Disappointing!!!!
Found this place on the internet and after reading the reviews and checking out the website I decided to try them out. Â I am in the process of trying to grow out my hair (trying because every time I get a haircut and tell the stylist I'm growing it out, they cut too much off the length after saying they are only going to take the ends.....) and was looking for a place that could give me a cutting edge, hip, sleek style during the growth process. Â I had not had my hair cut in 4 months and had been able to finally add some length to it and was excited to be able to get a style to go with the length. I called to schedule and was able to get right in.....that should've been my first clue. Â Good stylists are usually booked up well in advance and never have openings that soon. The person that answered the phone was the stylist that was going to do my hair and I explained to her what I was looking for and I was advised I'd get a 30% first time customer discount.
Fifteen minutes the day of my appt I get a phone call that my stylist called in sick. Â They could reschedule me for later in the day, which didn't coincide with my work schedule. Â So, they told me to come over and they'd try to work me in. Â Got there in 15 minutes to find the place deadier than a doornail....work me in, really??? Â While I was there I overheard another employee mention that the stylist I was originally schedule with was out again. Â
Needless to say, I was pushed in and out in 30 minutes in what felt very rushed and ended up leaving with a plain ole, boring bob that even with the first time customer 30% discount I paid over $40 for. Â It looked EXACTLY like the bob I paid $20 for at the cheap walk in place 4 months prior. Â As usual, too much off the length, not enough layers/styling for the rest - very boring and plain! Â And I start the regrowth process all over again :(
Having been a previous customer of Gadabout for many, many  years I would say this place is very overrated and over priced.  I have NEVER paid over $40 for a haircut ever anywhere, particularly when only given 30 minutes total time and for what ended up being a trim instead of a style.  I do appreciate the accommodations of "squeezing" me in, but honestly if squeezing me in means you aren't going to take the time to do a thorough job then don't do the customer that disservice.
Would not go back!
Finally found the answer to the search for bombshell lashes! Jill Adelyn at Twisted Salon is a magician! I am always tickled pink with the results of my lash extensions ! I get endless compliments , they feel natural and I don't have to use mascara or eye makeup each day which gives me an extra 15 minutes in the morning! I highly recommend seeing Jill and checking out this fantastic salon!!!!
Review Source:Been going to the same salon for years and found out that my colorist relocated to Twisted. Â Decided to give the place a try last Saturday with a simple request - just a style - for a photoshoot I was part of that afternoon. Â Obviously, I knew the stylist, Sonja, so I knew what I was getting there, which is great. Â However, its the ultra cool vibe in this place that makes it a place you want to go back to over and over. Â Mimosas are ready for you as well as anything else you might want while you wait. Â Whitney also helped with my 'do, which turned out amazing. Â I will definitely be getting out of my salon rut and visiting Whitney and Sonja at Twisted again. Â Thanks, ladies!
Review Source:I had put off a haircut for as long as humanly possible, as I hadn't found a new stylist after moving to Tucson. I had driven past Twisted on a nearly daily basis and decided to see if they could get me in for a last minute appointment before I left on vacation. Fortunately, they had a time slot available so I made my appointment.
I fell in love with Twisted as soon as I walked in the door. I was a bit early so I was invited to sit down, and was offered a drink and snacks. The music was enjoyable and not too loud and the decor was fresh and hip. I love that they have a tattoo artist on the premise and will have to find out more about their artist.
My appointment was with Dominique who is absolutely adorable and did a fantastic job with my hair. I loved chatting with her and the bob she gave me looks amazing. I will definitely be going back to Twisted and will not let anyone but Dominique touch my hair for as long as I can get away with it. I highly recommend that people check this place out for an awesome new style.
Another Yelp win for me. I noticed Twisted in a yelp weekly email and MAN did I need a haircut. It had been about a month too long since I had a cut. Somehow after two years in Tucson, I had not managed to find a place that was appealing enough to get a cut in Tucson.
I know this will seem weird, but I normally get my hair cut at Rudy's - which is not in Tucson - and clearly that is problematic.
Rudy's has by far been my favorite place to get a hair cut for a LONG time. I first found them in '94 on Pine Street in Seattle - and that location offered tattoo at that time. I got inked and shorn there several times. Since then I have visited Rudy's in PDX, LAX, as well as Seattle. So I am in a rut, but they offer a specific experience which I crave, and I figured I would never find that anywhere else.
I have to admit the edgy nature of Twisted really appealed to me.
I am psyched to have found Twisted. It has a great vibe - which to me is key - and it is in Tucson! The location is pretty easy to get to and the space feels welcoming - and the ladies behind the counter were very cool, relaxed and made me feel at ease right away.
Looked to me like there is ample nail service for those of you who want a mani or pedicure, and yes there is a tattooer in residence here. Just might have to check that out too!!
I got my cut from Michele - I highly recommend her.
The salon opened in November so is just getting started - very worthy of checking out.
When I received a postcard from my hairstylist, Audi, I was ecstatic to see that she was relocating her station from a mall chain beauty salon to a local place that wasn't in such close proximity to crowded parking lots.
I was even more ecstatic when I arrived at the super hip, ultra trendy establishment. I was quickly offered a mimosa (!) and shown a spread of delicious munchies, from popcorn to pretzels to nuts and chocolate. Did I mention they offer mimosas? The decor is very industrial - exposed ducts and lots of concrete. The overal color pallette is blood red and dark grey. I dig it.
Oh, and what was that just to my right? A room where they do tattoos? While I'm not inked, I appreciated their different approach to beauty.
I can't speak for all of the stylists but obviously I love Audi as I was willing to deal with mall parking on the weekend just to see her. She always does a great job on my color and cut - she gets my hair like no else. In addition to the usual, I opted for the "evil" Â Brazilian Blowout and the results have been fantastic! She also made my eyebrows ladylike again.
Audi told me that they intend to start offering fun bridal packages, which I look forward to for my wedding day!
