Had my dragon outlined here about eight years ago and they finally updated yelp to post reviews on my mobile phone so here it is.. Well what can I say? Quality service and work.. Cant really put a price on that but shit man.. I needa finish my dragon so ay Tommy man... Why are you always so damn busy.. I need to finish up so I can start my sleeve!!!
Review Source:honestly, i didnt know what to expect because this was the first time i was actually getting something BIG. My artist is Tony Le. Hes hella cool and down to earth. Made me felt comfortable right off the bat. He hand drawn the phoenix on me which i was skeptical at right but the ending product was amazing! He took the image i thought in head and made it 10x better! im very happy with my tat! i would most def come back..well i am here now for my 2nd session lol but most def i would come back for my another piece. if you're looking for a place to go get tatted up? KT dragon is the place, hands down!
Review Source:this review is for QUANG
hes the sweetest person with all sleeved up tattoos youll ever meet.
the whole session i had with him. he made me laugh so i wouldnt think of the pain too much
i like his work, he really take passion on what hes doing.
thats what i want to know about my artist if theyre scarring me for life
thanks quang :]
This is a nice, clean, small shop with a friendly staff. I came here after going to 4 other shops today in hopes of finding someone who could do my tattoo. Quang was really nice and started to say by appointment only until I explained this was a memorial tattoo for a recent miscarriage. He proceeded to sketch my tattoo freehand and gave me exactly what I wanted. They were all very nice and I would definitely come again, with an appointment.
Highly recommended :)
I got my first tattoo done at this place.... and all I have to say is that it's G R E A T. I seriously felt so comfortable, because my tattoo artist, Quang, really made the vibe more relaxed. Haha just imagine a girl scared out of her mind getting her first tatt haha lol. He let me take my time on deciding, and made my first experience perfect. The shop was very clean, nice, and professional!!
Review Source:I went in last week and met Davis and was set that this was the man who needed to help me transform my dragon half sleeve into a full sleeve. Â He is so talented and gifted that I MUST recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs ink. Â All the artist at KT are sick!!! DAVIS YOU DA' MAN!!! Â Looking forward to finishing up my sleeve with shading and coloring in the near future. Â
I can't recommend KT enough...all the guys there are chill and super helpful. Â The shop is super clean and well kept. Â Sick art everywhere. Â Great environment for getting inked. Â You wont be disappointed if you get your ink at KT DRAGON!!!
I think more than half my friends come here to get their tattoos done by different artist, and as well my boyfriend got his coloring done by Davis. I have to say Davis does a great job on shading and coloring in my boyfriends tattoo and the staff is very friendly. This place is almost like a hang spot, everyone is super chill, and nice. Although I have no tattoos, of my own, if I ever decided to get a tattoo I would choose this place. !
Review Source:I think their work is great! Awesome shading and coloring.
However, I think it's overpriced here. And A LOT of their designs look the same like it can all be tied together. For me, I wouldn't want my piece of art to look that closely to someone else's. Honestly, go look at their profiles at their store. But nice work.
Got some ink done from Tony about 3 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the finished work. I'm sure if your looking for a artist your worried about how your tattoo will come out, from the shading of the ink to the the perfect placement of the whole tattoo. Worry not if you come here!
Most people tell me they like to try different artists after every tattoo, but I don't know how I'm going to go to someone else when my work by Tony was flawless.
Towards the end, Tony showed me the tattoo and I thought it looked perfect, BUT he still took another 20 mins detailing it, which meant a lot to me.
- I'm back for my second piece so yupp theyre awesome!
-Tommy does all my tatts.
-SUPER CLEAN SHOP!
-great customer service, made sure I ate before getting started even gave me a granola bar so I dont pass out :)
-everywhere I go people always compliments my tatts and ask where I get it done, even brought my friend here.
- dont hesistate and check it out and be ready with your deposit since they get booked up quick.
-also.........GO BIG OR GO HOME! :)
I went here with my boyfriend to get his arm done. The staff is very friendly. The artwork on the walls are amazing. My boyfriend got his tattoo done by Davis, he's really good at what he does. His tattoos come out very clean and his designs are amazing. He's also very nice to talk to, and will give you breaks if you really wanted one. He also has done big pieces for other friends as well, he's does well in black and grey or color
Review Source:I get all my work done here.
I've only got work through Tony but I've seen everyone else's work and they're all good artist' too.
I come here for all my tattoo needs. I've have about 5-6 sessions at KT and I'll be coming back for more. For whatever type of work you need, roll through to KT Dragon.
I originally lived in San Luis Obispo when I heard about this place from a guy in a pizza joint with absolutely stunning traditional Japanese style sleeves who recommended me to Tommy at KT Dragon.
I am tattooed, and shit you not when I tell you that this place is a hidden gem in CA. Though I have had to travel a ways to get my half sleeve done, I have nothing but positive things to say about this shop, or the artists. In my opinion, I think that KT Dragon is the best tattoo shop in California to get traditional asian style work done. Tommy really is an up-and-coming Shige.
The guys are extremely professional and extremely talented. They all use new top of the line rotary machines. While I have only been tattooed by Tommy, the work of the other artists here is of  the same caliber, which is to say ridiculously good. I didn't give Tommy much direction on what I wanted done except for the basic flow of the design and the elements in it, and he drew on my arm with sharpies for about 2 1/2 hours, free of charge, before HE was happy with it. I thought the first draft looked perfect, but the fact that he took all the extra time to make sure HE thought it looked great really put me at ease. Tommy also tattoos with a very light hand. If you're new to getting tattooed and worried about the pain, I promise you no tattoo will hurt less than the one you receive from him. With proper aftercare, your tattoo will look great for the rest of your life. However, this is a no nonsense tattoo shop, the guys are serious about what they do and take pride in their work. Haggling with them to get the name of your hometown in gangsta script on your arms for half the price they charge isn't going to get you many smiles.
That being said, this shop is pricier than most, with Tommy charging 160/hr, but I GUARANTEE you it is worth every penny. Your tattoos will be breathtaking in every sense of the word, and you will be glad you made the investment. Don't expect to get an appointment right away because several of the guys are booked months out, but if you can wait, you will never regret it.
Thanks KT Dragon!
I had most of my full sleeve done here by Davis, very skilled artist, especially in oriental themed tattoos. I don't have any experience with the other artists there, but judging from their  artwork portfolios and master piece pictures on the wall, it's safe to say that everyone there is equally talented in their different unique ways.
Review Source:Got my first tattoo here when I was 18. Tony hooked it up he did a custom Japanese style water snake on my arm. His line work is so precise and the coloring is still as bright as when I first got it. Did such an epic job that I came back for him to do a leopard star on my foot. This guy knows how to handle that tattoo gun.
Review Source:This review is long overdue because I got my tattoo done a while ago, but it still looks great, so it's definitely worth giving this place a 5 star rating. So a few years ago, I got a tat of a cross at Marks of Art and the guy who did it (forgot his name) rushed it and it didn't loo kso  great. People would ask me if I got a T for Tammy =(
I went to a laser center to get it removed and they ended up burning a part of my skin and it turned brown, double fail on my end.
So I went to the tattoo convention hoping to find an artist with that will not only cover my old tat up but do it where no one can tell it's a cover up. Long behold, I saw an album full of great art work by Tommy. Luckily he lives close by too! I made an appointment and had a koi fish that covered my cross.
After my sessions, I was pleased with my final result. Tommy has great attention to detail and I love love love the color, I got plenty of compliments and have been recommending him to all my friends who is thinking about getting one. He's a really laid back guy with a skillful hand, and I plan to come back to get my back and/or arm done. I just need to gather my balls for the needle part =)
A friend of mine got her first tattoo done here by Quang. I'd been thinking about getting one, too, but I wanted lettering and was super worried about the lines coming out smooth. When I saw her tattoo, I knew I had found the artist I wanted to go to. It was beautiful and obviously applied with a very skilled hand. Although they specialize in Japanese and more intricate pieces, Quang was happy to help me with the small quote I wanted for my first piece. He took my original idea and worked with me to make is SO MUCH BETTER. He took tons of time working with me on the lettering, size, design, everything. When he was doing the tattoo, he was very kind and kept checking to make sure my pain level was comfortable. And the whole time we were chatting and laughing. Also, the place is VERY clean, which was a huge plus. I couldn't have had a better experience!
Review Source:i spent about a good two months searching for perfect tattoo artist!! i found tommy's style to suite me the best. his rates are a bit pricey. 150 hr, but for something permanent on my skin, heck, worth every penny. he's booked two months in advance, (so i know he must be good!) he's very easy to talk to, funny, and makes the time go by fast. im a pussy when it comes to needles, but the whole tattoo process wasnt as bad as i thought. 35 hours later, my tattoo is nearly completely and it looks badass. now i just gotta scramble for more money to finish it. lol
(tsk tsk!, tommy, free tat session for 5 star rating on yelp, yea?)
I got mine done by Tony. It took less than 20 minutes. Fast, painless, and was very comfortable.
Honestly, I was freaked out and scared of getting a tattoo, but Tony made the experience quick and easy.
The people who has seen the work stated that the ink is dark and is obvious that the tattoo artist did a good job - which made me really happy.
I would definitely come back here if I decide that I want another.
Just got my phoenix outline done today by Davis. He is amazing! He works quickly and puts tons of detail. I didn't like the first picture much, so he drew me a second one, and it turned out to look exactly like I wanted it to. Amanda was also very nice and helpful. Overall, a pretty chill place. I can't wait to go back and get my shading done. Definitely go to these guys if you want to get a tattoo!
Review Source:Got my Hikae Fu Dog tattoo done here a few years back from Tommy... Â He's a great artist who pays attention to great detail when it comes to his work. He also cleaned up some previous work I had done from another artist. So I now have 3/4 sleeves; which I appreciate... Â Highly recommend him for anyone looking for japanese work. Shout out to the whole KT Dragon Crew!!!
Review Source:I got my tattoo a couple years ago and I was happy with it back then, but now I realize that I should've waited to find a better shop. My tattoo is a rather large piece ($1000) and it didn't turn out as I hoped. Recently I got it fixed by another artist. I wanted realistic flowers but instead I got a bunch of flowers that were the same shape and size. My artist was also late for some of my appointments so that was unprofessional. I thought that this shop was good before, but I found a better shop that this place doesn't even compare to.
Review Source:I went this past weekend with a friend who wanted to kind of shop around for a potential shop to do his sleeve. So this wasn't even for myself (although I do plan on getting more ink somewhere sometime). I just felt that something needed to be said.
The Good: They are really good at Dragons and Koi. Really detailed and creative (although some placement is faux pas in terms of the flow of dragons and koi).
The Bad: As an artist, I'd like to think I have a better eye for these things, so upon checking out their numerous portfolios, I noticed that after looking at a lot of cover up jobs, they tend to kind of half-ass the job. Perfect example: Â 2 intertwined hearts on the wrist was covered up with what was supposed to be the SJ skyline, which consisted of a couple of buildings that were basically 2 rectangles with randomly-placed windows (no more than 3 per building), an "SJ" logo, I believe a SJ Sharks logo, and some other items. A simple cover up turned into a nightmare. Also, DO NOT ask them to do portraits. A discerning eye will notice that their proportions are off, almost circus-mirror like. There was one book with numerous portraits and to be honest, out of the probably 20 that I saw, only 2-3 were decent at best. Lastly, for a shop that specializes in dragons, koi, and Japanese art, the guy behind the desk wasn't very knowledgeable. He was asked the significance of maple leaves in Japanese art and couldn't explain to us what it meant.
Overall, I wasn't fairly impressed and I was actually pretty glad my boy didn't get anything from them. We went to State of Grace afterwards and met with Philip. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer ALL of our questions with detailed answers. And to top it off, the first book I looked through had a full body dragon tat that was FREEHANDED and looked absolutely AMAZING! We walked out of their not even thinking about KT.
Quang is the sh*t!!! Â He made the process of getting a tattoo easier than getting a haircut. He is has a very clean setup and does everything professionally. I gave him a couple pics and he was able to combine them perfectly, and without hesitation I had him ink it out in my arm. It looks amazing and I'm always getting comments on how dark it is. Â People often think it's fake because it looks unreal. Â I'm glad that the other tattoos I have are hidden, this one blows them out of the water!!! Â I am not done with my sleeve yet and he is the only one that I would even think about to finish it up. Â
The staff there are all relaxed and confident in what they do. Never been to a place like this. I have a few other tattoos that I got from all over the US and there is not doubt that I've found my "go to" place. It's a little small, but that's what I like. I don't like crowds of people gathering around while I get any ink done, too many distractions for both me and the artist. Â
If you're seriously thinking of getting a tattoo, consider coming here. Â If anything stop by the shop and check out Quang's portfolio, it's worth looking at. Â Of course, check out the other portfolios as well.
I got my first piece done here by an artist named davis. I have no regrets at all, he works pretty fast and puts tons of detail into his art. I currently am also getting a dragon done by him and after three sessions it is turning out great. I would strongly recommend him as your artist. Overall kt dragon is an extremely chill place, everyone there is always easy to talk to and makes you feel like you are welcomed.
Review Source:I love kt dragon. I got 3 tattoos from them n Davis did all 3 of them. He does a very good job. I got both of my daughters name on each of my wrist and it was nicely done, I got one design on my left should it's very cute , love it. I would go back here when I need my next tattoo done, but i just need to save more money. They are a bit pricey but for being extra clean and they sanitize everything it's a plus n it's so worth the money. Would recommend Davis to all my friends n family. Till we meet again ...
Review Source:I love Davis' work. He did a huge tat on my husband's back. Davis was very thorough. We got his name from a friend who had some work done and we liked the details and shading. When we got to KT Dragon and telling him our idea on what we wanted, Davis did some sketches on the spot. Then he told us he'll work on the sketches some more and get back to us. When we saw the final sketch we were amazed. It looked so good, a lot of details and shading. After the tattoo was done, my husband was so happy. He gets so many compliments, and we recommend Davis everytime.
Review Source:The KT dragon environment is very friendly and professional, I got some of my Chinese letters redone here by Quang, He was very friendly and helpful he talked throughout the whole session which helped ease the pain alot. I had a chance to look at a good majority of their work, and I must say I was quite impressed, So impressed that I'm coming back in December for a Phoenix half sleeve which is going to be done by Tommy. The workers are pretty much chill and laid back but professional nonetheless, unlike other tattoo shops where they throw you in a dimly lit room and don't say anything to you. The Price seems to be very fair as well.
Review Source:Honestly very unhelpful. Sorry I don't look like you guys (aka gangster peepz from the four-oh-eight) but it doesn't mean you guys can treat potential customers like rubbish. Just came in here to get a quote for a tattoo (called in beforehand to talk to Tommy and he told me to come in for consultation). So since I was in the area, my gf and I dropped by the front desk and asked for Tommy, while checking out the artists' portfolios.
I already had a couple artists in mind (Tommy or Quang) and an idea for my next tattoo and how I wanted it to look, how big, and it had a big meaning to me (which they didn't bother to ask anything). I already knew that Tommy was booked a couple mths in advance, but I was okay with that since I was planning to wait til then anyway. Tommy decides, hey actually I don't feel like talking to my potential customer who's willing to drop a few for a nice tattoo, so send her off to another "available" artist.
Those people at the front desk, whoever's who, whatever, they're fking rude. They asked me what I was looking to get, and I told them my idea and they just searched on google. Wow, they are so lazy, and didn't even bother to tell me who was available exactly or any related tattoo information.
And I'm not sure about this, but when I asked if Quang was available then, for tattooing, they said he no longer works at KT Dragon, even though i emailed the shop the day before and called beforehand about him as well (I suppose they're lying, since it seems recent reviewers have been tattooed by said artist).
Not sure if this is his style but, Tony was talking in 3rd person. "Yeah, Tony charges $60 for deposit. Oh, what? Oh, Tony is available on ___ date (after looking at his own phone)...let Tony give you his card"
Me: "...okay.."
Unimpressed and without any sort of consultation or reassurance to how long it might take, placement, pricing, style, etc, I just got fed up by everyone's attitudes and just walked out. Politely, since of course, being a dick is not my style (like these guys).
Tony also gave an attitude to one of his customers who happened to call him on the phone..
Chill, y'all.. just take a few anger management classes and everything will be alright..hopefully.
These guys are super talented... I had a chance to look at pictures of their work while waiting for Quang to set up. Whoever wants a dragon, tiger, phoenix, koi fish, any type of Asian tattoo should definitely come here, I even decided I will come back to get my cover up done. Quang did a great job on my tattoo despite me being so difficult with the placement of the tattoo. He had to redo the placement of my tattoo 5 times before I liked where it was and he had no problem doing it. I probably got rid of a good layer of my skin from all the wiping. I felt so bad and kept apologizing but he understood and kept telling me that it was my tattoo and I should walk out of the shop happy. I'm pretty happy with my 3rd piece, it's a little bigger than what I wanted but they advised that with writing that small they had to enlarge it or later it'll just look like blob.
Definitely coming back for my cover up :)
The boys at KT  Dragon have real talent, very detailed & precise..hella down to earth & chill!!!!!!!!!!!! i like em i like em alot,  the girls are really sweet too. I have no asain style tattoos yet.. but my fiance and me  have work have by Quang and will be back in the future for lots more!
Review Source:i got my tattoo done by tommy last year. he has some mighty SKILLS. he's kinda friendly, kinda not. straight to the point guy. he gives you his cold honest opinion. but the guy has been doing this for years now, so trust me... take his word. (i'd still go back to him for more work).
the shop is really clean and well kept with a whole lotta proof of their hard work in their portfolios.
There are no private stations but they added their own touch by separating and privatizing your space with those pretty japanese canvas walls. it's a pretty neat idea.
finally, it's quite pricey but i am still in love with my amazing work of art. Â i get nothing but awestruck compliments on its beauty and delicacy.
I got my 2nd tattoo done and I wanted Quang to do it. He and I got a chance to discuss how and what I would like and where. He is just not my tattoo artist anymore.. he is very personable and a professional. I had no doubt he'd create something that I would love.. he knew I was nervous and did not like the pain,. then again, who does, right? He talked to me throughout the whole session!! And the great thing was that it wasn't meaningless small and awkward talks.. it was a great conversation and I was already anxious to start planning my next piece.
These guys here provide originality, ambiguity, and excellent customer service. The place is clean and I love their portfolios.. there are lots of them. You don't need to hear proof.. just come by and see it.
Appointments highly recommended. I had my 1st one done as a walk-in.. sometime these guys are booked for freaking weeks!! Again, if they would only accept Visa/MasterCard..
I had my sister here on a visit from NY and she was in need of a good cover up tattoo from a realy bad one someone tried to give her a few years ago, so I was on the serch of a great shop to get this cover up done for her, after going to at least 4 to 5 places , even looked at places where in the past I had got myself a tattoo done but none of them seemed to suit me , Im very picky when it comes to a tattoo.I couldn't find anybody in the area to match my high expectations of a permanent piece & I was about to give up and looked on yelp for 1 last place,
then found these guys ,I went to see the shop and looked at there work , I was impressed , talked to Quang about my idea's of what we wanted , we set up the date and I went home and skimmed thru some idea's more , Quang nicely keept in contact with me thru emails before and during our sessions  , that was great being I work alot , I sent him some pics of my idea's and between he and I we came out with a awsome tattoo , my sister loved what we came up with , she was so stoked ,
it was alot of work and a large tattoo across my sisters back of a cherry branch &blossoms along with birds  & butterflies ,very detaild as well , it took about 3 sittings of at least 3 hours of work each time ,
I have to say that Quang impressed me, he was awsome and fun to work with , so I feel that Quang earned a 5 stars review for his work , thanks so much Quang for such a great tattoo and the fun, I hope to have you do one for me next because you earned my trust.
great place & great work & Â well worth the price ,
I have been going to Tony for about a little bit under a year now. I get ink done by him once a month. I gotta say that Tony is legit! I am getting a jacket that covers my back, chest, and quarter sleeves.
Ive been to many tattoo shops before to explain my idea for my tattoo and many of them insisted that we start work right then and there. Tony told me to give him at least three months to come up with originals and placements. Im glad I listened to him because when I got back he had more ideas and various drawings and explanations for me and my theme. Tony and these guys are true artists that practice their craft. Before the line work Tony took out his 5-8 different colored pens and began to freestyle draw right on to my skin making sure that the lines blended with my build and that proportions were correct. I can truly say that no other person in the world has the same drawing/ink as I do on my body.
I gotta say that this shop is super clean and the guys use fresh needles. There is always a cleaning, change, and covering of all surfaces that come in contact or are within reach of bodily fluids. I get constant praise and props for the ink I have on my body and its not even done yet! Wait until its all colored in. Ill update you guys when its close to done and when its done.
I finally decided on what design and style I wanted for a back piece. I did some research and went to see many asian style portfolios in the San Jose / Bay area. Attended some conventions. went to many tattoo shops, but didn't find anybody I felt comfortable with. The Dragon I wanted needed to be very detailed and didn't look too amateur. I couldn't find anybody in the area to match my high expectations of a permanent piece on my body.
One of my friends referred me to Tommy at KTDragon. Before I headed over there, I went through his online portfolio to see all his previous work... ALL of them blew me away! People speak highly of him and his asian art. His portfolio made up my mind.
I set deposit with him in AUGUST of 2009 and his first opening for me was in December! Whatever though, I don't mind waiting for something that will be permanently put on my back.
I gave him the idea I wanted and when I showed up for my outline session, he showed me a sketch that was amazing. Â The result of 8 sessions, 27 hours later was way better and more than I expected! Make sure you come to KTDragon for ALL your asian style tattoos. Tony, Quang, Davis and Tommy are all good people to hang and talk with. Their atmosphere is fun and full of stories...
Thank-YOU Tommy! I'll be back for more in a year...
I just got a cover up tattoo done by Davis and love it!!! Can't wait to come back and finish it. He knew exactly what I wanted when I described it to him and I would totally come back for more......
The other artist there are super friendly and down to earth so you will totally feel comfortable when you are getting a tattoo or just asking about one.
I just did another session with Davis yesterday and I'm very happy with my tattoo. The pain was excruciating but it was all worth it. He always checks up on your every here and there to make sure you're doing okay. Haha and he's okay with taking breaks whenever you need it. One more session and I'm done! I would defiantly go back to him if I get another tattoo.
Davis is a great tattoo artist! He's done a bunch of tattoos on my friends, big and small. And ALL of them turn out looking really good. He's very good at details and making your tattoo look real. I would recommend him to everyone.
Oh and if you're worried about sanitization and all that cleaning stuff you should defiantly go here. They're super clean! They change gloves throughout your session which is a big plus. I was watching the guy clean up after a session and they clean EVERYTHING up. I know some places re-use things which are disgusting. You don't have to worry about sanitization here!
So this review is specifically for TOMMY but overall all the guys @ the shop are really nice & funny as hell!!
So this journey began back in AUGUST '09 when I walked in, talked to TOMMY & got the earliest appointment available which was November. (( This man has SKILLS so he gets booked up months in advanced. ))
I emailed him some designs to cover up an existing flower tattoo I got YEARS ago. Â We came up with a Koi & Cherry blossom mural for my back (see photo posted) that took 2 sessions and over 8 hours to complete. Â
Tommy was an absolute pleasure to work with & really accommodating to my busy schedule (he would text me if an earlier appointment opened up). Â He's passionate about his talent & takes pride in every piece that he does. Â THANKS TOMMY!!
Side Note: Â This place is really on top of it when it comes to practicing their aseptic & sterile technique. Â All needles are from sterile packages, all countertops & equipment are wiped down & wrapped w/ plastic wrap. I also noticed that they would go a TON of gloves throughout the session whenever I needed a break, de-gloving & then putting on a pair of new gloves. Â This is crucial to avoid blood born pathogens!!! Â SO KUDOS!!
BEST OF LUCK to all the boys @ KTDRAGON!!! $$$$$$$
Hey cuz, where should I go?
-check out KTDragon, they did the floral on my foot...
ok
I liked the space a lot, though I think because I walked on I was given to a guest artist or someone to that effect. He and I worked out a design to both our mutual vision. Not that it was a bad experience per se but it wasnt the same as being worked on by Tommy or Quang who have a personal stake in the outcome of their operation.
If I can ever get a design together that I think they would excel at, I'll be back...
I'll probably be back sooner than later.
lmao
;D
Review for Tommy - He did such a great job free hand for my boyfriends dragon on his left arm. It was actually nice talking to him and getting to know the artist yourself. He kept the conversation going and somehow we both (my bf&i) enjoyed his stories. Great Place!
i'll update my review after my shading is done (:
I got a half sleeve done by Tommy over a year ago. Â I gave Tommy an idea of what I wanted and he came up with a design that I liked. Â He explained what would work and wouldn't, I got an Koi tattoo btw. Â It took over 4 sessions (15 hours total) to finish my sleeve and Tommy was very accommodating with my schedule even being so busy. Â I remember one session, he even stayed after business hours to get as much done, which I appreciated. Â The atmosphere is very relaxing, they have good music playing in the background and the artists are all hilarious but know when to joke around and get work done. Â Even over a year, my tattoo still looks great and the colors are still bright. Â I can't wait to get another tattoo from Tommy. Â I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for good tattoo artists, also I looked over their current works and it looked like they got even better.
Review Source:This is a great place to get a tattoo! My best friend came here to get her first tattoo by Tony and recommended me. I got my back piece done here by Tony and i loved it. I came in the first time to make a deposit and made an appointment with Tony. Showed him an outline of a phoenix i wanted from the internet. Then i came on my appointment day and Tony just got his wisdom teeth out that day and still came to make my appointment. I could see that he was in pain and he forgot to draw my phoenix outline. I waited a bit while he drew the outline. It was a pretty long wait though since he didnt do it beforehand. My appointment was at 3 but he didnt finish drawing till like 7! I was fine with it since he was a very nice person and i could see that he just got surgery. So he tatted me up fro 7:30 to 10:30 about half of the phoenix and told me to come back. He stayed longer than usual when everyone else left. He only took $100 since i waited so long. I came back 2 days later and he finished my piece for another $100. A total of $200 for a back piece. It looked really good. Better than what i expected even from looking at that tiny outline online. I've came back to him to do my shading and color since then. He's a pretty busy guy but i plan on coming back soon for more tattoos.
Review Source:GREAT tattoo shop! Got my chest piece (Buddhist swastika) done by Tommy and it turned out better then expected. I gave him an outline and told him my ideas on how I want it to look like and he made it way better. Relaxing shop to get tatted up at since they play great music. Clean shop as well so you'll feel very comfortable about getting that first ink. He talks to you so you'll feel more comfortable. I already recommended his place to all my friends who wanted to get tatted up.
Also, if he's booked, he'll call you when he has an opening to get you tatted up ASAP. Awesome in my opinion.
I'll be heading back there soon to get an quarter sleeve done before I leave for the military. He's the only person I'll go to to get tatted up.
Decided to update my review - still 5 stars.
I got my first tat done here when I had just turned 18 (my first review). This year, I've been back here twice - once when my boyfriend got his first tattoo, and once again when I got my third.
Always wanting more tattoos, I thought for a very long time of what I wanted. One day, I decided that I wanted a snake down my back. When I called and wanted Tony to do my tattoo again, he was completely booked for a couple weeks. However, I really wanted to get my tattoo done within two weeks since I was going on a trip to the Bahamas. (new tat + sun and ocean would be all bad).
I ended up having Davis do my tat (since he did my boyfriend's for him, I knew he would do a good job). He was very nice about squeezing me into his busy schedule, and I was able to get the outlining of my snake done. Great job!
Now... I just gotta go back and get the shading done.. haha still
I had my very first tat done here.
I have to admit I was quite hesitant and nervous about getting my first.
I was aware of all the health risks and negative things that could go wrong, but this place made me think otherwise.
This place is run by a group of asian guys, and yes, they may seem a bit intimidating at first, but chill around a bit and they'll make you feel at home in no time.
The place is pretty cozy and is decorated with many eclectic art work such as their own tattoo designs and from other famous work.
They play good music and the environment really grows on you just because I had spent about 7 hours there.
Basically Tommy worked with me and he really made me feel comfortable and that I knew what he was going to do.  I had a fairly large piece for a first.  It was a blue koi fish with 5 maple leaves and a lotus flower on my back.  It took me 2 sessions( 4 hours and 3hours) and I still need about 1 more.
Tommy is great on a professional level as well as on the personal level.  I had my bestfriends with me, but still Tommy likes to make sure everything is okay so he'll try to chat with you so the pain isn't as bad.
I actually had a pretty tough time in the beginning, but Tommy was consistent and tried to make sure i had the best experience possible.
I'm realy grateful he was able to do my first piece.
I really got to know him and that is how it should always be with your artist.
In a way, it's kind of spiritual, as a guy once told me.
If you think about it, the artist is transferring their art and skills onto your body. Â So if you have a good relationship with them, the work will be more positive, as well as the experience.
Everything will be more memorable and just better.
Message me if you guys have any questions!
Great parlor overall :)
BEAUTIFUL work.
Go to their site, they have an amazing collection of work.
This place is hella legit. Â I was referred here by my step brother steven. Â I got hit up with a tribal dragon on my left leg as a present from my mom about 4 years ago. Â I cant remember what the dudes name was but during that time he was still in high school. Â Being my second tattoo I was nervous to have a person tat me up not knowing them. Â He had a light hang and my dragon came out clean!! it was very detailed for being tribal and get comments all the time.
Review Source:We met these guys at the cow palace tattoo expo last year and felt that their work was really the best.  We decided to get our first tattoos with them.  On our first visit we just walked in, they were really friendly and asked  us questions on what we wanted and listened. we came back on our scheduled appointment and Davis did our tattoos and i have to say he did really good work. Since these were both our first tattoos he explained how to take care of them and was very through and even asked us to come back for a revist and touch up in a couple of months. we would definitely go back here to get more work -this place rocks!
Review Source:I had a horrible experience, would never reccomend this shop to anyone. Â The workers only care about making money rather than how happy their cust. are with their work! Got a ok cover up that looked nothing like the sketch that was drawn.... Â was definitely not worth what i paid for it! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!
Review Source:I went here like 5 years ago before they blew up. Some friends and family got work done by them and recommended them so I had my first tattoo done here by Tho/Tony.
Nice guy, fair price, excellent work.
I recommended other friends here and they all came out satisfied.
I plan to go back soon for more work.
Just got my first tattoo today and it's pretty damn sick. Â I got a tribal lion tattoo on the right side of my body around the rib area. Â It did hurt, there was no escaping the pain, but the pain was tolerable. Â Linh did my tattoo and I was glad it was him because I heard he has a light touch when it comes to inking people. Â I'm satisfied with my tattoo it looks amazing.
The people here are cool and the environment is pretty nice and friendly. I liked the music they were playing too.
I would come here again if I had more money.
KT Dragon is the best place to get an asian tattoos. These guys are very talented and creative.
I got my first piece done by the Tony!
Yes, he does look really "gangsta", but he's really a nice guy.
I brought in a sample of what I wanted. Somehow, I wasn't all that quite confident about it. Tony put in his some of his ideas & I went with along with it. (I'm SO glad I did!)
I felt very comfortable with Tony. He was so pleasant to talk to, and
we took adequate breaks. We joked around and stuff, but he did worked efficiently.
While I was getting my tattoo, the other guys were chillin & talking during their down-time...and were making me laugh.
I felt pain-free, as I sat there giggling. (Tattoo pain is nothing to me, esp after giving natural birth, twice!).
The finished product came out fantastic! I was/am so happy.
And, everywhere I go-- people constantly compliment me on my tattoo!
*KT Dragon ROCKS!*
I got a back piece done at this studio over a week and a half period in July of 2006. Â I walked in to the studio and almost immediately knew I wasn't walking out of there without talking to someone. Â Sometimes you walk into a tattoo studio and you just walk out....you get a bad vibe or you see something you don't like. Â Not the case here.
Tommy was the guy I spoke to and he was awesome. Â I really can't say enough about the guy. Â Not only is he a gifted artist with an imagination but he is also very friendly and flexible. Â I talk to him about what I wanted and he worked on it a bit while I was there that very same day. Â He told me he would call back when he had something more of a final product. Â I was stationed at Monterey in the Army and when he called back a few days later, I decided to make the one hour trip back to talk to Tommy. Â Completely worth it! Â The sketch was awesome and he still had a ton of ideas to modify the original idea. Â He was never pushy about changing it but he did come up with some cool ideas and I went with some of them. Â I set up an appointment and got started on the art. Â
Now here's the best part of it all. Â Tommy was booked solid over a period of 2-3 weeks. Â I was leaving Monterey to visit my family in Southern Cal right before leaving to my next assignment on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Â Tommy said it would take at least two sittings and probably well over 12 hours. Â He didn't have another opening before I was leaving to SoCal. Â I told him that if I had to drive back up from LA to San Jose, I would. Â He rearranged HIS SCHEDULE to do my piece!! Â I got the outline done one day....went back to SoCal....drove back up to SJ about 5 days later.....and got the shading done over the next two days. Â I was charged 1200 for 15+ hours of work....Of course I tipped the man and will again seek out his services in the future. Â When I leave Hawaii in Jan 2010...I will be making a stop at KT Dragon.
I totally forgot to put a review of this place on here! I got my tattoo done back in late august or september.
Got a tattoo done here by Davis, dropped off my tattoo picture he worked on it and came up with a great rendition of it. They play 80's music, including cyndi lauper and Michael Jackson so big points from me for that! They are not pretentious, small shop, but full of good people. Mine was an Asian inspired tattoo, and it seems that is what they specialize in. Definitely a place I will go back to.
i go here to get my tats done by tony.. and i can never complain!
he did my first tat on Chinese new years about 2 years ago.. i mean with the location not being its best i was hesitant to come in but whatever. after speaking to him i felt more confident in the place and he didn't give me any BS or try to intimidate me like other artist do.
hes also done my sleeve work... i find the rest of the artist friendly and they converse with you too! you know how some tattoo artist kinda just don't  freakin care.. just want the money.. they actually make you feel comfortable.
i still gotta go back to finish up my sleeve..but even when that's done I'll still keep coming back for more work!
tony is a good friend of mine.
he might look a little mean
cause hes covered in tattoos
& gots that gangster ass mug.
but theres a soft side behind
that gangster face of his. haha.
so dont be afraid to talk to him.
but for real. tony is awesome.
hit him up & he'll hook you up.
i promise you, youll leave happy.
All Asian Tat shop. The guys here are good and they have a lot of experience. I didn't get my dragon tat here but it looks like the quality is similar.
Davis did my tat and he was really all about getting it done right and really no rush. He was really flexible and was able to change his schedule around for me. He also said I can come in for free touch ups.
4.5 stars because I didn't get any tat cream to make it heal faster.
havent been here in a while but one of my good homeboys did 2 of my 4 tatts here. Â
2 of my other friends, tony and tommy, are still here, are great artists as well  :0)  if you have an idea in your head, just tell them, and in no time your idea will be drawn out on paper. Â
if you are interested in japanese/asian themed style tatts...this is 1 shop i would recommend you look into.
My bf's currently getting a black/grey dragon arm sleeve by Tony here at KT Dragon. Â He's already got the outline done and is the process of getting all the shading done. Â Tony's artwork is amazing. Â The whole outline was hand-drawn on my bf's arm; whereas, some artists might use a stencil. Â It's awesome because you know it's definitely one-of-a-kind. Â Anytime my bf has a few hundred dollars to throw down on his tat, he can simply give Tony a call and he'll get him in. Â That's really convenient considering most tattoo shops have long ass waiting lists. Â My 2 bro-in-law's are also going through the stages of dragon arm sleeves. Â They're getting them from different artists, but they're shit's really clean, too. Â This shop is amazing!
Review Source:I got my first tattoo here after my friend Tiffany got hers done. I got a tribal butterfly design and Tony did an amazing job! Another tattoo artist said he went too deep because my tatttoo is really raised but I don't mind, I think its kinda cool. I have braille on my back! Haha. I would go here again for a big piece, but for something small I'd probably choose to go somewhere else. He also did a custom piece on my ex boyfriends back that was AMAZING. Seriously one of the best, most intricate tattoos Ive ever seen. (my ex drew it but Tony tatttooed it). I highly recommend this place, but know you're going to pay kinda a lot! (But whats a few extra for the guarantee that something permanently on your body is going to look good?)
