Cody did my tattoo, a quotation in a specific font, on my back in a one-sitting walk-in. He was fantastic and fast, and I chose him due to his extensive work with text. It looks fantastic and I am complimented on it all the time. I plan to get more tattoos, and I'll definitely be going back to Yellow Rose.
Review Source:MIRACLES DO HAPPEN.... I want to give a big thanks to Jon for fixing my Dandelion Tattoo.
Yes, as in my previous post (dated 10/15/2012) Â I had been waiting since March to get my tattoo fixed, but it finally happened. Â I'm assuming that my NEGATIVE but HONEST review may have made Yellow Rose take notice
Thanks Yellow Rose for contacting me and making things right!
Again, thanks a million times over Jon for a beautiful job!

I went there cause they had walk in times.I wanted to get the deathly hallows symbol, so I did, on the back of my neck. It was real cheap compared to other places costing $50. and only took five minutes. Matt did it for me. I was kind of surprised cause it seemed like they were just doing another job for a pay check and didn't really care that much, so it created an atmosphere of intimidation. I was afraid to ask questions. It felt like they weren't really interested in you, just the job. I had to sit in a chair that I thought was going to roll away any time and have the needle slide across my neck and screw it up. I had to put my neck down... so it was kind of a weird position for doing a tattoo I thought. They don't provide any tattoo goo and I told him I wanted a bandage instead of plastic wrap. Even so, he didn't even tape it that well to my neck.
I had to go to Walgreens to get ointment. The tattoo looks great though. I'd say check it out if you already have ink.
I got my first tattoo at yellow rose this past week. Â it was a clean shop, friendly staff, and overall great experience. Â the artist was confident, comforting, and professional. he quoted the art would take 1 hour and 30 mins and he finished flawlessly in 45 which was awesome because i got my tattoo on my ribs. Â i am extremely happy with my tattoo and will recommend this shop to my mother when she finds out what i've done. :) Â overall positive 5 star experience! Â oh yeah, and badass t shirts
Review Source:Awesome shop. A friend recommended this place and after waiting a few months for an appt I finally got my tattoo started. Jon C is simply an amazing artist. I let him do his thing and he drew an awesome volcano on my arm and spent all 3 hours of our appt outlining and shading. I came back for another intense 3 hour session and got some great color put in. He gets a ton done and if you can handle it he'll work straight through. One more session to go and I can't wait.
Jon C is worth the wait especially if you have a large intricate piece.
I got a tattoo here on the 29th and I love it.
I made a last minute appointment here after finding out that this used to be 19th Street. Everyone was really friendly, the place was very clean and bright. I got Arabic writing on my back and Cody (who did the tattoo) did a great job and got all of the little details right. Details are important to me, especially since Arabic script has so many intricacies and Cody taped a blown up version of the script onto my back next to where I was getting the piece done so that he could get it precise and accurate. That isn't too impressive, what is though is that I didn't even have to ask or tell him how important the details were. My old tattoo artist sometimes had a mind of his own and I had to be very clear and almost demanding about how I wanted my pieces done. Cody just took the initiative and made it look exactly like the print out of the scrip that I had.
Wonderful piece! The lines look great so far (it's not done healing yet but well on its way). There is no bleeding of the ink, all of the script is even, well filled in and detailed.
I'm definitely coming back to get work done by Cody if I want any more tattoos.
My experience here is a little different. I didn't get a tattoo, but came to make an appointment for someone else.
Jon C. Is apparently highly sought after and is booked for a few months in advance. We found out via Facebook that he would be opening up his calendar for the next 3 months and to get an appt you had to come in person at 11 am on a specific Monday and leave a $50 deposit. Well, he had to work and I have a more flexible schedule so I arrived at Yellow Rose at 5 mins til 11 and was stunned to see 7 people already waiting in line.
Usually tattoo appt guys are incredibly douchey, but not at Yellow Rose. Though there was a line out the door and the phone was ringing off the hook, they treated me and everyone else in line with the utmost professionalism. I was very impressed and can't wait to return to see how the actual tattoo appt goes.
I went to 11th St. Electric Gallery a few years ago. Â Thought I'd visit Yellow Rose for some new ink.
Total waste of time. Â These guys are condescending, holier than thou, drop outs.
Granted, I only have a few tattoos, but they treated me like a 2nd class citizen. Â Maybe because I have a job and drive a car. Â
Perhaps they only give tattoos to hipsters and guys who have janitor key rings and fixed gear bikes.
Go elsewhere, unless you enjoy dealing with weirdo prima-donnas.
