I was skeptical of going here at first because of the reviews.  But I'm glad I gave it a shot.  My eyebrows look great.  The woman, Gia who did them, did an awesome job.  I would have given this place 5 stars but she did get me a few times and so I had some scabs, but it's much better than getting burned from wax.  The price was great too!  Only $10 for eyebrows!  I will be coming back and going back to Gia!

OMG. I have to agree with others who have had horrible experiences here. I went today and I am so incredibly disappointed. My brows are totally different and she used scissors to "trim" them and cut way too much on one side. Do NOT go here. They will ruin your brows. I have had much better experiences at Beauty by Thread at Arden and Roseville. I hardly ever write reviews but I am so annoyed about this that I have to share.

Yelp is a good source for consumer awareness but it won't actually change anything unless we, the consumers, do something about it. I went in today, first time to this location, ever. This was the last. I went in today, Sunday, around 7:30 and there were two Indian girls there. A petite, shorter one and a taller one with an attitude and unfriendly tone. I told her I just wanted to clean up my eyebrows, not shape them, and she answered, "Well, that's IS EYEBROWS then" and she continued rolling her eyes at me anytime I asked her to clarify or repeat what she said because I had a hard time understanding her. She rushed through because she ended up cutting me. When I told her I had never been cut before (I thread every single month for years now), she replied, "That's because you didn't hold them up and down how I told you to." She didn't dust off the hair flying all over and when she put some witch hazel it also got into my nose. Unbelievable. For all consumers out there, BEWARE. But I'm not stopping here. I'm just getting started. There's more to it than this, I'm just summarizing but last, I want to encourage all to report official complaints to the Better Business Bureau. Only then, will employees, supervisors, managers and owners will be CHECKED.

I came here yesterday with my sister and her friend to get our brows thread. I was first, and asked Shareem not to thread it too thin since it was already thin. She reassure me she wouldn't. In the end, it came out to what I didn't want.  Tooo thin!! It took me a whole 3 months to grow it out!

Next was my sister, she was suppose to shape and thread  it per her request. She shape it alright, she made her right eyebrows thinner then the left and after we address our issues, she told her that her brows were partially missing from the beginning and all she had to do was filled it in. Wtf? Didn't care to fix it either.

Last but not least, it was her friend's turn. Since she's Romanian, she has thick eyebrows already.. I must say, that her brows came out pretty nice once it was done. Only good thing about this whole experience.

I came here before but had another girl, and she was fantastic. I didn't catch her name, but I'm guessing she doesn't work there anymore?

When it came down to paying, I used my ATM card to pay for all three. Shareem had the audacity to ask if I was gonna tip her. Wth? Regardless of my experience, I always give a tip even tho it wasn't that great. Prob would be my last time here unless I see the girl that did my brows here the first time.

Nice, small place by Macy's. I've been going there for a while now & I've always love the job they do. I have thick eyebrows & I've never had a problem with them taking off too much. Didn't give full 5 stars because sometimes it feels a little rushed.

If by "cleaning up" your eyebrows, you mean making them pencil-thin AND two completely different, uneven shapes, then this place is for you. I've been here several times with OK enough results to keep me coming back thanks mostly to the convenience, but this last time (and it's "last time" on multiple levels) was the worst job I've ever had ANYWHERE, threading or otherwise.

    Never again.

"I mean look, dude. You think this was an accident? All this right here? Premeditated. Partner. You gotta highlight your attributes, like a diamond in the rough." That's what Jay tells Andy in "The 40 Year Old Virgin", so I took his advice and tried to highlight the very few attributes I do have.

I've done threading before but for the most part I do my own brow manscaping. Feeling a little lazy and this place located right outside of Macy's where I had just walked out of, I decided to stop. The shop itself is very simple, just a few chairs where they do the threading and not much else. I was the only person there so they got me in and out pretty quickly and painlessly.

As far as their work, ehhhh, it was OK.  I didn't want my brows redone or shaped, just cleaned up a little.  I did get home and have to touch up some areas she missed so I guess she could have definitely done a better job.  But I rather them take less than more and leave me with "SURPRISED" looking eyebrows.

Brow threading businesses in shopping malls are kind of like the fast food joints of beauty salons. They get you in and out in under a couple of minutes and the product is cheap. However, I would liken Brows Shaping Salon to In-N-Out- employees are nice and prompt and prices are fair. I much prefer this salon to Beauty By Thread in the Arden Fair Mall. They recently raised their prices- it's now $10 for threading which is tell very reasonable. I think that all the young women who work here do a great job for how quickly they work. They accept credit and debit and validated garage parking is available. I've never needed to make an appointment and have never waited more than 10 minutes.

If I could rate a zero I would. There was no time spent asking what I wanted and she instead went to town completely threading off most of my eyebrows and telling me I need to fill them in. She did no clean up to the lid and when I asked her to check it she only looked at the right side and completely disregarded the left. Taking a look at them closer now they are completely uneven and I have no choice now than to fill them in.

I went on a Sunday around 1 pm. If they work the same shifts...stay clear of that lady! She was more interested in getting back to her cell phone than doing a halfway decent job on my eyebrows.  Terrible and not worth even the $10.

I just moved to Sacramento and decided to try this place out since the Yelp reviews were decent. I use to have my eyebrows threaded at the salon I went to and it was around 13-15 dollars and the experience was fantastic.

Frankly, this place is 10 dollars for a reason. I can understand why they've had to lower their prices. They're not worth more than 10. For a place that solely focuses on eyebrows, they need to do a better job. I went on a weekday and a sign on the door said they would be back in 15 minutes. Understandable since it looks like there's only one person during the day. When they reopened, I was they only one. Therefore, I was surprised she completely rushed me. She didn't spend anytime asking what I was looking for, the shape of my brows, what she was going to do, etc. She spent zero time on customer service; she went straight for it. And she totally rushed the job, quickly asking me if I liked it and not paying attention to when I told her what I wanted. Granted, the eyebrows looks okay from a distance, but the glory of threading is that it looks perfect up close. Honestly, they looked like they were waxed.

Next time I'm going to go elsewhere. While it's only 10 dollars, I would rather spend an extra three dollars getting it right.

Unfortunately, I have to be the one to go against the grain..  I've had my eyebrows done here for the past 6 months or so.  The first two times were OKAY, the third time was beyond perfect.  The woman who did them said she works Monday nights.  I came back on Monday night..twice.  The same woman was not there.  An unfriendly staff member did my eyebrows.  I have REALLY sensitive skin on my face, and she mentioned that she needed to be super careful not to snag my skin..  That being said, she made my eyebrows really REALLY thin and I was kind of shocked.  So I came back..monday night, and there she was.  WELL..i figured I would just ask her to NOT make them so very thin.. She did the first one..and it was pretty skinny.. I told her that's not really what I wanted (oh well TOO LATE?!) and she shot her coworker a look that said "THIS BITCH.."  and on the second brow she RIPPED my skin out.  I have 3 tiny scars under my UNEVEN eyebrows.  never...ever...again.

I used to have my brows done at a Spa in midtown and paid a fortune, not any more! Sharmeen is my Brow master! I have thick course eye brows, so shaping them is dependent on every single hair. She leaves them beautiful everytime, and I leave confident! This place is clean and convenient. Sharmeen is super friendly and sweet. Highly recommend Sharmeen to people who are wary of threading or brow shaping in general, you wont be after she works her magic!

This is the coolest place ever.  I think Downtown plaza is lucky to have them because they kept on having customers one after the other when I was there.  The person who was doing eyebrows was extremely nice.  She gave us a little timeline of what will be done with your eyebrows and then she got it done.

Threading is great!  First time I tried threading my eyebrows.  I think it's better than tweezing and waxing.  She even took off the little tiny hairs that look like invisible peach fuzz on my cheek.  She was so amazing!

Its really great!  I will definitely try it again!

I've been in four times over the last six months and each and every different woman working there has been at least good, if not very good or great at both the shaping and their threading prowess.

Best of all, I feel like they each LISTEN to what style I'm requesting, and I can safely say that is more than a great deal of the eyebrow technicians I've been to have done.

Try them! Very reasonable prices so you can easily afford to maintain them and any other facial areas, plus they validate parking so its a breeze.

I'm here on the regular! Girls here are great. They do a great job and is conveniently located in the mall.

Giving this place 5 stars now because they lowered their price. Its now $10 to get your eyebrows threaded! During the weekday there is only one girl working. They usually aren't busy but the times I have gone around lunch, you might have to wait 10-15 minutes. The girls are fairly quick and accurate.

Give this place a try, the results are incredible! It looks so much cleaner than waxing!

This place is awesome! My uni-brow has not been seen in 1 year. I'll be honest the first 3 times were painful, after that it hurt so good. I get the Soft-Nag, by Meena. She's usually on the 1st floor location. I love her to pieces! Pricing is good, even includes parking validation. The line is never more than 5 minutes long, so I even go before mass. Got to look good for Jesus...you know he's coming back right?

I went to downtown plaza just to walk around and show my brother around Sacramento. I notice this expensive looking salon that I've always noticed but never gone in. I assume they are super expensive. Today, I was just like what the heck, let me check out their prices. WOW!!! $10 FOR EYEBROW THREADING!!!!!!!

I was like I have to do this!! The woman was very good. I forgot her name, I believe it started with an S. She was incredibly precise, careful, and detailed in her work. I usually go into brow salons to get touch ups but I recently wanted more of an arch but was scared to try it out in case the person did it bad. I dont know why but i decided to take a chance on her and I'm glad I did. She did one and showed it to me before moving onto the other to ensure that I liked her work. I really liked that! Such a small gesture to do and it just really showed me how much she cares about her clients and her work. I loved it and so she did the other.

She also did brow gel and filled in my brows for free since I told her I've never done it before. The brow gel and brow fill ins were a bit more expensive ($15) so I passed. I got brow gel on elf for like a dollar and it works fine since I dont have too many hairs out of place. I've been trying to find a similar eyebrow powder for cheaper but haven't been able to. I didn't like the IMAN pencil one I got at target...I might give up and just get hers haha.

I will definitely go back to here, you can't beat the prices. I used to go to the one in the Arden Fair mall for$13 and I didn't like them too much. She trimed my eyebrow hairs way too short where it stuck out. This place was way more careful and perfect. I highly recommend them.

I went on the second level at downtown mall. It was my first time EVER doing my eyebrows. The lady that did it made it look "okay"

The second time i came, i had another lady did them & sadly, she messssed them up! She made one brow arched, while the other was curved. I didn't notice it until i got home since my eyes were stinging when i was there. It loooks so bad, i thought about going back two days after to see if she can fix it, but i'm broke. Now my browd look so uneven, ugh its frustrating. Good thing i have my bangs to cover that brow -__-

On the other hand, they do seem to always seem busy. I think its a good place to get your brows done, but i think it depends on the PERSON doing your brows. Some of the ladies seeem unfriendly too, but yeah.

    Just find the right person.

I'm so happy I got my eyebrows threaded here (second floor near the food court).  It took Sacramento mall patrons a while to realize that threading is better than waxing.  Reasonable prices and great brow shaping skills.  Don't know about the henna tats, but the threading is good.

I used to go to Beauty By Thread in Arden but since I'm in midtown this place is much closer.  I will say though, after my threading the other day I might just make the drive to Arden.

I went to the location on the first floor.  The girl who did the threading was really a sweetheart.  She made small talk and we chatted while she was doing my brows and lip but she just seemed very unsure of what she was doing and SLLOOWW.  I love threading because it's fast and fairly painless.  I swear this chick took out every single hair one by one at an excruciatingly slow pace.  Everything turned out well except for a bit on the side of my brows that she didn't quite get.

i might go back and hope for someone else or maybe when she gets a little more sure of herself but for now I wanna stick with the faster ladies at BBT

I love getting my eyebrows threaded. I always get them done here and most of the time they've come out good. Get them done by Sharmeen! She's the best. I got them done by someone else and they didn't come out so great...They also have a frequent buyer card. It used to cost $12 last year and then for some time they raised the price to $15 and I thought that was too much so I stopped coming here, but when I came back last time they had lowered the price to $13.

I stopped in here on a whim one day because I saw that they do henna for $12+.  The prices were decent .  The designs I chose turned out to be $17 each, although when I asked her the price, she intially said "$20, but I can do $17".  I wasn't sure if she was giving me a discount or if it was a sale price or what.  After I picked out the designs, she traced them on that special paper that will transfer the ink onto your skin.  This took quite a while, not to mention the actual inkwork itself.  I don't think she does henna often, since there is no comfortable work station for a customer to sit or lay down on.  I ended up sitting backwards on a chair for part of the session, then laying on a small bench for the rest.  The designs turned out pretty nice, although I think for the trouble I could have my artist friend freestyle on me in the comfort of my home.

Brow Shaping Salon has 2 locations at the Downtown Plaza. This one is on the second floor, across from the food court and open during mall hours.

They have 2 chairs in the storefront.. and the store has large windows so anyone walking by can watch. But, I'm also told they have a back room.

Brow Shaping Salon does threading, eyebrow shaping, and henna tattoos.

    Eyebrows $13
    Chin $8
    Upper Lip $8
    Forehead $8
    Sides $10

    Henna Tattoos $12+

They have a Customer Rewards Program-- Get 5 sets of Eyebrows done and the 6th is free.

When you walk in. You sign in and wait for your turn.. or you can also call and make an appointment. I saw Sharmeen and she did a great job. When you pay out and decide you want to leave a tip on a card, you'll have to tell them the full amount up front.

And lastly, at this store they don't validate for the parking garage.. Sharmeen said their other location on the first level will validate. Slight hassle but if you're at the mall.. you can probably validate anywhere else you go.
