I just love to death my cute little tat behind my ear. Â My best friend who lives out in Covina brought me to Inflictions Body Art for my first tat. Â You see, I'm a virgin when it comes to this and I wanted it to be done just right! Â My nerves were put to ease here and everything went smooth. Â
I got exactly what I wanted here and would certainly come back for my next one. Â Everything was so clean and easy. Â Thanks guys!
I came here on a whim to have my tragus pierced. Â I was quoted $45 for one (including jewelry) or $70 for two: I decided to have both done.
The guy who took care of me--Chris--was nice. Â No pressure to do anything. Â The $70 seemed a bit high but this is only the second time that I've had a piercing so I have nothing to compare the $70 to.
There is a form that I had to fill out before the piercing took place that is basically a legal form advising about the risks associated with piercings and absolving Inflictions of any liabilities, blah, blah, blah.
The jewelry I chose were two small captive bead rings.
The room where the piercings took place was small but clean, everything was well organized. Â Chris made it a point to show me that all the tools that he was going to use during the piercing were sterile and in there own sealed bags and the jewelry was placed in medicide before being inserted.
The actual piercing itself took mere seconds, Chris told me to take a deep breath and before I knew it, the piercing was completed. Â No pain whatsoever in either ear although about 30 to 40 minutes after the piercing, the tragus tissue did start to pinch a bit but nothing that was anywhere near painful or bothersome.
Aftercare was minimal, no saltwater, Chris told me to buy a bottle of bactine and use that to periodically clean on either side of the piercing.
Sadly I had to take the piercings out about two and-a-half weeks after having them done but while i had them, they were fine. Â No real pain, no infection...everything went well.
The only bad thing I can say about this place is that they are hard to get hold of. Â I called 3 times after they opened until I finally got someone on the phone the third time I called.
I have to say, Wow! Don't waste your time. Â We were here last November 2011 and no problem; now wtf happened. Â Cancelled appt. after showing up the day before and first says guy had to leave and he was in the parking lot buying ink out of a van. Â Calls today and says someone had to leave abruptly. Â Why answer phone, close your doors you obviously want no business.
Review Source:Absolutely LOVE Brandon!! He did a memorial tattoo on me for my daughter that passed away and he did an amazing job! :) Out of the 30+ tattoos I have, the one he did I get the most compliments on :)
Its a pretty big piece...and I was only charged $200, but I tipped $100 because the lines are super clean, the color is STILL amazing (I have had this tattoo for over 2 years) and everytime I look at it, I think of my little angel.
This place always gets me what I need. Â Every visit, every trip. Â
I get a lot of work from a lot of places, but if you are looking for an old school shop with integrity, artistry, and lovable characters this is the place. Â they've been in business since 1994. Â Why have they been in business this long? Â One reason and one reason only, they F%*kin' rock. Â Don't ever be intimidated when you cross the threshold here. Â The staff is friendly and helpful if you have questions. Â Ask for JUAN or COTY.. Â You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
AVOID AVOID AVOID
This place deserves 2 stars at the most! People here are really rude. I came here with my sister to get jewelry, when we walked in we were not acknowledge, we waited around for almost 15 minutes before someone noticed us  (even though they were right their all talking to each other.  I cant rate this for their art but their costumer service needs alot of improvement.
When some came to the counter to see what we wanted they didnt even apologize for having to wait they just asked what we wanted and their tone was rude. Im never coming here again. I had a really bad experience. If you are looking for piercings i recommend Laughing Buddha in upland they are very nice and professional five stars all around.
Love love love love Brandon! He's a fabulous artist. Not heavy handed like other artists I've been to before. Â His lines are straight, he's very professional and easy on the eyes. I will be coming back to have some other work touched up (done many years ago by crappy artists..) I have faith that Mr. Brandon can fix them. :) Very very happy!!
Review Source:This place is terrible. I decided to go here because I attend a college in the area and was recommended by a friend. The artist took down my design which was a heart about an inch and a half wide. He told me it would be $120. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! It was my first tattoo and didn't know what to think. He then told me to wait a few minutes and I ended up waiting about 2 HOURS because everyone was standing around eating lunch instead of working.
The worst part was that the tattoo peeled off (yes, like it COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED!) I went back and they said that this time they would do it differently. What? Did they use a magic marker last time??!!!
Stay away from this place!!
I started coming here when i was 15 for my piercings. Fairly priced. Cool place. Then i started getting tattoos. I highly recommend Juan. He did an amazing Japanese Maneki Neko (good fortune cat) on my arm. I gave him the freedom to do what he wanted. He put so many beautiful colors in it. It exceeded my expectations. His lines are perfect. I came to him again to cover up an old tattoo. He put a red rose on my wrist over my old tattoo. You could not even see my old tattoo at all! so happy. again lines were perfect, color is amazing. He is cool to talk to. I have referred him some friends of mine & they too were pleased with his work. I would have given 5 stars, but i got a tattoo once by Rob i think his name was. of my last name down my side. he didnt talk to me the whole time, i told him to fade the letters and it just went from black to white no fading at all! he said "it would be easier" for him -__- and he put a flame over the i. i did not ask for that. when i can afford it, i'm gonna have Juan fix it. Juan is the shiizzz!!!
Review Source:I like this place. I was tattooed by Juan. He is a very cool guy, and a great artist. I didn't have any problems with any of the people there. They all seem pretty cool. I will for sure go back to get the rest of my tattoos done here, most likely with Juan. The place was very clean and organized. Anybody looking for a great tattoo and a cool place, go to inflictions in covina.
Review Source:I've been tattooed here several times over several years and every time its been with two or four of my family members at the same time on the same day. They were able to handle all of us!
These guys work hard and are very talented. Â Not to mention the shop is always clean! I've been tattooed by different artists but find myself coming back to Brandon. He is well balanced (between color and b&w) and can do portraits really well. Â Plus he has a very light hand and doesn't smoke in between breaks.
Don't expect this kind of talent to be easy to come by. If you want  unique work, and not that hollywood hype, I suggest you go with an open mind. These guys are heavy metal, sometimes I think people review tattoo shops expecting people to pour them a latte and offer them a magazine. Walk in, look at the portfolios, let them know what you want... be realistic and get tattooed!
I showed up to the shop first week in august, had a psuedo-consultation with artist . Scheduled to start the tattoo first week in September.
I showed up to the appointment, told me they forgot about my arm and needed more ideas. I waited an hour just to have them look at my arm again and reschedule. I gave them the benefit of the doubt so i rescheduled for later on in the week. On my way to the shop they call tell me that they need to reschedule once more.
Portfolios are amazing! Unfortunately, their lack of professionalism is going to make them loose business in the future.... no wonder they don't ask for a deposit.
I've been here twice.
The first time I had my nose pierced which I brought my own jewelry and I had no problems.
My second time my boyfriend's sister and I went and got our Tragus (tissue in the middle of the ear) pierced in both ears. Before going there we bought jewelry from Hot Topic. The guy that was going to do our piercings said that Hot Topic jewelry is cheap and that we should buy the jewelry their at Inflictions. We ended up buying the jewelry at Inflictions and returning the Hot Topic jewelry. A week later after we had the piercings done, both of us ended up having infected ears. And my dad had to use wire-cutters to cut the earings out.
Lets just say DON'T BY THEIR JEWELRY!
Three piercing's one night, done by  Chris.  Served extremely quickly and in an acceptably friendly manner on a fairly busy Friday night.  All questions answered with adequate knowledge.
Facility was clean and work was done in a professional manner. Â Chris was very helpful with my nephew who was with us looking to get additional gauge work done. Â
Not being familiar with piercing pricing now a days prices seemed average or slightly high, but not unreasonable. Â While Inflictions didn't WOW me, it was definitely above average.
My Co-worker recommended this place, so I went and checked it out..When you walk in, no one really greets you or anything but whatevers.  I got my 1st tat done by James in January, 3 more tats in February with James, and 1 more again in March with James.  I figure I'd just stick with him since every time my tats come out clean, with no problems.  Pretty good reasonable prices too.  Whats funny is that I know they take appointments , but I never made any.. all 3 times were walk-ins.  I wanna get some more ink done soon, just  not sure if its a good time to be blowing dough like that...  I suggest you have an idea of what you want, what size, and where you want your tat before you walk in.  I had a friend sketch up some stuff on paper and took it in and they just scanned it, and I was ready to go.
Review Source:Crooked Septum Piercing
I asked for a repierce, he insisted it isn't crooked, repiercing it might result in another crooked piercing, it's my fault my nose is small, but of course he'll do it if that's what i want..
Hopefully it wont be as noticeable when i switch it out to a ring.. if not I'm going back and getting it redone by someone else.
It is hit or miss with this place. Their prices are okay and my sister came here and got some ink done and they did a very good job. I came here with my sister because I had just moved away for college and I wanted to do something rebellious. So I decided to pierce my belly button (anti-climatic, i know). I kept waiting until the day i had a washboard stomach but that day never came and I found myself progressing more and more away from that day. Therefore, I just said F--- it, I'm gonna get it done. The guy sold me the ring type and was so nice at first. Then after he pierced me, he became all stank and walked out after he got his money. 2 weeks later, I go back to Berkeley and my belly button is erupting with ooze! GROOOSSSS!!! My mom gave me the "i told you so" look. I then went to Zebra (review coming soon) and they were amazing! They totally re-pierced me and took care of my poor belly button and then I was good to go. I even got my mom a bumper sticker that says "my honor student gets pierced at Zebra". I can now wear the pretty jewelry with the dangling diamonds! We then went back to Inflictions a couple months later and Pooja wanted to get a price her tattoo. The same guy totally ignored us and then some little blonde-haired twit came in and he just walked out of the store like nothing. Hello? Is that allowed? But then, Pooja went back and apparently she met another guy that works there and he's amazing and did Pooja's tattoo really well! And they are priced really well too. So I guess end result, don't go to the young, cocky a**hole...go to the other one ;) I'll update later with a better description. hahaha And for piercings, consider alternatives places...
Review Source:I love this place. I first came here to get my Wu Tang covered up :( I got a tribal sun on my upper left arm I get compliments all the time. I also took my sister to get her belly pierced and another friend of mine to get her daughters name on her ankle. The way they price is really reasonable it depends on size and detail as any other tattoo spot but they are more realistic. My cover up was around $85 and my most recent was $120...
I recently went there to get an OM (Hindu) inside a lotus with my grandfather's name ( he recently passed). The guy that did was great and super friendly. I got the tat on the back of my neck so I was in a tank top. I felt way comfortable because they moved me to the back room. The guy that did the work was so cool he talked to me the whole time and I didn't realize how fast it was just blah blah blah then he was done.
Needless to say he did an awesome job... I personally think its one of my best...
So if you are thinking about getting inked I definitely recommend Inflictions.
i got my first tattoo done here. the quality of the work is great and i liked that they didn't wrap in cellophane/plastic wrap when it was done. they placed a loose sterile paper bandage over and taped it.
my tattoo was small and easy to trace over. but the color is amazing. it was done by juan and i couldn't be happier. i went in a few months later to get some more work done on it and get it touched up and juan did it again. i liked him because he was easy to talk to, drew some of it freehand, and was really nice and gentle the first time cause he know how nervous i was about getting my first tattoo.
i see people with tattoos from other shoppes who don't pay a lot of money and their tattoos just look like crap. the saying is true. good tattoos aren't cheap, and cheap tattoos aren't good.
the only reason they get minus one star is because no one addresses you when you walk in. if you don't go up to the apprentice and say something, you might as well leave. if you've been looking at books for a while and keep making eye contact with him, he won't say anything to you. there's not small talk. this shoppe isn't very personable. other shoppes i've been to have great people workin at the front desk and if you've been in there more than twice, they recognize you. not this place.
