Kathouse is amazing! I've gone there 3 times now first time for a piercing then a tattoo. Today I went in to get my lower lip pierced, it was pierced by Courtney, she was amazing very nice and answered all my questions and it didn't really hurt at all like I was expecting it to! Love it there!
Review Source:I have been thinking on a specific first tattoo for over 2 years to commemorate my grandmother. After searching all over yelp I found kathouse which looked like a chill place. Went in and made an appointment with the owner Coop who couldn't be any nicer of a guy. He works with you and creates amazing designs (I came in with and picture and idea and he created a masterpiece). I can not be anymore happy with how it turned out and what a great time I had there. Will ONLY be going back there for any future tattoos. Thanks again!

Pricing can vary depending on what you want, but they are always having flash tattoo sales during random times, like the release of a Marvel movie, Harry Potter, etc. Â The store minimum is $80 last time I was there. Â I think they also offer CSUN discounts.
Coop is pretty legit. Â The rest of the employees are nice, I've gotten some tattoos from a few of them. Â A few of my favorites have left though.
The inside has a TV, and a arcade machine. Â There is some flash you can look at too, and some of their work as well in some books at the front. Â There are four stations in the back for artists, some share booths but they have different shifts.
Can't wait to go again! Â I'll post some photos of tattoos I've gotten here.
Came in as a walk in after having a mishap with another tattoo shop and the owner was very cordial and set me up with an appointment about an hour later. I went in and was greeted so warmly and Jason ended up doing my tattoo. It was my first tattoo so naturally I was a little freaked out. But Jason did a great job and was so quick too! This place is very clean and the entire staff is so helpful and inviting! I would definitely recommend Kathouse to all of my friends! And CSUN students get 10% off!
Review Source:I went to get my piercingly change, they often have different piercers. Good clean shop, $20 to have them change your ring. I went 3 times. The first time was phenom. The guy Jason I think changed my ring, cleaned it and provided details in what to do. He also sealed my previous ring up after he cleaned that as well. The second time I went, to get the same ring size and the other guy had no idea what ring size it was (neither did I) and just put any ring in, I realized way to late. He didn't clean the bar that he sealed and left the crust in the package. The third time I went  a lady changed my ring, and made them even, she was knowledgeable and knew what size to make the rings. But also didn't clean any of my rings. Mind you I paid the same price. Overall, ask questions and examine what you're getting done.
Review Source:got a nose piercing about a week ago, the process could've been more comfortable. Courtney has great bedside manners and was very gentle. I bleed more than usual, but she calmed me down. i stayed there for an extra half hour to make sure a clot formed, Courtney cleaned the area well and made sure i was ok before leaving.

I had seen Coop's work on a friend ... the color & detail were exceptional. So when I was ready for my tattoo, I knew who to call. Â Kathouse is clean and comfortable. Everyone there is superbly helpful. Â

Went into Kathouse today for a Tattoo for Autism Awareness month as I have 2 kids on the Autism spectrum. I wasn't completely sure what I wanted but I talked to Coop the shop owner,who's AWSOME! My previous 2 Tattoos had been with Edgar at Kathouse but he was no longer there so he pointed me in the direction of Danika! She really listened to me, did a couple sketches before coming up with a design plan I was happy with! She was attentive and funny, we had a lot to talk about while she tattooed me. I would never go anywhere else for my tattoos! The whole shop is friendly and attentive and clearly really cares about their customer!
Review Source:I was looking for a shop that was close by me to get a tattoo I wanted. I read reviews on Yelp about the shop and how clean and comforting it was and read reviews about Danika saying how great she was. I called right away to see what days she worked as I wanted to make sure I was in the right hands, although I'm sure the other artists are great as well. I decided to go to kathouse and my friend decided to join me as well. Let me say first that i was not let down by the reviews. This shop is not as close to my house as some other shops but it was well worth the 15 minute walk. It was also kind of hard to find/see since it is in the corner and I thought I was at the wrong place at first because I was walking south on Lindley but we found it so no big. As soon as I walked in, one of the girls said, "Hey guys. What's up? How can I help you?" I told her I wanted a tattoo and I wanted it done by Danika. She said, "That's me." and proceeded to ask what I wanted and where and so on. I signed the papers and she kept me informed about what she was doing from when I walked in to when I walked out. She was so nice and funny and talked to me the whole time. I never felt awkward or uncomfortable and Danika really seemed to care about me as a person and not just a client! She had a light hand and she did a great job! It was a small tattoo so it was done quickly and I was in and out in about 30 minutes! Overall, the shop was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and I'm DEFINITELY going back to DANIKA at KATHOUSE for my next tattoo.
P.S. Danika - your pink hair is AMAZING and you totally rock it. Keep up the good work and thanks for my tat! I love it!
Rocky is truly a gift from the tattoo gods! He was so patient, even when my friend wanted her tattoo redrawn 100 times ! I could tell that it was very important for him to have his work exactly how the customer wanted it. The tattoo she got was very intricate and needed to be precise, and he accomplished that! Review Source:I'm sure they're great for Tattoos, according to the reviews, but as far as ear piercings go, I do not recommend them. Â I used to come here for my piercings and the guy that used to work there was awesome. Â This new guy, Chase, is pretty arrogant and doesn't really listen to what the customer has to say. Â He tried to pass off these crappy looking earrings. Â Thankfully, I knew better than to go for those, but I feel bad for anyone who's going their blindly. Â Also, he doesn't use a clamp, which I think is important for accuracy. Â Mine are off by a good mm or two. Â Oh well, lesson learned. Â Won't be going to him if he's there again.

Review Source:After several attempts of reaching out to several other artists at another local shop that I've had several other tats done at, I started to feel uncomfortable about them and said "forget it". I logged in to my handy dandy Yelp and started searching for another shop. I called several other shops, and between being booked up and getting life stories (literally!), I looked at one last shop, which was Kathouse. I called and right away felt comfortable. I was put in contact with Edgar and explained what I was looking to get. Since it was already a little after 8, he suggested I go in the next day because the shop closes at 10 and he doesn't want to rush my tattoo. But since it was still early enough to go in and talk to him and give him my pictures of what I was after, I went right over. Right away he understood what I was looking for. He was telling me certain things of how to lay it out before I even told him. (The other local shop I've been to was telling me to put it in an area that I was adamant about not having anything there because it would look asymmetrical otherwise). I set up the appointment with Edgar for the next day. Went in, and he showed me what he came up with. It was just what I was after.. But better! He was super nice and made sure I was comfortable. He took the extra steps to make sure my tattoo was lined up by having 2 other people check it out and get their take too. He has a light hand and I hardly felt any pain. There are a few little areas that I need modified / touched up, but that's okay. No one is perfect! The owner even came outside as I was leaving to even thank me personally for my business, after hearing that I had checked out several other shops first. That was super cool of him and shows great customer service and customer appreciation. Thank you Kathouse! You've definitely earned my future business and referrals for piercings & tattoos. Thanks again Edgar & Kathouse!!
Review Source:This place is great. My initial reaction was how clean this place was. I hate tattoo parlors that have you intimidated before you even speak with anyone. There were only two people working (at least from what I saw FOH) both were Friendly & knowledgeable. I got a nose piercing from Jack who was totally professional and I felt like I was in good hands. Jack must of changed his pair of gloves at least 3 times between prep of the piercing which was totally impressive on the safety front. Â If I ever get anything else done I will definitely come back here! It cost $40 for the nose piercing which I expected to pay more, and I left a $10 tip because the service was that great.

Getting along with the artist is so important and Danika really made the effort to see what the piece I wanted meant to me. Not to mention she is a true artist- her design skills are on a level beyond anyone you've seen. I'm going back next week for another with her. This place was really cool. I've been here a total of 4 times but only got something done once. Like 3 & a half weeks ago I got my tongue pierced with Kirk and he was super cool! He made sure I felt comfortable, he was super clean and super informative. 3 weeks later I came back to get my jewelry switched out and he helped me again. The vibe is really cool in here and the people are really cool. Oh and make sure u go during happy hour to save some money off!
Review Source:Found this place on Yelp looking at "places near me" when my friend and I decided to get some piercings today. My piercer was Rob and he was really cool and funny. I walked in, picked my ring and got my naval pierced. He did a good job, especially because I had previously gotten it pierced crooked and was kind of indecisive about who to go to next. Anyways, it was a nice shop, my piercing is straight, and the price was reasonable (to me at least).

When I walked into Kathouse I was greeted by Robert. Â He was super-sweet and friendly. Â I used my csun discount and he showed me which jewelry i could use. Â I told him about my friends' past experiences some good and some bad w/getting a piercing. Â He was very reassuring and joked around a lot.
He knows his stuff. Â He's certified in blood born pathogen safety and he had a lot of knowledge and major skills. Â He opened up sterile tools and a brand new fresh needle right in front of me. Â He talked me through the whole process before proceeding and while proceeding. Â It was so fast that it didn't hurt anymore than plucking a hair out of my nose. I was blown away that it was over when it was done. Â He told me how to take care of my piercing and he gave me his email address for any questions. Â He told me to come back in so he can check on it if I have concerns. Â Go talk to Robert and have him do your piercing. Â I'm thrilled with mine. Â I've had absolutely no problems. Â I had a brief consultation with one of their tattoo artists for a tattoo I've been considering for years. Â I plan on going back for that tattoo in the near future.
I am so very much pleased with Kathouse! I got my monroe pierced and i've been terrified for YEARS of a needle. Kirk, the piercer, walked me through the processs telling me what he's doing and how it will feel and how clean everything is and how they have the best stuff. Since i have a low pain tolerence and i was compeletly scared. I kept hesitanting once he had the clamp on my lip. He let me take my time to be ready, and kept telling me "You got this!" And he did such a good job with my piercing! I am so so happy with the results. All the guys were so nice and friendly. I am defitnely going back soon. You won't be disapointed(:
Review Source:Kathouse is the place to go ! I've been wanting my nose pierced for awhile, so I looked up places to go and finally reading all the positive reviews of Kathouse I decided to go there. When I first walked in they greeted me, offered me some of their Chinese lunch ( I said no thanks ) and asked what I wanted to get done. I told them I wanted to get my nose pierced and the total w/ the jewelry it was $45 ($53 if you bought the aftercare product). The guy took me to one of the rooms, and explained the whole procedure. Everything was clean and the nails they use to punch your nose w/ is only used once. Before you knew it I had my nose pierced. Then after they told me exactly how to clean my nose piercing, and they were very helpful. The workers there were very friendly, the prices are convenient, and overall it was the perfect place to get my first nose piercing ! thank kathouse

I had come here a few times to get new jewelry for my monroe and dermal piercing. I reallllly liked this place. The guys who work here seemed really nice and helpful, and the owner was super helpful and guaranteed his jewelry. Honestly, they're a bit pricey for jewelry - I usually can save a few bucks and go somewhere closer to home butttt they were very friendly and I'd rather give my money to the nice guy.
However, my last visit was literally my LAST visit there.. I'd been there many times. And I couldn't believe the service this time (from the same guy too).. I wanted new jewelry and usually its $15 total.. jewelry and he'll swap out my jewelry. butttt today was different. He asked me if I would like him to switch it out and for convenience I said yes... he said, "ok, well it'll be $15 for the jewelry, and $5 to swap the jewelry." I couldn't believe it.. I was confused and responded that he usually always charges $15 total - why the sudden change in price?? He answered... "oh, we've been slow today.." REALLY?? Wow.. I understand when business gets slow, that sucks... but hey I'm a returning customer, never been charged more than the $15, so of course I'm gonna have a problem with the $5 more. Super upsetting since I really did like this place and always went back because they were nice. Well, I'm sorry.. you can't just change your prices because your slow - and then even admit that's why the prices are higher.
Needless to say, I won't be returning to the "nice guys." I'll give my $$ to the local guys who are cheaper in price with not so nice attitudes. Thanks for nothing..
I went in about two weeks ago for a small tattoo in memory of a recently passed family member and I had an amazing experience here. Danika was so helpful and so kind and I'm definitely coming back. And as ridiculously nervous as I was going in, they really made me feel at ease and everyone was really professional.
Review Source:I went to Kathouse on Thursday last week because on a whim, I wanted to get my nose pierced. Â Anyhow, I had been searching to see where to go and a friend of mine recommended Kathouse to me via Facebook. Â So based off of what she said, and reading these reviews, I went. Â
Kirk was the guy who did my nose piercing and he was amazing! He did a great job by explaining first, the whole process of how he would pierce my nose, the price including the stud ($45 but you can get a discount if you're a CSUN student or alumni) and how to clean my piercing once I had it done. Â Then he took me to their rooms in the back - Kirk explained how clean they were, using only hospital grade material and items. Â He made sure everything was completely sanitized, wore gloves and proceeded to pierce my nose. Â He told me it would be like a pinch, and I would go, "What was that?" and that the eye on the side where my nose would be pierced would tear up, and it happened exactly like that! Â My piercing didn't hurt, he did it very fast and I was very pleased with the results. Â He explained how to clean and sanitize using their special solution and I was out within 10 minutes. Â Excellent service! Oh and Kirk also told me to come back anytime I needed to get a cleaning done or to get checked. Â Honestly, I did not swell or anything....he did a GREAT and AMAZING job! I recommend anyone going to Kathouse for all their piercings. Â

This was the worst tattoo shop I have even been to. I have 6 tattoos and everyone of them are perfect. Danika completely messed up my tat, she destroyed the coloring, she has no artistic sense, nor does she follow directions, or have any good customer service. She is disgustingly rude and I'll tempered. She has a phony persona and doesn't listen to anything you say. Oh ya, and forget about refunds here. They rip you off and give you a terrible tattoo!!!

I just got home from getting my madison repierced for the 3rd time. The first two times were at another porlar, and the 3rd time was at Kathouse by ROB. As they say... 3rd time is a charm ! I wished I came here first. Rob was amazing! Very professional, he told me step by step process, and didn't rush anything. He also made me feel comfortable. The lobby was super legit, and clean. They had also hooked it up on giving me a good price. I researched 10 different places in the SFV, and Kathouse was the best. I recommend for all you users who are looking for a good piercer to come to Kathouse. TRUST, they won't let you down, and you have my word.

Went here to get my tongue pierced and it was a great experience, barely hurt and healed nicely. I even had a girl who was debating getting her tongue pierced watching me get it done. I don't remember the guy who pierced me but he was really nice and had a mohawk. Very clean environment and really good prices! I'm sure I'll be back for another piercing in the future :)
