I absolutely love this place. every time I walk away from it i get so many compliments on my hair cut:) Sasha is my favorite stylist however everyone is friendly:) Let's put it this way. I walked in, she was booked, She asked if i can come back in 2 hours. I drove myself home and back over there 2 hours later cause I refuse to go to anyone else now. Every salon is going to have its perks and its upsets. NO ONE is perfect. I recommend this place to anyone though. The owner is super rad too :) came and offered me wine as soon as i sat down:) And he is a fellow east coaster so why not :)
Review Source:I've been to getting my haircut here for a year and a half and I've had 3 bad haircuts. One was from the girl with the piercings in her cheeks. The other 2 were from the large black manager lady. I've been growing my hair out for 3 months, I went in to get it cleaned up with my regular stylist Jessica, who is fantastic, but she went home sick. I told my replacement hair stylist to leave the length on top, clean it up, and trim up the sides.
Not only did she take over half my length off the top of my head, she didn't square up my neck, even my side burns, wash my hair or style it. She did a 30-45 minute hair cut in about 10. I went back to complain and she offered me a free hair cut. I clearly wont be needing that because all the length has been removed.
I love about half the staff there, but this is the shittiest hair cut I've had. Very disappointing.
Pretty dope place,
set up an appointment with "GIGI"
and she was cool.. listened to what i had to say and wanted to which she followed and put her own input on.
when i first walked in it felt kinda weird? due to the stripper pole in the middle haha but in the end, its a haircut place! :)
I have never left a bad review for any business. With that said, my experience here was so disappointing that I feel like it's the least I should do.
A quick preview: ONE HOUR AFTER LEAVING THE SALON, SOMEONE MISTOOK ME FOR HOMELESS and offered me money for lunch. This is NOT the kind of reception one wants after paying 100+ bucks and sitting 4 hours for a cut and color!
Gigi was my stylist. I asked for long, piecey bangs and she gave me short, clumpy bangs. I'm not talking about anything trendy- these looked BAD. I looked like a 90s child. I would give her gentle requests like "please taper my bangs outward" and she would just stare at me blankly. I'm pretty sure she was high. One of the other stylists actually had to come over and show my stylist how to cut bangs. And it still came out so awful that I averted eye contact the entire walk home.
I also asked for turquoise streaks... The result was pukey dark green streaks that (thankfully) washed out a week later after only two shampoos.
The one stylist who helped my stylist out (KaCee) was actually really nice and professional.
Another stylist looked like a stripper and pole-danced in the front lobby for ten minutes.....
I originally went here because it was local and all the stylists have cute hair. Unfortunately I was met with too much attitude and too little professionalism to warrant ever coming back.
Got my hair done by Kacee and I couldn't be happier! I have an a-line and have always struggled finding a stylist who could cut it just right and I I've FINALLY found someone who knows how to cut a beautiful a-line! She also did blonde highlights which turned out amazingly (no orange roots or uneven tones) and she was fast and very professional. I have gotten tons of compliments so far and I feel that the price was fair. And for people who complain about prices, there's one thing you need to remember: cheap stylists aren't good and good stylists aren't cheap! If you go into Barber Dollz, just ask for Kacee she will hook you up!
Review Source:Horrible! I asked them 3 times if they knew how to cut curly hair well and was reassured that they did. The cut was so bad I went someplace else after to get it fixed. Â I couldn't imagine them being able to fix it by how bad it was. They offer beer and the girls look like strippers, so maybe just getting a buzz cut would be best.
Review Source:My brows were getting too bushy and it was time to get them done. I decided to walk on Hollywood and go to the first place I saw. I came to Barber Dollz and so glad  I did.
Ayla did an excellent job on my brows. She really took her time to get them just right. Really made a huge difference, I'm happy with the outcome.
Went here with a Yelp deal that was a steal, nice cheap hair cut. Â And the cut was okay. Â Very well cut but not exactly what I asked for. Â It grew out nicely, which was great, but honestly the price is a little too much for what I got. Â Thankfully I found a better, cheaper place. Â But the atmosphere is fun and laid-back and it's hands down the best place in Hollywood to get a simple cut for under $50.
Review Source:Meh. I've experienced better, like at Super Cuts. I bought a Yelp deal: $25 for $50 worth. All I got was a 3" trim  (for retail price of $50) because my ends were in desperate need of help and it wasn't the greatest. Once I came home I noticed my split-ends probably worsened with the scissors/razor the girl used to give me layers or something. I'm just being honest. I wouldn't go back.
If you don't have a set hairstylist or hair salon you normally go to, try elsewhere before  this place.
My roommate recommended this place, and I'm really glad I stopped by. The owner was super friendly and I found out he's from the eastern shore of Maryland - not far from where I grew up. I took advantage of the Groupon deal (buy one haircut, get one free on your next visit.)
The stylist was a native Californian and told me all about the beaches and things to do since I had just moved. Â The first haircut was all scissors and took a bit longer than I expected, but for my second haircut I got clippers and was faster.
Bottom line: Good place to get your haircut if you want something affordable and good quality.
Living in the area I've popped in here when my regular stylist was unavailable and have had amazing experiences with both of the barber dollz who cut my hair. This time I was fortunate enough to get Ayla on New Year's Eve.
The service was perfect, friendly, outgoing, and kept up a really decent conversation. The cut was flawless, she even went back after my shampoo and made sure two hairs she wasn't happy with were cut.
I left happy and will most definitely come back to Ayla.
P.S. Price's can't be beat to anything else in the area and I got tons of compliments on my cut on New Year's.
WOW for realz? even thru Yelp you being rude? Your lying so the yelp community may think im the bad one here, go ahead and read your other bad reviews or perhaps they are lying like me?  yeah i have i life and trust me its much much  better than yours, i was at ur shop and probably the only thing pretty about it  its that old red carpet at the front door, what you really need its a business management class!!
here a little copy of the private message u sent me:
I will be as rude as I want to a LIAR!!!! And I can see spending all your time on yelp really tells me how exciting your life is Hahaha loser
I was really happy with my haircut by Gigi. Â I used the deal and the only reason i wouldn't go back is because i'm not accustomed to paying $50 for a haircut. Â If it was cheaper i'd be a regular!
I also wish i had gotten this free beer that everyone is mentioning their reviews. Â Although...i was there at like 3pm so maybe that's why?? haha.
Came here with a Yelp Deal worth $50 which included wash, cut, and blowdry with Angela. I have thick, straight, asian hair and I usually get a A-line reverse bob. However, I've gone to several stylists who cut my hair beautifully, but no one was gutsy enough to make my hair pretty and edgy as Angela did. I felt she listened to what I asked for and continued to trim and buzz away after she blow dried it which I think helps. Â Thank you.
The salon has a cool club lounge atmosphere with free alcoholic drinks which I did not partake especially in the morning.
Any salon that hands you a glass of wine when you sit down after a long week is a winner. A big glass. Â But that's not what I'm reviewing.
The salon itself is like other Yelper's reviews in that it does have a  "tattoo shop" feel. But from what I gathered, they do tattoos there too, so that makes sense.  I called on Thursday and asked for a Friday night appointment, and they booked me with no problem. I didn't mention I saw they had a Yelp deal ($25 for $50) because I was afraid saying that might change the way my appointment would go. Not saying that they would do that, however as a first time client, I have my guard up a little.
I was pretty excited since I was at that point where I was about to freak out if I didn't do something different with my hair... bangs it is. Â When I Â walked up, I was greeted immediately and felt very welcome. I was a little nervous considering I was the only female client in there. When I told her I had an appointment she looked through the books and found my name but looked around as if she wasn't sure who would cut my hair. She told me she had an appointment in a 1/2 hour but would take me anyway. Â I'm not sure if there was some error in my booking, or what but that made me a little uneasy. However she took me to the back and washed my hair after quick consultation of what I wanted ( I had a picture ). I had told her I recently dyed my hair so she used a shampoo for color treated hair which was nice (and thoughtful!) .
She really knew what she was doing when she cut my hair. I wasn't nervous at all once she got to it. Â She was so friendly, and it was a lot like talking to one of my girlfriends (which sometimes you like when you're getting your hair did!). Â My bangs and new haircut turned out really well and I've gotten a lot of compliments. Â The hair stylist's name was Ayla.
The only thing that stressed me out was the fact they didn't seem to care too much about those who had appointments . I think I was more nervous that we were cutting in to the next appointment's time than my hair stylist was. I almost felt a little lucky that I walked in when I did. Â This is not a conventional hair salon. This is on Hollywood Blvd. , right in the thick of it all. Expect something a little different, and not so chi chi and you can relaaxxxx. I hate going to a salon and feeling judged. This place is awesome, and I will be back to see Ayla.
Great customer service, great cut, and a fun atmosphere.
To the idiots who are trying to damage this local business by giving it fewer stars based on the quality of the FREE BEER (really?) and the hotness of the girls (because she wears a t-shirt and not, what...a bikini? Â or nothing at all?) Â GO TO A STRIP CLUB, followed by a full-service bar, then go get some craptastic shave at Super Cuts. Â This isn't your one-stop-shop for a cut, a buzz, and a happy ending. Â It's a barber shop, ladies and gents. You should know by now how long it takes to get to Hollywood and park there, and just because you arrive "fashionably late" to everything else you attend doesn't mean it's alright to do so at a place of business that's built around appointment times. Â Stop complaining and enjoy your free beer, pretty ladies, and video games.
I used to go to another barber shop in Hollywood until I met the owner at a restaurant and we struck up a conversation that he was from Maryland (I too am an East Coaster). So I decided to try his place out. Ever since then I've had my hair cut and styled exclusively at Barber Dollz.
I recently moved to San Luis Obispo but am currently planning my LA visits to coincide with my hair appointments. Guys and Gals if you're in the area or if you're on vacation in LA stop by and get a trim while you look at the yahoos on Hollywood Blvd.
CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE IS OUTSTANDING!!!
I've been getting my hair cut here for about a year now. Â Best haircut I've gotten in LA, after shopping around for a while. Â All of the stylists do a great job, but Angela has been my go-to person the last few months.
The entire staff is friendly, and the shop itself is just a cool place to hang out. Â They have big comfy recliner couches in the back, with a big-screen TV that has cable and a bunch of video games. Â BEST waiting area I have seen in any business I have been to. Â They will also ask you if you want anything to drink when you arrive. Â That could be water, soda, beer, etc. Â Don't be afraid to say yes!
In addition to doing a great job with haircuts & styling, one of my favorite things about this shop is when they wash your hair. Â They have hot towels to put on your face while they rinse and wash your hair. Â Feels SOOO good!
In addition to haircuts & styling, they keep expanding the business, and adding new features. Â They have a tattoo artist on site (it is Hollywood Blvd after all), spray tans, and have very cool artwork hanging on the walls that is for sale. Â Last time I was there I saw that they are now selling human-hair wigs now too!
I highly recommend you stop by and give them a try!!
Worst worst worst shave I have ever had in my adult life. If you're looking for a nice clean smooth hot shave. Boil some water and stay home and use a BIC. They missed all my neck most of my top and bottom lip and Radom spots on my face. Not to mention that the towels were not that hot or clean and yes the hot towel should come after the shave too not just whatever BS you were trying to plaster my face with to stop the bleeding on the 3 cuts on my chin. Thankfully I was told  by my friends she did use a new blade which BTW your are supposed to show your client.  Couldn't wait to get home and cleanse my face and of course shave properly, but still ended up with 2 pimples. Absolutely awful and I am not even going to get into the hair which was like a 2 at the side when I walked in and only asked to clean up. What a Fing mess !!!!
Review Source:My bangs were beyond indistinguishable. I hopped in here on my way home from work to get that noise sorted out. I'm a horrible human being -- I forget the name of the girl who tended to my locks. But she was sweet and did a **great** job with the cut. Drying my hair was a little on the long side... she was talking about how fabulous a blow-out is and that my hair can stay awesome for a couple days. My hair looked good, yes, but the blow-out certainly wasn't a show-stopper.
I'd definitely come back when I'm in their neck of the woods.
This place definitely needs a makeover, but that being said, I would totally make the drive to see Michelle. She's totally legit!! She knows what she is doing. I have spent hundreds of dollars and so much time getting my hair done at other nose-in-the-air establishments, bu no one understands my hair more than Michelle! I keep going back to her, and I am never disappointed!I always get a good cut and am very happy with my color and she always hooks me up with a good deal.Go in and make an appointment with Michelle! You won't regret it!
Review Source:I booked an appointment for a much needed trim last minute after seeing the Yelp deal that was being offered and I'm so glad I've discovered this salon. The location is right on Hollywood Blvd and it offers some pretty amazing people watching as you're getting your hair done :) My appointment was with Stephanie and she was so sweet and did a great job. I left with a great cut and a cute, teased blow out. Will def go back for my color next time.
Review Source:I have thick curly hair and I like to wear it long. I also don't like paying more than $20 for a haircut. So Barber Dollz is the perfect place for me. I've been here twice and had my hair cut but Tigra and Stephanie. They both did an awesome job. I was very satisfied. I think Barber Dollz has something for everyone. If you're into the Hollywood thing, you can enjoy that. If you just want a good haircut, you can enjoy that too. Bring a picture and they will do their best to emulate it.
Review Source:Should you be worried if you call to make an appointment for 2-3 days from now, and they have total availability? Yeah, just a bit.
I called to make an appointment for later in the week - Wednesday or Thursday - and they had 100% availability around my schedule. That never happens whenever I try to make an evening appointment for anything. Good businesses tend to book up quickly.
Nevertheless, appointment set. Roll on day of appointment! Traffic from the west side was horrendous, making me a tad late for my appointment. I turned up at 7:14 for a 7:00 appointment. Since they had full availability, I assumed this would be no problem.
I walked up to Barber Dollz and assumed I had the wrong place. Black doors, decor like a tattoo parlor. This can't be where I'm getting my hair cut, is it? Yep.. I had the right place. I walk in, one stylist is doing someone's hair. Two other people are gossiping on the couch area. And then there is me, standing at the counter. A gent walks up to me, I tell him who I am and my appointment time. He claims he just tried to call me to ask if I was still coming. Nope, I have my phone in hand, look at my phone, and no missed calls. Umm? Well, no, he didn't try to call.
He then proceeds to tell me that there are now people ahead of me and I am going to have to reschedule. Well, hello, if you had called me, I would have told you where I'm at. Reschedule? For a mediocre haircut (based on several other Yelp reviews)? No thanks.
What type of place has only one person working if they expect it to be busy?
This place is definitely a guy's place, or a wannabe goth hang out. Not my cup of tea. I'll stick to reputable salons that cater to women!
Totally worth putting quarters in metered street parking in which the 'taking quarters' part of the meter doesn't work. Which one discovers after having lost two quarters to said meter. Anyway. Sasha is my cutter extraordinaire. Thank you, Sasha. See you in a few weeks. This place rules.
Review Source:Got a groupon for this spot. At first, I was super excited. $10 for a professional haircut sounds to go to be real. Well, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. And I got a Bad haircut!!!
The barber was nice. Parking is difficult (go with coins).
I've had better luck at some supercuts.
I would not go again.
It was Saturday evening, I needed a haircut, and I was in the heart of Hollywood. Thought everything would be closed, overpriced, etc. I yelped to see what was nearby, and Barber Dollz was open, and had a Yelp deal. I walked in and was able to get seen within the hour. The $25 Yelp deal got me a shampoo, haircut and style. I saw Angela and she was fast, sweet, and did a really great job on my hair. I'll def keep going back. It was really laid back and they had a waiting area with comfy chairs and a big TV for anyone who is waiting for you to get your hair done. This place is worth checking out.
Review Source:Finally a no fuss affordable place for tattooed jean wearing chicks to get a really good haircut! I have super short bright colored hair and I really enjoy being able to get a casual cut without all the super fancy fees. It's hip and cool and not snooty or too stuffy here. Pretty much you are getting the Barber joint experience but girls fit in here! It can get so expensive out there by the time you are out the door of the typical Hollywood hair salon. This place is cute and down to earth but I have had nothing but very professional experiences each time I stop by. The cut prices are reasonable and I've always managed to get pretty good deals on each cut. I believe the young lady who cut my hair is Angelica or Angelina? (Sorry!) She's kind and good at cutting hair.
Review Source:I wish I could give 3.5 stars. Â My experience here was definitely decent. Â They were having a promo, and I was working sort of late, so I went in around 8 pm to give them a try (I love hair places that are open late!).
The lady who cut my hair (sorry, can't remember her name as it was a while ago) did a nice job. Â Nothing super life-changing but then again life-changing cuts can easily go the wrong way! Â I am not sure I would pay full price but at a discount it was a good value. Â I am a very fickle hair customer and it takes a lot to impress me, but I might one day go back.
So I was in Hollywood attending a wedding and needed to get my hair done as I am totally clueless with styling my own hair. It was the day before so I was slacking on finding a place. I called barber dollz and they were able to get me in the next day no problem.
I jump on Yelp and find this place, its about 6 or so blocks down from my hotel, with in perfect walking distance, so off I go.
At one point I thought I was lost, I called the shop and the girl stepped outside and flagged me down, I was only across the street and about 4 doors down, lol.
Once I got there they were really nice. I was seated at a huge couch in the back and asked if I wanted any wine, it was only 2pm and I had just walked so I asked for some water. Love it when a place serves drinks.
I can't remember the girls name, she told me she was the youngest one there, a little hipster looking but damn can she style some hair! I have really short hair and asked for curls, she said she would see what she could do. It came out looking so adorable! I loved it! And it only cost $35, not to shabby for a wash dry and style.
I got an online discount coupon, needed a haircut, so signed up. Â I read about the beers available, big chairs, etc. Â Eh, hot girls, fine, a good beer and haircut is more valuable than eye candy. Â SO--I spoke to a man there before they opened to set my noon appt. Â I called for directions, got him again. Â I arrived 10 min early. Â There was one woman cutting the hair of a guy with a buzz-cut---I presumed she HAD to be nearly done. Â
The guy who I'd spoken to? Â NOT around. Â I seated myself. Â NO beer, no snacks. Â No "sit down and relax." Â NO NOTHING. Â I waited 25 MORE MINUTES for the woman to finish cutting the 1/2 inch hair on the jar head....literally, 25 min. Â Eventually the guy showed up.
What kinds of beers?  Miller or Bud light.  Something HORRID. NO European beer.  Cheap, watery, domestic swill   ICK!!!!
Finally I get the haircut. Â YES I am nice and polite...I know she works hard....so I'm not rude.
The second "hot girl" arrives. Â She is in a SLOPPY ILL FITTING GREEN T SHIRT---jeans too. Â Since they sell their idea on "HOT" girls to cut your hair---why is she allowed to work dressed like the tourists on the street?
I paid, I tipped well (she's  a single mom, making ends meet).
The beer? I couldn't bring myself to drink swill.
WHERE was anyone to greet me?
Seat me?
Give a hoot (to be polite) about my FORTY MINUTE WAIT???
I would suggest you NOT go.
No reason TO go...and it's Hollywood. Â Lousy parking.
BUT THERE IS a really awesome political art museum across the street to right about 200 feet that IS VERY WORTH YOUR TIME TO VISIT!!!!
I'm writing this review not about the hair cuts but about the hair styling.
I recently had my entrie wedding party styled here. It's around the corner from our apartment and we had guests and wedding party members staying at H&H so this was the ideal location.
That's why I picked it, but I should have picked it on the quality alone.
I had a huge bridal party and what people wanted, who needed to get their hair done, and when they could come was constantly changing. The salon handled it all no problem. They let us take over the place for the morning. My bridesmaids sat around with curlers in their hair watching romantic comedies and brunching while everyone from my aunts, mother of the groom and all key female players got their hair done. I'd printed out photos I like and they did all the rest. Each girl had a different style so no one was stuck, but everyone looked awesome.
I expected getting everyone's hair done to be drama but it absolutely wasn't. They handled everything.
These cats seriously rule! Â I've never been happier with my foil job! Â Andrea does a fantastic job & Vivian & Fulton have always made me feel welcome, so I just keep coming back. Â I live in vegas, so I actually make the trip just to see them & even have the intention of just stopping by if I'm in the neighborhood. Â
I really love their friendly attitudes & feeling welcome at a salon is important, I don't want to go somewhere that feels stuck up. Â But the quality of their work is great & the rock n roll vibe is cool with the ability to chill out on the sofa's & watch the flat screen is def a bonus... I actually don't want to be in a hurry when I'm here cos I'd love to just get my hair did, hang & drink a wine or two...
Aside from all that, they are affordable & have specials on hair cuts & color all the time, it pays to check out their website or sign up on their mailing list for good deals.
=D
All that was missing from my haircut experience was a fan and some grapes. I love the entire staff at Barber Dollz. They're all fun to talk to and hang out with. Vivian has given me 2 amazing haircuts and I plan to return as long as I live in LA. Plus, Fulton serves a mean glass of wine on arrival. I def suggest u check it out!!!
Review Source:I went here for a haircut because I was in the neighborhood with 90 min to kill and I needed a haircut BADLY. Why not, I thought? I just NEED a haircut, I can always fix it later. Halfway through the haircut I thought, "Wait, what am I doing here? Am I really getting my hair cut on the strip? And at a place with a stripper pole and a 'z' in the name?! OH NO what have I done?!"
However, my haircut turned out AMAZING. The woman cutting my hair understood exactly what I meant and did an absolutely fantastic job at giving me a sharp, stylish, indie women's cut. I adore my haircut and have got so many compliments on it. It has even grown out really well. While I would normally encourage people to steer clear of anything on that stretch of Hollywood Blvd., I would definitely recommend this place.
This place is great!! First they make your wait for the haircut as relaxed as possible. Â Comfy couch, HD tv's with a couple of current sports games, a wii and a PS3. Â They also offer you a drink. Â Not that your wait will be long enough to enjoy these bonuses. Â Then your cut comes with a full shampoo, which might as well be a scalp massage its so soothing. Â Then you get a top quality cut, by a super cutie with a personality to make you want more, Â It truly is the trim that keeps you coming back.
Review Source:Sometimes you need a new look.... Â The fohawk had to go, we both knew it. Â I have very difficult hair to cut and have paid lots at Salons in big cities and nothing in China Towns across the country (which you should try btw!). Â What I have found is that price is irrelevant it all depends on the person cutting your hair. Â VIVIAN knows how to cut hair!! Â I have baby fine hair. Â In order to cut it right you need patience and you need to be detailed or else it looks like crap. Â For a very FAIR price of $25 for a mens cut it is definitely up there in my top ten best cuts. Â Cool interior design, very comfortable, and the owner is a true business man asking me right away if I would like something to drink. Â As a NY'er this is what I like to see in LA. Â You rule guys! -j
Review Source:I wanted all over color and it took 2 hrs and I had to leave right away bc I had plans. Â I don't know about you but when I have gotten my hair just colored 2 hours is excessive. I gave her the benefit of the doubt bc she was helping someone else. So I went back a second time much better timing but she tried blow drying my hair no diffuser. I have thick curly hair sorry but that is not gonna help my hair
Review Source:This place has a 50% off special making a slick Hollywood haircut a paltry $17.50 which is essentially a barbershop price for a salon haircut. They also offer a punchcard so that for every 5 haircuts, your sixth is free.
The girl who cut my hair, Lexi, was cute, friendly and fun, and did a great job with my hair, which included a wash. I should note that I've got thick, wavy Jew-hair and my buddy Alex has pretty-boy blonde hair and she did an awesome job with both of us despite different hair types.
The manager/owner (?), Fulton, is also a cool cat, and hooked us up with drinks while we waited for our haircuts. I love this place and will be sending all of my friends there, no doubt.
Let me start by saying that I am one of those guys that thinks anything more than $10 for a hair cut is toooooooo much. Â
I was my friend and I were walking around Hollywood looking for a place to eat, as we headed to a Peruvian restaurant  we passed this place and they were handing out free 50% off cards; even so, i kept walking.
once we got to our destination we noticed it was closed and walked back to the car having to pass Barber Dollz again. Â
So long story short... I got suckered into going in and getting a hair cut  for $17.50 (tooooo much) by a cute and charismatic girl named KAT.. To my surprise, I loved the do and will be going back to KAT and even pay the $35 for a hair cut... yes I Danny  "more than $10 for a hair cut is toooooooo much" J. will be going back.
They have cool leather recliners with a big LCD streaming the games and they have classy  boobie magazines for us.. I meant; all YOU pervs out there.
The place is great and KAT is the greatest... Don't sleep on this place and go get your Fro chopped at Barber Dollz.
