I went to Mori Ink to get my tragus pierced. At first, I thought everything was great. Mori was really nice and the piercing itself didn't take long, even though she did not let me choose the type of jewelry I wanted, only the gage of a ring that was gun metal in color. Afterwards, she told me to use this stuff call Nu Tattoo on my piercing advised me not to do sea salt soaks. For anyone who gets piercings regularly, sea salt soaks are the number one anti-infection tool for piercings considering its gentle and completely natural. I went ahead and followed her advise, big mistake! Within two weeks of getting my piercing, I had a huge bump on both sides of the piercing site. After about a month of these bumps, I began doing sea salt soaks, which allowed the infection to break out (I'll spare you the details) but my ear began getting a sickly aching feeling. Finally, back home in Portland, I went to a local piercer, Adorn  West in Beaverton. After a strict regimen, Ben at Adorn (who's awesome) was able to switch the jewelry to a really cute black opal high-grade titanium stud. Upon doing this, it was discovered that Mori used a really cheap piece of metal jewelry and even bent it awkward within my ear, not only was the combination causing an infection and irritation, but it took major work with metal clamps to actually fight the ring out of my ear. Once that cheap ring was out, my ear felt instantly better. Do not go to Mori Ink for piercings, I don't know about her tattoo work, but jewelry is not her business.

I stayed in Ashland, OR for about 2 1/2 weeks for a shoemaking course, and during that time I met Mori of Mori Ink. This is a terrific place to get a tattoo. I have been to several shops and the atmosphere was not "hardcore."

Mori was featured in the local paper; that is how I learned about her. She is warm, friendly, professional, and affordable. I saw her twice, I got mirror image tattoos on my foot of an abstract shoe. When I return next summer, I will surely be seeing her again.
