  This review is based SOLELY on my customer service experience at Royal 1. I didn't get any work done because the service I received was rotten. I called to inquire about appointments and talked to a helpful woman who let me know that without a down payment, I couldn't make an actual appointment but she let me know that there was an opening for a few hours later and they could get me in as a walk-in, or I could schedule an appointment then. I show up at the allotted time, (early Monday evening... their closing hours are midnight on Mondays) and the doors are locked with two dudes chilling on the couch in the middle of the studio. One of them yells through the locked glass doors that they closed early and I explained why I was there and asked if I could just make an appointment for later on. The guy claims he doesn't even work there so he can't even let me in to book an appointment (why are you telling me you're closed if you don't work there.) and I will just have to come back some other time.
  My friend and I ended up going to Randy Adams on Lancaster, Smitty did our work and we are extremely happy with it, and everyone we met in the shop kicked ass. I was much happier finding a place to give my business to where the tattoo artists didn't act like artists frequently do - lots of attitude that reads more as 'I've never had a job wherein I've actually had to work'. I'm sure Royal 1 does a fine tattoo job, but this place just wasn't for me. I don't respect rude. Customer service is still customer service no matter what your occupation is, and theirs needs some work.

  I got my first tattoo done here by Joe (who is now at Salty Dog).  Bobby the assistant was very nice, as was Joe.  I love the outcome of the tattoo & am very satisfied with JOE's work.  The place is very nice and clean, also.  The second time I went in to inquire about getting another tattoo, the two artists that were there were extremely rude!  I would NOT recommend getting a tattoo from there unless you are getting work done by Taylor - he was very nice & did my friend's tattoo when I got mine done.  As for the others, I couldn't tell you about their work but their attitudes were horrible.

  This is an awesome tattoo shop. They are great artists that happen to be incredibly friendly. The shop is always clean and is constantly full of people. I wouldn't recommend another shop in Ft. Worth more than Royal1.
