How do I love Olivia? Let me count the ways..
Best artist ever, very attentive, detailed and a great conversationalist.
The store is really clean and has great vibes.
Fellow cat lover, you can't go wrong with that.
She does amazing work, and fire on the mountain is next door for your hunger needs.
I have had a lot of artists work on my body, and she by far puts them all to shame.. yet remains humble and is such a great person.
I have had a few friends get work done by her too, and all of them have had pleasant experiences.
Thank you for your art!
My wife and I were recommended to Ms. Mikki from two different friends. Â The shop and the artist were everything people say it is and more. Â Aside from her professional demeanor, her considerable artistic skills, and her vast knowledge about her profession, Ms. Mikki is good company! Â She a great conversationalist with a deep intellectual curiosity that this retired teacher really appreciated. Â Since we were a bit older (mid-60s) there was some initial apprehension about how comfortable we'd feel and how we'd be received. Â That vanished the instant we entered the shop. Â Both our tattoos exceeded our expectations in color and design.
Review Source:This is my third tattoo in Portland, and my first in 10 years. I did a lot of research (there are 150 tattoo parlors in PDX!) and after meeting Mikki and her staff I was really impressed by how professional, artistic and friendly the artists are. Olivia B. did my tattoo, and she worked over three versions before we arrived at the final version. She was friendly, really competent, and attentive. Thanks Olivia! I'll be back for more pieces soon!
Review Source:I have a few small, hand size pieces that I've gotten before I came to Fortune Tattoo. However, this experience was like a new beginning of tattooing for me, and I now characterize my sleeve as part of my identity.
As a tattoo "amateur" I had some anxiety in approaching a tattoo shop with several unorganized, non-linear frames of ideas. A sleeve was to be my biggest and most substantial piece done and I wanted to find a place where I was comfortable opening up my mind to an artist. Miss Mikki helped alleviate my anxiety by supplementing my own inarticulate creativity into a sleeve of great depth. Often I found myself floundering on a theme that I couldn't quite put my fingers on--at one point it was suggested that I "surrender to the experience," and what prudent advice that ended up being. My ideas were taken to an entirely different plane of imagination and surrealism that I couldn't have conjured with the help of a magic wand. There was never a session in which I felt I wasn't in great hands. As my sleeve came together one-by-one (one more session to go!), I am certainly glad I went to Fortune Tattoo.
The adjectives to describe Fortune Tattoo, including Mikki and her colleagues are abundant; welcoming, genuine, creative, respectful, professional, clean, courteous etc.
If you are in a boat of certainty or uncertainty with regard to where you want to take your ideas, I strongly encourage you to browse the portfolios here and seek a consultation with one of the artists at Fortune Tattoo. You will not be disappointed.
Wow!! This place is wonderful. So clean, professional, and a great vibe. I went here while visiting Portland and am more than pleased with my artwork! I walked in and was able to get an appointment later that same day. Olivia was amazing. Such a skilled artist and made me feel comfortable throughout my first tattoo. I will fly back to PDX to visit fortune tattoo and Olivia for my next addition!!
Review Source:What I love about this place:
Ms. Mikki is a true artist. With the most gentle touch. Amazing spirit. Â Love and kindness radiate from her. Â
The shop is light, clean, inviting, friendly and organized.
As for my tattoo, I couldn't love it more. Â I went to Mikki with an idea and emailed some pictures. Â What she came up with was beyond my highest expectation. Â We've completed 3 sessions and each time it is more and more beautiful. Â I'm not sure how it is possible, but its true. Â Green Tara just keeps getting better.
Just retired from 27 years of service with the Marine Corps. Looked up Fortune Tattoo and sent an email about getting a Marine themed tattoo. Ms Mikki recommend Olivia for the job. She hooked me up with an awesome tattoo depicting my time in the Corps. If you want a quality tat, this is the place to go.
Review Source:I recently got my first tattoo at Fortune and it's lovely. Â Ms. Mikki pulled me through the process with the ease of an experienced guide and I am so grateful to her. The color (from what my friends that have lots of work have told me) is exceptional and I think that the details are beautiful. I am going to go back and add to the piece soon.
Review Source:I came to see Mikki with an idea. A couple weeks later I came with more ideas (about 10). I vomited images and thoughts onto the desk and returned a couple weeks later to see what could be had from it. I told her "I'm not sure about this and that" she said "trust me" so I sat for a 2 or 3 Â hour session. It hurt but that's kinda what your paying for. Mikki said "its like tattooing a bag of fish" as I had a hard time keeping still. In the end I am so completely happy and amazed at how well it came out that words defy my ability to properly use them. I am 38 and have never before tattooed my flesh. I am glad I waited till I met Mikki.
As a person she is well grounded. As an artist she has great vision and the ability to transform it onto the flesh.
Thanks Mikki. Though I will never know if you read this I put it hear for you to find and for any that are thinking of getting work done at your shop.
My wife came in and received a incredible piece of art done by Ms Mikki, and I sat down and talked to her about my vision of what I wanted. Mikki came up with a much better vision of my vision (which by the way was not hard because I have a very strange vision) Made the appointment right then and waited impatiently for the date to arrive, 2 six hour sessions later, and sore ass from sitting in that chair (sorry Mikki I'm complaining again) and that awesome warm tingling feeling (road rash) I have a AWESOME WORK OF ART, that I will be able to have with me forever, and I got to meet a great artist and better yet a great person......Thanks again Mikki and I will see you soon.
Review Source:This new shop is spectacular, full of light and warmth. Everyone is friendly and it has an amazing energy, how often can you be relaxed enough to start nodding off when getting inked on the underside of your arm?
If you have a picture in your head, or just an idea that you want to build on, this is the place to go. No tacky flash on the walls, just beautiful art by/on beautiful people.
The shop explodes with color and so does everyone in it. I have never been so relaxed and felt so at home while getting a tattoo, it's like an afternoon with family (one of the good ones, without your drunken uncle)
Thank you for bringing more color to me and letting me be part of your sunshine.
**Almost forgot to specify, I travel 1000 miles for Ms. Mikki, and she's worth it. Soft hands, great conversation, just an amazing eye on an amazing woman!
A wonderful place to go if you're looking for something outside the box for your tattoo experience. Certainly not your typical, everyday tattoo shop.I have many tattoo's and I have never had the type of care, precision and just ultimate customer service as Ms. Mikki, Tyler and Jordan provide. The Trio are unbeatable!
Jordan, Shop Manager, is the nicest gal you'll come across. Always friendly and totally hot. You'll never see her without a smile on her face, even if she's feeling a little under the weather.
Tyler is co-owner and a Tattoo Artist. He does amazing work and always has something nice to say. You can tell he is a very focused Tattoo Artist who loves to do his work because he loves to do it, not for money. Though I have only been working with Ms. Mikki, I most definitely would have work done by Tyler as well.
Ms. Mikki is superb. The energy that surrounds her is inexplicable. It's hard to put into words how Ms. Mikki is because she is just that incredible. She has a calming voice that washes away a bad mood in a minute. She pays great attention to detail and is extremely focused. Not to mention she's super sweet and has such a bubbly personality.
Definitely stop by sometime if you're ever wanting a great tattoo. Once you step foot in the door you be captured by its' energy and fall in love with it like I did.
When I moved from California to Oregon I had no idea I was trading in my tan for tattoos. Â This is a new shop just opened up by Ms.Mikki and Tyler. Â The space is gorgeous here, bright colors on the walls and tons of natural light, open and airy. Â A place I could and have spent hours....gladly. Â
I've had a few pieces done by Mikki and I love each and everyone of them.  She has been tattooing over 20 years and it shows in her  work, and in her passion for her art.  She is bad ass and sweet and I look forward to our next session. Â
Thanks Mikki, you make me more beautiful than I already am!!!!!
YAY for Fortune Tattoo!  This shop is beautiful, clean and tasteful.  It is full of light and warm energy that made me feel immediately welcome.  Well done guys!  But really, this review is for Ms. Mikki is the one! Her touch is delicate and her work is amazing.  She's clean, professional and  knowledgeable.  Her experience in the tattoo industry is only part of what makes her such and amazing tattooist.  She is a true artist and has made my blurred descriptions of imagery into beautiful clear pieces of art on my body that cause all different types of  people to stop me regularly to ask me who does my tattoos.  Though I met her when she was tattooing in Oakland, CA,  I have stayed true over the last 10 years she has been tattooing me.  When she moved to Oregon from a California I traveled here (and still do) to get her to put the hurt on me.  :)  She can do anything from bright and detailed floral work, and beautiful goddess/deities with incredible background scenery, to perfect black and grey skulls and things with a little more punch.  Her ability to bring life and color into a tattoo is priceless.  I have been tattooed by other artists and I am clear that  Mikki will always be my go to gurrrl.  She has my trust and complete confidence. Â
In the ever growing and trendy tattoo industry that is being flooded by new aspiring tattooers who don't yet know shit from shampoo, Â Mikki's 20+ years of ever-evolving experience and skill shine through. Â As I said, I live in Oakland, ca-- but I will continue to make the trip up to get worked on by Ms. Mikki. she never disappoints. xo happy decorating :)
my love girl .. Mikki .. at her new joint venture .. Â Which radiates more of a traditional authentic Japanese art on the body.. seep ink through the pores.. Â into the soul. Lovely energy at this new location .. But Mikki never, ever, ever forgets her roots .. as she's traveled many seas..noble Sailors wear her Bluebirds .. 80s Punks proudly decorated in filthy skulls .. She's an artist first..
NOT your TYPICAL TATTOO PARLOR Â at all.
