Walk-in, was helped immediately. They even made room for my wife to get tattooed by Dave. Got great recommendations from my tattoo artist Justin. Love my tattoo. Super straight, clean lines and awesome shading. Will be coming back

Read reviews and thought this would be the perfect place to get something drawn up. Saw a couple bad reviews about people having to wait for over an hour but figured they were blowing it out of context... But I went here and was told I would be helped soon. Instead I waited 45 minutes while 1 guy worked and the other 2 workers sat playing with some dirty stray dog they found. How this place is in business I don't know because the people working here have no class. I heard a lot of good things about this Vicky lady but after being made wait by her and some loser with stretched ear lobes I wouldn't let her do any work on me even if it was free.

Some people believe you should "make an appointment" (even when you call and they tell you to come down) I'm not sure how other people plan their schedule but if I'm booked out for several weeks I wouldn't be telling callers to come down so I can watch them sit. Obviously intelligence isn't a strong suit here.
My strong opinion is not to even take the risk of being told to come down and wait for them to finish an hour long conversation.

I've been here several times to get tattooed by Vicky Coleman and Peter Campbell. I've  had the absolute best experience each time. They are super professional and really took my suggestions/inspiration into consideration each time I had something drawn up. I absolutely love my tattoos by them and recommend these two any chance I get. The Gardena shop is so close to long beach and is honestly the best place to get tattooed in the area. The shop is clean, organized and pleasant environment to be in while getting tattooed.

All the bad reviews about walk-ins having to wait a long time are fucking hilarious.. Sooo, you're telling me that you read bad reviews about walk-ins having to wait a long time and you still decided to just walk-in?!  It didn't cross your mind to ummm, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?!  These artists are booked out several weeks because there is a demand for their work and they have loyal clients who make repeat appointments with them.  It's not a nail salon..you're not asking for a $20 mani/pedi.  Get a friggin clue.

Peter Campbell is an amazing artist (he specializes in Japanese style tattoos) and he is a really chill person.  Vicky is also really cool.  Impulse (walk-in) tattoos usually end up on shows like America's Worst Tattoo so Remember to plan out what you want AND make a freaking appointment...it's not complicated.

I came in for a consult after I called and they said to come right on over. I walked in and 2 guys said they'd be right with me. Then they continued their conversation and kept goofing off. After about 10 minutes, as I was about to leave they said oh hey, I didn't see you standing there. I told them I spoke to a woman on the phone about a tattoo and she said to come on by. One of the guys went to get her and I waited for about 5 minutes. I told her I wanted to finish my sleeve but I hate flowers as well as the colors red and pink. Not even listening she said she had the perfect idea of cherry blossoms as fill ins. So again, I told her I hate flowers as well as red and pink - I do NOT want them on my body. So she said trust her it'll look good.

First of all, it's my body and I'll put whatever I want on it. When I tell you I DO NOT want certain items, do not try and insist it'll look cool. I don't care how good of an artist you are, I'm the one that'll have to wear it the rest of my life. Second of all, if I'm gonna spend $ on something it'll be for what I want, not what looks cool. I get tattoos for things that have meaning to me, not to 'look cool'.

Obviously, I didn't bother getting anything from them.

I have a few tattoos but I've never had a tattoo done out in LA. It's definitely my new go to place and I'd recommend it to anyone. Everyone is very nice, great environment and it's super clean.

I specifically asked for Vicky to do my tattoo (after checking her portfolio out and reading several other positive reviews on Yelp) and she was an absolutely rockstar! She's an amazing artist and made my thoughts come to life in her drawing. The tattoo is exactly what I wanted and she did an amazing job with the colors and shading. She was gentle, talkative and made my experience that much better. I highly recommend her as an tattoo artist!

Whether you're new to getting tattoos or have gotten several but just need a new place, this is definitely somewhere you should check out! I'll definitely be coming back!

This place is great... I was really afraid to get my first tattoo but I went here to check it out. They were super helpful and really nice. They helped me figure out a cute tattoo and made me really comfortable through the whole process. I'm really glad I chose this place... I would definitely go back here if I decide to get any more tattoos.

My body just an evil mickeymouse looking over the world. It is one of the sickest art works i have ever seen. The artist here are 100% professionals and work in detail. I have not been inked in over a year but this place has got me changing my mind. I will take a pic next time i see him and post it right here!!! he does not have a yelp so i thought i post the review for him. The employees are all very cool and nice.

Jon Hall is an absolutely amazing artist. I tossed over the idea of getting a hummingbird perched on a teacup tattooed over my heart in honor of my grandma for a couple years. I was lucky enough to have a friend of mine get a bird tattooed on her by Mr. Hall, and when I saw how beautiful the bird was, I knew who I was going to for my chest piece! Although the tattoo was excruciatingly painful, Jon Hall was quick, thorough, and quite a fun guy to converse with  to get my mind off the throbbing on my chest. The tattoo healed wonderfully and I get so many compliments on how well it's done and the coloring! Jon has a great eye for color. Anyways, I definitely want more works of art done by Jon Hall on my skin canvas.

Sooo... I really wanted to give Vickie a 5*, but this shop as a whole I'm afraid only gets a 3...
My husband and others we know have gotten work done by Vicky that  is just awesome, and amazing. !!!!
I called to make some appts for my husband and I. We wanted rings. Was told Vickie was out of town. Okay fine. Simple tattoo, anyone else in he shop available.. Sure... But was told he wasn't willing to put his name on it because he didn't think it would look good.  I can understand protecting your reputation, but ok..

I yelped another shop, got my new ink and it looks phenomenal!! AND is exactly what I asked for! Thanks for nothin' yer cheating' heart!

Ps for people who haven't been here. Parking is pretty non existent here and the area has much to be desired. I wouldn't recommend coming here of your a temid kind of person...

Was referred here by a friend, showed up as a walk in and starting communicating with the guy at front counter. About 30 min later another walk in came in. Some how they were seated ahead of me, waited for my turn, 1 hr 30 min later I was told that all tattoo artists have appointments coming up and would not be able to help me.  would of been nice to know I wouldn't be helped before I wasted 2 hours of my live, just seating there.

Everyone was professional and acknowledged my existence this time, which was definitely an improvement from the reception I got when I went to the shop in Hermosa.

I chose Vicky as my artist, and as other Yelpers have mentioned, she is super sweet and does a great job to boot!! If I were still living in the area, I would have chosen her as my go-to artist. I told her that i was moving to the SF Bay Area, and she was able to recommend some good artist friends of hers up there. So the first time I talked to her, I gave her a general idea of what I wanted: what, where, how big. We made an appointment for the following week, and when the time came, I brought in pictures of the style that I wanted. Vicky went over the pictures with me and then went into the back to sketch out the stencil. Since I was getting it done behind my ear, she had me lie down and then turn my head to the side... so I couldn't see it until she was all done... and it turned out BEAUTIFUL!! (I have gotten multiple compliments on it since I got it about a month ago.)

The whole process was done in an hour. It's cash only but they have an ATM in the shop. The tattoo was $80, plus extra for Vicky for being, how shall we say, awesome!

    Tips:
Parking can be annoying, especially toward the evening. There is 1 hour street parking out front if you're lucky enough to find it, or maybe you can park on the other side of the railroad tracks and walk across Vermont.
Yes it is a tad sketchy/grungy on the outside, but inside is uber clean and spotless. They are legit!!

Vicky's a Doll and I have nothing but love for the Tattoo that she just put on my left ribs (Arabic Writing) small tat for $60 perfectly done and placed and exactly what I wanted with clean tools and a smile! She is professional, took my credit card straight from her iphone and texted me my receipt right there on the spot! She's drawing my next piece as I type this and she offered to text me the drawing later so I didn't have wait around at the shop or waste my gas coming back... what more could I ask for?...

Now I'll be very honest the artist at this shop are not hand holdy supper friendly fake smiley rainbows and welcoming unicorns! they just aren't, but what they are is real and ready for business and from what I've seen they have consistently provided top notch tattoo's for years and that's what I went in for not a damn hug! I think some of the bad reviewers have been watching a lil too much LA and Miami Ink (just say'n) these people are at work they are not your friends.... no matter who you go with you won't be disappointed I wanted a female artist so I researched Vicky's work and went with her and couldn't be happier.... Good Luck! Tat's are kinda for life so choose wisely lol

Jon Hall did my latest tattoo...on my birthday!! F*** yeah. I'm so stoked he was able to do it considering I called in super last minute and was coming from the Valley. But I've known of his work for some time now and had my mind set on getting tattooed by him. My tattoo came out pretty badass. He works fast and charges a very reasonable price. I'm hyped and can't wait to get something else from him in the future. The only drawback was the hour and a half drive home..in traffic. Still worth it though!

My husband and I found this tattoo shop on yelp and paid it a visit because of all the good reviews and they didn't let us down. This was my first tattoo and it was a great experience.  Since my husband and I were getting similar tattoos, Miles drew them both up. I absolutely loved what he drew. He did my husbands tattoo and mike did mine. I am completely satisfied with how they both came out.

i had been wanting this certain tattoo done for 3 years, so i finally committed and went and got it. I did a lot of research into where i should go, and when i went into this tattoo shop, i knew it was the one. The shop was very clean and organized and everyone there was friendly and willing to help. All of the artists had great portfolios as well, and Vicki's portfolio caught my eye. She wasn't in at the time I was there so i grabbed her business card and gave her a call the next day. She sounded really nice over the phone and i told her what i wanted and she was able to give me great feedback over the phone.

I went to my appointment the following weekend and I had to wait a little bit because she was still tattooing her other customer. After she was done, i showed her what i wanted, which was Old German type writing on my ribs. She didn't want to free style it so it took us awhile to download it on the computer because it was somewhat of a rare font. But once we got it, we were good to go. She made me feel really comfortable and relaxed which was good especially because I had anticipated a lot of pain. She was really gentle too, and even though it was on my ribs the pain was tolerable. I was very happy with the result and she told me i could come back in a couple weeks for touch-ups, but i never had to go because she did a great job. I would recommend anybody to Vicki, because i know that for my all my future tattoos i will be going to her again!

My husband of 13 years just got home and I must say the work done was absolutley beautiful. Timm was able to take my husband's idea and make it a reality. Truly a lovey piece and a job to be proud of. The shop is very clean and atmosphere very lively and "talky". Great location if you want to avoid the beach crowd and traffic. "Timm's a really great guy- someone great to talk to". Again, his work was A+   and that's coming from me- the wife- so yes, I approve :)

    Awww, I love Vicky.

    I got a small tattoo and it consisted of 3 black silhouette birds and even though it was small, she didn't judge. She was friendly and engaged in my friends' conversation while she did my tattoo. We talked during the process and my tattoo hurt like a BITCH, but then it just became numb because Vicky was talking and it kept my mind off the pain. Also, the place looks a little bit sketchy at first, but when you walk inside, it's super clean and comfortable. You shouldn't be intimidated..if you are, bring a posse and you'll be fine hahhaha. But honestly, my first experience of getting a tattoo could have been horrible, but it was really great. I loveee this place and I might be getting a second one (;

My tattoo was $50 and that price is very reasonable! I know my friend who
also got a tattoo there and she loved ittt.

So to sum it up, get your ass over there and get a sexy tattoo.

I'm so sorry, but these guys suck. Artwork is okay but not great as I was checking out their tats, but the real deal is they are soo dishonest and ripoffs. I went in and wasn't really feeling the shop but was going to give it a shot. This other group in there, a girl  had gotten, sorry!, a lame skull tattoo and it was $150!? Then for my little koi fish tattoo they quoted $120 with only tiny bit of red coloring and a tattoo which ended up not even a half hour tattoo they quoted an hour! They had also said they wouldn't do the size I wanted because they couldn't put in any detail and it would have to be much larger! South Bay did it just fine. I got it done at a much nicer, cleaner, cooler shop called South Bay Tattoo in Carson. Those guys were honest, fun, and work  is incredible! It was $80 and half an hour and I'm so happy I went to South Bay. The guys laughed at the other shop's quote  and everything they had said as purely ridiculous and typical of them.

I found this place thanks to the other reviewers here on Yelp who almost all have high praise for this shop and as usual, they were right on the money.  This was my second tattoo and the first major piece I've had done.  I went in and Tim was the first person i spoke to and he was really friendly and helpful.  I eventually went with Vicki because of all the word of mouth about her and he was cool about it and didn't give me any shit at all (a first in my experience).

Vicki was absolutely amazing!  She worked with me and spent a lot of time coming up with a wonderful design that was leaps and bounds beyond what I originally intended to get.  I came in with a simple idea and she ran with it and I couldn't be happier with the end result.  She gave me an original design, at a reasonable price and she is truly a great artist!

Everyone in the shop was professional, friendly and more importantly the place was CLEAN; very CLEAN.  They have just opened a shop in Hermosa and I wish the whole crew continued success.  I'd recommend this shop to anyone and will be going back for more ink in the future.

Vicky is easy going, she doesn't make you feel like she's doing you a favor. My favorite think about Vicky is that she is light handed and pretty fast. The shop is clean and the other artist are good also. Jon Hall has also tattooed me and he is bad ass too. You can't go wrong at Yer' Cheatn Heart Tattoo.

Just got my 2nd tattoo from Yer Cheatin' Heart. Found them through observing all the amazing ink on the gals at Ultra Lux (in Redondo Beach), and asking where many of them had their work done.

I had this really important piece I wanted to do in memory of my grandmother, so it had to be done well, and with thought and feeling. I needed an artist that would work on it with the importance I had placed on it. Mike Yniguez spent a great deal of time with me helping me to get exactly what I wanted and even offered some great suggestions to make it even better. He worked patiently and seamlessly with me to get the placement just right and the colors perfect. I am so proud of and pleased with this piece. He make a pretty ordinary idea turn into something extraordinary. I cannot believe how great it turned out. Especially since it wasn't a piece that seemed what the shop is kinda used to working on. A++ for Mr. Mike Yniguez. He has a great table-side manner and is a whiz with color!

I posted a pic here on their Yelp profile so you can see what I mean about his work. It's the monarch butterfly piece. I will definitely be recommending Mike to anyone who asks, especially since they will be opening in Hermosa Beach soon--hooray for Yer Cheatin' Heart!

My review isnt based on a tattoo... i went into this shop because i had heard such good things about it...unfortunately it wasnt what i hoped for..i walked in and no one noticed i was there for a while they didnt even look up..then eventually someone coldly asked me what i wanted and i told and showed them exactly..and they said $300-$400..well which is it? and i dont mind spending money for a good tattoo but they seemed pretty high because i had something similar before and it was only half as much...( and i would of gone back to my old tattoo guy but he moved..)plus im not new at this i have a bunch of tattoos, he said that he couldnt really help me right now though because he was in the middle of something..(NO HE WASNT) im sure their work would of been fantastic..but i want a nice place and people to go along with it..not somewhere where they think they are too cool for customer service...i went to ace of hearts tattoo in san pedro and am very happy and satisfied with the shop the people and most of all my tattoo..

These guys are professional and damn cool.  I traveled from Boston to LA in August to see a Queens of the Stone Age concert.  I was also able to visit a few friends while I was out there.  It was the best vacation I had taken in quite some time, so I wanted to commemorate my trip by getting some new ink.  All I showed up with was a crappy image on my phone, but my tattoo artist, Tim, was willing to take the time to dig it up on his computer and sketched me the most badass QOTSA tattoo I could ask for.  I the price was fair and when I almost overpaid BIGTIME, Tim pointed it out right away telling me to put some cash back in my pocket.  He could have easily taken me to the cleaners as I wasn't even paying attention.  I must have been too distracted by the fact that I got kick-ass tattoo.

Thank-you Tim and the rest of the friendly crew at Yer Cheat'n Heart.  Your shop is way better than any of these crap parlors out here in Boston.  I'll be back for another.

Three of my tattoos were done at this shop. All by different artist and each one came out amazing. My first one was done by John Hall he is an amazing artist who does wonderful traditional work, I got a traditional heart with a rose; it was actually a cover up of a tattoo that I got when I was younger and you wouldn't know it if I didn't tell you. The second one was done by Mike his letters are truly beautiful. The third one was done by Pepe I got a crown with a lot of red in it and I've had it for three years now and it still looks new, if you are going for rich colors like red go to Pepe he is amazing and so nice. Everyone in the shop were really nice and helpful in finding an artist that is right for the piece you are getting, they don't send you to any artist that is open which is good.  Walk-in are welcome too.

Got tattooed here by Jon Hall and he cold rocked it.  Twist on a classic panther in a one-of-kind style.

Yes, folks, you heard it here.  The man was able to take a mainstay tattoo image and turn it into something the likes of which you've never seen before.  I could post a picture, but there is a pic of it on his myspace, so you'll have to do a little leg-work.  Plus you can check out the other cool stuff that he has done.

Solid, clean lines and bold shading.

The shop is cool, too.  The place is spotless, with good flash from legendary artists.  Front people are quick to assist you.  Didn't have to wait long for my appointment either.

It's funny that I'm just barely taking the time and writing a review...
I have had two tattoos done at Yer Cheat'n Heart, so far by Jon Hall. The first one was done about 5 years ago. It is a chest piece- completed in two sessions. I had my left sleeve done by him, as well. However,  it is still a work in progress and hope to be returning to finish it sometime next month. Despite, the evil, color-eating sun, the color is still pretty bold and I always get major compliments on the work and color anywhere I go. The location allows for street-parking only, but they're almost on the corner, so I just park on the next block (which is residential), cut across the gas station and pick up some snacks and stuff, before I get there. I would say it's a 2 minute walk, if you're walking very slowly. It's on a main street that leads to industrial area, so it looks industrial, but there are a lot of apartments and houses. I don't get nervous or anything coming or going-even at night, but that's just me.  I work M-F til evenings and  work about two hours away(in traffic), and he's very accommodating with appointments. His work area is in a separate building behind the main shop. You have to pass a cool pond with a water mill and I think it has Koi fish, too. It's an interesting set-up and  very private, so you don't have to worry about random walk-ins staring at you while you get work done.  I only pay in cash, but they have an ATM in the shop, which is pretty spiffy!  Check 'em out you won't be disappointed!

I have had the utmost pleasure of having 3 tattoos ( MUCH more to come) done at this shop. Johnny 2/3rds ( the shop owner ) did my first tattoo along with a semi matching one for my sister. Johnny 2/3rds tattoo was on my right wrist and was exactly what I wanted. Amazing detail, Amazing color. Johnny was patient, exited and was incredibly understanding. In other words the perfect tattoo artist. I simply gave him an idea gave him artistic control and unleashed his awesomeness. ( personally I strongly suggest giving all your tattoo artists artistic control as the end result always ends up better imo )

Next I walked in and received a tattoo on my left wrist from the amazing Vicky ! Again Vicky listened to my ideas threw out some concepts for me to consider and I unleashed her awesomeness. As another reviewer said she really is very gentle while doing the tattoo, if I wasn't such a chatterbox I probably could have fallen asleep it was that easy and relaxing. End result was a fabulous tattoo that complimented my right wrist tattoo ( both are foundations for sleeves )

Finally just last week I went in to get my first script ink. This time I had the pleasure of having Andre "Dre" Perales do my ink and boy did he make a masterpiece. At Vicky and Andre's suggestion I went with a neck choker tattoo instead of getting it on my back as I had originally thought of for placement. I am SO glad I listened to them as now I cannot even imagine having it anywhere else. It works perfectly as a neck choker.

The store itself is across from Hustler Casino and is immaculately clean. Seriously when i say clean I mean you can eat off the floor CLEAN. All the employees are very kind, friendly and none of them are pretentious or stuck up. They are down to earth people who love what they do and are still happy to be doing it. All of them are inked up themselves (one of my rules for getting tattoos is the artist has to have to have their own ink ).

The price is VERY good. If anything they are a bit cheaper priced than other places which is strange because they really are a wonderful shop with AMAZING artists.

If you live in the South Bay area or are visiting from out of town and are thinking of getting a tattoo you owe it to yourself to check out Yer Cheatin Heart Tattoo shop.

One other thing I feel should probably be mentioned. They are extremely popular and are often booked weeks if not months in advance so call before you show up. There is almost always at least one artist there available for walk ups but because all the artists are so good they very often are booked for the day. So call and see if anyone is available for a walk up or set up an appointment.

The only accept cash but they have an ATM machine inside the shop. The parking is street parking. It is wheelchair accessible.

I rate this 5 stars and will absolutely be returning to get more ink done at Yer Cheatin Heart.

My friend recommended this place--specifically Dave Sanchez. He wasn't available so he referred me to Vicky. OMG she was wonderful!! I have 5 other tattoos so I knew what to expect. Vicky was by far the most gentle tattooist I've every had!! She was easy to talk to and made our whole group feel comfortable. I will definitely be coming back to see Vicky!

The shop itself was very clean and very conveniently located for me. They had an ATM in the lobby which is great in case you forget to bring cash.

You only need to know a few things.

    1. The name Jon Hall.
    2. The store phone number, or his number.
    3. What time your appointment is.

If you want great work done that's it. No need to write a long review when it's so simple.

I have had the pleasure of being tattooed by some pretty legit and well known artists (including Juan Puente, Baby Ray and Caleb from Studio City Tattoo). However, after moving to the South Bay I started researching shops in the area and I'm super stoked that I stumbled across "Yer Cheat'n Heart Tattoo." The atmosphere is great, shop is clean and the artists are very welcoming. Even though I'm a sleeved out veteran - I always get annoyed with I see newbies treated poorly when they're trying to navigate there way into the tattoo world. Anyway, I went in to check it out but ended up getting a pretty fat piece on the inside of my left bicep. The artist, Lisa Bee is definitely an up and comer with a lot of talent and I am planning to get more work done by her in the future. Although I never recommend bargain shopping when you're getting ink done but their prices are definitely below market (especially coming from the Studio City / Hollywood) area. So, the next time you're in Gardena - check it out!

I broke my cherry on my 40th birthday and got that tattoo I've been thinking about since college.  This is the place.  My review, I should note, is mostly for Johnny 2/3, the artistic genius who also owns the place, I'm pretty sure.  He's amazing, though from the work I've seen done there and the website there is some other talent there as well.  But Johnny's the man and good luck getting an appointment unless you're a returning client or a referral.  I'm going back for more as soon as my bank account shows black instead of red ink!

I've been wanting a tattoo in what has seemed like forever, but have put it off so many times...

While at work my sidekick starts buzzing like crazy and who could it be?..none other than my buddy eric, who has two awesomely large tattoo pieces, seeing if I wanted to check out this shop. The plan was wednesday, but apparently he was super free yesterday (2/2) and well work was a drag and they were pretty much sending me home early due to the lack of customers...

So i agreed to go since I did my homework all of last week on this shop..looking at their website and their artists work..i meet him up on the sidewalk since it's pretty much street parking and I had my designs. Here I thought i was walking in for a consultation, but as luck would have it one of their best dave sanchez was able to hook me up with a tattoo that day..for me it was now or never..

Can we just say i was scared shitless? But as the buzzing started to go and as he started to carve into my skin it actually sort of felt good? I mean there were times it'd hurt, but Dave's hand is so light that it hurt more in my brain before getting the tattoo then the actual moment.. He finished my piece in an hour and it's sucha beaut!!

I can't stop admiring..so if you guys are ever looking for a place..this is the place to go and dave sanchez is your man..although I heard johnny 2/3, who my friend eric got his piece done from, is really good too..I guess you can't really go wrong. The shop is super clean too. I'm definitely going back to dave to get another piece done once I figure out what to get :]

Across the street from the Hustler Casino...how can you go wrong! There are some really great artists at Yer Cheatin' Heart. I would recommend Johnny 2/3 or Jon Hall to ANYONE looking for a QUALITY tattoo. You can go to the flea market or some ghetto shop and get yourself a piece of shit tattoo for $75 or you can go get an amazing work of art at Yer Cheatin' Heart.

    I prefer the latter....
