Their business page on here lies. They are appointments only now. Trust me, I've been cursed at on the phone by them for wanting to walk in.
This shop used to be great. I was a customer of there's years ago. Since then, a lot has changed. They no longer accept walk ins (which killed my business for them, as they were my recommended shop to friends), and the attitudes are insane. Whoever is on the phone shouldn't be telling potential customers, "No, the artist only wants appointments. Make one or hang up." Seriously beyond rude!!
I stopped going, and I don't recommend them anymore. It seems that they have a huge staff/artist shift this past year. Now, I just got a "Birthday Certificate" from them in my mail. How they knew my address and birthday from a walk in appointment 3 years ago, is beyond me. Either way, it was a shitty $30 off any tattoo coupon that was just printed cheaply on their PC. A 5 year old could have done better. Really, all I read was, "We're desperate for customers".
Pass if you can. You should be able to walk into a tattoo shop and enjoy your experience, not get glared at, smug attitudes, or rudely denied.
The only upside: they're cheap.
Yana is the greatest!. The shop is always super clean. Besides being a great artist shes really nice, My boyfriend has gotten several Tattoos from her i have gotten one and plan to get more. Just recently my brother got his first Tat from her. It came out great. Everyone should come to her shop, the location is out there but you get what you pay for. I rather come to her.
Review Source:A friend and I dropped in today to get our helixes pierced. The shop doesn't carry the size I want (for a simple post) so I decided to get another piercing I've been wanting, the conch. Nick, who did the piercings, was incredibly helpful and flexible. We talked about our options and what to expect for at least 20-30 minutes, which I think made us feel both at ease as it was our first time getting "grownup" piercings, and we definitely felt he took our concerns seriously. He was very concerned about cleanliness and changed his gloves multiple times. The piercing itself was efficient and over quickly; we were both satisfied with results (he marked our ears with Sharpies beforehand to make sure we got what we wanted). I also love the vibe of the store. One heads-up, though- you can only use a credit card for purchases of at least $150.
Review Source:There aren't enough good things I can say about Lucky Dog..Yana and Nick are both extremely professional, honest, and talented..The shop is clean and provides a comfortable atmosphere..Yana is an outstanding artist and tattooer..Both Nick and Yana are extremely helpful and will not do any work unless you are completely satisfied or if they believe it will not work out the way you want it to..My husband and I have gotten a few tattoos each done here and will never go any place else..we have also recommended Yana and Lucky Dog to many friends who now will never go anywhere else either! Â I just wish we knew about them a long time ago!!
Review Source:I came in hoping to get my lip pierced and upon being measured, the man at the front of the shop found they didn't have the proper size to accommodate my lip and eventual swelling. He did have a small ring, but said it wouldn't be the right thing to do and continued to inform me on what size I should be looking for and what to expect. This man straight up had a 5 minute conversation with me KNOWING I wasn't going to get pierced there. I have NO idea what these other reviews are talking about in terms of attitude because he was the nicest man and really settled my nerves. I'm in love and will be returning to get my next tattoo.
Review Source:After looking this establishment up online and reading the few reviews here on Yelp, I decided to give it a try, especially since it is a few blocks from my house.
When I walked in I was immediately attended to. I got my rook pierced and I was there a total of 20 minutes. The piercing cost $45 for the piercing, jewelry included. The place was very clean and I would definitely go back. I think another tattoo is next.
I suggest you check out their website and even stop by just to get a feel for the place and the information you are looking for.
Very nice shop, clean and relaxing. Had Nick do my tattoo and I had sent it to him a few days earlier. When I got there he had made some changes...which actually looked better than the original. After Nick set up , the atmosphere became very relaxed and we talked  during short minute breaks.
Definitely going back for my next one to Lucky Dog Tattoo!!!!
Lucky Dog Tattoos should probably add an additional sign for smug attitudes. Or maybe they don't because they're free? What's not free was the tiny photocopy of my potential tattoo.
Whoever the man at the front desk was should probably take some lessons in customer service if he'd like to continue in the hole in the wall located in another hole in the wall area of Queens. you'd think customer service would be a fine point at a neighborhood place like this but apparently Lucky Dog didn't ge the memo.
I would have possibly came back to get my tattoo done there but after this (first) experience, i'll pass and be happy to give my money (yes, even if its more) to another establishment.
Pretension is never favorable, but if the artwork is subpar at best? Get real.
