I have been getting my tattoos from trigger happy in La Habra for close to a decade and have nothing but great things to say about the cleanliness of the shop and professional staff. Dave Brewer is the owner AND simply put..an exceptional tattoo artist. I have never been disappointed with any work and absolutely refuse to go anywhere else. Keep up the good work men! :D
Review Source:some of the other reviews sound like babies "he didn't say sweet nothings to me" " I didn't feel loved" "he didn't kiss my ouchy" If thats what you want this is not your place. If you want CLEAN, well trained artist and pierces that happen to be nice, then this is the place! I love Phil he has a dry humor but it puts me at ease. The other guys are awesome too I haven't had a bad interaction with any of them. As far as price goes these guys are very reasonable I got some work done in fullerton that wasn't half as good, cost a boat load and the artist was a a hole with a sign with a gun on it saying must tip artist (I do not have to be told this thank you very much)
Review Source:I went to get both of my tragus pierced. I brought a friend with me. As soon as i was in the shop the guys welcomed us in and were very nice and helpful. David did the piercings. Everything was sterlized correctly. David was fun and polite, he let my friend watch and he even engaged in our conversations. He was happy to give me his card and said to call if i had any problems or any questions. I loved the place and the vibe, I plan to go back for any more piercings or any tattoos in the future.
Review Source:I went to trigger happy awhile ago, and was totally ripped off. an EXTREMELY small tattoo on my wrist cost me $120 (i then got at another parlor, a larger tattoo, that used more ink, and it was only $70)
Maybe it was cause i was an 18 year old, maybe it was cause it was my first tattoo, i dont know. Regardless, this business took advantage of me, i wont be back.
oh and another thing that i thought was humorous, wa sthat the expensive wrist tattoo that i got at Trigger Happy, was drawn by me. I took in a picture that i drew, and rather than creating his own piece of art, the Tattoo artist just downsized my picture, and copied it onto me.
No original work.
Saw Phil for my piercings. Phil is alright; just a dry "don't give a s*#&* about you" attitude. With the first piercing, it went well despite the indifferent attitude so I went back for the next. I was told by Phil that my piercing is "easy money" & [he] doesn't care about piercing anymore. Then proceeded to put my second piercing in the wrong place with a continued indifference. I know I should have just walked out when he said those things but I figured I'd just get my piercing & go my merry way. I took it out 2weeks later cause it annoyed me so much. Dude, if you are no longer passionate about what you do, you need to find something else.
Review Source:Came here with my sister to get her first tattoo and my second. Â Had heard pretty good reviews about this place so I decided to give it a try because the first place we had went to for our first estimate was a bit out of my price range. Â The guy was pretty flexible on my budget and even lowered the price more for the inconvenience of waiting almost an hour to get a tattoo even though we had an appointment set. Â All in all the tattoo turned out BEAUTIFULLY but the service was a bit on the iffy side.
Review Source:I personally did not get tattooed here but I went with two of my girlfriends; one was getting her first and the other it was her second. Â Both were on the ribs.
Pros:
Very clean shop
It appears as though they have a lot of repeat business
The custom art work is very nice.
Cons:
$3 charge for debit and credit transactions.
They will not allow anyone to enter the work area.
One bench in the aisle to wait for someone if they are getting tattooed.
Did not put anything on the table and there was a rip in the cover.
Although we had a 5:00PM appointment and arrived at 4:45PM he took a walk in saying "it will be quick". Â They weren't even seen until 5:40PM.
Accepted an expired ID.
***Did not give any aftercare information to the first timer***
***Told second timer to use Vaseline!!***
Not very friendly or patient with the first timer.
I would not come here for my own work.
My 15 year old daughter wanted her nose pierced for her birthday. My wife, daughter and a few of her friends went to this studio to have it done. "Phil the Kill" who is the resident piercer wasn't the nicest of guys. My daughter stated that he lacked compassion for her first piercing and wasn't very accomodating. He wouldn't allow anyone to sit with her to help calm her nerves and hold her hand. He then told her if she didn't calm down he wouldn't pierce her. All in all, she's satified with the piercing, but not with the customer service she received. At the time the shop had no other customers and my daughters friends were cheering her on and trying to settle her down a bit. Phil kept 'shushing' the girls as if the other customer would hear which there were none. If you just want to get the job done I suppose this shop will do just that but if you or your kid are a first timer, celebrating a birthday with something new and daring then I'd look elsewhere.
Review Source:I got my first tattoo here about 10 years ago ( with kasey, I don't even think he works there anymore). Â After my brother seen mine he got his done at THT as well.
The place was VERY clean and the people that worked there were not only extremely friendly ( which in my journey of finding the perfect spot) was a rarity, but very professional as well. When asking about there needle usage and ink usage I got ANSWERS, and not one worded answers, or brush offs. These guys ARE NOT punks, but RATHER COOL.
Overall I really like this place.
Dave Brewer is as good as tattoo artists get. Â I have seen plenty of others work and sadly none compare. Â He has done 99% of the work on my husband, and has done 6 of mine. Â The shop is clean, the artists are cool, and the artwork on the walls is amazing! Â We will no longer go anywhere else.
If your in the market for a new artist, look no further, all of the guys here are awesome. Â Be cool, don't be a sissy, don't act like a douche and you'll have a great experience. Â
Writing this I can hear the buzzing of the tattoo gun....possibly the itch for new ink......
Trigger Happy is my tattoo home. Â From the moment I walked in a few years ago and began discussing a cover up with Jon Kelly I knew that this would be the place I would go whenever the ink bug struck me. Â This is one of the best shops around in OC and California in general. Â I personally have had all of my work done by Jon Kelly, and he is nothing short of amazing. Â If you give him the opportunity to be creative and freehand you will come away with an amazing tattoo (or sleeve and more in my case) and a sense of satisfaction that you have awesome art on your body for the rest of your life. Â All of the guys at the shop are excellent artists. Â They are also some of the coolest guys around. Â You will never be short on jokes and general laughter at any moment you are in the shop.
To be completely honest, I walked into Trigger Happy for a tattoo, and left with not only a lot of ink, but some new and awesome friends.
Do yourself a favor.....when you are considering a tattoo, go see the boys. Â You will never regret it.
