Okay, so this place use to be monkeys to go. Â I've been coming here since I could remember, for my piercing needs and eventually my tattoo needs. Â Sean has done both of my tattoos, I was completely satisfied and the prices were great. Â Overall, I loved the place!
until one fateful day.
I decided I would like to get a Medusa piercing...
It was no longer monkeys to go, but I decided eh', I'll do it anyways. Â HUGE MISTAKE! Â first of all, medusa wasn't even on the list of things they did, which should have been a red flag perhaps. Â I asked the guy for a smaller stud than he was using, and he was like, "uh..." and kind of gave me some half ass excuse for why he had to use such a big stud.
anyhow, he cleaned my lip, clamped it and pierced it.  It hurt more than my Monroe, or most any piercing I've gotten til' this point  After which, he could not get the jewelry in.  He kept trying to force it in to my now open wound, and was visibly nervous.  After a few failed attempts, I finally lost my cool and told him to forget it, and left.
All I got from this trip was a free stab in the lip and a swollen pout for days. Â I understand that accidents happen, and i'm normally patient, but this guy didn't seem like he was an adequete guy for the job. Â Fail. Â Won't be coming back again.
*oops!****I posted this on the Monkeys To Go yelp page...so I moved it here!!!!
My friend and I wanted to get tattoos. My other friend wanted to pay for them as a Christmas present...we looking trying to decide where to go. This place, and Sean (one of the tattoo artists here) was recommended to us by someone who got all his tattoos done here. It's an awesome place. I got mine done by Sean and my friend got hers done by Chris. I love how my tattoo came out. And they were very attentive and listened to how we wanted our stuff to look. They're usually pretty booked though, I think. So make sure you make your appointment well in advance.
I've been pierced now 3 times by Chris (2 cartilage & 1 daith) and I've had a great experience every single time. The rooms are very clean, they have an excellent selection of jewelry, and Chris really took his time marking the placement and having me approve them. He's got a great sense of humor and really put me at ease since I was a little nervous the first time around. Getting pierced here will cost more than going to the mall but it is much cleaner and safer since they use sterilized materials and hollow needles. I want to get more piercings done and I am waiting until I am in town again to have it done since I like this place so much!
Review Source:I got my tongue pierced here a few days ago. The price was a lot less then a thought it would have been. Only 46.00 AFTER tax so I was happy about that. The big scary looking guy with tattoos IN his ears, named Christopher (not sure if he is the same guy who does the tattoos) is actually really nice. He tries to make you feel comfortable by playing with you.
He was very clean and was telling me (a virgin to piercings) exactly what to do. After he stabbed me,  i was expecting some kind of papers to tell me how to care with it but he just told me verbally. That's my only complaint, actually. I would rather read than have him tell me but that's why GOOGLE was born. :) Very pleased  customer
