Went to visit in an effort to scope out places for my first tattoo and while I can't speak to the quality of work, I was immediately put off by the people who work here. Overpriced based on a small piece I showed and inquired about and the staff seemed uninterested in either me or my friends' ideas...in the end it was an overall unwelcoming vibe there. I know that's not as important as the tattoo work itself, but for a former first-timer, it was a major turn off. :/
Review Source:I have several tattoos and I am in the process of completing a lower leg tattoo currently. Â Brian Charles at Sink the Ink in Doylestown, PA has done all of the work, which began two years ago. Â I have had more than 15 hours of work done with Brian.
He is creative and thoughtful, provides honest feedback about designs and ideas. Â His line work is outstanding, but most impressive is his use of color. Â He creates shades and blends pigments beautifully. Â I would not get inked by anyone else.
The shop is a very nice venue but needs a receptionist.!
Not sure what my "agenda" is... I am just writing my impression of this shop and tattoos I've seen out of it. I even just took a second look at updated portfolios....still sticking with my original review. Â Not on par with the area's heavy hitters. If I have an agenda, it's to push for more from shops in the area.
Review Source:I've gotten tattoo's and piecings at Sink the Ink in Doylestown and Willow Grove. I love the Willow Grove location because it is close to work and I can get a small tat or piercing on my lunch break.
I prefer the female piercers and I've only gotten tattooed by women there. I just don't think that there is a better place around for miles.
The shop is super clean and the employees are all nice including the owner, which is a plus because some tattoo shops are full of jerks.
I would totally go back for another tattoo and/or piercing.
I've had a few experiences at Sink the Ink.
1. My first tattoo, done by Lou = 5 stars.
2. My second tattoo, done by someone who I believe left the shop (can't remember his name, can't find him on the website) = 5 stars.
3. My industrial piercing, done by Lou, began imbedding itself into my ear. That's right, the bar began cutting itself into the cartilidge of my ear to the point where I could no longer see the bar. I called the shop when I realized that this was becoming a severe issue and spoke with Gabs. He had me come in and he re-pierced my ear, using two separate needles. The re-piercing hurt a lot less than the initial one, and Gabs explained that these types of piercings should be done with two needles instead of one (which was the way Lou did the piercing, initially). Gabs saw me quickly and didn't charge anything to have the piercing re-done, so I'm going to give that experience 3 stars, even though having the bar imbed itself into my ear wasn't the best experience in the world.
I also referred a friend of mine here to get a tattoo she was dying to have done, and I forget who did it for her, but I recently saw her and it turned out amazing. Would defintiely recommend for tattoos!
Visited Sink The Ink to get my 6 yr old's ears pierced for her birthday.  She'd begged for months and accepted that it would hurt, so we decided to go for it.  Spoke with Joe on the phone to schedule, he was very helpful and friendly.  Shop is very clean and well-lit, empty except for 4 employees and two people getting tattoos.  Joe had suggested they do both my daughter's ears at once, so she had a piercer on each side of her and it went by so quick she didn't have time to shed a tear -- I was very surprised.  The piercers were quiet, it might have been nice if they were more out-going and bubbly, but  . . . eh . . .
It was clean, it was fast, we were happy.
