My son and I flew to LA to attend a wedding last year, and while we were there we visited Union Electric Tattoo.  We  could not have had a better experience!  I was unsure of the design to get, but the artist listened to my idea and then created the design from scratch. It was perfect!  And the finished product was better than I could have ever hoped for. If I am ever back in LA again, we will be back for another tattoo!
Review Source:After checking out yelp--we discovered Union Electric. My boyfriend had a tough touch up on a 12 year old larger tattoo. He saw Nick Hawthorne, who did a killer job. He was quick, very detailed, and added better color and shading making the tattoo even better than it was when it was first inked. Nick quoted a price, and even though he went over on the time, he never changed the price--which seemed really honest and straight forward. Nick is cool, classy, very talented, and he made the whole experience very enjoyable. The rest of the staff are also friendly and all their work is top notch. Union Electric is the only place to go for ink.

I just got my very first tattoo and thanks to Big5, I can't wait for my next one. He did such a great job helping with my design idea. His work was fast, precise, and turned out beautifully. I couldn't be happier. The shop is very clean, the artists are very friendly, and I love all the decor.
I will be back for more ink :)
Two weeks ago I got a tattoo by Big 5, hands down the best experience I've ever had with getting a tattoo.
His work is quick and efficient. I came in with an initial idea, and Big 5 took that idea and turned it into my favorite tattoo. Â
I'm completely healed and very happy with my new tattoo. Big 5 is my only tattoo artist  from now on.
The shop has a great vibe, good music, all of the staff and artists are very talented and very friendly.
I came in on Thursday (5/27/10) to get a tattoo. I knew more or less what I wanted but I didn't bring anything with me. I described it to Chuck and he told me to wait about 20 mins. He came back with a design that was perfect. 5 Minutes later I was in the chair. Chuck did an excellent job! And, in no time at all! I was seriously done in under 30 minutes. The tatt looks great and I will be coming back here again for my next piece.

I had a small tattoo done by the main artist Big 5 and it's great, I love it! Great work, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg!
I loved the place so much I came back to get a rib piece and had Jim Sylvia do it. His work is amazing!! His color work is great!
4 hours, and only a 5 minute break in between later, I had a beautiful rib piece for $400 you can't beat that! He made me feel super comfortable, being a female having a man work on your ribs for 4 hours may be uncomfortable, but he is a sweetheart!
My husband will be getting work done here, he loves my rib piece!
I highly recommend this place! It's a great  tattoo shop & Artist's that I will always recommend!
