Ive gotten my nose pierced here when i turn 18 (about 4-5 yrs) and ive known a bunch of other people who have gotten a piercing from here also and ive never or none of my friend have a complaint about it. The lady who did it was nice...im bad with needles but she was gentle enough that i barely felt the needle go thru i didnt even flinch. The place seems clean. Yes its alittle pricey but most well kept piercing places (usually the dirty ones r the cheapy ones) It never got infected or anything. Yes it was pierced with a hoop and i wanted a stud but they explained to me they pierce with a hoop because its easier to clean it during the healing process because you can twist it clean all of it verus a stud you cant really clean it good enough so they said i could change it when its healed which i did.
Review Source:When I was 17, I thought this place was the shit. Â Now I know better. Â
As stated by the reviewer below me, "Ron the Jeweler" can't do a lot of the more exotic piercings (surface, microdermal, etc.) and those that he DOES do, he will only pierce using RINGS! Yes, rings. Â As in hoops. Â What planet does this guy live on? Apparently one where hoops do not irritate fresh cartilage piercings by applying uneven pressure to the piercing site, thus frequently leading to hypertrophic scarring. Â Aside from his outlandish piercing practices (which he will gladly rant about to any willing or unwilling ear as the only correct way to pierce), he offers completely out-of-date aftercare instructions such as using orange Dial soap to clean your piercing (ugh, so drying and harsh) and rotating your jewelry while you clean it (the very best way to rip up the healing fistula).
If these tidbits weren't enough to turn you away, Ron's prices are also INSANE and he is a self-righteous douche. Â If you are looking for a great piercing, check out the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) certified piercers in Philadelphia. Â (Incase it weren't completely obvious already, Primal Urge is NOT APP-certified.)
