to let them know and they were kind enough to put it in the mail for me right away...it was waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home. :D

Jeff Cornell, the shop owner, is the BEST. He does amazing, quality work and is a great guy to have digging at you with a needle for an extended period of time. His style is unique and he is very technically proficient.

I have a very large side piece done by Jeff. I brought him an idea with a few reference photos and left a moderate deposit for his time spent drawing (when the tattoo is completed, the deposit is applied to the price of the tattoo). We scheduled an appointment for the first session and Jeff texted me a drawing a few weeks later - it was fantastic and better than I could have imagined myself. It took around 3 months for the piece to be completed over the course of 4 sessions.

Jeff's hourly rate is reasonable - do you really want a budget tattoo? (The answer to this question is NO, in case you were wondering.) Save up and get it done right.

The shop is clean, everyone is friendly and talented, and it's a family run affair - one that you should definitely be supporting with your business. if you're looking for a place to get a tattoo in Seattle, do it here.

I got tatted today by Ash and let me tell you it was awesome! I have had two other tattoos done at other places (in Oregon, actually) and those places were good but this place was awesome. I actually didn't realize how hard my tat was until Ash actually started inking me. I had a compass rose done and there were A LOT of straight lines. As nervous as I was watching her, she had a steady hand and did awesome. Not to mention but it was also at the Seattle tattoo expo and there were people and even a camera on her so the pressure was on! In the end, I got the tattoo I wanted, even better than I wanted, for a great price and I can't recommend the shop or the artist more. Thanks guys!

I paid a $40 deposit for Roni to draw a sketch of a mermaid tattoo. I gave her one picture for the face and another picture for the body. The sketch Roni drew had the body position of the picture that was to be used for the face only!

I asked that she keep the basic features of the face, but make minor changes in expression and position. The face was supposed to be drawn with a half smile while the original picture had a pout. Roni drew curves on the edges of pouting lips! Her sketch of the face was glaringly asymmetrical. For example, one eye is higher than the other. I uploaded the picture.

I sent her an email complimenting what she did, but asking her to start over because she drew the wrong body. She emailed back saying for me to take what she drew and go elsewhere. I asked for my deposit back because she didn't follow instructions. She refused. I tried to compromise, asking that she draw just the main lines of the right body and leave out the detail; she refused. I tried negotiating a partial refund; she refused. I tried talking to the owner, Jeff C. He was not willing to consider my position at all. He said that he heard my consultation with Roni and that my instructions were excessive and unrealistic. Then why did they take the job?!

I chose Roni because I liked 2 pictures in her portfolio. I later saw one of these pictures in a portfolio at another tattoo shop! So she had just traced a commonly-used picture. She can't draw an attractive face or figure unless she's copying another picture exactly. To be fair, I overestimated her ability based on the pictures I liked in her portfolio and had higher expectations than she could meet. I was looking for fine-art quality portrait drawing. She wasn't very welcoming or interested in my ideas in the consultation, but when I suggested that I should go somewhere else, she insisted she would do what I asked for. When I tried to reach a compromise afterward, she was very rude. The customer's always wrong when there's a disagreement at Hidden Hand.

One of my friend was telling me about hidden hand.. And I only want to get it done by the best of the best because I had really bad tattoos that had force me to ignore its existence... I was determined to get them fixed. Jeff was amazing, I was filled with excitement when I saw the sketch of the owl..He was a very GENTLE MAN, I did not feel pain until the last hour... (my tattoo was four hours) I've been to hidden hand twice and the outcome has been remarkable. I have people at the gym asking me to write down the name of the shop, or just telling me how amazing my tattoos are.

I highly recommend hidden hand!

i will be coming back here forsure!

I've been looking for a place to do my tattoo in the PNW for quite some time now. After meeting people up here with work done at various shops, I wasn't that impressed with the work. Stumbled upon this place on accident and soooo glad I did. I checked out their website, read some reviews and decided to head over and book an appointment.

First off, the place is nice. The decor is right up my alley. Very nicely done and the lady at the front desk was very nice. I booked an appointment for the following Saturday with Charlie.

Charlie is awesome. She's very nice and did a fkn awesome job on my tattoo. She actually recommended moving the stencil over a tad so it would fit better. How nice of her. I was happy with where it was, but she's the artist so I happily obliged. She was done in an hour and the work is outstanding. I will definitely be coming back here for all of my future tattoos.

They are very professional and accomodating. I heard they were expensive, but you get what you pay for. Actually, I was expecting to pay much more, but was shocked it was so cheap. So if you want quality work and a nice atmosphere, check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

What an awesome place!

Based on reviews here, I decided to look into Ash's portfolio, and she had done some work similar to what I wanted, so I emailed her to do some custom design work. She was very friendly and quick to respond, which I appreciated.

Walking in to the shop, everyone was very nice--no attitudes here! I showed Ash a few pictures of ideas I had, and she asked me lots of good questions that I never would have thought of. She is very knowledgeable!

A week later she had a sketch for me, which I LOVED, and a week after that I had my incredible new foot tattoo, which I get compliments on pretty much every day. I posted a photo, fyi.

Overall the shop is a little pricier than other places (around $250 for 2 hours of work), but when it comes to forever, quality is what matters! I have recommended HH to friends, and will absolutely be back!

I commemorated the completion of my doctoral exams (18 months late, but whatever) with a tattoo by Roni.

Because I'm full of all sorts of luck I had to reschedule my appointment 2x. Damn you El Nina and your snow and madness.

Anyways, I ended up picking Roni after looking at many many portfolios online. She clearly had some natural artistic talent and amazing attention to detail. She designed my lotus tattoo after our consultation ($40 which goes to the cost of your tatt). I had some images and some description of what I was after and what she came up with was exactly what I wanted. Like she read my mind.

She was really nice and patient and works fast. That's important because, I don't want to say it hurts but... it's not exactly a massage. I'll post a pic of my tatt.

This place is professional, attitude-free, and full of very talented folks. If you're wondering, my tatt was $165. They have an hourly rate and a deposit for your consultation/design. They are very very fair. Oh and get the tatt salve they sell for $8. It's lovely stuff.

Can't say enough, go check out the portfolios they have in the waiting area, your mind will be blown.

I was in town visiting my best friend and we decided to commemorate some huge life changes with tattoos (my 25th birthday, her mom and my aunt surviving breast cancer, our 10th year of friendship). We both wanted the breast cancer symbol but personalized.

Britt did an excellent job. I came in and he sketched out a few designs and totally encompassed what I wanted in his drawings. The other artists did an awesome job on my best friend as well. We couldn't be happier with our tattoos!

Hidden Hand is clean and has amazing artists! Will come back soon!

I had wanted to get a tattoo for the longest time, but kept telling myself I'd get over the phase. Well guess what? After 10 plus years the phase never left. I had an idea of what I wanted; to incorporate a chain of plumerias, with each flower representing a member of my family (of 8) and have this go along my side from hip to ribs. There was just one problem: I couldn't draw worth crap. So for some time now I had been collecting pictures of things I liked & things I didn't like. Now I didn't want just any artist to do my tatt. I am super picky & since this was going to be my first tat & it was going to be huge first tatt, I wanted to make sure I got someone who had a good reputation, great portfolio & lots of patience. I shopped around for an artist in the Seattle area & met with a few artists, but they didn't have quite the style I was looking for. Finally I came across Britt with Hidden Hand in Fremont. After seeing his work & especially of a blooming cherry blossom along a girl's side I was sold.

I made an appointment at Hidden Hand to meet Britt. Hidden Hand is actually located in an alley & through a set of double glass doors so you have to kind of have to look around for it if you've never been there before. The shop itself is decorated with all sorts of artwork & art pieces. There was a cool-looking lobby area with each artist's work. The shop is open, yet each artist had their work area. I showed Britt my pictures I've been collecting & he didn't make my feel stupid when I said I didn't know what I wanted exactly. Britt said he would work with my ideas & come up with something that I will like. And if I didn't like his first sketch he'd keep trying. Awesome. A few weeks later I stop by the shop to take a look at the sketch. It is almost perfect. I chickened out & I decided I wanted to move the tatt more to my back side rather than along the ribs. So we make a few tweaks here & there so that the chain of flowers would fit better along my side & back, but overall I was stoked about the sketch. I made my first appointment & brought a little posse for moral support. I can tolerate pain, but hot damn! taking that needle over my ribs & side was no fun. My first session, to get the outline & shading, lasted almost 3 hours. Every time I heard the buzz of the gun my back muscles would immediately tense up. But Britt was patient & took breaks whenever it got really bad. I left my first sessions with a set of instructions from Britt & healed quite nicely within a few weeks.

My 2nd session to get the flowers colored in lasted about 4 hours. Trying to get the exact shade I wanted was a little difficult. I wanted a deep, yet bright, fuchsia that would gradually fade into a light or skin tone in the center. Britt played with a couple colors & came close. I thought I'd be smart & use H2Ocean on my tatt, reading somewhere that this stuff helped maintain color in the healing process. Huge Mistake. I should have stuck with Britt's suggestions & went with the Aquaphor. My flowers became 3-D with chicken pox-like bumps. I was devastated. It got so bad that I had to go see a dermatologist. She put me on some steroids to calm the rash down. It took almost 3 months for the rash to finally go away, but my skin was back to normal. I threw out the other 2 bottles of H2Ocean. My 3rd session was to get the leaves filled in. You think you'd get used to the pain by the 3rd go around but nope, just as painful. I was able to not sweat as much this time :D Again, Britt was really patient & joked around with my friends & me during the session. This time I stuck to his advice & used the Aquaphor. My tatt healed fine with no outbreaks this time.

I waited for about 6 months until I decided to go back to Britt for a touch-up. I really liked the look of fresh ink, but the flowers had healed to a faded look. I didn't like that the tatt already looked old even though it was a few months old, even after moisturizing everyday & keeping it out of the sun. I felt bad calling Britt back after that long for a touch up, but he was really cool about it & again was patient about trying to help me get the right color on the flowers. I am waiting for this to heal as I type & I hope it's the last time, but it's nice to know I can go back to Britt anytime if I am not completely happy with it.

I really appreciate how patient Britt was during my first tatt experience & how he wanted to make sure you were happy with his work. He is a good listener with great suggestions. He doesn't charge you for doing an initial sketch, which I always thought was a rip. He is easy-going & doesn't try to push one style of tattooing on you, like I've experienced with some other artists in the area. Britt is an amazing artist & would recommend him to any of my friends, especially if you are getting one for the first time :D

I went to see Ash for my first tattoo. Everything about my service here rocked. Their website, the prompt phone calls and emails. I walked into the shop and it was clean, classy, but still had edge. I felt so comfortable. Ash was confident, fun, and completely supportive- she kept it really easy for me. All I had to worry about was breathing. She listened to what I wanted, gave me options, and then delivered. What more can I say? I'm totally happy and Ash Wednesday rocks!!

Charlie Grrl is amazing. I came in with a vague idea of what I wanted and she created the most beautiful sketch. She got it done in an hour and did an awesome job. I love it. I also loved the feel and decor of the parlor. I have heard wonderful things from my friends about the other artist too. I would highly recommend Hidden Hand.

i went to ash wednesday to get two wrist tattoos recently & had a fantastic experience. when i called to schedule my consult, the person i spoke with on the phone was informative & nice. when i came in for my consult, i was impressed by hidden hand's space--clean, funky, relaxed. ash is super friendly & put me at ease right away. she takes time to listen, answers questions, no matter how silly...she lacks any attitude. i had simple font-work done but ash was more than happy to touch-up a few weeks later & on my second visit. i was urged to call back if it wasn't perfect--bc my tats are on my wrist, i'm constantly evaluating...the touchups were minor, a line here, there. i would definitely recommend ash wednesday at hidden hand...she's friendly, meticulous, informative, creative...she rocks!

Just got my first tattoo from Ash ay Hidden Hand. What a great experience and a great shop. Ash was able to take my photos and idea and put together a great piece of art. The shop is a great place and the artists are all easy to talk to.

Roni at Hidden Hand Tattoo has got to be, by far, my favorite tattoo artisit I have been to! She was amazing at transforming a cartoon drawing my husband gave me into a forever art piece on my skin. I am already thinking of a cover up for her to do next. She was patient, funny and did amazing work! All the artists there seem to have this cool vibe & the shop is cute as well! GO THERE FOR YOUR NEXT TATTOO!!!

From consultation to bandage, Roni was amazing. She took a vague idea I had about some cherries and turned it into the exact tattoo I wanted! It's a cherry branch with blossoms and 2 rainier cherries on my back right shoulder.

Also, she made me feel very comfortable her in chair. It was my first tattoo experience and instead of being weird or snobby about it, when it was all over she gave me a big hug and said "welcome to the club!" She's super quick too, which is nice for those of us with a low tolerance for pain :).

I will go back to Roni when I get another tattoo for sure. She has art for sale in her corner of the shop and some of it is really, really amazing. She has the artistic skills, the people skills and the technical skills necessary to be a truly great tattoo artist and is a really kickass person to boot!

I decided to commemorate my first visit to Seattle by getting a little ink done. My girl susie and i stumbled into this place, left, and came back 20 min later ready to roll. We both were struck by ash's book. Her stuff looked feminine and precise. The tattoo gods smiled upon once when we found out she was working and available to do my little silhouette birds. I told her my idea and like within ten min she had an amazing sketch that i was really impressed with and we were good to go. It was a pretty small tattoo and so it look about 20 min, after i was done and we were 10 feet out the door my travailing companion stopped and decided that ash had done such a good job on mine she wanted to get one done too.

about 4 hours after initially walking into the shop we left, both a little sore, but VERY VERY happy. Susie got an amazing chandelier on her forearm. like words cannot describe the precise and perfect line-work that ash dished out for this chandelier. not going to lie, i totally got out-shined in the tat department. its just that beautiful.

so here is the problem. i am going to need ash to do all my tattoos from now on, seeing as i live in LA, this expensive habit i have just got a whole lot more expensive now that airfare is going to be involved. whatever, i will find a way, and i will def be back in seattle within the year to get my next one. i love this shop and i love ash wednesday and her work!

After a recommendation for a friend and a look at her profile, I booked an appt with Roni at Hidden Hand. I had the design drawn out myself, and she took it and made it a bazillion times more fabulous. The end product was better than I pictured it, and I am so happy with it. She doesn't seem to be a smoker so there aren't a lot of breaks, she just likes to power through it, same as me. She was fun to chat with too and just an overall cool person. She took the time to make sure the design was exactly how I wanted it, which included re-doing the stencil position on my back 5 times before it was how I liked it. The shop itself is very professional and has a nice, fun, non-snobby atmosphere. The receptionists were always friendly and accommodating, no attitude. If I decide to get more ink, Roni is my girl. Highly recommended.

First tattoo, I loved the result, but I think that it might be a little overpriced.

Roni is a righteous babe and a kickass tattooist. She's also sporting some seriously cool pieces I've ever seen on someone before (she has the promo scene of the JAWS movie - shark under the girl, JAWS in big red letters). She also very easy to chat with and sitting in her chair was calm and comfortable.

Roni gave me a phenomenal piece on my lower, inner right arm. A triple moon goddess symbol looking like old rocks all chipped up and broken in spots. The background for the symbol is a peacock feather. Can I just say, HOT!

Ashley works the counter and has started tattooing a couple days a week. She rocks the stars too and I'm seriously impressed with her artistry skills. Be sure to check out her pencil drawings of all the artists on the wall behind you when you enter the place.

Tattoos. A badass way to express yourself and who you are. And there's no better Place to go then Hidden Hand Tattoo in Fremont, Center of the Universe. My twin sister and I were tattoo Beginners and what a blessing it was to find Hidden Hand. Greeted with a wonderful fung shui(ed) atmosphere, squeaky cleanliness, and 5 star service, Hidden Hand would make even the most timid tattoo hopeful, feel welcome and comforted. They are very prompt to schedule appointments and answer any of your questions as well as displaying all the artist portfolios in the foyer. The tattoo process itself was a breeze. All the tattooists are gentle, keep conversation during the tattooing itself (maybe to distract from the pain... helped me bunches!), and keep your best interest in mind. Having a needle dug in your skin isn't very pleasant, but my experience at Hidden Hand Tattoo sure was!! I always recommened Hidden Hand Tattoo to my friends and my twin and I are now customers for life. The countless compliments on our ink speaks for itself.

I came to the Hidden Hand after a day spent in Georgetown, admiring the fields of ink displayed on forearms, shoulders, and chests. I was due for another tattoo, and the urge to get one was simultaneously itchy and tingly....the back of my left arm, above my elbow, was screaming to be relieved.

My friend is an apprentice at this shop, and she hooked me up with an artist (Lindsey) immediately, who worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. Not too much pain, a fair price, and a beautiful tattoo that I get compliments on all the time....what more could you ask for?

Great artists, sterile and high quality work. Find it next to Deluxe Junk and check out their talent: Jeff Cornell, Lindsey Johnson, Britt Orr, Ashley Dorr and Miss Mamagatita - April Cornell, plus others.

Highly recommended.
