AWESOME! Was in town for a festival with a close friend and we decided to get inked. Saw the reviews here on Yelp and decided to walk-in. BEST. DECISION. EVER. Orlando and his wife are wonderful people! And fun! The shop was spacious, clean, and had very good vibes. Orlando's professionalism and skill are one of the most genuine I've come across. Couldn't be anymore satisfied with my new piece and glad he was way cool enough to squeeze us in his schedule. Definitely coming back for more! Don't pay attention to the negative reviews, that's foolish, go in for yourself and leave with a smile on your face.

Â I gave my husband the gift of ink for Father's Day this year and while we considered other shops we saw some of Orlando's work here on yelp and decided to go in for a look at the shop. Â It's super clean with a great vibe so after checking out his book of work my husband gave him his ideas and put down a deposit for a sitting the following week. Â When we got there the shop had a few other patrons milling about and everyone was having a great time and loving their finished work. Â I think getting tattoo'd is more than just the end result, it's about the experience and between the shop's vibe, the humor of Orlando and the other crew members, and the overall look and feel of the shop Iron Crown really came through on that end. Â Now to the tattoo...I am by nature a very critical person, I'll admit it...but I can not find any flaws with the the impeccable line work Orlando did. Â My husband and I were both really blown away, not only is every line perfection and exactly what he wanted but Orlando moves fast without sacrificing quality or experience. Â We have found our go to for ink from here on out, it's Orlando and the Iron Crown all the way. Â The other artists were hanging out and one was tattooing another person while we were there and it was nice to have them engage us as well, you get a really friendly fun vibe, not like other shops where artists seem to clash. Â We couldn't be happier with the outline and can't wait to go in and have the shading done...Then it's my turn :)
Review Source:I don't think 5 stars is enough. Orlando is amazing, hands down. I went in for my fourth tattoo, and I had heard a lot about him so I wanted to give him a shot. I went in to set up an appointment and gave him my artwork, and came back a week later. It was a really intense, dark image that was going to take a lot of ink and a lot of work. He knocked it out like a boss, and it's seriously the best tattoo I've ever seen in my life. (Perhaps there's some bias there, but still, it's amazing.) He deserves any business that comes his way, and if he's too busy Cody's awesome too!!! He did my friend's tattoo while Orlando was busy with mine, and I've been tattooed from him before as well, and both of them are such amazing artists. Screw every other tattoo shop in Monterey, you want something good come here.
Review Source:I liked this joint. We came in right before closing and talked to them about what we were looking for and they were more than willing to work with it when others had reservations about size. Since it was late and we had our toddler we decided to come back the next day and set an appointment. Â When we came in the next the day they guy who was supposed to do the work was GONE for the day (losing points here). After giving him a call he came in in less than 15 so I wasn't too disappointed.
Considering that we had hit up 3 different shops in the area, these folks were by far the friendliest and professional.
Iron Crown tattoo is the greatest shop around, hands down. I got tattooed by Cody when he used to be at Creative Visions and he migrated to Iron Crown and even though my artist hasn't changed, I gotta say, the general environment of Iron Crown is super comfortable (not to put the other shop on blast), yet the owner's Orlando and Natalie are still super professional, even with ridiculous requests. I feel at ease getting a tattoo there because the staff creates a non-judgmental environment and the shop itself is clean. All my friends even go there, my fiancée included, and every one of us are satisfied, and we have been inked by all the artists that work there. Don't take my word for it though.

I've had quite a few tattoos done at Iron Crown with Orlando. Â He's an artist. Â His lines are clean and he's quick and detailed with his outlines. Â His shading is impeccable. Not only on my tattoos but also on some portait tattoos I've seen him finish. Â Orlando has the ability to take a concept you have in your mind and put it down on paper before inking. Â I've seen him take an idea a client brought in and in a few days draw an awesome version of what the client wanted. Â I've even explained what I've wanted and the end product surpassed what I expected. Â
If you want a cheap "point to a picture on the wall" tattoo shop, this isn't the place for you. Â You get what you pay for with tattoos. Â World famous tattoo artists are booked months in advance, so that fact an artist as good as Orlando is able to get you in to the shop within days to weeks is above par. Â
This shop is very clean as well. Â When you're dealing with tattoos that's a huge deal. I can't even count how many times Orlando has cleaned his work station and changed gloves just in one session. Â
The work speaks for itself. Â I've never heard of anyone getting an Orlando/Iron Crown tattoo reworked or redone. Â He does it right the first time. Â Don't take my word for it. Ask around and see the work for yourself.
Orlando was awesome! Â Did a big piece for me and my boyfriend and was completely professional. Even though this was my fifth tattoo I still have real high anxiety about needles. Orlando was really sensitive and cool with all my whining. He also drew up our tattoos from some pretty poor drawings and discriptions from us and freaking nailed it! Â I saw some work by the other artist while we were there and they do some really good work too

Previous shop would not do any hand/neck tattoos unless there is a serious work already established. Understandable, but I felt SOL. I was then recommended to this place.
Jose was my artist and he was very friendly. I was not completely sure of what I envisioned my tattoo to be, but he was able to articulate it and nailed it right on the head. Definitely exceeded my expectations.
I would definitely return and seek out Jose again for a more serious piece. Tiny shop. Extremely clean.
Jose Carranza did an amazing job on my Tattoo. He is a very talented artist. He makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. A refreshing change from past coastal town arrogant tattoo shop experiences. Â The tattoo far exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back for more. Â Bottom line, these guys do top notch work for a reasonable fee.
Review Source:Just a few weeks ago, my husband and I walked-in to Iron Crown Tattoo off the street for a consolation after unsuccessful visits with other local tattoo studios. My husband was looking to get his first tattoo ever in remembrance of his mother who just recently passed away. Orlando was not only welcoming, charismatic and incredibly professional in servicing us as walk-ins in his shop, but also gave expert suggestions to make my husband's tattoo one-of-a-kind. Knowing the sensitivity of the subject matter, Orlando took the time to craft a custom design and we were blown away by the sketch. As a first timer, Orlando was very attentive and did his best to make my husband feel as comfortable as possible (within reason). At this point, only the outline of the piece is completed, but we could not be more happy with the results thus far and are anxious to go back and finish. It is my personal opinion that Orlando has given my husband and I a gift that goes far beyond what money can buy.
