Absolutely THE worst place you could possibly choose. My wife and I went in on Tuesday October 8th, our 30th wedding anniversary to get tattoos to Commemorate the occasion. We wanted them done at that time but Eddy reminded us that we wouldn't be able to lay in the sun or get in the water with fresh tats so we scheduled for Friday the 11th at 8pm, the day before we leave. We went in on Thursday the 10th to reschedule for 6 at which time they stated no problem and if you can come earlier would be even better. Called @ 3 pm Friday to see how early we could come in and was gruffly greeted with "6 o'clock will be fine". We arrived at 5:58 pm and stood around for several minutes - Eddy was doing a tat. Some guy who was on his cell watching 40year old virgin on Oxygen finally decided to get his rear off the couch to see what we where there for. REALLY! Then he seemed bothered by being disturbed by us. We'll by now I'm out of there, requested our deposit money back NOW. They fiddled f'd around for 10 mins before they could produce 2 $20 bills, basically screwing with us cause they just screwed up a $200 plus job. Attitude is everything you stupid people! Just my FYI for anyone staying in waikiki wanting a tat.
Review Source:My mother and sister went in to this shop earlier today. They were greeted by some cold individuals who told them that they could not have their work colored due to their skin tones. My mother is a light skinned black woman and my sister is a little darker, but not as dark as I am and I've got several full color pieces. Last i checked Hawaiian people range in the same hues of beown as we do. They were then informed that before they could set a reservation, they had to put down a $40 deposit. Â The vibe picked up there was not a friendly and welcoming one and that is NOT the experience my mother and sister will have for their first tattoos. Â Sucks because I recommended this place.
Review Source:April 23rd, I had a walk in to see Eddy for a dermal piercing. It was a good experience but I had to wait for over an hour and I didn't know why until over an hour later happens and when I was called to go up stairs I realized he was already doing a tattoo, I just wish they had told me that so I wasn't just sitting down stairs all awkwardly for a long time. And My friend got her piercing from him too and we both realized we had different experiences. Like I had to sign a paper about something, and she didn't. And he was giving her a hard time about her dermal piercing because it was near her tan lines, and he was nicer to me telling me to go eat something before the piercing. And hers was only 50$ while I had two off them and he said it would be 100$ but he like added 4$, which isn't bad I was going to tip him anyways. He was nice and told us to contact him for any questions. And our piercings are still good and healthy today.
Review Source:Came in for a walk in navel piercing around July. My piercer advised against an inverse piercing (bottom instead of top) so I decided to get top done. He made sure several times that it wasnt crooked before he started. The whole process was quick and easy. The only thing that bothered me was he didnt use clamps but regardless, it came out straight. 50$ includes jewelry. Loveeeee ittttt thank you!
Review Source:I went to Sacred Art back in 2009 on my honeymoon! I stopped in there on a whim in the evening one day and got my "Mrs. Smith" tattoo with a beautiful flower. The guy who did it was just phenomenal! He took me in right then for the tat and helped me choose what I would like. It didn't hurt at all and didn't take long either. Next time I'm in Oahu, I'm stopping back by there!! Hands down best tattoo parlor i've ever been to.
Review Source:Located in Waikiki near the Ilikai Hotel. Sacred Art Tattoo is a shop that stand above the rest. It offers quality work without the overpricing that Waikiki tattoo shops tend to have. The staff is nice and willing to work with you. I went there to have my ears stretched to a 8 gauge. I usually go to Loyalty Tattoos in Kailua. Today the piercer was working out of Loyalty Tattoos. Kevin Read is a down to earth guy who loves his craft. He did my ears in no time with no blood and no pain. I did skip a size which is taboo but he let me know the problems I may have but I did it anyways. People who know me know that I'm spoiled when I want something. I hate waiting. TwoBit is the usual piercer there and I will go to him to get my ears to the end goal which is a 0 gauge. This is just one persons opinion, I do research when I do something or buy something. I go in and look at the person and see their books. Sacred Art Tattoo is heads above the rest.
Review Source:I've been coming to this place for close to 13 years. First it was Aloha Tattoo, then Liberty Tattoo, and finally Sacred Art Tattoo. The staff is great, very friendly, and very artistic. I have been getting my work from Mike H since the first time i came to the shop. Currently (slowly) working on a custom full back piece, can't wait to get more work done!
Review Source:While walking by I decided to pop in to see if they had a selection of ear plugs. The plaza they're in is under construction but they were still open. The place is cramped and right near the front door is one guy's work area.
He was nice as he greeted us while we entered. So the two stars is for that. I ask they have any selection of piercings and plugs. He says no, then out of the back we hear a shout, "There's a Hot Topic at the mall."
Real good buddy, way to alienate any semblance of a potential customer.
