Can I give more than five stars? Roger is an all around amazing guy who is committed to doing high quality piercings. I have visited Ancient Adornments twice in the past few months, one time for a double forward helix and the other for second lobe piercings and a tragus jewelry change. Both times Roger has over the top patient, personable, and helpful. For both piercings he took great care to measure the distance between them exactly so everything was symmetrical. He took a lot of time picking out jewelry options with me, trying to find something that fit my aesthetic and price point. During the actual piercing he took time to explain exactly what he was doing. He answered all my silly questions. It felt like we were hanging out rather than I was paying him to pierce me. This week my helix started looking a little iffy, so I sent him a picture asking his advice. He got back to me almost immediately (at 8:30am) with new care instructions. I couldn't ask for better service than that. I would absolutely not get pierced by anyone else. Having such great experiences makes me want to go back and get more!
Review Source:I have to say Roger is Amazing!!! Hands down he knows his stuff and What he is doing! He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed when he did my nose piercing! It was a last minute decision for me to do the piercing, I went with a friend to do his,and right before closing he said, do you want yours done? I can do it right now!
So overall great experience, very clean and sanitary! And to add, I had lost my phone and he was so helpful to let me use his computer to locate it, and WE found it!!
So Roger is the man to go to!!!
I followed the reviews and wasn't disappointed. Great conversation (mostly about our mustaches) and super honest (saved me a bunch of money).
Since BJJ doesn't allow piercings, I went in asking about what my options were. He took the time to answer them and provided great insight into future options as well. I ended up asking him to take them out and he did it gratis (so tried to put down some  tip for his time). That's good service.
Roger is the best, as many others have said. He is very intelligent and thoroughly knowledgable about his craft, but not haughty. Â He is very disarming with his quick wit & friendly demeanor. I have traveled around the sun more than 50 times and may be decades older than most of Roger's clients. The rook piercing he have me was my first piercing ever. I was very apprehensive...let's face it, terrified! But Roger made me feel very comfortable and before I knew it, he was done! He offers excellent follow-up care. I would not recommend anyone else. Even if you're a "mature" person as myself... lol... Roger is YOUR ONLY go to guy in Los Angeles for any kind of piercing. Period.
Review Source:Another Roger follower here!
I have been getting piercings for over 10 years and have been going to Roger for about the past 5 years (when he was @ Prix). My total piercing count is in the 20s & I've lost count of how many Roger has done. He has done many piercings that other places just won't do or don't do nearly as well. I have had MULTIPLE conch piercings in my right ear & instead of simply piercing my ear, he will ask what angle you want the jewelry to sit so that it doesn't look ridiculously crooked afterwards. As someone who had 3 conch piercings that went in a zig-zag, this is something I really appreciated because it showed he cared about the end result. He also did my 3-piece industrial (he might call it something else) that connects my helix & conch. Thanks to his careful measurements, the 3 pieces came together after the 3 piercings healed. I couldn't be happier, except for my anal workplace who said I couldn't have them in! I get the biggest compliments on my single point wrist dermal which is going on strong, with the exception of the times I've snagged it on loose strings & purses.
Roger also has a great selection of jewelry & always has something new every time I visit. He has also custom ordered jewelry for my wrist dermal that I know I would not be able to get anywhere else. Prices are good for the quality of the jewelry; he only carries internally threaded jewelry. If you want the cheap crap, please leave & go to the mall because you won't find it here.
Did I mention he has also done branding and scarrification for me? I don't know if he is doing them as much as he used to, but if you're interested it won't hurt to ask. Just don't walk in expecting him to do it that same day. Like getting a tattoo, it takes time & planning! Last I was there, he also does suspensions in the shop. (Roger, if I'm wrong, correct me!)
Make sure you have plenty of free time in your schedule if you come here. Roger is very thorough in sterilizing jewelry, doing the actual piercings, & discussing proper aftercare, so this is not a quick walk-in & out place. I have spent hours here just hanging out, listening to music and watching crazy movies.
There is not enough I could write to convince you that Roger is the best piercer there is out there. I drive about an hour through the nasty LA freeways to get quality service. Just come by & check it out yourself. It's been a wonderful 5 years of piercings & I still have many piercings planned. Whenever I finally get them done, I'll definitely go back to Roger!
Being new to L.A. I was very stressed out about finding a piercer with whom I could trust, and feel comfortable with, as well as certified, clean, and knowledgeable. Through a client of mine at work, I was told about Roger. I went for my birthday, and had some piercings redone, and a few re-opened. I brought my best friend, who also ended up getting pierced that night. It's been all uphill from there. I am going on a year, and have rediscovered my love for piercings. Roger is so nice, and just really professional. I feel very safe with him, and trust him. He is multiply certified, in many aspects of the piercing art. I love the shoppe, itself, and the entire experience has been pleasurable. He has pierced so many parts of me, as well as my best friend, and honestly, I will not stop going back because he has such great ideas about placements of piercings, that I find myself very excited with my newfound love for my metal adornments.
I highly recommend Ancient Adornments and Roger. His selection of jewelry is always higher quality, and if there is something he doesn't have, he will place an order for you.
He's very thorough with everything, from the sterilization, to explaining every detail to make you feel relaxed, to the aftercare, even telling you what vitamins to take to speed the healing process.
You will definitely love your new piercings, as well as come out of there feeling confident with your decision. I love that he makes the experience feel really special. I will stop getting pierced, when Roger stops piercing, which I hope is never.
Very very very clean plase and Roger is the most honest person in piercing world, i've already pierce my nose and i lost my jewelry. And i didnt buy i new one thenthe hole was closed in few months but when i get in this store Roger said if your hole still open then i'll insert the jwelery only and no need to charge u the piercing and he was right it was open and he was sooooo gentel, difintly i'll go back for belly piercing, wohooo
Review Source:Roger is amazing! He is warm, inviting and funny. He put me immediately at ease, which is saying a lot, as I am afraid of needles. Everyone I met there, both staff and clients, was friendly and interesting.
I like the decor of the place, lots of shiny things to look at, nice jewelry selection. Â The studio was clean, like doctor's office clean, but without the bleached white walls and antiseptic smell. Roger autoclaved everything and changed his gloves several times. He explained every step of the procedure and gave me detailed aftercare instructions. He took the time to measure me carefully to make sure the piercing would be level and the barbell sizes were correct. The piercing itself was quick and I am very happy with the result. He even offered to fix a piercing that another piercer screwed up.
What more can you ask for?
Roger did a great job piercing my nipples! He measured each one precisely so they came out balanced and level with one another (because who wants crooked nipple piercings?). Â He explained the step by step process and went over aftercare thoroughly, and made sure that I had his contact info in case I have any questions during the healing process.
5 stars all around.
Very friendly, welcoming scene. Right when I walked in I was instantly attended to, waited about 10 minutes to get my nose pierced. Got my nose pierced, got good advice how to take care.
I find that quality customer service in this industry is hard to find, but not here. Great Overall experience. If I lived in West Hollywood or LA I would definitely come here again!
I was in LA with my sister; when she blurts out that she wants a piercing. We yelped piercing shops & I came across Ancient Adornments...It already had many good reviews, particularly about the owner Roger. I saw the photos of the daith piercing and suddenly I wanted one! We went in around 10pm, we had to park on the street and were unsure whether we were in the right place or if Roger would even be there...As we walked up Roger warmly opened the door and greeted us as if he was expecting us!
LOOOONG story short... I will NEVER GO TO ANOTHER PIERCING PLACE AGAIN!!! THIS IS THE SPOT!!
Roger is SUUUUPER friendly and cute!
His shop is neat and gothic chic with an array of piercings!
He has a great balance of silly and professionalism. I felt like I had known him for years!
I hadn't gotten a piercing in years but something about his soothing mannerisms made me feel very calm and relaxed.
He's very knowledgeable and was open to any questions and was adamant that we made sure to contact him if we had any questions or complications.
I think I might go back for another piercing soon!!
(I know, not so short but I just wanted to make my point!)
Ps. I thought his prices were VERY reasonable for the service he provided!!
By far the best experiences I've ever had from a piercer have been with Rodger.
Lets start by stating that before finding this holy grail of a shop, I had been to 4 other piercers ( not including the Claire's counter when I was 14 for my ear piercings ). I'd had my neck and lower belly pierced by a woman who used the wrong jewelry thus it rejected and left me with two dark, ugly scars. The guy who pierced my nose couldn't get the jewelry in and then dropped the needle so it had to be pierced 3 times in one day. Â And the other two piercers were okay. Nothing crazy. They had a clean shop, expensive prices, did the piercings and sent me on my way.
I found Ancient Adornments by chance, my local tattoo shop is front of Rodger's store, and a couple guys inside had recommended checking it out.
I called one day and spoke to him on the phone about getting my smiley pierced and he told me to come on in whenever and he'd hook me up.
I came in with a friend of mine the next day and he explained the jewelry sizes and types, how the piercing would sit, how he was going to pierce it and some of the risks( like getting it caught when you brush your teeth). I was a little nervous since I've never had an oral piercing but we chatted the whole time and before I knew it the piercing was in and I hadn't realized.
He explains all the aftercare for every piercing no matter how many you have and gives you his cell number if you have any questions about healing or just in general.
Since then, I've come in for dermals, and a few other small piercings and each time has been a relaxing, fun experience. Rodger clearly knows what he's been doing, he doesn't charge you and arm and a leg, and he's honestly one of the coolest guys.
I highly recommend coming in and talking to him and getting some amazing, clean, and fun piercings.
ROGER is f****** awesome! I came in without an appointment last Monday to get both my nipples done. I've been to a few places & have had about 6 piercings prior to this one.. But this by far was the best experience I've ever had! He was very informative about the whole procedure & made me feel super comfortable.. it almost felt like I've known him forever. He's got a good sense of humor & everything, I mean EVERYTHING is clean & sanitary. He makes sure to answer all your questions before piercing anything. The price was pretty reasonable. The piercing itself was about $55 but I also had to pay for 2 nipple bars which were $25 each. (BTW, their jewelry are all amazing but also pretty pricey.) Must I mention, this place is also an instructional studio (The course is basically for those who are interested in learning the art of tissue manipulation & body piercing) This guy is definitely a professional & has perfect skill in doing what he does best. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GET ANYTHING PIERCED! Babies, kids, adults.. anyone!
Review Source:I've been going to Roger to for piercings for about ten years now and he's the only person I'd trust. He's done several ear, face, surface, and nipple piercings on me; I followed him from Prix with good reason, the man's a freaking genius. Plus he makes sure you always feel comfortable and are happy with his work. He's jovial but he gets the job done. His knowledge on the subject of adornments, jewelry, and aesthetics are limitless. Â He may be expensive to some but he's worth EVERY penny! Reviewing him is making me want another piercing...
Review Source:Driving through WeHo I get a impulsive thought : I want to get my tragus pierced.
I remember seeing Ancient Adornments extensive jewelry collection on their instagram so I knew I would be able to find something I liked there. Roger was the coolest and an absolute pro.
The whole process was virtually painless, especially chit chatting with Roger, I was done before I knew it. There was a girl in the waiting room that warned me to stock up on advil because her ear and throat hurt the next week after getting the same piercing, but I think because of Roger's gentle touch, I did not experience any pain or swelling.
I'll definitley be coming back here for my next piercing. The price was completely reasonable and Roger could calm any nerves you may have about the whole experience.
I got my nose pierced here and must say that I loved it. The experience was great and Roger is extremely knowledge. I got the best info from him and he made me feel completely at ease. He definitely knows his stuff, I mean, they do suspension in there!! He is definitely someone I would recommend, he knows what he is doing and the place is spotless. The store has a great selection of jewelry, I actually had to go back when I took my earring out and lost it. The place is meticulously organized and everything about the shop is welcoming. The pricing was a bit high for a nose ring but I was happy to shell out the money for someone so experienced.
Review Source:I've been extremely impressed with Ancient Adornments. Roger is extremely knowledgeable, patient and skilled. He has a great eye for piercings - how they work together - I've been really impressed when I've looked through other pictures of his work. He has been helping me nurse a tragus piercing that has been problematic for a few months. I've found him to be much more interested in what makes sense for me as a client rather than what is the most expensive option. There is a good selection of jewelry - if you want something in particular as far as I know he can order it for you. Be careful not to go to another place on Yelp with a lot of great reviews about Roger - he isn't there any more. Go here - highly, highly recommended.
Review Source:Roger does baby piercing! I was so excited to find someone on yelp. I didn't want some inexperienced young girl at the mall like everyone else. Boy am I glad. Roger explained the process which made me feel a whole lot better about him using a needle vs. a gun and he was right! So don't freak out, baby was totally fine after about 2 mins. As a matter of fact my ten year old who got her ears pierced on the same day said "Roger is AWESOME!"
Review Source:Roger is awesome! Great sense of humor, very professional, and what a clean and inviting place. The studio is private and the jewelry is beautiful! You don't see this stuff everywhere. He is very informative. I won't go anywhere else now. And talk about quick!! Thank you Roger and Ancient Adornments! I love my new treasure.
Review Source:DOPE!!!
I came here to get my ears pierced randomly around 9pm one day. I have never gotten my ears pierced so I'm not a professional critic when it comes to this but my experience here with roger was perfect. He was super friendly informative and spent about 10 minutes just measuring the placement of my ear piercing which I have no problem with since I can be a bit of a perfectionist.
Like I said before, I had an awesome experience here.
Ask for Roger
I have been to many piercers and tattoo shops in my life, and I can say this is the best experience I've ever had. And I didn't even get anything pierced! I came in for a dermal removal after mine started to shift and reject almost a year after getting it done. I was super nervous as the idea of ripping a little metal anchor out of my face did not sound fun.
Since the initial phone call I could tell Roger was not just a dude with a few health courses and a needle... He was very professional, and takes pride in every customer. He returned my initial call within 20 minutes, and explained the process over the phone with me, making me feel very at ease.
The actual process was very easy and very quick. Roger was knowledgeable and friendly, and even told me a bit about his history with dermal piercings, and how he actually trained other piercers on how to do these back before they became very popular. Honestly the removal itself didn't hurt, but unfortunately my piercing had become infected, and Roger took extra time and precaution to make sure all the crap was out of there. This part hurt a bit, but I definitely appreciate him taking the time to endure it healed heathy and correctly.
Really all I can say is that you can absolutely tell when an artist loves their trade, and I definitely experienced that with Roger. He isn't just a piercer working out of a tattoo shop, he is an industry professional and a good businessman. I can't recommend this shop enough, and I will absolutely be going back for any more piercings in my future.
Amazing. Â I had been wanting to get a dermal on my wrist and happened to be grabbing a slice of pizza next door when I noticed Ancient Adornments next door. Â I went in just to ask questions and ended up getting it done there. Â The piercing is amazing and Roger took great care of me and explained everything to me in detail. Â Will be going back there for sure.
Review Source:i finally got to visit Roger Rabbits Ancient Adornments, it is a beautiful shop! the display cases are filled with only the finest jewelry, wonderful selection, there is something for everyone. his piercing stations are immaculate and comfortable. As someone who is in the piercing industry herself, i am more than thrilled to send my own clients to Roger if there is something i do not have,or if i would like another professional opinion. I have nothing but respect for Roger, and suggest you stop on by to see him!
Review Source:We did an early V-day celebration and I wanted another piercing after we ate at The Stinking Roses. We Yelped and decided to stop on by to check out the store. Â It first looked closed but I had my bf call the store and Roger greeted us. He showed and informed me on the variety of jewelries to the piercing procedure. Â Roger is professional and yet, very down to earth. The piercing room is clean and all the tool and jewelry are throughly cleansed. Â He made me feel at ease and walked me through the steps of the piercing process which, helped my nerves. At the end, he didn't just let us walked out without letting us know that if I have any questions or concern then please do not hesitate to contact him. Â I would definitely buy or get pierced here again. A plus side, is he isn't trying to sell you things that is out of your budget and I admire that.
Review Source:Roger Rabb!t is the master of his trade and goes above and beyond to achieve customer satisfaction. The studio is gorgeous and Roger makes you feel special and comfortable and gives you extra care tips and tricks to maintain your special body art and jewelry. He is the only one I trust with piercing my body and the only one I refer to friends and family.
Review Source:Ok, I went with my BFF to get her nose pierced and let me tell you, if  I do decide to tattoo myself, this would be the place. It was VERY clean and sanitary. I loved how Roger Rabbit...(yes, you read that correctly), Roger Rabbit, took great pride in sanitizing everything, even changing gloves which were color coded for different procedures.  He appeared to be very gentle with the bestie, and I enjoyed being there. The leather seating was comfortable and this place has a great feel to it. The experience certainly inched me closer to even thinking about getting tattooed. Very nice place.
Review Source:Roger is definitely a one of a kind person. I went in a few days ago in search of cool jewelry for my piercings. I'm soooo glad I came across Ancient Adornments. Roger looves to teach and I love to learn and ask questions so it was amazing. I ended up buying some neometal earrings, since nowhere else carries high quality regular earrings anymore. Roger also anodized my industrial barbell to a lighter color to compliment my features. Thank you soooo much. I will definitely be back in for more goodies soon
Review Source:Amazing experience! Â Roger the owner ROCKS! Â I went to Ancient Adornments to get a nose piercing on 1.5.2013 and had the most awesome experience. Â First, I was greeted by Roger and engaged in cool conversation with him (he totally loves the 80's!)--after our conversation, he'd given me, in detail, information on follow-up care and the nose piercing process--the venue is great!--Roger practices top notch safety (...I should know, I work for the Department of Public Health)--so no worries there! Â When it was time for the piercing--he stated that all I would feel was a pinch--let me tell you, Roger is so incredibly skilled at his craft, I did not feel a thing...not even a pinch! Â I absolutely love my piercing--If you are interested in any type of body piercing, I highly recommend Roger and Ancient Adornments--he's the best and his practices are top notch! Â I am so pleased with my experience that when my daughter turns 7, she will have her ears pierced by Roger.
Review Source:Had a really great experience at Ancient Adornments. Â Roger Rabbit was awesome and made the whole process smooth and easy. Â We went to get a cartilage piercing for my daughter (bringing a minor? Â make sure you have a school ID or birth certificate for them) and Roger explained what would be happening every step of the way, he gave her breathing tips (which worked - she said it hurt for "less than a second") and really good aftercare advice.
This shop has beautiful jewelry and a great, mellow vibe. Â Roger is a true professional and I felt very comfortable with him. Â Overall, I know we will be back again and again for all our piercing/body adornment needs!
This Christmas, I finally gathered my courage and cash to come to Roger Rabbit for a 14K gold heart daith piercing exclusively made by BVLA. If any of you ever want to get a daith heart, see Roger Rabbit. He's the man who created this design for his lovely wife. Since then, others have attempted to recreate his work of art, but none ever excelled beyond him, of course. He's the best. I love this place. The problem now is, what should I get pierced next?
Review Source:My husband and I went to Ancient Adornments tonight to get new nose rings. His broke from wear (Hadn't changed it in about 12 years) and mine was just a cheap one that I put in because the one that the guy (In Connecticut) used to pierce my nose was WAY too big and would snag on everything!
There's a reason that the reviews for this place are all 5 stars! Ancient Adornments is incredible and you'd be a cotton-headed ninny-muggins not to pay this shop a visit! No...they don't do tattoos. What is that saying???...Jack of all trades is a master in none...This man clearly knows his shit!
From the moment we walked up to the shop, I knew that I was going to like this place. Roger was sitting outside and the first thing I saw was his badass mustache and his tattoos! My kinda guy! ;-) He welcomed us in and we got right to work!
Roger was really helpful. Walking us through the different kinds of nose rings, he told us all about the different styles and what "normal" piercers do to cut corners, save money, etc. Roger really seems to care about his customers and seems be very sincere in his attempt to please each and every person who steps foot into his shop.
I was fairly easy to please...I knew right away what kind I wanted. My husband took a bit more time choosing the design and color of his new nose ring. While my husband was looking over the styles, Roger was very patient with him and answered any and all questions that he had. While we were waiting for my dear husband to decide, he was joking around with me and showing me MORE designs further complicating my origional choice. Haha! It was so refreshing to work with someone who wasn't trying to rush me out the door. He was showing me MORE than I was asking for. He even took the time to explain to me how the different colors of the stones would play off of my skin color.
Once it was time for the fitting, the procedure was VERY clean. All of his tools were sterile and the room smelled clean and one could probably eat nachos off of the floor (I mean, if that's your thing) I had a nice laugh in the chair when he remarked that I was sitting low rider. (I was trying to make my nostril easier for him to see, but I guess I made it worse for him! Sorry Roger!) He's a funny little devil, that's for sure.
My husband and I really loved our experience at Ancient Adornments...so much that after we left, we realized that between the two of us, we tipped him almost $40. And we didn't care!
We will DEFINITELY go back! And if you're looking for the best piercer/custom nose ring/ etc etc etc. in Southern California...you'll find him at Ancient Adornments!
Amazing! Finally got my nipple pierced after wanting it for a few months but being freaked out from reading about the pain. Roger was incredible so knowledgable and calm. Really knew what he was doing and talking about. Took me step by step on everything he was doing and made me very comfortable. The piercing was quick he helps you pace your breathing and it's over before you know it. Beautiful jewelry I also got a belly ring that was fit for me. Great assortment of jewelry and great quality. Would definitely recommend getting pierced here and will be back. Really simple care instructions and takes time to explain everything and for a follow up visit to check on things. Knows what he is doing and cares about the client!!
Review Source:I wouldn't go anywhere else in L.A. Â Trust me when I say that Roger knows exactly what he's doing. Â These guys couldn't have been nicer. Â When I had a problem with a piercing that I got out of town I was helped above and beyond my expectations. Â Clean, super professional and willing to help you in any way they can. Â Please go here if you're getting pierced you couldn't be in better hands.
Review Source:Roger is fantastic, my friend was learning to pierce from him and invited me in to get the industrial ive wanted for a while. When i was there, another girl was learning to pierce as well so roger came out and convinced me to get 2 piercings that day. Everything went smoothly as he stood guard making sure it did as well as making the process completly amusing. Afterwards i have to hand it to him to put up with my paranoia of calling him once a week to be doubley sure everything was on track. I wish i lived closer so i could come back often for more piercings.
Review Source:I'll start with the bottom line: I had a stellar experience at Ancient Adornments. Â
After deciding that I really was going to get a PA, it was clear that I was not willing to trust a genital piercing to just anyone.  Since Los Angeles  is pretty much the birthplace of body piercing, I figured it would be a good place to start looking for a capable piercer.  Luckily, my brother still lived there, whilst I had moved far, far away many moons ago.  I read everything I could find on the history of body piercing, folks currently in the game and the APP, of which Roger at Ancient Adornments is a member.  Seemed like his name just kept coming up.  So I schemed up a visit to the City of Angels and paid him a visit.
What I really appreciated about the experience was the time that Roger took with me (and the other customers). Â I showed up as as walk-in and he was talking to another customer when I arrived. Â He acknowledged me when I came in, but took the time that he needed uninterrupted to finish working with the other customer. Â Then he took care of me just the same. Â He was unhurried after my piercing in his aftercare instruction and answering of my questions, even when someone else came in and was waiting. Â This is true caring customer service.
As described in other reviews, he was very thorough in his descriptions of what to expect before, during and after. Â His true mastery of the art shined when he found that the plastic needle guide normally inserted into the urethra did not fit. Â Without hesitation, he confidently freehanded the needle in and completed the piercing. Â A work of art.
Roger encouraged me to email him with updates as to how my piercing was doing. Â When I did email him, he responded within minutes with a thoughtful answer and more encouragement to email him further updates. Â In summation, superb customer service, expert piecing knowledge, elite technique. Â Five stars.
This is the second time I've gone to Roger for a piercing, and both times I left feeling self-assured and comfortable with the piercing I just received. Â The first time I went to see Roger, I went in to get my nipples re-pierced. Â I had taken out the original piercings months ago because I was dissatisfied with them, but when I went in, seeing all his credentials on the wall assured me I was at the right place for a clean (very, very sanitary place!!!), well done piercing. Â Sure enough, a year later, I'm still pleased with them.
Yesterday's visit is the one I'm reviewing about, though. Â I went in to get another piercing, and was extremely nervous. Â I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted, but Roger explained to me the ups and downs of each piercing, what was needed for them, and the general use. Â Talking to him helped relieve some of the anxiety I was having about it. Â We went in, he changed gloves three to four times (Told ya, very, very, clean!!) during prep and finally the pierce. Â He takes pride in his work, and will make sure the markings are straight and that where he's piercing really is on the marks. Â He is also very clear about the after-care, willing to answer any questions, and is always available if you have any questions.
Its worth seeing Roger for getting anything pierced first. Â Its hard to put a price on the quality Roger provides!! Â He puts you above anything else! Â If I get another piercing (I have no doubt that I will eventually), I will definitely go to Roger to get it done! Â I won't go anywhere else.
Plus, that heart cartilage piercing looks awesome. Â I may get one some day.
I found Ancient Adornments and Roger through Yelp, and once again, I found a winner! Roger is beyond professional, so approachable, easy to talk to and has knowledge for days! He talked me through everything, helped me select my piercing, my jewelry and even helped me use jewelry for a new piercing that I had brought in from a previous piercing experience in New York. The best part? My piercings are absolutely perfect! Roger truly has an artistic eye for balance and beauty in piercings and I'm just beyond happy. I would never go anywhere else! Already planning my next piercing!
Review Source:Roger Rabbit is now and will forever be my go to piercing guru. He did some work for me a few months ago (reopened an industrial and tragus that had closed and pierced my nose) and it was the best piercing experience I have ever had, the environment was beyond clean, he was friendly and informative. I am currently abroad and having trouble with my nipple piercings. Not only did Roger answer my questions about a piercing he didn't even do, he gave me advice and found me a place in my current city I could go to to fix the problem all within 24 hours. HE IS AMAZING!!!! I cannot wait until I am back in LA so that I can see him to get some more work done. If you live anywhere near his new place I would not hesitate to go there for ALL of your piercing/mod needs. THANKS ROGER!!!
Review Source:I had Roger pierce my third eye (vertical bridge) for me as a birthday present to myself this year (two months later and it's doing great). Never have I been so pleased with a piercing experience.. and let me tell you, Ancient Adornments provides a COMPLETE piercing experience. From the care taken in decorating the shop beautifully to positioning autoclaves in the customer's line of sight. Roger and Matt are kind, caring and totally in tune with their business. Take your time to look through jewelry, plan out a custom piece of jewelry, ask questions about anything that sparks your curiosity and get comfy! They only carry awesome jewelry, and you don't want anything less than the best in your piercings if you want them to last. You won't ever be rushed or talked down to here, or stared at like you're a complete idiot for asking questions. You know a good shop when you experience one, and you shouldn't let it slip away... I've found mine!
Review Source:Went here for my Inner Labia piercing, 3 in total, healed up perfectly! From the moment I stepped in I knew I was home, great energy and the staff knew exactly what they were doing. I drove over an hour to come to Ancient Adornments and I won't go anywhere else. (Coming from Placentia, Orange County.) I can't wait to get more piercings from these guys and eventually do the suspension, so cool!
Review Source:No appointment needed... Â I actually thought they were located in the tattoo shop which has its store front on Santa Monica Blvd, but the shop is located in the rear mini parking lot (which is almost always full). Â The shop is incredibly cool & welcoming. Â Matt was amazing with finding out exactly what I wanted and helping me to decide on jewelry. Â I had no appointment & only waited about 10 minutes before the person ahead of me to be done. Â Matt meticulously explained each and every step of the way and was AWESOME about sanitation (I think he changed gloves something like 4 or 5 times). Â He said he'd make my nostril piercing look like it's always been there and by golly gee wiz did he ever. Â Except for people finding this review, no one's noticed and it's been over a week lol. Â Thanks to you, Matt, I've realized just how many damn times I almost want to touch my face on a daily basis. Awesome, awesome, awesome customer service.
Review Source:First I must say, ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! :D
I saw this place on yelp after a couple weeks of pondering whether or not to get a septum piercing. I trusted my fellow yelpers and visited Ancient Adornments with a friend.
The location can be a bit confusing because it's in a small plaza. I called and Matt kindly directly me to the back of the plaza where the store was located. I was lucky enough to find a parking space, there are possibly around 10 spaces.
The store was very well decorated with minimal furnishings and extremely clean. Right when you walk in, you can see all the different jewelry they have for sell. My friend and I were immediately drawn to them as Matt kindly greeted us.
I don't know what came over me, but I got extremely nervous and skeptical about the piercing. I confessed my fear to Matt and he nicely put me at ease. Roger let us see his portfolio as well. Â
After talking to Matt and Roger for a bit about everything from the septum procedure to private suspensions they hold, I was really comfortable with Matt doing the procedure.
He was so informative, and he talked me through every step. Talk about thorough! This was a great plus for my friend, and especially me because we like to ask a lot of specific questions.
The private room for the piercing was SUPER clean. It reminded me of a mix between a dentist's office and doctor's room. I don't know about you, but that was GREAT for me. Matt did the piercing while Roger sat down with my friend and chat with us until I finished.
Ultimately, I walked out happy, well informed and with a new piercing. Also, their service doesn't end at the door, Matt encouraged me to call, text, or email him about any problems or questions, which I did recently via text and he promptly replied.
They're the only piercing-only store in LA, which is what I believe Matt told me.
These guys are AMAZING and know what the they're doing.
MUST GO IF YOU WANT YOUR PIERCING DONE RIGHT period.
This is my first time writing a review if that says anything about my experience here.
When I decided I wanted to try suspension I took my time finding the right place for it, talking to several groups scattered throughout central and southern California. After many emails a few phone conversations with Roger I felt that this was the right place since 1) they do private suspensions - no line of people waiting to go up after you, no audience to impress or make a spectacle of things, and they specialize in beginners. 2) Roger was able to answer all my questions, thoroughly, without making me feel stupid, and encouraging me to ask more. And there was absolutely none of the attitude or skepticism I'd gotten from other "professionals" Â as a result of not being tattooed or visibly pierced. 3) they do suspensions in the emptied-out lobby space of the studio, so it's easy to keep everything clean and controlled. And 4), I was pierced by Roger a couple years ago and, like many of the reviewers on here, was very impressed by the effort put in to make sure things are done right.
Now, I made the mistake of having a nice long drive - alone, through rush hour traffic - to work up plenty of nerves, but after hanging out for a bit with Roger, Matt, and the rest of the crew (sorry, bad with names) I felt completely at ease. They were all really friendly, funny, and obviously passionate about what they do. They took the time to make sure I had eaten well, answered more of my questions, and let me play my own music over the studio's stereo.
The whole evening was set aside for me so I never once felt rushed and everything was done only when I said I was ready. They explained everything as it came, giving me an idea of what to expect, and generally just keeping me comfortable and checking that I was doing ok. Most importantly, these guys really know their stuff and have all the right equipment, which is something you definitely don't want to skimp on when it comes to suspending. Plus, when you can trust the people putting you up that leaves you free to relax and get the most out of it.
Four days later and I'm left with four tiny scabs across my back and a trove of memories of an incredible experience I won't soon forget and will probably try again some day. Roger and Matt went above all my expectations and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a mellow, supportive environment to do their first suspension (or tenth for that matter).
Roger Rabbit is GREAT~
As a mom I was concerned about my 15 1/2 year old getting her ear/Tragus pierced.
He is professional , clean, dedicated to educating you on the procdedure.
Really trustworthy and just a nice guy.
We left feeling great, her ear looks great and she is sooooooooooooo
HAPPY~
This place gets 5 stars in every way. Came here to get my ears pierced tonight and was a little nervous. Roger put me at ease, had me giggling and smiling the entire time! He was very professional and informative, and described everything he was doing as he was doing it. Â The place is super clean, and it has a really cool vibe. Â I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone!
Review Source:My family was visiting from out of town and my mother asked if I could  take my 14 year old sister to get her ears pierced. I knew this was THE place to take her from previous experiences with Roger. He did my VCH a couple years ago when he was at Prix and also helped me pick out a high quality barbell for my tongue when I swallowed my cheap original jewelry.
Roger wasn't there when we showed up with my sister so Matt was the one who did my sister's ear piercings and he was really great! He helped her pick out her jewelry and walked her through the entire procedure. My mom was really worried my sister would be afraid, but Matt totally put her at ease with fun conversation throughout the whole process.
This shop is totally clean, has great customer service, and very knowledgable piercers! I highly recommend!
I've been to a lot of different places for all the piercings I have had over the years.
Bar none, Roger, Matt, and the shop are the best piercing experience I have had.
You don't really want to mess around when choosing a piercer and shop - especially if you are going for the more specialized piercings. I did my research and found great reviews on Roger.
Roger was patient, knowledgeable, honest, and funny. Matt and Roger made me feel at ease and not like an idiot when I asked a bazillion questions. I left totally comfortable with my piercing and the decisions I made.
I'm so pleased with my experience that I'm almost ready to go back for another!
Holy Hell!!
Alrighty, so let me start off by saying that Mr. Roger Rabb!t is a fucken bad ass! I had been wanting a nostril piercing for a while now and I finally decided to stop being a wuss about it and to just go for it.
I first did my research and found Roger on a lot of Yelp reviews. I went ahead and emailed him and in less than 30 min, he had already replied. So that itself made me feel good about having him pierce me.
When I walked in I was pretty darn nervous. After picking my jewelry out with the help of both Matt & Roger and signing some papers, I was beginning to feel a little more at ease. The shop is just awesome and Roger is like the cherry on top! He was very helpful, cool on calming me down and making me feel comfortable. I loved how the shop smelled clean and how he conversed with me while he got everything ready. I swear, I barely even felt anything!! I LOVE how my piercing turned out. Homeboy knows what's up!
All in all...Go to Roger for your piercing needs :) He is freaking awesome!!
Me and my boyfriend came here for some mods and had an amazing time! Â Roger is such a funny and knowledgeable person. Â I did a lot of research and he was by far the number one most recommended. I got 4 outer labias im a wimp about pain he was so kind and patient. My bf got some genital beads they are great. Roger emailed regularly to check how we were healing and was always fast responding when we had questions. I cant recommend roger enough his work is so great. We will definitly be going back.
Review Source:Came to Roger Rabbit because of his glowing reviews on Yelp.
Decided to have my nose re-pierced, and I'm so happy that I found this place! Roger was extremely patient and helpful as I picked out my jewelry, and made me feel comfortable.
He explained the process to me in detail, helped me understand the difference in the pierce to wear a stud vs. a ring in my nose.
I've had many piercings before, and have never been tended to with such professionalism. Deciding to mark your body is not a flippant choice, and should be done under the utmost care.
As for the shop, it's clean, minimal, and spacious. I will refer everyone I know to Ancient Adornments, and will seek Roger Rabbit for all my future piercings.
After a ton of research trying to find the best piercer around I decided on Roger Rabb!t at Ancient Adornments. His recommendations were glowing all over the internet. I noticed on Elayne Angels site he is one of the very few piercers she recommends in CA. If you look at the yelp reviews of the previous studio he was at (Prix) they were all about Roger, and all brilliant.
So, naturally, I followed *HIM* to his new studio in West Hollywood. Roger was ridiculously helpful, walking me through every step of the jewelry, piercing and aftercare. His demeanor was welcoming and genuinely friendly. He is a swell dude that knows his shit.
I appreciate that Ancient Adornments focuses on piercings only so you know you can't go wrong. Add the fact that Roger is *highly-experienced* and teaches piercing, so it was kind of a no-brainer. The shop was cool, laid-back and clean. And seriously, they know how to make a girl feel comfortable.
If you are looking for a piercing shop look no further. I'd recommend them 100% and will be back. Now seriously, go get yourself some more holes at Ancient Adornments.
There is a reason why this shop specializes in piercings and piercings alone (unless you wanted to learn how to pierce, that is); they are the best!! I recently went to another  shop thinking that Roger "Rabbit" was still there, and sadly, he wasn't! Therefore, I decided to stalk him online and find out where he went, and I found his newly opened shop. I was ecstatic! I have read countless, outstanding reviews about Roger all over the internet, and he is one of the only piercers in LA that is certified by the Association of Professional Piercers.
When I walked into Ancient Adornments, I was definitely not let down. Not only did he meet and surpass all the hype, but there was another piercer named Matt who was just as amazing!! TWO professional but friendly, patient, attentive, caring piercers in a clean, decorative, mellow shop? What more can you ask for? After finding Roger and Matt, I will never let any other piercer come near my body with a needle. You cannot go wrong with Ancient Adornments. Prices are competitive and reasonable, shop is clean and spacious, and most importantly, the piercers know their shit.
Roger has a brand new place in West Hollywood. He has really cool jewelry on display and lots of pictures of different kinds of piercing that he does. He is very professional and uses a very sterile technique in his piercing that impressed me. He also makers you ear before piercing and always double checks his work before piercing you. Â I would absolutely recommend Roger to my friends.
Review Source:So I decided I didn't have enough holes in my head, so off to WeHo it was.
I am a firm believer in the truism that Jack of all Trades is master of none. Â So when I want a piercing I go to a piercing specialist. Â Not a tattoo studio that does piercing as well [not to say there aren't some amazing piercers at tat studios--I just like a place piercing is their primary focus], and not (god forbid) a mall kiosk with teenagers wielding piercing guns for minimum wage. Â
Nothing too sporty for me--just a pretty little helix bar.  Matt  was fantastic.  I don't think I was terribly articulate in describing my desired placement, but he was quickly able to translate my mutterings into exactly what I was picturing.  After the jewelry was in, it was even better than I had hoped.  Matt has an artist's eye for getting all the angles just right.
As everyone else has mentioned, the atmosphere is great. Â I'm a pretty vanilla girl. Â I'm in my mid-30s. Â I work in an office. Â I have a 401(k). Â But I felt like I belonged.
I'll be back.
Rodger and Matt are AMAZING!!!!!! I went to their shop b/c i had to get my nose ring removed b/c i was having a MRI. Background story I got my nose pierced almost ten years ago during a trip to Mexico. Come to find out the way the guy in Mexico pierced my nose was totally wrong in addition to bending the jewelry I wasn't able to take it out. I really didn't need to take it out until yesterday long story short both Rodger and Matt took there time to take out the piercing properly and gently!!! (I'm a wuss when it come to any kind of pain) these guys are so awesome! Did I also mention they didn't even charge me!!!! Then too top it off I went back after my MRI and the guys put my piercing back in which was super complicated (due to the screw up of the original guy in Mexico) they had sooo much patience and were soooo nice!! i told them I wish i wanted more piercings b/c they would def have my business again!!! I 110% recommend these guys you will definitely be getting phenomenal service!!!! I promise you will NOT regret it at all!!!!
Review Source:After leaving a piercing shop off of sunset strip due to over-priced and unwelcoming people, my friend and I went to our favorite health smoothie spot off of santa monica blvd, then decided to take a little stroll. We came across Ancient Adornments, and were going in to just check out the jewelry.
After talking to two funny, nice, knowledgeable guys that were running the shop that day, I inquired about getting my septum pierced. Â I was a pretty nervous, but Roger walked me through EVERY single step it would take, and made me feel comfortable and really trust what he was doing. Plus, he is an instructor - which made me feel pretty safe.
Not only was the service impeccable, but the shop was SUPER CLEAN! .....and i'm seriously OCD when it comes to cleanliness.
All in all, my septum piercing was virtually painless and i didnt even realize that the piercing was over. Â
I thought that i may have issues sleeping, taking showers, working out, yada yada, but now i realize that i worried about all of that for nothing.
i can flip my ring up and down, and i just put it up when i sleep, and cannot feel a thing. As far as cleaning goes, all i have to do is put a little bit of soap and water in my hand and blow bubbles through my nose :) I have had zero problems with it healing, and it has never even bled.
i would definitely recommend going there for any type of piercing that you would want, they are amazing!!! oh yes, and their price points are spot on too!
thank you guys, you were great and have a great sense of humor as well!
xx
After coming with my girlfriend to see her get her ears pierced and pretty much be company this past Wednesday (3/28). It was actually the first time I had met Roger and Matt. They perked my interest real fast to interact and ask questions. First off, the shop, great atmosphere, friendly, cozy place. Parking it a bit of an issue, but if you go early (which I recommend) you might be able to snag a spot. If not, change is always nice to carry for the meters. I think the first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the glass marker board thing. There was drawings of Roger and Matt in there and at the time when I had not met them yet, I found it very amusing and had to do a double take when I actually met them (should of took a picture. damn it). There's a bench to sit inside and outside, and you'll see their front desk (where Matt likes to look pretty at =3 and where Roger or Matt helps you out.).. and a few assortments of decorations and jewelry cases.
During the time that I was there with my GF, I watched how professional Roger was during the process of piercing her ear. Making her feel as comfortable as she should and guiding her through the process. Though she was somewhat nervous, she came out just perfectly fine. No bleeding whatsoever. I guess it was probably right then and there when I went, "Let's see what I can get done." I guess my real first impression was Roger is very professional, honest, and knows what he's doing. If you want to get a professional done, you mind as well come to the best in town and Roger is a great candidate in that specialist field in piercing.
Anyways, I had wanted to get industrials awhile back but hadn't find the time to get one nor figured out who I would want to get it from, seeing how I have already had 3 piercings on each side of my ears (6 total). I came back just yesterday (3/31/2012), alone, after sending Roger a few emails concerning about what I wanted to get. Technically I was suppose to get a helix piercing done but somehow I just didn't, maybe later on when I come back. When I said spontaneous, I wasn't kidding. So why not? I ended up getting a VCH piercing just for the gist of it and through curiosity. I did a bit of research before sending my email to Roger though, and my main concern after emailing Roger was that if I was a good enough "candidate" for it. Â I had done what he instructed via email to test if I was but when I did, I was not sure, cause it seem very short to me. I came in and had him check for me instead.
Ladies, just be comfortable, especially if you decide to go to Roger for something such as a VCH piercing. I know that my boyfriend was a bit uncomfortable with my decision going to a male piercer, but he  trusts my decision in doing so. Think about it..... I kid you not, ask yourself this question, "Are there many female piercers?" "Are they professional enough to do so?" "Do you want a professional/specialist to do it or someone who is just female?" My biggest concern was finding someone who can do the job perfectly and was knowledgable. It also helps that Roger wants to keep in contact with you, even after you got your piercings. It means he CARES to see that his professional work did not do damage to his client. It's a beautiful way to establish a connection to someone, especially when you're in a career you love to do and you see that your customers are happy. I highly respect Roger with the way he goes about in his professionalism, and at the same time he will respect you as his customer. He also encourages couples to come in together if the boyfriend is not comfortable with having a male piercer do anything personal.
It was just me and Roger, just between a client and a specialist. What more can you ask? Anyways, Roger was very gentle checking if I was suited for the VCH piercing. I did not feel uncomfortable or whatsoever, Â because I knew that I could trust him to do what he is good at doing. After he said I was good for it, I just went for it. During the process, Roger was instructive and guided me through the process. He tells me what he is doing and shows me how it'll work and so forth. It actually didn't take too long after the measurements and sterilizing. Just a quick pain, but nevertheless everything well. I finished up and came out, paid for the process/soap/jewelry and even put tip to total it out to $160.02. I'm not sure if that is pricey in the eyes of many but I think that it is fair, especially for someone who is professional.
I didn't actually leave after my piercing (put too much money in the meter =.=) But I had a wonderful time hanging out with Roger and Matt. It was a nice, yet strange, weather but we just sat outside the shop and chatted and had slurpee =3 Roger offered to pay for mine, but I didn't let him. Before I left though. HUGS! =3 Haha can't leave without one! I had an enjoyable day with Roger and Matt, since they made time for me, especially me being busy.
P.S. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MATT =3
I can in on Wednesday to finally get my custom industrial (conch-to-helix) done. Roger made sure that everything was perfect before piercing. I am super happy with how it came out and I'm waiting for it to fully heal, so I can get other bars done. I can't wait to go back.
TOTALLY RECOMMEND GIVING THESE GUYS A TRY! YOU WON'T REGRET IT, I PROMISE :D
Roger is awesome! I was recommended by a friend. I just got my tragus pierced. It came out great! He's great with consulations as mentioned before. Roger makes sure your piercings are perfectly placed which was nice because I hate where my ear lobe piercings are and I might go back to get those fixed by him. So far no irritations and no pain.
Review Source:I am ecstatic about my new piercing!!
I found Roger through Elayne Angel, Author of the "Piercing Bible" (on her referral page). I made an appointment with him to get my VCH pierced.
Roger is kind and super professional. We communicated mostly through email (my personal preference). He always got back to me when I wrote him with any questions or requests. Â He encourages you to email him with any questions you may have about your new piercing. I found that very reassuring.
It's been about a week or so and the piercing looks and feels great. I wouldn't trust anyone else to pierce my lady parts. Roger is the ONE and ONLY piercer that I would ever allow to pierce me.
Roger is the Best.
Yay, my first review!
Anyways, what can I say? I love Roger!!
I'd first come across Roger a few years ago when I had an emergency late one night where the gem on my tragus piercing had somehow gotten lost. I'd jammed a hoop through and zoomed on over to see him. He was super professional and wonderful back then and I decided that, if I ever got anything else done, I'd definitely go back to him.
A few months ago, when I got an itch for some new piercings I decided I wanted to go back and have him do them, and visited him (back when he was still at Prix). The piercings came out perfect, and I haven't had any problems with them whatsoever.
And, here I am again.
I once again wanted some new metal and it looks like Roger had JUST (like, last week just) opened up his own piercing studio with Matt (the other co-owner. Â Didn't interact with him too much, but he seems wonderful as well). I set up an appointment and this time I brought along a couple of friends with me who also wanted stuff done.
Roger was patient with us all and let us take our time figuring out jewelry and placement and all of that. He's personable and knowledgeable about his craft and I always feel comfortable and confident about his choices. Also, if you're not suited for something, he'll let you know and won't just stab you to make a few bucks.
He's not the cheapest around, but the quality of jewelry and care you get (and his sass!) are well worth the extra couple of bucks. I mean, if you're going to have someone stabbing you, you want it done right...RIGHT?!
All in all, I've had nothing but wonderful experiences, and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get a piercing, especially first timers. He'll make you feel comfortable, and explain everything in detail as to what he's doing, why and how to care for it afterwards! He's got certificates for everything, single points, genitals, suspension, scarification, and blood borne pathogens, among others. He's also taken EMT classes, so he knows his stuff regarding keeping his clients safe :)
Oh yeah, and this place is going to be a piercer training studio as well! How cool is that?
