I wandered in with an idea that wasn't really straight forward. I looked at the artists' books and when I saw designs in one, I saw an artist whom I thought could pull off my idea. I am strongly drawn to that which is not as it appears, and wanted my design to reflect that notion. I wanted a design that the casual observer would see and think, "Lovely design," but that folk who knew what they were looking at would smirk, and grin, and say, "Huh, cool," and walk on. The book that drew me in was Dylan's. He took his time with the drawing and was patient while I had him go back for changes until it rang true for me. The resulting tattoo pleases me greatly. The line work is stellar; the dimension is really cool; and what I hoped would be has come to fruition. I don't have to cover a tattoo, the content of which is really NOT what most people think they're seeing. Ah, grin....Dylan, you rock, mon!
Review Source:Wow - first time getting a tattoo, I made an appointment and was able to send the artist my tattoo drawing. Â He did a great job rendering my botanical print to a tattoo. Â Brad Delay was my artist, he was very good at telling me what was going to happen and made a somewhat nervous situation for me more calming. Â He was open to letting me have a support person (my nephew) there and we all had a good time. Â
I would highly recommend Historic Tattoo and Brad - I am from the east coast but would fly back here if I get another tattoo. Â Great experience for my first time!!! Â Love how the tattoo came out!!
I've been in Historic for tattoos, conversation, questions and more and every time I'm greeted with positive attitudes and an honest and open nature. These guys make me feel comfortable like my mother's couch and a pair of sweatpants.
All of the artists here have a very high respect for their work and are extremely professional. It is difficult to relay the quality of work so I will just encourage you to go in and check it out for yourself.
Chris V. at Historic did an amazing job with a map concept that I wanted on my arms. I get at least 5 compliments a day on his work, no joke. Â It came out even better than I conceptualized. Â
He made the process comfortable and clean- I was able to sit through 5.5 straight hours of work, and it was my first tattoo.  His lines are incredible.  He added some aspects that turned out to really make the tattoo stand out as an original, beautiful  piece of art.
I also had the chance to witness a good friend of mine getting work done by Jesse. Â She does some beautiful color work, and I recommend her as well. Â
Historic is a beautiful shop in a great old building. Â The atmosphere was highly enjoyable for a 8 eight hour experience. Â This shop has my highest recommendation!
I just got my tattoo from Chris here at historic. His lines are incredible and the black work is very consistent throughout the tattoo. He was very focused on the tattoo and didn't talk much which I really respect, but he is also a great guy with a good sense of humor. He worked with me through the entire process. Put his own twist on things and changed the things that didn't work for me. He is an amazing artist, I would highly recommend him to anyone getting a tattoo. He's an awesome guy and his work totally reflects that.
