I've gotten tattooed by both guys at Ink Sessions. The first time I came here was on one of their special days (if you follow their shop you might luck into a really good deal on a tattoo) and came in for the Robot Devil from Futurama...later I came back and got Bender with angel wings on the other shoulder. Both of those tattoos were done by Marco, and they came out looking like one of the Futurama artists had done it. I get compliments on them everywhere, all the time, including from the animators of Futurama AND Matt Groening himself! So you can be sure Marco did a kick ass job on them. I wasn't sure initially when I came into this job how I would feel about my work, as it comes across as very Hispanic, which is generally not the kind of tattoo style I like, and while the guys are able to do this really well, they are both very versatile artists and I've seen them do all sorts of styles really well. And the Hispanic style decorations they have up in the shop are actually really awesome, and I wish these guys had done my sugar skull instead of the guy who did.
I'm currently working on an Alice in Wonderland piece that Chris drew up for me. He drew it exactly to my specifications and even better than I imagined. Chris apparently used to be an animator, so he's really awesome at that style, as well as cute pinup girls. He spends a lot of time doing art outside of tattooing and you'll see them all over at horror and comic conventions and stuff...art is pretty much what these guys do.
They don't have too many people working at the shop, but the people who are there are good, and they have a new intern girl who is also really friendly and helpful.
These guys are simply amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable. The shop is very open and clean, full of color and creativity! I was honored to have Chris pierce my nipples after having a very horrible experience at 5150 Tattoo. The process was nearly pain free after I got over my anxiety! Chris was also available while outside of the office to answer any questions I had about my new piercing.
If I'm ever craving more metal .. Chris is my guy!
What!!?!?! How did I forget to review this....
Came in to this shop off of friends reviews...after going to a few shops and pricing around I chose this place...and im glad i did!
Marco is a beast at what he does and was EXTREMELY helpful and nice....I ended getting 2 tats here for $150....going back for another soon.....I EVEN HAD MY MOM COME HERE on her visit and get tatted by Marco lol
Shop was clean..staff is friendly and plenty of street parking usually...yep..ill be back definitely.
This place sucks...they never got back to me after i went in and scheduled eveything. I was really looking forward to it too..oh well. Definitely WOULD NOT recommend this place..the artis Chris seemed stoned the last time i went in there. I'd give 0 stars if i could. Â Although, Marco (i think thats what his name is) is reeeally sweet!
Review Source:I was a tatoo virgin until I got an indian kolam lotus flower illustrated on my foot. I had heard of Chris through a friend, and was terrified going in (okay so I'm a baby when it comes to pain)...but Chris was so calming and nice, and totally made the experience awesome. The entire shop was so clean and all the equipment was excellent and sterile. My lotus turned out beautiful, and he was so kind through the whole process!
I went back with my little cousin a few months later so he could get a large rib tattoo done. Marco, also very awesome and kind hand drew the beautiful text and had him tatted the same day.
They are both the sweetest guys, and I can not recommend their skills as well as their shop enough! I'm braving up for my next tattoo and I know that I will go nowhere else!
I LOVE this shop! All of my coworkers from Ralphs get their tattoos done here. I've had 4 tattoos done here varying from small to large pieces, both in black and grey and color. Chris and Marco are awesome artists and really cool guys and they really know what they're talking about when it comes to tattoos. They will not give you a tattoo if they know it isn't going to come out the way you want. They take into account size, composition, body placement, how it will flow with any other tattoos you have, how it will look over an extended period of time, etc. and everything I've had done there has come out amazing. On top of that, they are much more affordable than other shops I've been too because they charge by the piece as opposed to charging by the hour. I'm honestly offended by the negative reviews on this place because they either judged them by their appearance and made assumptions, or they didn't listen to their artist.
Also want to add how down to earth they are at this shop. They have been approached for reality TV shows several times and have turned them all down. A guy actually came in while I was getting a tattoo done to talk about doing a show and they were not interested. They're just a couple cool guys who want to do tattoos :)
I plan to go back very soon for some very large pieces that I've been wanting for a long time. Can't wait!
If i can give this guy a zero i would hes artists assistant  turned artist that is very unprofessional and acts as if hes a good artist until you end up with a tattoo that looks horrible . imagine getting stuck with a tattoo that will never come off that's you totally hate . i can tell you how that feels
Review Source:I got my first tattoo at Ink Sessions about a week and a half ago. Â I truly love it. Â I showed them a pic and they took that and made my tattoo my own - fabulous artwork. Â Healed quickly and beautifully. Â Complete professionalism. Â I had them do a full rib design created and inked by Marco. Â I could not be happier with the results. Â Everyone that has seen it, even those that are "against" tattoos have said that it is truly beautiful.
Review Source:So I went into this shop to get my first facial piercing- eyebrow to be particular. I walked in with high expectations, seeing as how everyone else rated it so well. Well first of all, I can say the shop definitely is clean and that was one plus. One big turn off though was that they were literally BLASTING a horror movie on their tv, which made me very uncomfortable, and nobody seemed to pay any attention to that. I hate scary movies, so this already set a bad mood for me. Anyway, on to the piercing. I can't say who pierced me, because he never introduced himself or bothered to ask my name. He just showed me where to sit and got all the stuff ready. My piercer was very quiet and seemed unsure of himself, as though he were really nervous and intimidated. Anyway, he pierced me, gave me a lollipop to make sure my blood sugar was ok, and stayed with me to make sure I didn't faint, which I appreciated. However, afterward, when I wanted to know how to upkeep it and clean it, his LACK OF KNOWLEDGE shocked me. I asked if they had maybe a paper or something with directions on how to take care of it in general. Nope. He just told me to go to the store and get some saline solution and put it on twice a day. That is the extent of information he gave me. He didn't seem knowledgeble at all, which made me very uncomfortable. I left confused, having to scavenge the internet for information, hoping it was right. My piercing ended up getting painfully infected and I had to take it out 5 weeks later.
OVERALL REVIEW:
Pros: Clean, sterile tools.
Cons: Poor customer service, and unknowledgeble employees.
So, I came into this shop with my sister on a saturday in December '11. Parking was easy, I parked right in front of the door. We walked in and were greeted by a super chill tatted dude (his name escapes me). Filled out some paperwork, and got my bellybutton pierced. I got the luxury of seeing a girl get hers done before me. She was close to fainting and needed a lollipop and cool air to feel better. That scared the shit outta me. It was my turn! My piercer assured me that I wouldn't die (LOL). So I layed down and got my piercing and took it like a man. It actually hurt a lot less than I had expected. The only discomfort I had was the initial piercing pressure. I'm guessing it was a bit tough to get the needle through because of my thick skin. And the prices so very reasonable. ($30 w/ jewelry) and afterwards we went over aftercare instructions, which was a simple saline solution from walgreens. Overall, I felt very comfortable, the shop is cleaner than the board of health, and my piercers were fast and chill. I had an awesome experience. And how could I forget, my sister was told that she couldn't get her belly pierced because she had no "lip" on her belly. I appreciate the honesty. He could've just pierced her anyway and have her looking ridiculous. But he didn't. Sweet Guys! I'm going back soon for more piercings!
Review Source:You won't find a better tattoo shop in Southern California! Â You can trust this place with your ink art and your life! Â The level of safe and clean is equivalent to my doctor's office and the years of artistry and experience speaks for itself. Â
I have 4 tattoos that were done by the owner, Chris and can't wait to get my next one. Â
They offer specials throughout the year where they will do a tattoo for $100. Â They are doing that today - for Black Sunday (play on Black Friday). Â You can get a tattoo that would normally cost many times this amount. Â
I highly recommend them! Â Go in today and get your ink on!
(btw... they do piercings too!)
Wow!
Walked in & we were greeted right away by a friendly smiling face.
The place Is as clean as it gets & well lit.
Got in, filled out the paperwork, got my piercings, had a nice chat with the piercer about aftercare & we were on our way.
The prices are fair & the people are helpful
when I'm in the area I will come back!!
(just a note, the description says they take credit card, but they only take cash, so just be prepared before you head out!)
