Pacific Soul Tattoo is where it is at! I was first tattoo'd by Steve 10years ago when my family moved to Oahu. I was referred to him by a local guy whose tattoo I admired from a far. I get so many compliments on that tattoo. When I found out we were moving back to the mainland, I wanted to get another tattoo to remember the time my family spent on Oahu. So, I tracked down Steve, and let him do his thing. If you want an original, one-of-a-kind, Polynesian tattoo, you need to stop into Pacific Soul Tattoo! Love my new shoulder piece which will carry my memories of the islands forever!
Review Source:Hands Down the BEST tattoo shop I've ever been too... The entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. I don't know how they managed to squeeze me in on such short notice for the piece I wanted (this place came HIGHLY recommended by my buddy who is a regular both in Hawaii as well as during conventions on the mainland) & everything that I've heard about them is 100% true. Everyone was so down to earth, friendly, great music, state of the art gear, etc... I'm looking forward to my next visit (Andy, you are a master at what you do & I am truly honored to have been inked by you). Bryan, thank you so much for the beautiful piece that you crafted on my wife's arm. Steve, looking forward to a one of a kind piece from you next as well & great to have finally met the one and only Suluape Steve that I've heard so much about. True Aloha spirit & the highlight of my visit...
Everyone contemplating where to get your tat, look no further because these guys are the REAL DEAL... If you're on the Island visiting, don't risk getting a tourist tramp stamp that you'll end up regretting forever at some random shop. May as well get a true work of art that will outshine anything you have or set the bar for anything else you may get in the future... 5 Stars is just not enough...
I knew I wanted to get a polynesian tattoo during my trip to Honolulu. I did some yelping and I had two parlors suggested. I looked more into Pacific Soul and decided on this place based on the yelp reviews and portfolios posted on their site. I had an idea of what I wanted, I saw a certain design posted on Tahitian artist, Manu's site and brought that image into Pacific Soul. I was initially looking for Steven to do my piece but he was off and I was directed to Paulo. I showed Paulo the photo of what I wanted, and lo and behold, the photo I had was an actual work he did himself! Doh! Why didn't I read the credit on the photo lol he's associated with Manu! So I got super lucky to have Paulo do my piece!
Paulo is hands down the best tattoo artist I've had the privilege to work on me, I have had 4 other tattoos prior to Paulo. He freehanded my tattoo and it was beyond what I had envisioned. I super duper love the work! His skills are ridiculous! His sketch and technique are both perfect. The shading is AMAZING. Although it hurt like a major b&**^%, I absolutely love the work. Very satisfied!! I would seriously go back and get more work done by him! I'm also surprised by how much I was charged, I really think his tattooing skills should have cost a lot more, but I guess I can't complain lol he's very humble by his works as well.
Everyone who works at this parlor were super chill and cool. Located inside a business plaza on the 2nd floor. Very clean shop. Seems like all the other artist are very good at what they do as well. Def should stop by Pacific Soul if you're in Honolulu and looking to get a tattoo! :)
Everything about this place is amazing, from the chill environment to the highly skilled artists.
I decided to get a tattoo here after researching a few places in Hawaii. I was visiting my brother for five days, and wanted to get something to "forever" remember the trip and overall beauty of the island. When I stopped by to talk to the guys they were very nice and answered all of my questions. Four days later I'm getting a tattoo done by Steve!
I would highly recommend Steve to anyone interested in color art. I gave him a picture of the Korean tiger that I wanted, but he went way beyond my expectations. His attention to detail in the fur and  the shadowing of the colors just blew me away. It was by far the best tattoo I have ever gotten (and I have four others).
This is hands-down the best tattoo shop I've been to, so I definitely say to stop by here for some quality work!
Yesterday I received a tattoo from Brian. I had been following his work on Instagram and as soon as he posted a sketch of the all seeing eye, I knew I had to make an appt. The shop is off of Ward and super easy to find. Paulo and Brian were the only artists in the shop at the time and they were super friendly. In fact, this is one of the best tattoo experiences I've had. They are really comfortable to be around and take pride in their work. Brian is young, but don't let that fool you. This guy has super clean lines and a great eye for traditional work. BTW, This shop doesn't only do Polynesian! These guys all seem really well rounded. Rates are pretty typical for Honolulu, but a great piece of art is priceless. Check them out if you're itching for some ink! Call before coming down to the shop to make sure your artist will be there (no receptionist) and bring cash for a deposit. Â Another cool thing about this shop is the way the artists interact with each other. They act more like family and are constantly asking for a second pair of eyes to make sure your tattoo is perfect. I will definitely be back!
Review Source:The best thing to do is make an appointment for a consultation. There is no receptionist, so basically the artists answer the phone in between trying to tattoo their clients. Its a small operation, but it doesn't discredit their work. When you go to the shop there are a lot of books with photos of previous tattoos they have done. Paul is a genius at what he does, he will transfer your vision into a masterpiece. As they say, leave it to the professionals.
Review Source:Pacific Soul Tattoo doesn't get realer than this. Â I wanted to end my trip to Hawaii with a tattoo to appreciate the island spirit and show my love for the culture. I am a last minute person and didn't realized I should've booked in advance. Steve was very flexible and found time to squeeze me in. I had my tattoo done the day before I had to fly home to the mainland the next day.
I told Steve I wanted a plumeria flower with tribal accents. Â He free handed the designed himself. Â I couldn't ask for a more perfect design. I LOVE it.
Thanks Steve for a great experience and also sharing stories which made the time go by so fast.
I highly recommend Pacific Soul Tattoo!! Itching to get inked.. Come here!
I found Pacific Soul Tattoo via yelp (thanks yelp!) while on vacation in Waikiki. Â My boyfriend and I wanted to experience getting a tattoo together but didn't want the cookie cutter type of shop we found close to our hotel. Â We found the right place for sure. All custom art by talented artists and a super clean shop. Â Steve was our artist and is he ever talented! Â I know he doesn't normally do the smaller stuff he did for us, but he did beautiful work and we couldn't be happier. Â Thanks Steve! Â You and your shop are AWESOME!!!
Review Source:What an awesome experience! Pacific Soul Tattoo is an awesome place to get a tattoo. Â Everything was clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I was lucky to have Paulo do my very first tattoo. Â I was a bit overwhelmed when deciding exactly what I wanted incorporated into my tattoo. Â
I've always wanted a cherry blossom tattoo and thought a koi fish for luck would tie into the tattoo perfectly; but i didnt want the koi fish to overwhelm the cherry blossoms. Â So Paulo created a beautiful koi fish with lots of cherry blossoms which was exactly what I wanted! Â Paulo really balanced both images in such a beautiful way.
Bottom line I will defiantly be seeing them again for my next tattoo! Â Might be a while though; that sucker hurt! Â But it was totally worth the pain!
TIP: If you're not totally sure about what you want be sure to do a bit more research and bring a friend or two to your consultation. Â For me it really helped in deciding what worked best for me! Â Also, be sure to bring about $50-$100 in cash when you go in for your consultation. This will be used towards your total payment when your tattoo is done.
Def. a bunch a great artists in here. Easy to get along with and having them get to know you is def. a big part in getting a tattoo. All artist here are willing to get to know you and help you to better decide in the tattoo you want to get and assist you in helping you make your decision before making a life long commitment with ink vs just giving it to you and taking your money. Â Check them out!!!!!
Review Source:They used to be on Kaiulani and Kuhio in Waikiki. Â Their shop on Ward looks really great (even better than their old Waikiki shop) Â My friend had her custom made tattoo done by Steve.- A very talented artist. Â She had all praises for him. Â Â Another friend of mind had her tattoo done by Paulo (an equally talented artist like Steve).
The Pacific Soul Tattoo crew consists of really gifted artists who work with their clients to get "the perfect tattoo".  They are friendly and their rates are competitive.
So if you are looking to get a an awesome tattoo (any style: tribal, Hawaiian, color, b&w, fine line..... etc) Â Pay Pacific Soul Tattoo a visit. Â You won't be sorry!
