Got a tattoo here, it ended up looking nothing like the drawing I brought in (angles were rounded and lines were not kept the way they were supposed to). Very disappointed, had to go elsewhere to get it covered up.

I don't know of many tattoo shops that hold benefits, let alone benefits for organizations like Girls Rock Philly. How neat is that??

Last week, Troy Souders gave me a HUMONGOUS thigh piece and it is (for the most part) healed up. It took five hours and it's my first colorful/large tattoo. Five hours on a table is a long time, but Troy worked through it, telling me what was going on the whole time. He's the best, please review his portfolio, from the shop's website, available below. http://philadelphiaeddie…

HE HAS A CYBERMAN TATTOO IN THERE, Y'ALL. OH EM GEE.

I've had strangers come up to me and ask if the tattoo is new and compliment the pastels, the shading, how things are positioned and so on and so forth. It is easy to become evangelical about him, insisting that all of my friends (and a lot of strangers) to seek him out. It's my hope that he becomes famous so that my leg can be in a museum one day.

In adult yelpy seriousness, tattoos are what you make of them. You pay for what you get and if you don't research before hand you will end up with a gauche pink moon on the back of your neck at the ripe age of 19.

The Internet said great things about Troy, my friends adore him and the shop girl told me about him being The Best. After hearing great things from friends, I was obviously stoked to get the tattoo. Getting to the shop and having (what could have been five VERY long hours) turn into a delightful series of conversations, with a wonderful person, it's obvious I need a new job to facilitate cover-ering up that pink moon. In addition to everything else that I want drawn on me.

So about a year ago, I ventured into South Street looking to get my 4th tattoo (all little and discrete), I was irritated by long waits and a terrible sketch of a quote I wanted. So finally the stars aligned, I found the perfect quote, no wait, and a professional tattoo artist with no complaints of my simple quote and font style.

Paolo was professional, helpful and courteous. He was probably a little disappointed he couldn't apply his own artistic styling to my quote, but he respected my request and even let me use their computer to find the font style I wanted.

Clean shop, cool art on the walls, and conveniently located in Chinatown, I got some grub right after :)

It's been about a week and a half since I got it done and practically healed.

Definitely recommended and if I have another itch, I would definitely go to Paolo!
