ok so I was shopping around for a tattoo shop that could trust, I walked in to a couple and called a couple... most of them were rude. I'm really happy I found Nick over at Livin Art. He listened, understood, and did a great job... his prices are right on the money... and his customer service was through the roof... I'm so happy.
Review Source:If i could give a negative star, i would. As far as a tattoo place is concerned, you should avoid this one at all costs. There are too many other places in the area to even consider this one. I went in with a couple of friends of mine. I was getting an addition to my only tattoo, one of my friends was looking for an addition on to one of hers and my other friend was going in for her first one. My tattoo artist did not do a stencil on a paper but did a free hand with a pen, which i thought did look good because it looked like it had detail. When i saw the final product, the line weight was different from the tattoo the he was adding onto and there were several line flaws (i could not see them until after the swelling went down). Paid $80 for a lined flame (too pricey!)
My friend who was getting her first tattoo was working with the other artist she had a specific idea of what she wanted and the artist drew up a sketch. The sketch was larger than what she wanted and not quite how she wanted it so we wanted to consult and collaborate with the tattooist that did mine. The second tattoo artist would not have it. He ended up throwing a temper tantrum like a 5 year old, crumpled up the paper that had his sketch on it, threw himself on the couch in the waiting room and started playing his PS3.
When we told the original tattoo artist about this, he gave us a look of this being nothing new. We paid for my tattoo, left and went to another place.
AVOID THIS PLACE! THERE ARE MUCH BETTER ONES!
Came here about 2 years ago to get a tattoo on my wrist. Â I walked in and a guy asked me what i wanted. Â I told him i wanted some lettering on my wrist, not too big and not too tiny. Â He drew it by hand and it looked good. Â He told me he couldn't tattoo me becasue he was still in traing and that if the owner wasn't on his way in that he would have done it himself. Â Shortly after the owner came in and tattooed my wrist. Â I turned out well. Â Now... here i am 2 years later and the letters are bleeding together. Â I went to a professional, outstanding, popular artist and they said that NO artist should tattoo letters as small as mine were and THAT close together because as the years go on, they will absolutely bleed together. Â Shame on me for not knowing this before hand or i would have asked for them to be bigger. Â
Anyhow... the man who desigend my tattoo said that if i ever wanted anything else to call him becasue he has a tattoo shop at his house. Â A year later i decided to get a big piece done on my back. Â I had an appointment with a professional artist and was on a waiting list for 5 months. Â He had an emergency and couldn't take me so instead of waiting more months... i got impatient and called the guy from Cruz Creation who offered to tattoo me for cheap. Â Stupid me! Â
He designed a piece for me that looked good on paper. Â He told me he'd do my whole back for $150. Â Pretty good right? Â WRONG! Â The piece took 4 hours... hurt really bad (more than normal since i've had tattoos before), and was EXTREMELY large. Â I wanted something that was maybe 5 inches long. Â My entire lower back is tattooed. Â Not only did it take forever, he dug in really deep, but the tattoo in the end looked like a 5 year old drew it. Â I can't even tell you. Â I got in the car and cried all the way home. Â I thought i could live with it... but it's my entire lower back! Â I feel stupid when i wear a swim suit... i feel stupid when i model.... it's very upsetting. Â I looked at this guys work as the years went on and it seems like he got better with his work. Â Maybe i was just there on a bad day. Â Maybe i was just pratcice for him. Â Either way, it's terrible.
In the end... here i am now... in my 4th session of laser tattoo removal. Â I just couldn't live with it. Â It's so ugly. Â It's painful and expensive too.
Sorry for the bad review, but make sure to research your artist and see their work before you get suckered in to being tatted! Â I would never reccomend this place. Â Go to Humble Beginnings or Staircase Tattoo instead!
came in to get an appointment for my home girl to get a tattoo she was referred to danny who specializes in tribal and hawaiian tattoos. he's very outgoing , knowledgeable and very professional. he made it easy for my home girl to explain what she wants and suggested other things. the place is clean and nice. hopefully her design turns out well and the tattoo as well
Review Source:i used to come here and get my pircings.
one they dont have your own parking lot so you have to find parking in the streets.
two i got about 15 pircings here and most of them were sur face pircings,
and they ALL REJECTED!!! i know 15 pircings rejecting isnt me. i wasted a lot of money here getting pircings here... my pircer was a woman, i forgot her name but she starts with a J.
as for tatoos ive never gotten them here.
Just got my tattoo yesterday and its sick. Didn't even have an appointment. Just walked in and told the artist what i wanted. The people are chill and friendly. Would most def tell people about this place. Not much people in San Jose do Polynesian tattoos. Born and raised in Hawaii and give big respect for people wanting to know our culture. BIG MAHALOS!!!
Review Source:Love this place. Ariel is brilliant. Â I was referred to them by a colleague, I went down there and immediately felt at home. The staff is cool and and the ambiance is chill, usually good beats playing. I was very eager to get my tat done once I gave Ariel my ideas for my sketch, he accommodated me and booked me quickly. He is an amazing artist and is excellent at shadowing! His touch is very light. I had a huge piece done on my lower back (an addition to earlier piece) and it didn't hurt at all. I read a book and enjoyed conversing with him. I also got a tat on my hip bone at the same time and he made it all work. I had to get a touch up and he is great with after-care and answering all of your questions. He takes a lot of pride in his work. I highly recommend him and I hear the other artists at the shop are great as well. His prices are very fair. Rock on ;)
Review Source:Go here for a tattoo! Billy and Ariel are both super cool guys and awsome artists. Billy did an awsome dragon to cover up a really bad tattoo that I got awhile back. He also did one of the best Koi fish tat's for my wife that I've ever seen. if you want to see it go to http://gotinktattoo.com and go to billy's latest work we are both on page 17. hers is called koi1, koi2, and koi3. mine is a work in progress called Dave dragon.
Anyways, both of us will be back many times.
