I received a tattoo from Ruben hear a few months ago, and it was probably the best tattoo experience I've ever had. I walked in on a random night just looking for ideas, spoke with him about a very vague idea (I want a rose on my foot.) and left with an appointment for two days later. When I got overly excited and wanted to come in a day early, I called and asked and he said sure no sweat. This time I went in with pictures of what I was looking for, and although he had already drawn something up, he went back and adjusted 3 times until I was satisfied. Then, after telling him a very specific, difficult color scheme I had in mind, he worked with me to figure out how this would best accomplish the look I wanted and still be a good tattoo. And 3 and a half hours later, after staying 2 hours after the shop closed, Ruben gave me the best tattoo of the 6 I have. I get complimented on it by literally everyone who sees it, and it's more beautiful than I even imagined. So happy I stopped in this little hole in the wall, especially considering I got all this at a very reasonable price.
Review Source:I went to Ruben for rosary tattoo and it came out great. I went back to him a few months later for a tree and it too was just right. I went back once more and asked him to add a background and he gave me clouds, sun, birds and the words this too shall pass and it brought everything together perfectly. I will be back.
Review Source:After seeing their work online, I decided to stop by, as I was interested in getting a cover up done.
When we walked in, we weren't acknowledged, even though there was someone at the desk. Having a conversation with the apprentice was challenging and awkward. He was completely out of it, and responded in one word answers.
Since I have sensitive skin, and I'm allergic to nickel, I facebooked  Poison Apple to ask about the ink they use. Initially, I was told I'd have to come in and ask, but after explaining what happened when I had stopped in, I received a nice message from Mike, apologizing for the situation and telling me he had emailed the company that makes his ink about my questions.
Unfortunately, that was in July, and I never heard anything more from them.
I still haven't gotten my cover up, so if anyone out in yelp world can recommend an artist....
