Lantz is the best Tattoo artist I have ever sat with. I have been getting tattoos from him for 14 years now. Intermittently I have gotten tattoos from other professionals because I am out of town or whatever and every time I have regretted it to the point of kicking myself. If I had to describe the way he works it would be quick, nimble, and light. Imagine a hand with little wings on it like achilles' feet. The prices are totally reasonable, especially for top quality work. Lantz is especially good at uncommon tattoos as well, and he never tries to talk me into other things like so many tattooists. I also appreciate being saved from all the usual tattoo shop chatter which makes me feel my hair grow.

I've gotten 2 tattoos from him, one small and simple and another larger, more intricate one which included a small cover up (the cover up is genius). Â I'm not an artist in the least, and both times I went in for my consultation with a few pictures of general ideas, then verbalized the rest - both times he emails me a sketch, and both times he perfectly grasped what I wanted. Â He doesn't try to shoe horn you into a style, each tattoo is completely unique and individual, an original creation just for you. Â I've already had a few friends get tattoos from him on my recommendation, and they all love the work he did for them as much as I love mine.
Bonus is he's a really cool dude and very easy to talk to.
Look, choosing a tattoo artist is essentially a lifetime commitment of displaying the talents of the artist you choose. Not to mention it's a bonus if the artist is a person you can have engaging conversation with while you submit to the needle for hours on end. Added bonus if that tattoo artist is certified in preventing blood born illnesses (I mean, they are using a needle, you will bleed, cleanliness is essential). Â If you ask me (which you are by reading this review) Lantz embodies all these qualities with style! I am covered on my entire arm and back with his exquisite art work. He tirelessly designed my concept and patiently worked and reworked the design to meet my persnickety needs. And he was meticulous about the placement of the stencil. Trust me, being in his shop and sitting in his chair for 8+ hours several times throughout the years it takes to complete intricate art work you get to know the person. He is a good person. He is extremely talented, knowledgable, and meticulous. He's the full package. Seriously, you don't get much better than Lantz. Seriously.

Â My wife and I both have tats from Lantz from a couple years ago and are in the middle of much larger tats with him. Â He's one of those tat artists that once you work with him, you'll only ever want to work with him. Â The new shop is clean, light and spacious. Â Such a difference from most shops in town.
