I have always heard such good things about this business. I have never been here before, until today. I was in a panic because a new septum ring I bought online was way too tight and it was causing a lot of pain. I emailed them, got a VERY quick, friendly response letting me know that I could stop by anytime before 9pm and they could save me. I walked right in, introduced myself and she remembered my personal situation. She took me back and I laid down and in no time I was out the door with a smile on my face and a little notch in my nose from my old septum ring. Thank you SO much Kristin, your help was very much appreciated! I'd recommend her to anyone who wants a lovely, genuine, professional piercer.

Actually just left this place. Made an appointment weeks in advance for a Saturday (today the 28th). Walked in on time for our appointment. Was told that our appointment was last week. That was completely untrue.  We specifically made this appointment on a day in which we had a sitter.  Last Saturday I was working. I would not have made the appointment then. After the original scheduling appointment. I emailed the artist with the designs.  Stated clearly the date and time of the appointment in the email.

The woman behind the counter would hear nothing of this. Although when asked to provide the appointment slip, she could not locate it. Then she proceeds to tell me that we can make another appointment and put another $80 deposit down. Because we had lost our first deposit. She then looked through some papers and we frustratingly said "well clearly signals were mixed, our deposit should not be lost". I offered to show her the email. She acted disinterested.  So. Needless to say. Our business is going elsewhere.  And after having a tattoo and piercing done here prior, we are upset at the loss. However, customer service?  They have none. Have fun spending our 80 bucks for your mistake.

I got 2 forward helix piercings done somewhere else and they ended up getting EXTREMELY swollen and closing over the top. I called Metamorphosis for help and they were great! I picked out new, longer jewelry and they were able to take the old out and put in the new, all I had to buy was the jewelry! If I want another piercing down the road, I will be coming here :)

I went there today for a forward helix piercing. It has been awhile since my last piercing, and I was terribly nervous! Kristin was AMAZING. She talked me through the whole thing, keeping me calm. She promised it would hurt no more than pulling a piece of hair, and she was 100% right! She rocked! The place was very clean & well lit. I really enjoyed that I was in my own little room to get the piercing done as well. Great place and will def. be going back for my 2nd and 3rd!

I have had several piercings and a tattoo from here. The piercers are amazing and put me completely at ease whenever I get them! My tattoo was about twice as much as it would have been at any other place but it was well worth it. I opted to get a tattoo at another shop to save money. I do like my other tattoos but not even being 5 months they need to be touched up. I will for sure go to metamorphosis for the rest of my tattoos!!!

I went there to get my ears re-pierced.  It had been 30 years since my last piercing and I wanted to try it again.  My how the standards have improved.  This place is very meticulous about being sterile and sanitary.  I liked the person who pierced my ears.  He offered such excellent advice on how to care for my lobes afterwards.  Really took his time in answering all my questions before the procedure.  Was careful at marking the spot on each ear and asking for my approval.  He had such a calm and caring manner.  He asked me to breathe deeply and let it out to calm me just before the piercing.  It hurt some, but I was so confident in him.  I have soaked my ears in the warm salt water that they recommended and cleaned with the antibacterial hand soap and it has made the healing so much better than the first time I had it done in a mall with a gun (which I now know was no where near possible to be sterile).  It was a little pricey but I know I will be successful in getting my ears healed and able to continue to use earrings in them as I should have been able the first time years ago.  Customers I saw leaving were very satisfied with their work, as am I.

This place is great. I have gotten both of my tattoos here and even though I was such a newbie the first time, the artist was so patient and nice about it. I always feel comfortable asking questions and they take the time to get what you really want, all without any judgment.

I've had a piercing and a tattoo done here, and both times the experience was great.

I got my nose pierced in fall 2011. I went in without an appointment and was almost immediately taken to the back by the piercer (whose name I can't remember.) She was great. She told me what was going on at all times, and the whole thing took just a few minutes and was pretty pain-free.

I got my tattoo done by Jeff in early 2012. I consulted for a few minutes to make sure my design was ok (it was really simple but I was concerned about the circles in it.) I made an appointment and was taken back immediately upon arrival. He copied the design I brought and applied it to my skin, and made sure the placement was good, and then away we went. The actual tattoo didn't take long, didn't hurt much. It also didn't bleed at all and healed very nicely. It continues to look great after 6 months.

Overall, highly recommend this shop. It's clean, organized, and filled with talented people.

During the Super Bowl weekend here in Indy, I got a job and was asked to take out my nose ring.

Even though I did not get my nose pierced at Metamorphosis, the piercer was willing to change out my nose ring into a spacer for free, for the cost of the jewelry, which was a mere $8. It was quick, painless, and the piercer was so friendly and joked around with me while she was changing it.

They were very welcoming, and it was an overall pleasant experience. Now, if I could only muster up enough money to get a tattoo there, because I've heard nothing but awesome things about the tattooists in this shop.

I'm certainly not going to ruin Metamorphosis' great review run. I grew up in Indy and now live in DC, but spending the long weekend home and having been bored with my nose piercing for a while, I thought I'd pop into Metamorphosis to see if I could afford changing out my piercing better here in Indy than in the all-too-expensive nation's capital. Not only are the piercings significantly cheaper and changing it out doesn't cost anything (unlike in DC) I got the best customer service I could possibly hope for. I wish I remembered his name but a tall gentleman with a ponytail and glasses helped me out and was so genuinely nice and so helpful, I can't say nice enough things about him. I'm very indecisive and nobody got impatient with me while I tried to decide on a stud. Finally, everything was totally sanitary and super-clean, and believe me I'd know if it wasn't because it would set off my OCD.

No more over-priced DC tattoo/piercing parlors - its always going to be back to Metamorphosis for me from now on!

I have gotten three tattoos from Metamorphosis--one in 2001, one in 2003, and one in 2007.  The service I received was comparable in all three experiences.  Overall, I am very impressed with their work.  I doubt you'll ever find a shoddy artist at this shop.  It is an extremely professional experience from the time you walk in the door from the time you leave.  The shop is extremely clean and the artists/piercers are very careful to follow all health codes and regulations.  The service is timely and the staff is friendly.  The shop has been around for over a decade, and places like this are a dying breed in Broad Ripple. They seem to have survived the yuppie invasion!

My two major complaints about Metamorphosis are 1) the price, and 2) the amount of time you have to wait to get an appointment.  This is a very popular shop, and lots of people want their services.  For this reason, you may have to wait several weeks to get the tattoo of your dreams.  Still, sometimes the wait seems too long.  The price is outrageous!  It is probably 1.5 or twice as high as anywhere else.  However, in all fairness, you'll be very satisfied with their work.

I got my nose pierced at Metamorphosis for the first time two and half years ago, and then again last week. I got a severe flu and had to take my nose ring out to blow my nose. I injured the piercing site when trying to replace my nose jewelry and the hole closed up. Nothing to do with Metamorphosis' work.

The process and procedures that the piercer (the same person, a lovely woman whose name is escaping me right now...but she's fantastic!) uses are immaculately clean, quick, and quite painless. She'll ask you where you want your piercing, mark it with a pen, put a metal cylinder in your nostril, ask you to take a breath, and before you know it, she's pierced the hole and the jewelry is in.

The piercer will explain the aftercare thoroughly and send you away with sea salt, a cup, and instructions for taking care of your new piercing.

The piercing itself costs $25 (for the nose) and the jewelry comes in a wide range of styles, sizes, and prices (the selection is huge).

Overall, I am very happy to have such a great facility right here in Broad Ripple.

I have had all sorts of things done to all sorts of places on my body at Metamorphosis. The conch of my ear has been pierced and stretched, my lobes have been stretched, my tongue, eyebrow, and a couple of other piercings. Each time the service has been friendly, warm, comfortable and so far above par that I don't think the staff at Metamorphosis can even see par as they are looking down upon it from so far above.

I've had a couple of piercings I was unable to remove but needed out for an MRI and Paul was more than willing to remove them for me and then later replace them. I love metamorphosis. I can't really imagine going anywhere else for a piercing. Though initially I did! In my younger days I had gotten a few piercings from Artistic Skin Design and Skin Quake. I was actually initially referred to Metamorphosis by a piercer at Artistic when I wanted my conch pierced with an 8 gauge needle and they referred me to Metamorphosis because they themselves did not have the equipment to do it. I've been hooked ever since.

Metamorphosis also has the most awesome selection of jewelry ever. ever ever ever. go there.

My husband got a tattoo here when we first moved to Indy.  I have to say, I was REALLY surprised that they were so busy that they didn't take walkins.  THAT'S the sign of an amazing shop, IMO.

I don't think my husband remembers who his artist was, but I know that everyone we've spoken to has been knowlegable and pleasant.

I'll be heading to Metamorphosis when it's time for my next ink... which is probably soon!

I am from chicago where getting a piercing costs an arm and a leg due to city and local licensure and permits...

I came to visit a friend in Indy and researched a place to get my nose re-pierced.  I had never been to a piercing/tattoo business where it was so clean and the displays showcased a great variety of body jewelery and the prices were very very reasonable.  My experience was very positive and the nose jewelery I purchased was very good.   I paid $20 for a nose screw that was 14k gold.  Couldn't do that in Chicago!

What can I say about Metamorphosis, besides that I love it. I received my first tattoo here from Trevor, and have continued to travel back to Indianapolis (from Boston) when I'm in need of some amazing work. Not only is he a very, very talented artist, but he has a great personality (which is a definite perk if you plan on getting a piece that may require spending a good deal of time in the chair).

I also recommend this place highly for piercing. I've had both Kristin and Joe, and can say both are consummate professionals. They also carry an amazing selection of organic jewelry, with a much wider and varied selection than any of the shops around me now.

The shop is clean and the staff is friendly (and very knowledgeable), which is  why I have, and will continue, to visit Metamorphosis on those infrequent trips back to Indy.

Wow, I can't believe I am the first to review Metamorphosis, who woulda'  thunk it?

When I decided to get my first tattoo back in '04, everybody I asked - who had ink I liked - told me to go to Metamorphosis. Somebody specifically suggested I talk to Jeff, which I naturally did. That first time around, I knew what I wanted - basically - but not being an artist myself, was not sure how to create my design. No problem, as Jeff took the individual elements I brought him and turned them into a design that completely matched the vision in my head.

Two more tattoos later - all designed and executed by Jeff - I am thinking about how I can get another without upsetting hubby. Obviously I found out firsthand that the old cliche about tattoos carries some truth in it...once you get your first, you'll be hooked and want more. I may not be destined for a fourth piece of body art, but if I were, I would go back to Jeff @ Metamorphosis. He did a great job and really took the time to create something beautiful and personal for me with each of my tattoos.

BTW: I also had my nose pierced here and though I no longer have that due to job constraints, my experience with this was a-okay as well.
