Okay so I started out by calling the shop to see if I needed an appointment! Â You guessed it I am not a tattoo aficionado. Â I didn't realize that you just walk in and see if they are available. Â I am in my early 50's and decided to get my first tattoo in commemoration to my college roommate who had a 26 month fight with pancreatic cancer. Â One of the last things she asked me was to not forget about her and so I thought a little tattoo was the best way to show her I would never forget her. Â I went in on Friday afternoon and Sara greeted me. Â There were two girls ahead of me that couldn't decide so Sara took care of me right away. Â The shop was so clean. Sara spent so much time and care prepping for my tattoo that the prep time exceeded the tattooing time. Â My tattoo is very small and is on my ankle. Â Sara was very patient and exacting in placing the stencil she drew. Â She was so kind and pleasant with me. Â To say I felt like a fish out of water is an understatement but, after just a short time with Sara she made me feel like an important customer and that this tattoo was the most important one that she had done. Â I told Sara why I was getting the tattoo and I could see in her eyes she shared my emotion thus putting me even more at ease about having her do the work. Â When she was done I took one look at the tattoo and was so pleased I started crying. Â I looked at Sara and she had tears in her eyes too. I found the Flaming Dragon (Pacific location) on yelp and then also called my eighteen year old daughter to ask her since she has friends with tattoos. I couldn't have been luckier to have stumbled upon the Flaming Dragon and Sara having the time to perform the work. Â I don't know why I felt so compelled to have that tattoo done on Friday but, it never would have happened had I not been so lucky in that Sara had had a cancellation that afternoon. Â I witnessed everyone in the shop with customers and everyone was kind and professional. Â Everyone looked at my little tiny tattoo and made me feel important. Â They were all so genuine I felt like I was among friends. Â I sent a picture of the tattoo to my girlfriend at 8:30 PM Friday night and found out the angels came to pick her up at 3:15 AM Saturday morning. Â It was all fate that I pushed myself to go and that Sara was free to do the work. Â I can't thank Sara and the entire staff at the Flaming Dragon enough. No matter if this is your first or you one hundredth tattoo This is the best place to go. Â From the heart - Thank you Sara and the staff at the Pacific Avenue Flaming Dragon Tattoo shop
Review Source:Imagine two little old ladies of 60, although I don't look it or feel it, trotting in to get tattoos. Â I know it sounds silly but it's on my bucket list and now I can check it off. Â That said, Brad was amazing. Â I told him what I wanted, he sketched it, did the tattoo and was funny on top of it all. Â Thought it would hurt a lot more than it did so I was pleasantly surprised. Â The store was clean and there were many customers, a lot of them repeat which say plenty for the business. Â i'd recommend this place to anyone.

Review Source:Came here after a friend recommended John Sabin for my next tattoo. I came in with the tattoo already designed and laid out and John was quick to get me scheduled and set up.
The shop is clean and has an open flow throughout.
So getting back to the ink -- I got a blue eagle on my calf with the words Seahawks on one side. John did a great job and even blended in some white/grey on the inside to give the wings more depth. Came out perfect and healed up nicely.
The artists at Flaming Dragon Tattoo really care about the art and go the extra mile to make sure that you are satisfied and well taken care of. I would recommend John Sabin, and any artist at this location for that matter, to draw you up.
My first tattoo (from another artist at a completely different shop) was a disaster. I still keep it covered up and I'm hoping to have it fixed by the absolutely wonderful and amazing Darin.
I came in with a vague idea of a tattoo and made an appointment with Darin after I saw how gorgeous his artwork was.
After waiting for the appointment to arrive the day had come, I was going to get a tattoo of a trilobite! I originally wanted a very black and white line drawn textbook version of my favorite fossil arthropod, but Darin (thankfully) encouraged me to go with some color. The price was right, too, charging me significantly less than what I expected to shell out for this amazing piece of art on my arm.
I LOVE this tattoo, it's so bright and awesome and nerdy. I'm extremely happy with his work and will definitely always come back to Darin for whatever I happen to want (be prepared, it's Darwin's tree of life next!)
**the 38th shop has moved to  3514 Pacific Ave Tacoma, WA 98418
DUPLICATE REVIEW gave to 6th Ave also!
LOVE this shop. Had scoped them out 5 years ago passing through and didn't go in until 2009 when I knew what I wanted to commit too.
Brought my friend in for a quick wrist piece and Jason did a fantastic job. Now she finally has a good tattoo as opposed to all of her not so good ones. Scheduled and appointment with John Sabin to get a consult and start the process that next month. OH my LOVE what he did for me. John did the best job on my very large back piece. I get all kinds of compliments and I love it. Every single one of these guys knows their stuff. Just look at any ones portfolio. Hands down the best place I have been for tattooing. (this was my sixth and largest piece and my sixth shop) When I get my next one regardless if I live in town this is where I will come. Clean, friendly, knowledgeable. They will let you know if your design will or won't work and offer help to draw you up a rendition that will. No crappy art coming out of this shop at all. Bonus is they are all really cool guys to talk to when getting your work done. No weird vibes at all.
Can't wait to schedule my next one!
I did not get a tattoo here, but I recently accompanied my friend who did. She'd been wanting to get this done for some time, so this was not at all a rush decision on her part. But one day, I got the phone call: "I want to go get tattooed! Come with me!" Â So I did!
I observed a clean shop with sterile procedures and friendly staff. They were able to get her in for her relatively simple design on the same day - couldn't promise that would always be the case, but it was nice. Prompt, polite artist and nice line work. She checked & rechecked the design repeatedly to make sure the placement and size were perfect. Â We also saw some other guy getting a really detailed, extremely skilled Japanese-style full sleeve at the same time. Â So, looks like people here know what they are doing!
Chris McQueen at Flaming Dragon is quite literally THE MAN for all your piercing needs.
He's honest, friendly, professional, knows his way around placement, and his prices are more than fair. His committment to a sanitary and clean environment is perhaps only paralleled by the tattoo guys out front. Â If you've seen my snakebites, you know how good the guy's work is; they're well-isolated from my teeth, they look great, and they healed perfectly.
I cannot recommend any piercer more highly than i recommend Chris.
I only went here for piercings, but the place was extremely clean and very professional. I started as a tattoo person but had a wild hair so I went here to try a piercing. Then I was addicted 4 piercings later....I can't remember the guys name who I saw but he was young and great at what he did.
Review Source:** Note - This is a duplicate post because both F.D. shops deserve some love! **
Flaming Dragon Tattoo Co. is one of the best tattoo shops in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Â I have been to both of their locations on 6th Ave and 38th St. and they are equally exceptional establishments. Â Their shops are what I call "East meets West", hip and funky environment and walls adorned with eclectic Asian artwork and masks. Â Both locations are meticulously clean as well as comfortable and all of the artists are amazingly talented and professional and provide the highest quality of work. Â
I had been wanting to get a back tattoo for the longest time and when I heard their artist Scott Schafer specializes in Chinese and bird/fowl artwork I knew he was the one. Â He listened to me from the beginning and combining my ideas with his many years of expertise has created the most beautiful tattoo for me and has by far exceeded my expectations. Â Only two sessions in so far and I can't wait to see how the shading and color will turn out!
If you live in Seattle/Tacoma you are very lucky!  Gotta check these guys out, you will NOT be disappointed!  Check em out at <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flamingdragon.com&s=0f72b4bd4b19041fa9185710c218ea238cc686d70b4b83bfc8f1f7b15d442e81" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.flamingdragon…</a> and at the Seattle Tattoo Expo 8/8-8/10 <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.seattletattooexpo.com&s=a300996fbea5ce2b70dcced7fef2d6626ac24d9ec00d1dd16bfe28e6958cced2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.seattletattoo…</a>.
