I am so grateful I found this place!
Heidi is an amazing artist. Â Her line work can't be beat. Â She has an amazing way with color. Â On a technicality she rates up there with the best. Â In terms of professionalism and personability, I she makes the whole experience pleasant and comfortable. Â She fosters a sense of trust and really delivers. Â Her prices are very reasonable especially when considering skill level. Â
Though I have never received a tattoo from Mike, I can say from the art that I have seen him produce that he is amazing as well.
I highly recommend both Heidi and Mike if you are trying to get high quality, professional tattoos. Â Not only are they great, but Jackson Street Tattoos is a professional, clean, interesting, and comfortable environment in which to receive a tattoo.
If your looking for quality ink, check out Jackson St Tattoo.
I have gotten two out of my four tattoos done here and I'm always really happy with the atmosphere, the artists and the final results. Mike did my first tattoo here of two birds and was really great at making sure it didn't come out cartoony, especially since it's a tattoo representing my grandparents. I did have to sit up for the tattoo which was a little hard because it was on the back of my shoulder, but now they have a table that you can lay down on so things are much more comfortable now.
Heidi did my most recent tattoo of some berries on my wrist and it is definitely one of my favorites. it is very realistic and she was really nice the whole time, especially since I am a little bit of a whimp (I'm on of those crazy face people) and my fingers kept twitching from the tendon movements (she actually explained what was happening and it became a giant joke).
The whole staff is very nice about having other people sit with clients and are conversational which helps keep your mind off the pain. There is always some great classic rock playing and the shop is not FILLED with a million people so its really relaxing (besides the needle stabbing of course).
I always suggest this place to my friends and will always keep going here from now on!
I got some ink many months back with Mike... I brought in a design, and showed him what I wanted.. and he revamped it.... and it turned out gorgeous! Awesome artist! I can't wait to go in and add to my sleeve. Mike and his wife were so kind...so thoughtful.. and really made me feel welcomed in there shop. I won't go anywhere else. Stop by the shop.. check out all the art work Mike does as well. INCREDIBLE ARTIST! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Â!!!!!!
Review Source:I had written a review a while back, but for some reason it got filtered ...
Anyway, Mike, the owner of the shop has done all of my tattoos so far, one being a cover up (4) & they all look great ! My boyfriend goes here as well.
Once you bring your idea to Mike, he will customize your tattoo to fit what you want as well as making sure it will look good when it goes on your skin. Every time I see his sketch for my tattoo (and the end result) it never fails to amaze me. He is very skilled at drawing and always knows what he is doing. Furthermore, he tattoos FAST. & If you have any questions about tattoos he can answer them.
The shop is very clean inside with lots of paintings and antiques decorating the walls. Quality & service is awesome.
I highly recommend getting your tattoo(s) here.
I got tattooed by Mike this past weekend, and I can say without hesitation that Mike is my favorite artist EVER, ANYWHERE. I came in with a vague idea of what I wanted, and Mike took that idea and made something amazing with it. He was patient, creative, and found the perfect balance between what I wanted and what was actually tattooable.
Shop rate isn't very high, given the quality (every single person I've shown my tattoo to, with the possible exception of my very anti-tattoo family, has been blown away by how well-done it is), and Mike tattoos fast fast fast. Getting the artwork perfect took longer than the first sitting, and he doesn't charge for time spent drawing it up - no matter how long it takes.
Great staff, clean, bright, convenient location, and fucking awesome art. Love it, love it, love it. I'll be back.
I walked in to the shop this afternoon after reading the Yelp reviews. Â I'm a newbie to the world of ink and Christopher G. was excellent. Â He talked with me about my design idea and tossed in some flair of his own. Â I'm likin' it so far.
I'll let you know how the art and sitting go too.
No attitude, fantastic art and great service i love this tattoo shop. I've only dealt with Mike, but the few times I've called and asked questions I've only ever gotten polite and informative responses.
I've dealt with alot of attitude from alot of shops, never from this one.
Fantastic mind blowing art and customer service. Two perfections combined!
Mike is the only person I will ever allow to put permanent art on my body. Â He's done three fairly large pieces on me, and countless on my boyfriend. Â He's very personable and amazing at what he does. Â The shop has an awesome atmosphere and always good conversation goin'. Â
I've had all my friends come to Admiral and they are equally estastic with their body art. Â So quit reading this and go get tattooed.
(I also wanted to note that the lady who M.W. reviewed with 3 stars no longer works at Admiral Tattoo, so that shouldn't even count against them!)
I came in to talk to Mike Barker about a design I had in mind. Â He was very friendly and when I saw his sketch I was blown away. Â I wanted to do black and grey and Mike told me that he really thought it would look better in color. Â He suggested that if I didn't want the color to pop so much that we stick to some earth tones. Â I am so glad that he made me do that looking back on it. Â Sometimes you just have to trust the artist, after all, this is what they do best.
I went back for about 4 sittings and each time was a similar experience. Â A very easy bunch of people to be around. Â As for the after care, the staff is very informative and knowledgeable and I left confident that I was in good hands. Â
I will definitely be back for more work from Mike Barker.
I wish I could rate Admiral higher than 5 stars, because 5 just don't seem enough!
I had the BEST piercing experience of my life here. Jameson, the piercer, absolutely blew my friends and I away! Me and two of my best friends all went in on the same day (one for a tragus, one for a septum, and double nostrils for me) and he took SUCH good care of us. The shop is impeccably clean, well organized, and comfortable. Jameson answered all of our questions in depth without once making us feel dumb for asking. One friend wanted and industrial but he explained why her body just isn't built for it, and was really helpful in her decision to get her tragus done instead. My other friend had concerns about being able to flip her septum up for work, and he explained her different options so she was sure it wouldn't be an issue. His aftercare instructions were FAR more thorough than any other piercer's that I've experienced - he explained, in depth, things like why you use sea salt soaks and how cell reconstruction works and it felt like a science lesson practically.
During the actual piercing process, he changed his gloves frequently, and was able to calm our nerves by just being a generally friendly and outgoing guy. I seriously cannot stress enough how comfortable and welcome he made us feel. All our piercings turned out great - even/well spaced with jewelry that fits us well, just all around perfect. I could not be happier with my new mods, and my friends say the same!
The ONLY con I can possibly think of is that Admiral is all the way over in West Seattle, but I'm SO glad that I took my friend's recommendation and went here instead of some place on the hill. It is so worth the trip. If you're worried about dealing with pretentious assholes at certain more popular shops, but want the professionally, knowledge, and skill those shops are famous for, absolutely head over to Admiral. In fact... just head over to Admiral anyway. It's so worth it.
