It's been three months since I got my first tattoo and I have to say, I love it! Â I was back in town from college for just the day and within a few hours got something unique and exactly what I wanted. Â Matt was the guy that tattooed me and I must admit, he is fantastic! Â My next tattoo will definitely be done here. Â Not to mention, it's the oldest parlor in StL and second in the nation. That is special, and I'm proud to tell everyone where I got my tattoo and I always get complements on it.
Review Source:This was my first tattoo from Trader Bobs. Many, many years ago I came with friends who were big fans of this place. I came upon this place to date from following some great artists that came from All Star. Another place I have been to and have had good experiences with the work I had done from there. I saw that Omar P. was now at Trader Bob's and decided to follow him there. Heard great things about his work. From the phone call with Trevor and walking in the day before with my ideas speaking with Omar I knew this was a great place. Omar took his time discussing what I wanted and fit me into his schedule the very next day. When I did come in for my tatt, Omar again took his time with drawing up his idea from mine and that showed me he was a real artist and eager to please us both. Great personal attention! The people there we very fun, laid back and friendly. My husband and I were there for 4 hours and they made it very comfortable. Most places are too uptight, loud and can make people feel uncomfortable for being there. This place is the exception!  I loved our time there. Omar has a great "bed side manner" and was very considerate while working on me. He is an amazing tattoo artist!! You  can see that in his work!! I was very very happy! Overall great experience from Trader Bob's! If you are going anywhere else your nuts cause this place has great artists and great, fun, cool people that work there so what else can you ask for?! Omar is the best!
Review Source:Love this place! I came in on a Friday night and they got me in. I got to have a guest tattooer, he was from Seattle I believe, and my friend also got a tattoo. At first I was skeptical, because when I showed them the parts of the tattoo I wanted ( I wanted my artist to sort of put them all together), I wanted a medium sized, realistic looking tattoo. My artist explained that it would need to take up a good portion of my back for it to look good. he said we could scale it down but it would need to be more of the traditional, cartoonish tattoo. I liked his sketch quite a bit, although when getting the tattoo I didn't know he was going to shade any of it, and he did, but it looked good so no complaints.
The best part was the experience. I recently got a tattoo at iron age and got a great tat but terrible experience. At Trader Bob's my friend and I were able to get tattoo's in the same room, hang out and talk with the artists. It was my friends first tattoo and my 3rd (my other two were small though) and they did not make us feel uncool or poserish for not being covered in ink. I think my friends artist was pepto or something weird, but he was pretty cool too. She had to wait while I got mine and he brought someone else back there to tattoo and it was just really chill, we were all talking and laughing. I think we were there something like 3 hours and I seriously didn't even notice because it was such a good time.
Come here, hang out, get a good tattoo!
