Was looking forward to going here after researching different spots. Found tattoos seen after talking to a few people and checking out yelp, Instagram and Facebook. I called a week ago to confirm the piercing person was in on Saturdays and one of the artist I wanted work from. So of course I was told everything would be good to go for today. I got there and of course the piercing person wasn't in and the person at the front desk acted like he could not be bothered. So when  I ask about what I wanted he quickly rushed and quoted me a price that was 3x higher than any other place I went to. The sticker shock didn't bother me as much as his attitude. I bounced went down the block to asylum and got the same piece the way I wanted for around the price I was quoted at other spots and was able to get the piercing done since they actually cared to be able to do what they advertise... I'm good with tattoo seen not worth the attitude and unprofessional approach they have when it comes to doing something so important.

I wouldn't say Tattoo Seen isn't the worst tattoo shop, but I certainly wouldn't choose to go there again.  The reception staff was decently friendly, no problems there.

I forget the name of my tattooist i had, he is a brunette male.  I am not recommending this place because I just don't think the quality of work I received was good.  During my tattoo session I found out that the tattooist was an overworked, stoner. I have nothing against stoners, but if you are overworked (and probably under qualified to begin with) combined with being burnt (from smoking pot) it just does not make a recipe for a good tattoo.  All I wanted to get was the addition of some tribal work to a tribal shoulder tattoo I already had.  In the end I paid like $130 for 3 mediocre tribal lines added to what I already had.  When I showed to work to other tattooists after the fact, they said the work looked very amateur.

    wouldn't go back

I just came out and the people are not very respectful. I got a very simple piece and I guess  the women who did my tattoo was apparently bored with what i wanted and I think high, because there was a strong smell of weed in her room. she was rude and made fun of what i wanted. these people think all because they are tattoo "artist" they are to cool for manners and to be respectful to  people who are paying them for a service and experience. unless you want okay work and crappy service don't go here!!

I had my tattoo done in 2008 by Paul @ that time I was told he was tattooing for.About four years, I waited 10years to get my tat and being from the area and by the name and reputation I knew I couldn't go wrong, but unfortunately I learned the name and the reputation of a business regardless of the amount of years they have been established doesn't mean they have the best top notch artist working for them. I regret having this person doing my work, thought he was a professional and a real artist, but some people just do not take pride in their work or just do a half ass job to get a paycheck, when they need to realize their work says a lot about who they are and by the way its permanent, so if you are a miserable, non artist, who doesn't take pride in their work maybe tattooing is something you should not be doing, I'm pretty sure he no longer works there, but unfortunately I had two cover ups done to cover his shitty work.  As for the shop it self it brings down the reputation when just anyone can get hired to do the work of a truely genuine professional when you aredoing permanent meaningful art that will be on your body forever. Seen needs to be at his shop more often, because the people that work there also represent him. I would never go back there and would tell anyone to look at your artist portfolio and if he seems to busy or inpatient to answer questions and make you feel comfortable then keep shopping around regardless of the non refundable monies you put down that makes you feel obligated to stay there, ask for a different artist or change your appointment til you find the one that best suits you. As for there customer service I wasn't happy at all, especially when I went back after the piece was done and the staff couldn't figure out what my piece was, that tells you what a garbage job Paul did.

I had a tattoo done by Den a couple of days ago I explained what I wanted and got something totally different the color and drawing is horrible it looks like something my five year old would draw and color  no detail no shading it was my fault for trusting he would do something beautiful... I'm definitely going to have to touch up this tat with a proffeshional tatoo artist...I regret going there

I don't have any tats, but I always take friends up here when they are in town for some ink. I know a couple of artist that work here and they are top notch at their game. Nothing stays opened in NY for this long with a shitty reputation, remember this when reading bogus bashing reviews that people post.

I've had both of my tattoos done here! My first tattoo I went on with exactly what I wanted & had done my research (I don't believe in those tattoo "catalogs") my tattoo was a fairy with lots of fine details and alot of color my tattoo artist was amazing! He made me feel comfortable (I got the tattoo on my back upper right shoulder) and my tattoo took almost 5 hrs. He was detailed, professional & cute ( in that he has over 100 tattoos and looks like a bad ass) and had the softest hands. I can't  remember his name bc I did my first tattoo almost 9 yrs ago but everyone there is good and it's very very clean. My 2nd tattoo was a simple design. I had it done on my left wrist and I also brought in a sketch. The tattoo took all of 7 minutes  to do! I loved it again my tattoo artist was professional & most importantly clean. I would recommend anyone who wants a good piece of art on them. Just do your research before you get a permanent piece of art on your body.

I got my tattoo done here over a year ago by Mike and I like this place.

I think it depends on who you get when they see you cuz some of the staff members can be a little "hood."

But I personally think that the "receptionists" attitude shouldn't matter just as long as your tattoo comes out the way you want it too cuz its something you're going to have on you forever unless you want to spend the money and get it removed, which I heard is more painful then getting the tattoo itself.  No thanks!
