I got my helix pierced here about a month ago and it seemed fine in the beginning. I usually go to Nathan's in Canoga Park, but I decided to try Simi because I've heard good things. The girl was helpful and even helped me out when I bought a new opal for the earring. However, my ear continued to swell and puss as weeks passed, even though I consistently cleaned the piercing. My friend got her's pierced the same day, and weeks later she realized the front of her earring slid into her ear and became embedded in the skin. She went in and the main piercer replaced it with a larger bar. As I looked at mine, I realized the backing was also becoming embedded. I went in and asked him to check it out, and he wouldn't even look at it. He just told me to clean it. Scared that the piercing was getting worse every day, I had to pull it out because my skin was closing around it due to the lack of room for the earring to breathe and heal properly. I'm disappointed in the entire experience, as I have spent over 100 dollars on this piercing and earring, yet I wasn't even given the time or consideration I deserved as a customer when i returned with my concerns. I will not be returning or recommending to friends.
Review Source:I've been here several times and have had mixed experiences so that is the reasoning behind the lower review.
I first came here to get my ears pierced for a second time. I can't remember who did the piercing, but she was extremely good and took the time to make sure they were even. I give her 5 stars!
The second time I came here was to purchase a new nose ring since my old one had fallen out and gotten lost. Brandon helped me and I told him what I was looking for and explained to him I had purchased the previous one I had from them. It was a smaller gauge than is normally pierced with, but I don't like the bulky ones. He kept arguing saying he never carried those and told me that I shouldn't have such a small one. I'm not sure what happened to the customer is always right, but he definitely doesn't feel that way. I give him 1 star.
Don't come here if you are looking for something that isn't the "norm" for a piercing or if you don't already know what you want. I can't speak for the tattoo artists, but the piercers are hit and miss here. Do not come in when Brandon is working. He is rude and inconsiderate. Not the way to run a business.
I just got my belly button pierced today. I waited until Brandon was back from moving his family since I read so many great reviews about him. They were all accurate. He is extremely professional, very kind and calming. I would highly recommend him. Plus it didn't hurt at all and I thought it would. It's only been 9 hours since I had it done but there is still no pain.
Review Source:I just moved here from Texas and have been looking at getting more ink done. I stopped by their shop and was very impressed with how clean it was. Not your typical dingy shop. I started looking around and was approached by one of the owners who asked if I needed help. I showed him an idea I was looking at and getting some input on how we could make it work. He brought over the artist and he started to give his feedback and answered a lot of questions on detail, translation from picture to ink and pricing. He was able to help me with some design ideas and set the expectation for how long it would take. These guys do awesome work. Very helpful with design and flawless execution. Ask for Mike, he is a master at his craft. Will definitely be coming back for my half sleeve that Mike will work up the design for. Excellent value for true artistry.
Review Source:This shop is great.
A lot of people aren't into the fact that it is in Simi Valley. To me it doesn't matter, quality is quality. They only hire best of the best artists. it is hard to find this sort of quality anywhere else. i got my tattoo done here and they do free touch-ups.
the best part is that if you get five done you get one free!
I came here with to get my helix pierced in June 2012. I've been wanting this piercing ever since I was 10. After all the pain i've gone through (and am still going through) it's NOT worth it.
I came in, got my helix pierced. I experienced minimal pain when pierced, but Brandon kept tugging at my ear when he was trying to put in the earring and that stung like no other.
The first few days my piercing was perfectly fine; then the nightmare began. For the past 8 months my ear has not even gotten close to healing. I followed all instructions given to me, to no avail. I even trapped myself between pillows so I would not fall asleep on my left side. Â At least twice a week, my ear develops bloody and pus-y bubbles behind my ear which then pop throughout the week. GROSS. And then the weird thing is, a centimeter or two from my piercing site, i constantly develop scabs. I honestly believe something went wrong during the piercing process, because by now this should not be happening. I know it is not my body reacting to piercings because I got my tragus done 2 weeks ago at another shop, and it feels nearly healed.
I want to take out this HORRID piercing, but i'm scared it will close in on the infection and lead to greater problems. I regret getting this piercing, and honestly I would recommend another shop because getting my helix pierced here has made me fearful of getting any other piercing.
I feel bad though because the shop was clean and everyone there was so nice and the piercer, Brandon was so nice and informative throughout the whole process.
I went here today to get my tragus pierced. Brandon did a piercing for me about two years ago and I was really impressed with how professional and helpful he was back then so I was looking for him specifically for my next piercing. He uses the highest quality equipment that is all single use and disposable, and high quality and beautiful jewelry! He gives very thorough aftercare advice and talks you through every step of the piercing. He may look intimidating but hes super friendly, extremely professional and you can tell he really knows his craft! And the total price, including jewelry, is what I was quoted elsewhere for just the piercing! I was completely at ease with my piercer, I felt minimal pain, I got high quality jewelry at a great price, and I Love my new piercing! You want someone you can trust go to Brandon!
Review Source:I had been used to traveling down to the valley to get tattoos and piercings, and was hesitant to try anywhere new. But I couldn't help peeking in at Simi Valley Tattoos every time I passed it. Which is daily. For Black Friday they were having their 40 dollar tattoos done. My husband went and came back with a beautiful tattoo. Which made me jealous, haha. He said he loved the artist and the atmosphere and that they were very clean. So I went in myself. The same artist that did my husband's tattoo did mine. He was great, KC I believe was his name. He drew me up my designe quickly, and got the tattoo done very fast and it looks perfect! I was so extreemly pleased with everyone there, they were all so nice, and very knowlagable on the services they provide! Very impressed! I will be returning there very soon for a piercing or two, and more tattoos! Loved it! I don't think I'm ever going to go anywhere else.
Review Source:This place used to be High Class Tattoo, now its Similar Valley Tattoo. Â It looks small on the outside, but feels roomy inside. Â It's clean, which is a high priority for me. Â The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions. Â There is a lot of original art in the walls, it shows the talent level of the artists who work here. Â I go
t a memorial tattoo, and was very happy with it. Â Kc does awesome work!
I have no reservations about recommending Similar Valley Tattoo to anyone seeking quality tattoos!
I think this place is now HIGH CLASS TATTOO.
I had my bellybutton done at the original S.V. Tattoos for the first time when I was 16 with parental permission of course. One of the girls there did it freehand and I guess I didn't notice, but she left it crooked and so low, that the piercing was barely grabbing any skin. I couldn't get it redone again until I was 18 because my parents wouldn't take me again, so I just left it in. For the original S.V. I would give 1 STAR. I was so horribly disappointed. When i turned 18 I got it redone and somewhere else and now I have a small hole/scar where it used to be, that I hate.
I decided to give the new HIGH CLASS TATTOO another shot with my nose piercings and they did it perfectly! Cant complain. The staff was professional, nice and friendly. I came in kind of late, and they still took their time to ensure my piercing was perfect! I was really satisfied and happy with the cleanliness and the way that everything turned out! It was a little pricey here though, but well worth it. I will come back again for my industrial, and other piercings.
