Despite the bad reviews I wanted to take the opportunity to support local small businesses with a Groupon deal. Unfortunately, my experience was unprofessional. To start, the ease of booking an appointment is virtually non existent. There is no one to answer the phone or return phone calls so it forces customers to result to the "texting" option, which may sound convenient at first, but it's not. The response takes hours if not days in some cases. The excuses seem in line with other yelp reviews and in my case it was a road blockage on the fourth of July and food poisoning the day prior to my appointment the second time. I also received a confirmation text of an appointment at 10PM the night before. It's ironic because the confirmations state that there is a fee for cancellations or late arrivals. I did manage, after much effort, to complete 2 out of the 8 sessions. It was too much of a hassle. I felt like I was working for her not the other way around. Needless to say, Groupon refunded my money. Also, her location is currently in Old Town Scottsdale.
Review Source:Sadly, my experience isn't much different than the others. Â I bought the Groupon for the 4 sessions of laser lipo. Â My first appointment, I drove to the Phoenix address and found an empty, unlocked office. Â I called and called and found out that the address had changed. Â I drove to the Scottsdale office, which is better than the previous and has continued to improve in appearance. Â She was not there. Â There is a couple that shares the office and does hair and the like. Â They now have their own room. Â He couldn't get ahold of her either. Â Needless to say, I felt that I had been scammed. Â She did text me later and I received 5 appointments to make up for the inconvenience. Â There was some rescheduling and one appointment that she had me down for a different time than I had. Â She is very young and I believe got married last month. Â She is pleasant and I have found that the room is in much better condition than stated in a previous post. Â So, she gave me the Groupon price for another set of 4. Â (I figured what the heck, the results were not what I'd hoped for.) Â First appointment was cancelled because she had an out of state family member very ill. Â Understandable. Â She texted me later and asked me if the 6th or the 12th (June) would work. Â I texted back the 6th. Â Up until now, I had been getting confirmation texts the day before. Â I did not for this one so I texted asking about the time. Â No response.
She did tell me at my last visit, that she was getting a partner of sorts.
I believe she has the potential and some great ideas to run a cool, little spa, but it is apparent that she does not currently have the skills. Â This has been an example of you get what you pay for.
This is seriously the worst case of fraud I have ever encountered. Â I purchased a laser hair package from them, and the owner has yet to keep an appt with me. Â She has cancelled 3 in a row. Â And she doesn't even call. Â She texts. Â This a joke. Â When I asked for a refund she basically laughed and said good luck with that. Â Seriously, she should be in jail. Â I see now I'm not the only unhappy customer. Â Wish I had read her reviews before I paid. Â Lesson learned. Â BEWARE!!!!!
Review Source:DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THE FACTORY MED SPA!! I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY HAVE THIS LISTED UNDER MELVIN'S NOW - MAYBE TRYING TO HIDE THEIR BAD NAME? BEYOND TERRIBLE customer service. My 1st appt the owner failed to show. I called and called while waiting outside their office. NO answer. Finally a girl picks up the phone and said the owner cancelled all her appointments today for "personal reasons". Ever hear of a back up?! I drove all the way from Mesa to Phoenix for this appointment. Her remark was: "I'm sorry we must not have had you on the schedule or we were missing your phone number". Ugh so unprofessional. She said she could rebook for tomorrow. I said okay. Next day: I show up. The place is BEYOND filthy. First of all, the building resembles a shady apartment complex and I was a little afraid for my safety. I walk in. The front office is tiny. The one and only room they have for services is used for hair coloring, cutting, massages, laser tattoo removal, laser hair removal (I could go on). Omg is my first thought. My session was super fast and I knew she didn't cover the area I was having done adequately, however, I didn't comment. I figured I'd ask questions at my 2nd appt. When she left the room, I had to wipe the bottom of my feet off on the multipurpose "bed" (for lack of a better term due to the fact that I was unsure of everything she uses it for) of what felt and looked like hair, dirt, cat litter (you name it). I felt dirty after leaving. I was given a reminder card for my next appt (February 11th). She said she was moving to a new location March 1st and at my next appointment (Feb 11) I would be given info on where the new location would be. So, today was Feb 11th I show up and ONCE AGAIN the owner failed to show! This time the door to her office was open. I walked in to find the place COMPLETELY GUTTED of everything except her business sign she left behind. I call the number on the sign to let her know I was at her Phoenix office for my 2pm appt. I must've called her 100 times. NO ANSWER. The voicemail was full so I couldn't leave a message (I'M ASSUMING FULL OF MSGS FROM OTHER FURIOUS CUSTOMERS). The address of her new location (all the way in Scottsdale) was mentioned on the voicemail. So, I drove from Mesa to Phoenix then all the way to Scottsdale (TO NOW FIND A CLOSED OFFICE IN SCOTTSDALE)! UGH!! I RECEIVED NO PHONE CALL FOR A CANCELLATION AND NO PHONE CALL REGARDING THEIR LOCATION CHANGE!! VERY, VERY, VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THIS WOMAN DOES NOT, I REPEAT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS. SHE HAS EXTREME LACK OF COMMUNICATION WITH HER CLIENTS AND NEVER, EVER ANSWERS PHONE CALLS. She has a high school or college student who works from home and the owners calls get forwarded to her! I could go on about her EXTREMELY INADEQUATE "assistant". She proceeded to send me texts to my cell phone to attempt to apologize for the owners SECOND NO SHOW. So, so, so unprofessional. HOW ABOUT A PHONE CALL?! WORST SPA EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE BY FAR. IF YOU KNOW ANY BETTER - PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE FACTORY MEDSPA!! TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS GONE THROUGH IT - YOU WILL REGRET EVERYTHING ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE. Also, if you're thinking about buying a Groupon because of the cheap price. Please realize the cheap price comes w/a steep cost of no shows and no calls. JUST DON'T DO IT - IT'S NOT WORTH IT. One last thing - as of today February 11 - THE FACTORY MEDSPA'S WEBSITE AND AD ON GROUPON LIST HER LOCATION IN PHOENIX!!!!!!!! DARE I SAY IT AGAIN. UNPROFESSIONAL. UNORGAINIZED. A MESS OF A BUSINESS. NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE.
Review Source:8/8 - Yelp removed my review stating I didn't have "first hand customer experience at this new location". Â I specifically placed the review to link to her new name "The Factory Med Spa".. please... med...spa? Gimme a break.
Yelp: You know what... just cause I didn't have a bad experience in the new building doesn't discount my opinion. Same girl, same owner, same company....same damn thing. Go ahead and remove this if you want to but I've had emails from others thanking me for my review and stating that they wish they had read it sooner.
I got screwed and so did everyone else. It's fair game. I am only spreading word of mouth. THAT IS THE POINT OF YELP...ISN'T IT?
... ANYWAYS.
UPDATE: This is why children shouldn't run a business just because they have the start up capital.
You are dealing with a very young girl who is just not aware of how the world of business works....and you will most certainly regret wasting time and gas to show up for your appointments.....IF THEY EVEN REMEMBER YOU HAD ONE.
Whatever her name is, scheduled two appts for me. On the weekend of one of the appts, I was running late. I sent a text (cause that's how she operates.....pathetic) to make her aware....she didn't have me on the schedule...even though she booked the time and day.
When I was leaving, another lady walked in and was immediately greeted with "Do you have an appt? " Total nightmare...stay away and get a refund from Groupon right away.
No coherance to the business operations whatsoever.
When they make a mistake...they say "MY BAD" ....WTF????
Original Post:
So far, I don't have a good feeling about this place...and it's only been a few hours.
Talked to someone this morning, schedule an appt, called back with questions and to try and get the other 3 appts for my Groupon out of the way. Phone has been off all day, or she's just not answering.
Pending a response from Groupon to cancel. It's really getting to be a problem with any of these "deals" anymore. These merchants just don't want to honor their commitments.
Sure, they want their name out there but when it comes time to get down and dirty, they somehow manage to ruin the whole experience as if they are doing us some great big favor or something.
I thought this was supposed to be a win/win?
I bought their 60-minute massage and classic facial on WeeklyPlus. After repeated calls and unreturned messages, I finally caught someone on the phone and was able to make an appointment. The Factory rescheduled my appointment twice before cancelling it just two hours before the most recently scheduled time. Repeated calls get no answer, and messages are not returned. I've asked for a refund from WeeklyPlus.
