I decided to have Famous do my nipple piercings after reading the Yelp reviews. I looked at a lot of different places and places that were closer to me. I am SO happy I went to Famous. It was clean and professional. He was super nice and we were able to have a great conversation while I was there. (That's always a nice distraction when you are about to have something possibly painful incur). He even checked out my friend's tattoo that needs a cover up job. His prices are totally reasonable. I am now getting more serious about planning my own tattoo because I felt so comfortable with him and seeing his work was awesome. Fantastic experience!

On top of that, the fact that there is no shop minimum and they charge by the work done, not the hours spent doing it, this place receives top marks all around.
I recently got a leg piece done by Famous here in memorial of my parents and he did a great job. He took a very basic design and turned it into a work of art. I will DEFINITELY return to Famous for any and all future tattoos I want to get done and I've recommended him to more than a few people already.
This is by far the best tattoo parlor i have ever been to! Famous is an amazing artists and every single member of the famous ink team is a complete and utter treat to be around. Everyone is nice, helpful, funny and professional. Famous took my design and gave me great information, ultimately helping pic the right color for my piece. Im a very small woman with a fairly good tolerance for pain, and getting your chest and color bone inked can be painful...but i barely felt a tickle the entire time. my piece came out great but now i want it embellished, so im going back to famous to get it pimped out...ill be going back for future tattoos and piercings.
did i mention the price? because it was amazing! there is no shop minimum and every piece is given its own estimate. Fairly priced for great work!

Famous Ink is tucked away in a little shopping center on the corner of West Capitol and Harbor. Â You can't see it from the street, so it's easy to miss if you're not sure where you're going.
I went here to get a couple of cartilage piercings. Â The waiting room was clean and everyone there was friendly. Â After I filled out the requisite paperwork, Famous led me to the back room to get pierced. Â The walls are covered in signatures from other customers. Â I think the idea is that if you refer people to the shop, you get a tally mark next to your name, and you get a free piercing for every X number of people you refer (don't know the exact number, but I did get to sign the wall after my piercing).
The procedure itself took a little longer than I expected (apparently I bled a lot) but Famous was both professional and low key. Â He answered the questions that I had regarding my piercing, and didn't try to push me to buy any aftercare products. Â He also didn't go into how to care for my piercings, though I didn't really need that info since I have plenty of other piercings. Â
Other info that might be relevant: the piercing was done with a needle (I think there are still some people who pierce with a gun, which makes me cringe). Â The cartilage piercing was 35.00, and there was no extra charge to swap out the barbell for a gem. Â
All in all, it was a good experience and I'll probably go back here for more piercings.
By far this is the spot! Famous is the man. I have been looking for a shop that does good work and does not break the bank for the simple fact he wants you to come back. Unlike other shops they will not charge you a arm and a leg. In addition the staff is friendly and great atmosphere. (They just got some arcade games so you have entertainment while you wait) I am going back soon to get more work done!

He's geared towards the customer and not trying to hustle every last dollar out of your pocket, but will also shoot it straight and stand behind his word, his work, and his prices. He definitely has the best script work I've seen in my life and there really isn't anything he can't do when it comes to tattooing. The shop is also extremely well kept and offers a more than comfortable environment to get tattooed in. If you go to Famous once, there's no doubt that you'll be back for more as soon as you can.

I have referred tons of people and everyone in my immediate family (over 18 of course) has been "made famous". Famous cares about his customers, he wants every one to walk away happy. He's honest and straight forward. I've never seen an artist lay ink as fast and accurate! And NO SHOP MINIMUM!
